Abstract

The formation of the Mufushan granopegmatite was closely related to the Late Yenshanian multiphase and multistage magmatic activities. More than one generation of beryl and aquamarine occur in different types of pegmatite in the granites. The presence of melt and melt-fluid inclusions strongly indicates a melt-solution character of the pegmatitic magma. Forming temperatures of the different generations of beryl in a Na+-K+-Ca2+-CO3 2−-Cl−-SO4 2− solution ranges from 990 °C to 200 °C Aquamarine was formed at 720–180 °C. The contents of alkali metals (Na+ + K+) in the ore-formming solution of aquamarine are lower than those in the beryl, but the contents of alkali earths (Ca) and salinity are higher. The granite was generated by remelting of the basement formation (meta-sedimentary rocks of the Lengjiaxi Group) which also served as the source of ore-forming material. Beryllium in the pegmatite was transported mainly in the form of Na2[Be(CO3)2], with part of it being complexed with Cl− and SO4 2−. During the generation and evolution of the pegmatite, equilibrium might have been reached in the solid-melt-fluid or solid-fluid system. The intergranular solutions may have reacted with the early crystallized minerals, resulting in potash-feldsparization, albitization and muscovitization during which the ore-forming elements were mobilized and transported in favour of ore deposition.

Abstract

Volcanic rocks in seamounts of the South China Sea consist mainly of alkali basalt, tholeiitic basalt, trachyandesitic pumice, dacite, etc. Inclusions in the minerals of the volcanic rocks are mainly amorphous melt inclusions, which reflects that the volcanic rocks are characterized by submarine eruption and rapid cooling on the seafloor. Furthermore, fluid-melt inclusions have been discovered for the first time in alkali basalts and mantle-derived xenoliths. indicating a process of differentiation between magma and fluid in the course of mantle partial melting. Alkali basalts and inclusions may have been formed in this nonhomogeneous system.

Abstract

NFBD1, a signal amplifier of the p53 pathway, is vital for protecting cells from p53-mediated apoptosis and the early phase of DNA damage response under normal culture conditions. Here we investigated its expression in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), and we describe the biological functions of the NFBD1 gene. We found that NFBD1 mRNA and protein were more highly expressed in NPC tissues than in nontumorous tissues. To investigate the function of NFBD1, we created NFBD1-depleted NPC cell lines that exhibited decreased cellular proliferation and colony formation, an increase in their rate of apoptosis, and an enhanced sensitivity to chemotherapeutic agents compared with in vitro controls. However, N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) and downregulation of p53 expression could partially reverse the apoptosis caused by the loss of NFBD1. Further analysis showed that loss of NFBD1 resulted in increased production of intracellular reactive oxygen species (ROS) depending on p53, which subsequently triggered the mitochondrial apoptotic pathway. Using a xenograft model in nude mice, we showed that silencing NFBD1 also significantly inhibited tumor growth and led to apoptosis. Taken together, our data suggest that inhibition of NFBD1 in NPC could be therapeutically useful.

Abstract

The vocal cord polyp is easy to relapse after surgery, but if the patient has recurrence in a short term, it is necessary to consider it as postoperative vocal cord contact granuloma. If the patients with contact granuloma after surgical treatment had severe impact on the pronunciation, it is necessary to be operated and confirmed by pathology and given the treatment of acid suppression, in order to avoid postoperative recurrence.
