Abstract: By analyzing $e^{+}e^{-}$ collision data with an integrated luminosity of 7.9~fb$^{-1}$ collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773~GeV, the branching fraction of $D^+\to\tau^+\nu_{\tau}$ is determined as $\mathcal{B}=(9.9\pm 1.1_\mathrm{stat}\pm 0.5_\mathrm{syst})\times10^{-4}$. Taking the most precise result $\mathcal{B}(D^+\to\mu^+\nu_{\mu})=(3.981\pm 0.079_\mathrm{stat}\pm0.040_\mathrm{syst})\times10^{-4}$, we determine $R_{\tau/\mu} = \Gamma(D^+\to\tau^+\nu_{\tau})/\Gamma(D^+\to\mu^+\nu_{\mu})= 2.49\pm0.31$, achieving a factor of two improvement in precision compared to the previous BESIII result. This measurement is in agreement with the standard model prediction of lepton flavor universality within one standard deviation.

Abstract: Using $(27.12\pm0.14) \times 10^{8}$ $\psi(2S)$ events collected by the BESIII detector operating at BEPCII, we search for the decay $\eta_c(2S)\to p\bar{p}$ via the process $\psi(2S)\to \gamma\eta_c(2S)$, and only find a signal with a significance of $1.7\,\sigma$. The upper limit of the product branching fraction at the 90% confidence level is determined to be $\mathcal{B}(\psi(2S)\to \gamma\eta_c(2S))\times \mathcal{B}(\eta_c(2S)\to p\bar{p})<2.4\times 10^{-7}$. The branching fractions of $\chi_{cJ}\to p\bar{p}~(J=0,1,2)$ are also measured to be $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c0}\to p\bar{p})=(2.51\pm0.02\pm0.08)\times 10^{-4}$, $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c1}\to p\bar{p})=(8.16\pm0.09\pm0.25)\times 10^{-4}$, and $\mathcal{B}(\chi_{c2}\to p\bar{p})=(8.33\pm0.09\pm0.22)\times 10^{-4}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Abstract: We search for the radiative decays $D^{+} \to \gamma \rho^+$ and $D^{+} \to \gamma K^{*+}$ using 20.3~fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ annihilation data collected at the center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}=3.773$ GeV by the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider. No significant signals are observed, and the upper limits on the branching fractions of $D^{+} \to \gamma \rho^+$ and $D^{+} \to \gamma K^{*+}$ at 90\% confidence level are set to be $1.3\times10^{-5}$ and $1.8\times10^{-5}$, respectively.

Abstract: Using $(2712.4 \pm 14.3) \times 10^6~\psi$(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider, we search for the hadronic transition $h_c \to \pi^+\pi^-J/\psi$ via $\psi(3686)\to \pi^0 h_c$. No significant signal is observed. We set the most stringent upper limits to date on the branching fractions $\mathcal{B}(\psi(3686)\to \pi^0 h_c)\times\mathcal{B}(h_c\to\pi^+\pi^-J/\psi)$ and $\mathcal{B}(h_c \to \pi^+\pi^-J/\psi)$ at the 90$\%$ confidence level, which are determined to be $6.7\times 10^{-7}$ and $9.4 \times10^{-4}$, respectively.

Abstract: Using $(10087\pm44)\times10^6J/\psi$ events collected with the BESIII detector, we search for the rare decay $J/\psi \to \gamma D^0+c.c.$ for the first time. No obvious signal is observed and the upper limit on the branching fraction is determined to be ${\cal B}(J/\psi \to \gamma D^{0}+c.c.)< 9.1 \times 10^{-8}$ at 90\% confidence level.

6. Relationship between the shear modulus and volume relaxation in high-entropy metallic glasses: experiment and physical origin

Abstract: We performed parallel measurements of the high-frequency shear modulus $G$ and relative volume $\Delta V/V$ for high-entropy Ti$_{20}$Zr$_{20}$Hf$_{20}$Be$_{20}$Cu$_{20}$ and Ti$_{20}$Zr$_{20}$Hf$_{20}$Be$_{20}$Ni$_{20}$ glasses upon heating from room temperature up to the complete crystallization. The changes of these properties due to structural relaxation both below and above the glass transition temperature are singled out. It is shown that these changes for both initial and preannealed samples can be well described within the framework of the Interstitialcy theory. It is found that the whole relaxation process in the full temperature range of the experiments for both samples' states can be characterized by a single dimensionless temperature-independent parameter $K_i=dln\;G/dln\;V$, which equals to -44 and -53 for the above glasses, respectively, and strongly points at interstitial-type defects as a source of relaxation. We also show that the relaxation of the relative volume linearly depends on the defect concentration. This behavior can be described by another dimensionless temperature-independent parameter, which is related with the relaxation volume of defects. Possible contribution of vacancy-like defects into the relaxation is discussed., Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures

