Depopulation is currently a major problem in Spain, especially in inland areas. Tourism can help alleviate this problem. Therefore, competitive advantages must be enhanced by developing a capable and sustainable tourism model that can lead to the desired level of development in a given geographical area. A powerful decision-making and diagnostic tool was created for the tourism industry in the Burgos Province, Spain to identify the key factors in tourist satisfaction, which can influence the decision to recommend and revisit a destination. This study presents this tool and a theoretical model of tourism satisfaction. The findings emphasize the significance of the perception that tourists have of the quality of a destination's goods and services and its impact on satisfaction. Enhancing tourist satisfaction can have important implications for improving tourism management and, consequently, addressing the depopulation problem., La despoblación es actualmente uno de los principales problemas que deben ser afrontados, especialmente en zonas de interior. El turismo es un sector que puede ayudar a aliviar este problema. Por tanto, sería conveniente potenciar las ventajas competitivas mediante un modelo turístico competente y sostenible que permita alcanzar un deseado nivel de desarrollo en una determinada zona geográfica. El trabajo implementa una poderosa herramienta de diagnóstico y de toma de decisiones para la actividad turística de la provincia de Burgos (España), identificando los factores clave en la satisfacción del turista, los cuales pueden ser decisivos en la decisión de recomendar y revisitar el destino seleccionado. Para ello, el trabajo presenta un modelo teórico de satisfacción turística. Los resultados destacan la importancia de la percepción del turista sobre los servicios del destino y sobre la calidad de los productos, así como su impacto en la satisfacción. Así que, mejorar esta calidad puede tener importantes implicaciones en mejorar la eficiencia de la gestión turística y, consecuentemente, en un mejor tratamiento del problema de la despoblación.

[EN] Low class attendance by university students is one of the factors that may be related to abandonment ratios, which constitute a serious socio-economic issue. The aim of this work is to confront the influence of the time management capacity of first-year students with their class attendance. With a factorial analysis of a survey carried out, four factors emerged: the students' perception of how they manage their time, the time they spend on less productive tasks, the ability to finish tasks on time and the use of time management tools. Moreover, with classification trees it was seen that students who are able to finish the tasks on time, have a greater capacity for concentration and spend less time on trivial tasks, have higher class attendance. With these profiles identified is expected to guide them to improve their time management, increase their class attendance and, as a consequence, decrease dropout rates

The aim of this work is to analyze the effect of face-to-face, blended and on-line scenarios on students’ academic results considering the interaction with e-learning platforms. The results show that academic results are not affected by the learning scenario, while the degree of interaction with e-learning platforms is affected by the learning scenario. Furthermore, Treatment Effects model has been used to study the learning scenario and the interaction with e-learning platforms together. In this case, the academic results are affected by the on-line versus the face-to-face scenario but are not affected by the blended versus the face-to-face scenario. Specifically, on an average value of 4,14 points, obtained from the academic results of all students, with an on-line treatment, the results drop 1,01 points (24,41%), while with a blended treatment, the results drop 0,38 points (9,13%). Finally, utilizing Fractional Polynomial Extended Regress, prediction models are proposed for each of the scenarios., El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar el efecto de los escenarios presencial, mixto y on-line en los resultados académicos de los estudiantes considerando la interacción con plataformas e-learning. Los resultados muestran que los resultados académicos no se ven afectados por el escenario de aprendizaje, mientras que el grado de interacción con las plataformas e-learning se ve afectado por el escenario de aprendizaje. Además, el modelo de Efectos de Tratamiento se ha utilizado para estudiar el escenario de aprendizaje y la interacción con las plataformas de aprendizaje de manera conjunta. En este caso, los resultados académicos se ven afectados por el escenario on-line frente al presencial, pero no se ven afectados por el escenario mixto frente al presencial. En concreto, sobre un valor medio de 4,14 puntos, obtenido de los resultados académicos de todos los alumnos, con un tratamiento on-line los resultados bajan 1,01 puntos (24,41%), mientras que con un tratamiento mixto los resultados bajan 0,38 puntos (9,13%). Finalmente, utilizando la Regresión Extendida Polinomial Fraccionaria, se proponen modelos de predicción para cada uno de los escenarios.

Although the Internet and e-commerce have contributed positively to the tourism sector, there is not much empirical research on the transformation of distribution channels or that considers the use of the Internet in travel planning as an antecedent of tourist satisfaction and loyalty. This paper aims to test the influence of online distribution channels in trip planning by tourists on their general satisfaction level and their loyalty towards the destination and to differentiate the profile of digital and traditional tourists. Quantitative research techniques are used to analyse the dataset of 1,387 surveys of tourists visiting the province of Burgos, Spain. Among those surveyed, 65% search for information online and 54% book or pay for services online. According to ordinal regression analysis, the use of online channels does not significantly influence the level of satisfaction, but according to binary logistic regression, it does significantly influence loyalty. The findings provide valuable information for developing marketing strategies in tourism organisations and support decision-makers in creating competitive tourism destinations that are resilient to the demographic challenge of depopulation., A pesar de que Internet y el comercio electrónico han contribuido positivamente al sector turístico, no existen muchas investigaciones empíricas sobre la transformación de los canales de distribución ni que consideren el uso de Internet en la planificación del viaje como un antecedente de la satisfacción y lealtad del turista. Este trabajo pretende comprobar la influencia de los canales de distribución online en la planificación del viaje de los turistas sobre su nivel de satisfacción global y su lealtad al destino y diferenciar el perfil de los turistas digitales y tradicionales. Se utilizan técnicas de investigación cuantitativa para analizar el conjunto de datos formado por 1.387 encuestas de turistas que visitan la provincia de Burgos, España. Entre los encuestados, el 65% busca información online y el 54% reserva o paga servicios online. Según el análisis de regresión ordinal, el uso de los canales en línea no influye significativamente en el nivel de satisfacción, pero según la regresión logística binaria, influye significativamente en la lealtad. This paper shows the growing importance of the commitment of people and organizations to continuous personal, institutional and social improvement in order to generate sustainable value. It analyzes the evolution of the concept of quality in the different development stages of the organizations and specifies the main systems of recognition of quality and excellence at a global level, obtaining the results of the recognitions with the systems of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and European Foundation Quality Management (EFQM) both by sectors and by countries in the last years. The progress has been significant and there is still a long way to go to achieve, as far as possible, the Sustainable Development Goals proposed by the United Nations for 2030. The proposal for the new EFQM Model will undoubtedly contribute to achieving the SDGs. Because the model offers a framework and methodology to help with the changes, transformation and disruption that people and organizations face every day by measuring where they are on the path to sustainable value creation.
