Zugleich plant China im äußersten Nordosten des Himalayas einen neuen Riesenstaudamm am Fluss Brahmaputra, rasant schmelzendes Gletscherwasser zur Energiegewinnung nutzen zu können, und bedroht in der Wahrnehmung Indiens damit die Wasserversorgung auf dem Subkontinent.
