Dithieno[3,2-b:2',3'-d] pyrrole (DTP) is a green alternative for stabilising the synthesis of nano polymers. The development of green synthesis methods for nano polymers is essential due to the negative impact of conventional synthetic methods on the environment and human health. In this study, we synthesised DTP and investigated its ability to stabilise the synthesis of polymeric nanoparticles. The use of DTP as a stabilising agent for polymeric nanoparticles is motivated by the challenges associated with the use of conventional stabilisers, including toxicity and environmental hazards. The importance of this study lies in the potential applications of DTP-stabilised nanoparticles in various fields, including drug delivery and nano electronics. The advantages of using DTP as a green alternative for stabilising the synthesis of nano polymers include its low toxicity and environmentally friendly nature. Conventional stabilisers, such as surfactants and polymers, often have adverse effects on human health and the environment. DTP is derived from natural sources and has low toxicity, making it an attractive alternative for stabilising the synthesis of nano polymers. Furthermore, the use of DTP as a stabilising agent can enhance the properties of polymeric nanoparticles, including their stability, size, and morphology, leading to improved performance in various applications. The condensation of an amino compound with carbonyl compounds synthesizes the Schiff bases and their complexes are reported for their wide range of biological activities. These complexes have special attention on activities such as antifungal, antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor and anticancer properties. In the recent years, these complexes have gained good attention because of their unique biological properties. The biological applications of these complexes are reported in the large extent in the recent years. Development of a new chemotherapeutic Schiff bases and their metal complexes is now attracting the attention of medicinal chemists. Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide, currently the cancer treatments are radiation therapy, surgery or chemotherapy with the well-known side effects. So far there is no curative therapy available for most of disseminated cancer and thereby the development and discovery of novel therapeutic agents are largely needed. From the development of cisplatin, many scientific groups are actively worked/working for the inorganic anticancer drugs. and have developed a number of Ru(II) complexes with lower systemic toxicity. Ruthenium complexes can penetrate effectively with the tumor cells and bind with DNA. In view of this, we have synthesized novel Ru(II) isatin complex cis-[RuII (Phen)2 FPIMI] ClO4.2H2O from the reactions between cis-[Ru (Phen)2 Cl2].2H2O and 4- fluoro phenyl imino methyl isatin(FPIMI). The new complex was analyzed by elemental analysis and spectral (UVVis, FTIR, and 1H NMR) studies. Further, the complex was subjected to DNA intercalation studies, in vitro anticancer studies and cytotoxic activities. DNA intercalative assay was followed by UV-Vis spectral titration studies with relatively high DNA binding constant, Kb=4.1±2 105 M-1 at room temperature. The above studies showed intercalative mode of cleavage with Calf thymus(CT) DNA. The newly synthesized ruthenium(II) complex exhibited more effective in vitro cytotoxic activity against selected cell lines with IC50 value 26±0.5 μM. Also, the anticancer activity of the compound is apparently four times more potent than one of the presently used clinical drug Cisplatin against human tumor cell lines with less cytotoxicity.
