Introduction: The global rise in e-cigarette use among adolescents is alarming, with associated socioeconomic inequalities posing potential public health risks. This study examined trends in the socioeconomic inequality in e-cigarette use among South Korean adolescents to inform future regulatory directions. Methods: Socioeconomic inequalities in e-cigarette use among Korean adolescents were assessed using data from the Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey (KYRBS) from 2011 to 2023. The Concentration Index, a well-established method for measuring health inequalities, was employed. Additionally, this study investigated how the smoking behaviors of family members and friends influence socioeconomic inequality in e-cigarette use among Korean adolescents, using a decomposition analysis. Results: The Concentration Index values showed a clear, fluctuating downward trend over 13 years, from -0.12 (95% CI: -0.13 – -0.10) in 2011 to -0.24 (95% CI: -0.26 – -0.21) in 2023. Decomposition analysis revealed that smoking among peer groups, including friends and siblings, was the primary contributor to socioeconomic inequality in e-cigarette use, followed by maternal smoking. Conclusions: Socioeconomic inequalities in adolescent e-cigarette use in South Korea are widening, particularly among low socioeconomic status groups. Introduction: The use rate of electronic cigarettes (e-cigarettes) among adolescents is continuously rising globally, posing new challenges to public health and negatively impacting adolescent health. This study employs bibliometric methods to systematically present the current state and evolving trends in global research on adolescent e-cigarette use. Methods: This study uses CiteSpace to conduct a bibliometric analysis of articles related to adolescent e-cigarette use from the Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection database. Firstly, performance analysis and collaboration network analysis were utilized to clarify the basic publication status, main knowledge producers, and knowledge collaboration networks in adolescent e-cigarette use research. Secondly, a co-citation network analysis was performed to visually analyze the disciplinary characteristics and 'hot topics' in this field. Finally, keyword burst detection and clustering techniques were employed to further explain the development trends and frontiers of research on adolescent e-cigarette use. Results: A total of 2063 research articles and review articles were included in this study. Research on adolescent e-cigarette use has significantly increased from 2002 to 2024. The United States, the United Kingdom and Canada are the main contributors, with their institutions and researchers playing key roles in the international collaborative network. Current research increasingly adopts interdisciplinary approaches. Keyword co-occurrence and burst identified current research 'hotspots' including vaping, substance use, public policy, prevention, advertising, and cessation. Co-citation cluster analysis revealed promising research areas such as attractiveness, environment and health, accessibility and smoking behavior, and mental health. Conclusions: Through data mining and visualization techniques, this study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of published work on e-cigarettes and adolescence. Based on life-history interviews conducted with Chinese young gay men, this research critically engages with the anti-family tendency in queer temporality studies. It identifies three forms of queer temporality among our informants – strategic delay, optimistic pursuit and queer passing-time – in relation to the emerging neo-Confucian familism in China, which, overall, suggests a 'yes-but-not-yet' queer youth temporality characterised by a combination of a selective acceptance of hetero-/homonormative familial responsibilities and a 'not yet ready to shoulder them' status. Caught between the assimilationist gesture and a queer standpoint, this 'yes-but-not-yet' queer temporality seems difficult to categorise. With a focus on our informants' efforts to draw on different resources to pragmatically seek possibilities for a liveable life, we argue that it is more important to understand 'queer' in and on their terms rather than discussing how to define queer or normative to analyse our informants' stories. In doing so, this research opens up possibilities to theorise queer temporality from an Asian perspective in relation to the emerging neo-Confucian familism. It also challenges the dichotomous thinking in queer studies that belittles the queer efforts made by the marginalised/non-Western and calls for a more context-specific queer sociology. Building on the geography of sexualities and queer temporality studies, this research investigates the entanglement of sexuality, time and space with a case study of rural–urban migrant gay men in China. Based on participant observations and in‐depth interviews with 46 Chinese rural–urban migrant gay men, we identify three forms of queer temporality – queer biographical time, queer life stage, and queer clock time – emerging from Chinese gay men's life stories. We also demonstrate how these different forms of queer temporality are conditioned by and influence certain spatial practices among our informants. In doing so, this analysis contributes to the geographical research on sexuality by challenging the rural/urban dichotomy in the existing literature on the one hand, and exploring the possibilities for a geography of queer temporality on the other.
