Abstract Background Post-tooth extraction, dry socket is a frequently encountered complication, causing substantial pain and hindering the healing process. Conventional approaches to manage this condition have traditionally involved the use of antiseptic dressings to diminish bacterial presence and facilitate healing. This study aims to assess the efficacy of laser therapy in the symptomatic treatment of alveolitis. Methods A literature search was conducted on PubMed, Embase, Scopus, Google Scholar, Web of Science, focusing on publications from 1998 to 31/01/2024 using relevant keywords. The combination of “laser” and “dry socket” was executed through the boolean connection AND. Results At the conclusion of the study, a total of 50 studies were identified across the three search engines, with only three selected for the current systematic study and meta-analysis. The meta-analysis indicated that laser treatment proves effective in addressing alveolitis compared to Alvogyl. However, the correlation between the two was not highly significant. Conclusion These findings suggest that laser therapy may serve as a viable alternative to traditional treatments for dry socket. This minimally invasive procedure has the potential to alleviate pain and promote healing with fewer associated side effects.”

Rendahnya hasil belajar yang didapatkan oleh siswa menandakan bahwa terdapat miskonsepsi pada siswa tersebut. Jika terjadi miskonsepsi maka akan sulit melanjutkan pembelajaran matematika pada tingkat yang lebih tinggi. Karena satu konsep matematika terkait dengan konsep matematika yang lainnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui miskonsepsi matematika siswa pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar menggunakan Certainty of Response Index (CRI) ditinjau dari perbedaan gender. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan jenis studi kasus. Instrument yang digunakan yaitu tes dan non-tes. Subjek yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu kelas VIII MTs Jamiatul Khoir dengan jumlah 27 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa gender berpengaruh terhadap miskonsepsi matematika siswa. hal ini terlihat bahwa siswa laki-laki lebih banyak mengalami miskonsepsi dibandingkan dengan siswa perempuan. Untuk siswa laki-laki mengalami miskonsepsi diantaranya yaitu miskonsepsi konsep, miskonsepsi terjemah, miskonsepsi hitung dan miskonsepsi strategi. Sementara itu, siswa perempuan mengalami jenis miskonsepsi yang diantaranya yaitu miskonsepsi tanda, miskonsepsi hitung dan miskonsepsi konsep.

Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis merupakan hal yang penting yang harus dimiliki siswa. Salah satu faktor yang mendukung siswa dalam menyelesikan masalah matematis adalah motivasi belajar. kurangnya konsentrasi saat belajar, kurang bersemangat dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, tidak berupaya untuk menyelesaikan tugas dengan baik dapat menjadi salah satu penyebab kesulitan dalam memecahkan soal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis menggunakan soal PISA konten kuantitas (quantity) yang ditinjau motivasi belajar. Penelitian ini dilakukan densn metode kualitatif jenis deskriptif. Instrument yang digunakan adalah tes dan non-tes, subjek penelitian adalah kelas XI di SMAN 1 Sukaraja yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar tinggi, memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang baik pada tahap mengenali/menyajikan masalah, mendefinisikan masalah, mengembangkan beberapa hipotesis, menguji beberapa hipotesis, dan memilih hipotesis terbaik. (2) siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar sedang, belum dapat dikatakan memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang baik dimana siswa hanya mampu mengenali/menyajikan masalah, mendefinisikan masalah, dan menguji beberapa hipotesis. (3) siswa yang memiliki motivasi belajar rendah, belum memiliki kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang baik dimana siswa belum mampu mendefinisikan masalah, mengembangkan beberapa hipotesis, menguji beberapa hipotesis, dan memilih hipotesis terbaik. The desert steppe is unique as a transition zone from the steppe to the desert of the Eurasian Steppe. The spatial distribution of shrubs and perennial plants has changed due to long-term disturbance caused by overgrazing in the ecosystem. This study aimed to determine the degree of patchiness of shrubs and perennial plants under grazing disturbance, which is of great significance to better understand the succession mechanism of plant community in the desert steppe. This study investigated the spatial distribution of shrubs and perennial plants under four stocking rates (no grazing, CK, 0 sheep·hm−2·half year−1; light grazing, LG, 0.93 sheep·hm−2·half year−1; moderate grazing, MG, 1.82 sheep·hm−2·half year−1; heavy grazing, HG, 2.71 sheep·hm−2·half year−1) in the desert steppe of Inner Mongolia, primarily using geostatistical methods. The density of perennial grasses increased with increasing stocking rate, while its height decreased (except for HG). The density and height of the shrubs and the perennial forbs showed an exponential or gradual decline. The spatial distribution of shrubs and perennial plants is mainly affected by structural factors such as topography, soil parent material, and climate, and the density of shrubs and perennial plants is most sensitive to changes in stocking rate. An appropriate stocking rate increases the spatial heterogeneity of shrubs and perennial plants, but heavy grazing reduces the spatial heterogeneity of shrubs and perennial plants.