Abstract: We performed high-frequency (0.4 to 1.7 MHz) measurements of the internal friction (IF) on 14 bulk metallic glasses (MGs). It is found that 12 of these MGs display relaxation IF peaks at temperatures T= 400-500 K, which are weakly affected by heat treatment within the amorphous state. The corresponding relaxation time is about 0.3 microseconds. This fast relaxation is reported for the first time in the literature. Abstract: We performed calorimetric measurements on 30 bulk metallic glasses differing with their mixing entropies DSmix. On this basis, the excess entropies DS and excess enthalpies DH of glasses with respect to their maternal crystalline states are calculated. It is found that the excess entropy DS on the average decreases with increasing mixing entropy DSmix. This means that so-called "high-entropymetallic glasses" (i.e. the glasses having high DSmix) actually constitute glasses with low excess entropy DS. We predict that such glasses should have reduced relaxation ability. We also found that the excess enthalpy DH of glass linearly increases with its excess entropy DS, in line with a general thermodynamic estimate., Comment: 5 pages, 3 figures

11. Effect of the entropy on the shear viscosity of metallic glasses near the glass transition

Abstract: We measured the shear viscosity of 14 metallic glasses differing with their mixing entropy $\Delta S_{mix}$. It is found that the viscosity at the glass transition temperature $T_g$ significantly increases with $\Delta S_{mix}$. Using calorimetric data, we calculated the excess entropy of all glasses $\Delta S$ with respect to their maternal crystalline states as a function of temperature. It is shown that the excess entropy $\Delta S$ both at room temperature and at $T_g$ \textit{decreases} with $\Delta S_{mix}$. It is concluded that glasses with "high mixing entropy" $\Delta S_{mix}$ correspond to MGs with \textit{low} excess entropy $\Delta S$. Anxious depression (AD) is deemed to be a primary subtype of MDD. The amygdala and the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) are key brain regions involved in emotional regulation. These regions contain the most GABAA receptors. Although the GABAergic deficit hypothesis of MDD is generally accepted, few studies have demonstrated how GABAA receptor gene polymorphisms affect the functions of specific brain regions, in particular, the amygdala and the DLPFC.Methods: The sample comprised 83 patients with AD, 70 patients with non-anxious depression (NAD), and 62 healthy controls (HC). All participants underwent genotyping for polymorphisms of GABAA receptor subunit genes, followed by a resting-state fMRI scan. The HAMD-17 was used to evaluate the severity of MDD. ANOVA was performed to obtain the difference in the imaging data, GABAA receptor multi-locus genetic profile scores (MGPS), and HAMD-17 scores among three groups, then the significant differences between AD and NAD groups were identified. Mediating effect analysis was used to explore the role of functional connectivity (FC) between the amygdala and DLPFC in the association between the GABAA receptor gene MGPS and AD clinical features.Results: Compared with the NAD group, the AD group had a higher GABAA receptor MGPS. AD patients exhibited a negative correlation between the MGPS and FC of the right centromedial (CM) subregion, and the right middle frontal gyrus (MFG). A negative correlation was also observed between the MGPS and anxiety/somatic symptoms. Abstract: Using a notion on the excess entropy of glass with respect to the counterpart crystal, we introduce a simple dimensionless order parameter $\xi$, which changes from $\xi \rightarrow 0$ to $\xi \rightarrow 1$. The former case corresponds to a strongly disordered liquid-like structure while the latter situation describes a highly ordered crystal-like glass. This approach is applied to 13 metallic and 2 tellurite glasses. We found that $\xi$ is strongly sensitive to structural state and/or chemical composition. 14. Critical behavior of the fluctuation heat capacity near the glass transition of metallic glasses

Abstract: The high-frequency shear modulus of five Zr-, Pd-, Cu-based conventional and two high-entropy bulk metallic glasses was measured in a wide temperature range up to the beginning of crystallization. Using these data and general thermodynamic relations, the "fluctuation" heat capacity $\Delta C_f$ determined by local structural fluctuations in the defect regions is introduced and calculated. It is found that $\Delta C_f$ temperature dependence for all metallic glasses has a large peak located slightly below or above the glass transition temperature but clearly lower than the crystallization onset temperature. The form of this peak resembles the characteristic $\lambda$-peak typical for order-disorder phase transitions. It is suggested that this $\Delta C_f$-peak reflects certain underlying critical phenomenon. The critical temperature $T_0$ (peak temperature) and corresponding critical index $\alpha$ are determined. Averaged over all seven metallic glasses under investigation in the initial and relaxed states, the critical index $\alpha=0.26$. The results obtained indicate that the fluctuations of thermal energy near the glass transition bear the marks of a continuous phase transition. However, the derived critical index is between those corresponding to a second-order phase transition ($\alpha\approx 0.1$) and a critical transition characterized by a tricritical point ($\alpha \approx 0.5$)., Comment: 18 pages, 4 figures

