Via the method of cold sintering with post-annealing, the lead-free ceramics K 0. 4 5 Na 0. 4 5 Li 0. 1 NbO3 were prepared. The cold sintered pellet without post-annealing shows a relative density ( ρ r) of 77.9%, which is larger than ρ r of the green pellet via the conventional solid-state sintering (SSS) method (∼ 6 5. 1 %). The cold sintered pellets were post-annealed at temperatures between 9 7 5 ∘ C and 1 0 7 5 ∘ C. The effect of post-annealing temperatures on microstructure, dielectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties of the ceramics was studied in detail. After being post-annealed, the relative densities and grain sizes of the ceramics were increased. The ceramics post-annealed at 1 0 5 0 ∘ C show excellent dielectric, ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties. Compared to the conventional SSS method, the method of cold sintering with post-annealing is successful in preparing dense K 0. 4 5 Na 0. 4 5 Li 0. 1 NbO3 lead-free ceramics in a wide temperature range and at relatively low temperatures. As a promising technique to potentially address the energy crisis and environmental issues, photocatalysis has been reported widely to exhibit various outstanding behaviors in production of new fuels/chemicals and treatment of contaminants. The photocatalytic performance is extremely dependent on the used photocatalysts, so that the design and preparation of efficient photocatalysts are critically important for significantly improving the photocatalytic activity. Among various strategies, the hybridization of metal with semiconductors has recently been attracting more and more research interest owing to their expended spectral absorption, promoted transferring rate of charge carriers and Plasmon‐enhanced effect. In this minireview, the metal‐facilitated hybrid photocatalysts are overviewed comprehensively to first reveal unique functions of metals in improvement of photoactivity and summarize the emerging metal‐involved hybrid systems. Subsequently, the synthetic methods towards hybrid photocatalysts are introduced and their practical applications are emphasized in environmental remediation including degradation of organic pollutants, conversion of harmful gases, treatment of heavy metal ions and sterilization of bacteria. At the end, the challenges for industrializing these hybrid photocatalysts are discussed carefully and future development is suggested rationally. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This work seeks for a better understanding on how the gas treatment process affected the structure of metal loaded zeolite Y (MY, M = Ag, Cu) adsorbants and how the structural changes affected the performances of the adsorbents for adsorptive desulfurization. A series of characterization tools including solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance were employed. Compared to the N 2 treatment, the H 2 treatment on the MY adsorbents led to the reduction of the loaded M components to their metallic state and, consequently, brought several structural changes to the zeolitic framework. The structural changes brought by the H 2 treatment can be accounted for the decreased Brönsted acidity over the Lewis acidity of the adsorbents and thus helped in improving their adsorption capacity. This paper provides new insights on how the zeolitic framework changes affected the sulfur adsorption capacity of MY, which is helpful for designing better adsorbents for sulfur removal from oil., Competing Interests: The authors declare no competing financial interest., (Copyright © 2020 American Chemical Society.)

Objective: To observe the difference of the therapeutic effect of acupuncture at Jiaji (EX-B 2) combined with superficial needling for lumbar disc herniation (LDH) and to explore the synergy effect between acupuncture at Jiaji (EX-B 2) and superficial needling., Methods: Sixty patients with LDH were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, 30 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with superficial needling at the corresponding myofascial fasciae trigger point (MTrP) and leave the plastic tube in the body for 6 hours, and then acupuncture at Jiaji (EX-B 2) and the needle was remained for 30 min. The control group was treated with superficial needling simply. Both groups were treated once daily, five days in succession with 2 days interval, 10 times constituting a treating course for 2 courses. The average onset time of analgesic effect and the effect-lasting time after the first treatment were observed. The mean pain scores after the first treatment and after two treatment courses were compared by McGill pain inquire scale., Results: There was no significant difference in the average onset time of the two groups [(5.10 +/- 3.70) min vs (5.93 +/- 5.09) min, P > 0.05]. But the effect-lasting time of (13.00 +/- 6.90) h in the observation group was longer than that of (6.27 +/- 3.98) h in the control group (P < 0.01). Compared with the scores of Pain Rating Index (PRI), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and Present Pain Intensity (PPI) after the first treatment, there were no significant statistical differences between the two groups (all P > 0.05). But the same comparison after 2 treating courses showed that the scores of PRI, VAS and PPI in the observation group were lower than the control group (all P < 0.01)., Conclusion: Acupuncture at Jiaji (EX-B 2) can extend the analgesic time and enhance the analgesic effect of the superficial needling.