Abstract Background Platelets play an important role in the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Mean platelet volume (MPV) is considered as biological marker of platelets activity and function. The aim of the present study was to evaluate MPV values and its possible correlation with arterial stiffness and subclinical myocardial damage, in normal glucose tolerance patients (NGT), in newly diagnosed type 2 diabetic (T2DM) patients and in individuals with pre-diabetes. Methods We enrolled 400 newly diagnosed hypertensive patients. All patients underwent an Oral Glucose Tolerance test (OGTT). 12. Food waste awareness among Italian university students: results of an online survey

IntroductionFood waste (FW) represents a significant social and environmental problem, with 1.3 billion tons of food wasted yearly worldwide. Even if consumers are increasingly aware of the phenomenon, it remains relevant, and understanding the behaviors of specific target audience segments appears instrumental to the planning of effective interventions. To this end, we designed an observational study to investigate, throughout an online questionnaire, FW-related habits of university students in a Southern Italian region.MethodsA representative sample of 431 students from the University of Catanzaro Magna Graecia completed an online survey aimed at investigate FW related behaviors. A descriptive analysis was performed on the whole cohort, and a formal statistical analysis was carried out after excluding responders who had not correctly followed the survey instructions (n = 85). Differences were assessed by chi square (χ2) tests. A food wasting score was generated, and differences in the score values were analyzed by Student T-test. Linear and multiple regression analyses were performed to identify factors contributing to the score.ResultsOverall, the results of our survey show a high prevalence of virtuous behaviors in the food purchasing phase; while, at home, less than 50% of respondents apply easy-to-implement waste prevention rules. The statistical analysis showed that the major determinants of FW were: no direct involvement in grocery shopping and male gender. Indeed, even if we observed several significant differences comparing subgroups based on established or putative determinants of FW behaviors, none survived matching for group size, gender and relevant food managing (shopping, storing, cooking) habits. The only exception was the more appropriate handling of “use by” products by respondents who received structured nutrition teaching, as opposed to students whose academic courses do not include this subject (adjusted p = 0.008).ConclusionOur data suggest that young adults are trying to implement strategies to reduce FW, even if there is room for improvement, particularly in the storage phase. Extending nutrition education to all university programs may be helpful in reaching this goal.

Land surface temperature (LST), especially day-night LST difference $\lpar {{\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm d}-{\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm n}} \rpar$, is a key variable for the stability of terrestrial ecosystems, affected by vegetation and climate change. Quantifying the contribution and feedback of vegetation and climate to LST changes is critical to developing mitigation strategies. Based on LST, Normalized vegetation index (NDVI), land use (LU), air temperature (AT) and precipitation (Pre) from 2003 to 2021, partial correlation was used to analyze the response of LST to vegetation and climate. The feedback and contribution of both to LST were further quantified by using spatial linear relationships and partial derivatives analysis. The results showed that both interannual LST $\lpar {{\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm y}} \rpar$ and ${\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm d}-{\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm n}$ responded negatively to vegetation, and vegetation had a negative feedback effect in areas with significantly altered. Vegetation was also a major contributor to the decline of ${\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm d}-{\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm n}.$ With the advantage of positive partial correlation area of 94.99%, AT became the main driving factor and contributor to ${\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm y}$ change trend. Pre contributed negatively to both ${\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm y}$ and ${\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm d}-{\rm LS}{\rm T}_{\rm n}$, with contributions of −0.004 °C/y and −0.022 °C/y, respectively. AT played a decisive role in LST warming of YRB, which was partially mitigated by vegetation and Pre. The present research contributed to the detection of LST changes and improved understanding of the driving mechanism.