Abstract: On the basis of shear modulus measurements on a Pt-based glass, we calculated temperature dependence of the defect concentration c using the Interstitialcy theory. This temperature dependence is compared with temperature dependence of the normalized full width at half maximum (FWHM) gamma of the first peak of the structure factor S(q) for the same glass available in the literature. It is found that above the glass transition temperature Tg linearly increases with c in the same way for both initial and relaxed (preannealed) samples providing the evidence of defect-induced disordering in the supercooled liquid region independent of glass thermal prehistory. For both states of the samples, the derivative d(gamma)/dc is close to unity. Below Tg, the interrelation between gamma and c is entirely different for initial and relaxed samples. In the former case, strong defect-induced ordering upon approaching Tg is observed while relaxed samples do not reveal any clear ordering/disordering. Possible reasons for these observations are discussed. To further investigate the relationship between the normalized FWHM and defect concentration, we performed molecular dynamic simulation of gamma(c)-dependence in a high-entropy FeNiCrCoCu model glass. It is found that gamma also linearly increases with c while the derivative d(gamma)/dc is again close to unity just as in the case of Pt-based glass., Comment: 15 pages, 6 postscript figures

Abstract: Conventional crystalline alloys usually possess a low atomic size difference in order to stabilize its crystalline structure. However, in this article, we report a single phase chemically complex alloy which possesses a large atomic size misfit usually unaffordable to conventional alloys. Consequently, this alloy develops a rather complex atomic-scale chemical order and a highly distorted crystalline structure. As a result, this crystalline alloy displays an unusually high elastic strain limit (~2%), about ten times of that of conventional alloys, and an extremely low internal friction (< 2E-4) at room temperature. More interestingly, this alloy firmly maintains its elastic modulus even when the testing temperature rises from room temperature to 900 K, which is unmatched by the existing alloys hitherto reported. From an application viewpoint, our discovery may open up new opportunities to design high precision devices usable even under an extreme environment.

These unfortunate injuries generated by ionizing radiation alter the therapeutic window and result in the re-occurrence of the malignancy. Therefore, we engaged in vitro studies by demonstrating radiation-induced inflammasome and cell death in endothelial cells.Methods: The microvascular endothelial cells were cultured in a sterile dish, then kept in a humidifier of 5% at 37°C for 12 hours/more to attain confluence, and exposed at a dose of 1.8Gy/min achieve the coveted amounts except for the control. The cells were harvested 24 hours post-irradiation.Results: Our findings indicate that gamma radiation activates the NOD-like receptor (NLR) family of NLRP1 and NLRP3 complex in microvascular endothelial cells. These complexes activate the inactive precursor of caspase-1, which cleaved to bioactive caspase − 1 and enhances the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines of interleukin-1β and interleukin-18 that induce the dependent pyroptotic, which results in the production of chemokines, tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), and high-mobility group protein-1 (HMGB-1). Abstract: The structure degradation of commercial Lithium-ion battery (LIB) graphite anodes with different cycling numbers and charge rates was investigated by focused ion beam (FIB) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The cross-section image of graphite anode by FIB milling shows that cracks, resulted in the volume expansion of graphite electrode during long-term cycling, were formed in parallel with the current collector. The crack occurs in the bulk of graphite particles near the lithium insertion surface, which might derive from the stress induced during lithiation and de-lithiation cycles. Subsequently, crack takes place along grain boundaries of the polycrystalline graphite, but only in the direction parallel with the current collector. Furthermore, fast charge graphite electrodes are more prone to form cracks since the tensile strength of graphite is more likely to be surpassed at higher charge rates. 46. Controllable Exciton Diffusion Length and Ultrafast Charge Generation in Ternary Organic Solar Cells

Abstract: Comprehensive Summary Charge generation, a critical process in the operation of organic solar cell (OSC), requires thorough investigation in an ultrafast perspective. This work demonstrates that the utilization of alloy model for the non‐fullerene acceptor (NFA) component can regulate the crystallization properties of active layer films, which in turn affects exciton diffusion and hole transfer (HT), ultimately influencing the charge generation process. By incorporating BTP‐eC7 as a third component, without expanding absorption range or changing molecular energy levels but regulating the ultrafast exciton diffusion and HT processes, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the optimized PM6:BTP‐eC9:BTP‐eC7 based ternary OSC is improved from 17.30% to 17.83%, primarily due to the enhancement of short‐circuit current density (JSC). Additionally, the introduction of BTP‐eC7 also reduces the trap state density in the photoactive layer which helps to reduce the loss of JSC. This study introduces a novel approach for employing ternary alloy models by incorporating dual acceptors with similar structures, and elucidates the underlying mechanism of charge generation and JSC in ternary OSCs.