20. Future variation of land surface temperature in the Yangtze River Basin based on CMIP6 model

In recent years, past changes in global and regional land surface temperatures (LST) have been well studied, however, future LST changes have been largely ignored owing to data limitations. In this study, three climate variables of CMIP6, namely air temperature (AT), precipitation (Pre), and leaf area index (LAI), were spatially corrected using the Delta downscaling method. On this basis, by combining MODIS LST, elevation, slope and aspect, a random forest (RF) model was built to calculate the LST from 2022 to 2100. The absolute variability (AV) and Mann-Kendall (M-K) tests were used to quantitatively detect interannual and seasonal LST changes in different Shared Socioeconomic Pathways (SSPs) scenarios. The results showed that the AV value increased successively from SSP1-2.6 to SSP2-4.5 and then to SSP5-8.5. Compared with the base period (2003-2021), the increment in interannual, spring, summer and autumn LST during 2022–2100 was mainly between 1 and 2 °C under three scenarios. The interannual and seasonal LST were spatially characterized by significant warming over large areas, and the increasing was the fastest under SSP5-8.5. These results indicate that, in the future, LST will increase further over large areas, especially in winter.

Balancing the risks and benefits of organophosphate pesticides (OPs) on human and environmental health relies partly on their accurate measurement. A highly sensitive fluorescence anti-quenching multi-residue bio-barcode immunoassay was developed to detect OPs (triazophos, parathion, and chlorpyrifos) in apples, turnips, cabbages, and rice. Gold nanoparticles were functionalized with monoclonal antibodies against the tested OPs. DNA oligonucleotides were complementarily hybridized with an RNA fluorescent label for signal amplification. The detection signals were generated by DNA-RNA hybridization and ribonuclease H dissociation of the fluorophore. The resulting fluorescence signal enables multiplexed quantification of triazophos, parathion, and chlorpyrifos residues over the concentration range of 0.01-25, 0.01-50, and 0.1-50 ng/mL with limits of detection of 0.014, 0.011, and 0.126 ng/mL, respectively. The mean recovery ranged between 80.3% and 110.8% with relative standard deviations of 7.3%-17.6%, which correlate well with results obtained by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The proposed bio-barcode immunoassay is stable, reproducible and reliable, and is able to detect low residual levels of multi-residue OPs in agricultural products.

Over the past 10 years, the biological role of lipid droplets (LDs) has gained significant attention in the context of both physiological and pathological conditions. Considerable progress has been made in elucidating key aspects of these organelles, yet much remains to be accomplished to fully comprehend the myriad functions they serve in the progression of hepatic tumors. Our current perception is that LDs are complex and active structures managed by a distinct set of cellular processes. This understanding represents a significant paradigm shift from earlier perspectives. In this review, we aim to recapitulate the function of LDs within the liver, highlighting their pivotal role in the pathogenesis of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) (Hsu and Loomba, 2024) and their contribution to the progression towards more advanced pathological stages up to hepatocellular carcinoma (HC) (Farese and Walther, 2009). We are aware of the molecular complexity and changes occurring in the neoplastic evolution of the liver. Our attempt, however, is to summarize the most important and recent roles of LDs across both healthy and all pathological liver states, up to hepatocarcinoma. For more detailed insights, we direct readers to some of the many excellent reviews already available in the literature (Gluchowski et al., 2017; Hu et al., 2020; Seebacher et al., 2020; Paul et al., 2022).

We study the Hull-Strominger system and the Anomaly flow on a special class of 2-step solvmanifolds, namely the class of almost-abelian Lie groups. In this setting, we characterize the existence of invariant solutions to the Hull-Strominger system with respect to the family of Gauduchon connections in the anomaly cancellation equation. Then, motivated by the results on the Anomaly flow, we investigate the flow of invariant metrics in our setting, proving that it always reduces to a flow of a special form. To date, the role of C‐peptide in preventing type 1 diabetes‐related muscle atrophy has not been investigated. Our aim was to evaluate if C‐peptide infusion prevents muscle wasting in diabetic rats. Methods Twenty‐three male Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: normal control group, diabetic group and diabetic group plus C‐peptide. Diabetes was induced by streptozotocin injection, and C‐peptide was administered subcutaneously for 6 weeks. The blood samples were obtained at baseline, before streptozotocin injection and at the end of the study to assess C‐peptide, ubiquitin and other laboratory parameters. We also tested the ability of C‐peptide to regulate the skeletal muscle mass, the ubiquitin–proteasome system, the autophagy pathway as well as to improve muscle quality. Results C‐peptide administration reversed hyperglycaemia (P = 0.02) and hypertriglyceridaemia (P = 0.01) in diabetic plus C‐peptide rats compared with diabetic control rats. The diabetic‐control animals displayed a lower weight of the muscles in the lower limb considered individually than the control rats and the diabetic plus C‐peptide rats (P = 0.03; P = 0.03; P = 0.04; P = 0.004, respectively). The diabetic‐control rats presented a significantly higher serum concentration of ubiquitin compared with the diabetic plus C‐peptide and the control animals (P = 0.02 and P = 0.01). In muscles of the lower limb, the pAmpk expression was higher in the diabetic plus C‐peptide than the diabetic‐control rats (in the gastrocnemius, P = 0.002; in the tibialis anterior P = 0.005). The protein expression of Atrogin‐1 in gastrocnemius and tibialis was lower in the diabetic plus C‐peptide than in diabetic‐control rats (P = 0.02, P = 0.03). After 42 days, the cross‐sectional area in the gastrocnemius of the diabetic plus C‐peptide group had been reduced by 6.6% while the diabetic‐control rats had a 39.5% reduction compared with the control animals (P = 0.02). 29. Effect of Combined Application of Wood Vinegar Solution and Biochar on Saline Soil Properties and Cotton Stress Tolerance

Biomass pyrolysis by-products, such as biochar (BC) and wood vinegar (WV), are widely used as soil conditioners and efficiency enhancers in agriculture. A pot experiment was conducted to examine the effects of WV, both alone and in combination with BC, on soil properties in mildly saline soil and on cotton stress tolerance. The results demonstrated that BC and WV application, either individually or together, increased soil nutrient content. The combined application was more effective than the individual applications, resulting in a 5.18–20.12% increase in organic matter, a 2.65–15.04% increase in hydrolysable nitrogen, a 2.23–58.05% increase in effective phosphorus, and a 2.71–29.38% increase in quick-acting potassium. Additionally, the combined application of WV and BC led to greater improvements in cotton plant height, net photosynthetic rate (Pn), leaf nitrate reductase (NR), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and catalase (CAT) activities compared to the application of BC or WV alone. The enhancements in this study varied across different parameters. Plant height showed an increase of 14.32–21.90%. Net photosynthetic rate improved by 13.56–17.60%. Leaf nitrate reductase increased by 5.47–37.79%. Superoxide dismutase and catalase showed improvements of 5.82–64.95% and 10.36–71.40%, respectively (p < 0.05). Moreover, the combined treatment outperformed the individual applications of WV and BC, resulting in a significant decrease in MDA levels by 2.47–51.72% over the experimental period. This combined treatment ultimately enhanced cotton stress tolerance. Using the entropy weight method to analyze the results, it was concluded that the combined application of WV and BC could enhance soil properties in mildly saline soils, increase cotton resistance, and hold significant potential for widespread application.

30. Land Surface Temperature May Have a Greater Impact than Air Temperature on the Autumn Phenology in the Tibetan Plateau