47. Revealing Design Rules for Improving The Photostability of Non-Fullerene Acceptors from Molecular to Aggregation Level

Abstract: With the rapid increase in power conversion efficiency of organic photovoltaics due to the development of non-fullerene acceptors (NFAs), prolonging the operational lifetime of devices becomes one of the critical prerequisites for commercial application. In this work, the degradation pathways of a wide range of state-of-the-art NFA molecules via multiple spectroscopic techniques combined with density functional theory and molecular dynamics simulation are revealed. The structural confinement and molecular ordering are responsible for molecular conformational stability under illumination. More importantly, a very general trend is revealed that the origin of increased nonradiative decay under illumination is predominately in the aggregated states with strong intermolecular interactions while the intramolecular exciton dynamics are stable. The increased nonradiative decay correlates with reduced exciton diffusion length. This work provides vital information toward the design of intrinsically photo-stable NFAs at the molecular level and the importance of aggregation control toward long-term stable organic solar cells.

48. Using an external electric field to tune active layer morphology enabling high-efficiency organic solar cells via ambient blade coating

Abstract: The nanoscale morphology of the photoactive layer notably impacts the performance of organic solar cells (OSCs). Conventional methods to tune the morphology are typically chemical approaches that adjust the properties (such as solubility and miscibility) of the active components including donor, acceptor, and/or additive. Here, we demonstrate a completely different approach by applying an external electric field (EEF) on the active layer during the wet coating. The EEF-coating method is perfectly compatible with an ambient blade coating using environmentally friendly solvents, which are essential requirements for industrial production of OSCs. A record 18.6% efficiency is achieved using the EEF coating, which is the best value for open-air, blade-coated OSCs to date. Our findings suggest broad material applicability and attribute-enhanced performance to EEF-induced fiber formation and long-range ordering of microstructures of acceptor domains. This technique offers an effective method for producing high-performance OSCs, especially suited for industry OSC production based on open-air printing.

49. Correlation between local structure and dynamic heterogeneity in a metallic glass-forming liquid

Abstract: Dynamic heterogeneity as one of the most important properties in supercooled liquids has been found for several decades. However, its structural origin remains open for many systems. Here, we propose a new structural parameter to characterize local atomic packing in metallic liquids. It is found that the new parameter in a simulated metallic glass-forming liquid is closely correlated with potential energy and atomic mobility. It also exhibits significant spatial heterogeneities and these structural fluctuations show close correlation with the spatial distribution of the long-time dynamic propensities. Therefore, our results provide a direct evidence of the correlation between atomic structure and dynamical heterogeneity.

However, little is known about the relevance between adiponectin and inflammatory factors in keloid.Methods: To clarify whether adiponectin plays a role in the inflammation and fibrosis of keloid, 50 patients with keloid and 50 healthy subjects were enrolled, We examined the serum and mRNA expression levels of adiponectin, TGF-β 1, CTGF, IL-6 and TNF-α in normal skin tissues and keloid tissues by ELISA and qPCR, respectively. Correlation analysis between serum concentration of adiponectin with Vancouver Scar Scale (VSS) scores and the age of patients with keloid was evaluated, and the adiponectin concentrations in patients with keloid between different genders were measured. We further examined the effects of adiponectin on TGF-β 1 mediated expression of collagen I, FN and MMP-1 in normal fibroblasts (NFs) and keloid fibroblasts (KFs).Results: We discovered that lower serum concentration and mRNA expression of adiponectin, but higher TGF-β 1, CTGF, IL-6 and TNF-α levels were measured in patients with keloid compared with those in normal controls. Furthermore, there was a strong inverse correlation between the serum adiponectin levels and VSS scores in patients with keloid, but not in ages, and there was no statistically difference between different genders. Moreover, adiponectin attenuated TGF-β 1 mediated expression of collagen I and FN, and upregulated the expression level of MMP-1 in KFs, but not in NFs. In addition, the inhibitory effect of adiponectin on TGF-β 1 was attenuated by AMPK inhibitor Compound C, but not PI3K/Akt inhibitor LY294002.Discussion: Adiponectin may exert an anti-inflammation and anti-fibrosis role in the development of keloid.