The Tibetan Plateau (TP), with its unique geographical and climatic conditions, holds a significant role in global climate change. Therefore, it is particularly urgent to fully understand its vegetation phenology. Herbaceous plants are widely distributed in the TP. However, previous studies have predominantly examined the impact of air temperature on the end date of the vegetation growing season (EOS), with less emphasis on the influence of land surface temperature (LST). In this study, the dynamic changes in the EOS from 2001 to 2020 were analyzed by utilizing the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) data published by NASA. Furthermore, the impact of climate change on the EOS was examined, and the dominant factor (air temperature, LST, or precipitation) influencing the EOS was identified. The main findings were as follows: the average annual EOS predominantly occurred between day of year (DOY) 240 and 280, with an advance from the edge of the plateau to the center. The EOS across the entire region displayed a marginal tendency towards delay, with an average rate of 0.017 days/year. Among all vegetation, shrubs showed the most pronounced delay at a rate of 0.04 days/year. In terms of precipitation, the impact of climate change increased precipitation in both summer and autumn, which could delay EOS. In terms of temperature, an increase in summer Tmin, autumn air temperatures and summer LST delayed the EOS, while an increase in autumn LST advanced the EOS. Compared to air temperature and precipitation, LST had a stronger controlling effect on the EOS (the largest pixel area dominated by LST). These results could offer new insights for enhancing the parameters of vegetation phenology models across the TP.

Foods contaminants pose a challenge for food producers and consumers. Due to its spontaneous formation during heating and storage, hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF) is a prevalent contaminant in foods rich in carbohydrates and proteins. Colorimetric assays, such as the Seliwanoff test, offer a rapid and cost-effective method for HMF quantification but require careful optimization to ensure accuracy. We addressed potential interference in the Seliwanoff assay by systematically evaluating parameters like incubation time, temperature, and resorcinol or hydrochloric acid concentration, as well as the presence of interfering carbohydrates. Samples were analyzed using a UV–Vis spectrophotometer in scan mode, and data obtained were validated using HPLC, which also enabled quantification of unreacted HMF for assessing the protocol’s accuracy. Incubation time and hydrochloric acid percentage positively influenced the colorimetric assay, while the opposite effect was observed with the increase in resorcinol concentration. Interference from carbohydrates was eliminated by reducing the acid content in the working reagent. HPLC analyses corroborated the spectrophotometer data and confirmed the efficacy of the proposed method. The average HMF content in balsamic vinegar samples was 1.97 ± 0.94 mg/mL. Spectrophotometric approaches demonstrated to efficiently determine HMF in complex food matrices. The HMF levels detected in balsamic vinegars significantly exceeded the maximum limits established for honey. This finding underscores the urgent need for regulations that restrict contaminant levels in various food products.

Diet and exercise intervention are the first strategies to counteract obesity. An online home-based exercise program may be a feasible approach in an obese population. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effects of twelve weeks of online Pilates plus diet on body composition in individuals affected by obesity. Thirty-five females were randomly assigned to a home-based Pilates group (PG, n = 18) or a group without intervention (control group, CG, n = 17). All participants followed a Mediterranean diet. The PG followed a twelve-week online Pilates Matwork program (three times/week; 180 min/week), while the CG was not involved in any structured physical exercise program. Body composition and handgrip strength were evaluated at baseline (T0) and after the intervention (T1). A significant group × time interaction (p < 0.05) was found for the fat mass percentage (pFM). Specifically, the pFM was significantly lower at T1 than at T0 in the PG. Significant group × time interactions for fat-free mass (p < 0.05), appendicular skeletal muscle mass (p < 0.05), and skeletal muscle mass (p < 0.01) were found. All these variables were significantly higher at T1 than at T0 in the PG (p < 0.05). Home-based Pilates combined with diet intervention may represent an effective strategy to improve body composition in terms of fat mass reduction and muscle mass gain in adults affected by obesity.

We study the Anomaly flow on $2$-step nilmanifolds with respect to any Hermitian connection in the Gauduchon line. In the case of flat holomorphic bundle, the general solution to the Anomaly flow is given for any initial invariant Hermitian metric. The solutions depend on two constants $K_1$ and $K_2$, and we study the qualitative behaviour of the Anomaly flow in terms of their signs, as well as the convergence in Gromov-Hausdorff topology. The sign of $K_1$ is related to the conformal invariant introduced by Fu, Wang and Wu. In the non-flat case, we find the general evolution equations of the Anomaly flow under certain initial assumptions. This allows us to detect non-flat solutions to the Hull-Strominger-Ivanov system on a concrete nilmanifold, which appear as stationary points of the Anomaly flow with respect to the Bismut connection., Comment: 34 pages. In this setting we completely characterize the long-time behaviour of the flow, showing that normalized solutions to the flow subconverge to a non-flat algebraic soliton, in Cheeger- Gromov topology. Under the background of climate change, freeze–thaw patterns tend to be turbulent: ecosystem function processes and their mutual feedback mechanisms with microorganisms in sensitive areas around the world are currently a hot topic of research. We studied changes of soil properties in alpine wetlands located in arid areas of Central Asia during the seasonal freeze–thaw period (which included an initial freezing period, a deep freezing period, and a thawing period), and analyzed changes in soil bacterial community diversity, structure, network in different stages with the help of high-throughput sequencing technology. The results showed that the α diversity of the soil bacterial community showed a continuous decreasing trend during the seasonal freeze–thaw period. The relative abundance of dominant bacterial groups (Proteobacteria (39.04%–41.28%) and Bacteroidota (14.61%–20.12%)) did not change significantly during the freeze–thaw period. At the genus level, different genera belonging to the same phylum dominated in different stages, or there were clusters of genera belonging to different phylum. For example, g_Ellin6067, g_unclassified_f_Geobacteraceae, g_unclassified_f_Gemmatimonadaceae coexisted in the same cluster, belonging to Proteobacteria, Desulfobacterota and Gemmatimonadota respectively, and their abundance increased significantly during the freezing period. This “adaptive freeze–thaw” phylogenetic model suggests a heterogeneous stress resistance of bacteria during the freeze–thaw period. In addition, network analysis showed that, although the bacterial network was affected to some extent by environmental changes during the initial freezing period and its recovery in the thawing period lagged behind, the network complexity and stability did not change much as a whole. Our results prove that soil bacterial communities in alpine wetlands are highly resistant and adaptive to seasonal freeze–thaw conditions. As far as we know, compared with short-term freeze–thaw cycles research, this is the first study examining the influence of seasonal freeze–thaw on soil bacterial communities in alpine wetlands. Overall, our findings provide a solid base for further investigations of biogeochemical cycle processes under future climate change.

Abstract Background Experimental studies suggested that high serum calcium may be important in the pathogenesis of vascular diseases. Since calcium seems to affect specifically the cerebrovascular district, aim of this study was to determine the relation between serum calcium levels, within normal range, and subclinical atherosclerosis in the carotid arteries, in a population of obese/overweight subjects. Methods In our retrospective study we included 472 subjects (59% female) with body mass index equal to or more than 25 kg/m2. They underwent a physical examination, a biochemical assessment (including calcium evaluation) and a B-mode ultrasonography of the extracranial carotid arteries to detect carotid atherosclerosis presence and to measure intima-media thickness. Results Mean age of the population was 50 ±12 years. Prevalence of the Carotid atherosclerosis was 40%. Mean carotid intima-media thickness was 0,66 ± 0,18 mm. The univariate and multivariate analysis showed an association between calcium and carotid intima-media thickness (p = 0,035). We divided the population in serum calcium tertiles. We found an higher carotid atherosclerosis prevalence in the III tertile in comparison to that of the I tertile (p = 0,039). Conclusions In this study we found a positive relation between serum calcium levels, within normal range, and subclinical atherosclerosis in the carotid arteries, in a population of obese/overweight subjects. It is important to consider the impact of the serum calcium levels in the overall risk assessment of patients, at least in obese subjects.

Understanding the intricate relationship between nutrition, hormonal balance, and gender-specific factors is crucial for developing targeted interventions to mitigate obesity-related endocrine disruptions and improve metabolic health. This narrative review examines the impact of various dietary patterns on hormonal regulation in both men and women, focusing on their effects on hormonal balance and metabolic health in the context of obesity. Calorie restriction, the Western diet, high-fat diets, low-CHO diets, plant-based diets, and the Mediterranean diet are analyzed in relation to their influence on obesity-related endocrine disruptions and metabolic health. Future research directions include investigating the specific mechanisms underlying dietary influences on hormonal regulation, addressing the gender-specific metabolic differences and body fat distribution, and exploring the dietary needs of individuals undergoing gender transition. Personalized dietary interventions tailored to individual metabolic and hormonal profiles are essential for optimizing health outcomes across the gender spectrum. By integrating gender-specific considerations into dietary recommendations, healthcare professionals can better support individuals in achieving optimal metabolic health and hormonal balance.
