EnglishThis article presents what is understood as the “atheism of the French philosopher Michel Onfray”. To do so, become an investigation based on the work Treaty of Ateology in order to evaluate points of its reflections. Because Onfray blames Christian, Jewish and Islamic monotheisms for introjecting the consciences of guilt, sin and the pulse of death, preventing men from reconciling with what they understand as reality. The study of onfraryan philosophy does not yet lead to the thesis that its materialist ontology presupposes the insertion of an ethical-hedonistic plan, capable of overcoming the psychological problems caused by monotheistic religions. In sequence, the critical analysis has the contribution of authors Irene Fernandez and Mathieu Baumier. The intention is to show how the arguments capable of pointing out a religious intolerance can also be motivated by the passionate contempt for religious life, consequently affecting the foundations willing to prove it possible to exist a world without gods, beliefs or religions. portuguesO presente artigo apresenta aquilo que se compreende como o “ateismo do filosofo Michel Onfray”.

This article has as purpose expose and discuss the results of an inquiry that has as general point analyze a work with financial education in a didactic books collection of mathematics in the early years of elementary school, after obligatoriness of discussions about this thematic in official forms. With a rampant consumption and a big influence of the middle, the financial education proposes to contribute for the social and economic development of the society, stimulating to look with a critical look for these questions. The research was based in the qualitative approach and in the methodology of documental analysis. On this case, was analyzed didactic mathematics books approved by the PNLD (2019), making sure the analysis of activities existing in the before mentioned didactic books, that are based in the content’s analysis. The results show us that, in comparison with the state of Santos (2017) that analyzed too the financial education in didactic books of mathematics in the early years of elementary school) the quantity of activities founded was bigger, and this is a big indicative that the space for this discussion increased (these results are from a research before the obligatoriness of these discussions). Meanwhile, we defend that the financial education isn’t still treated with a big and due attention and caution by the didactic books. We can prove it by the low variety of thematic about this subject, the necessity to consult the manual of the teacher to have a bigger reflection about this and the exact orientation of work with a financial education.

The most cruel problems in the world are the ones that happens beyond our sight in the dark. There are some savage monsters in this beautiful world that does kidnapping, harassment and what not. There are apps out there which gets the location and sends a message to the nearby police station, family and friends but these kind of things always tend to happen when they're all away. So it will be too late for the police to reach the scene. Have any kidnaps been seen nearby a police station? Of course not!. They dare to do these by thinking that no one sees them. Well let's say no to that anymore. The solution is ‘SENTINEL’. The Sentinel app alerts the locals of that particular area where the victim is stuck with just a click of a button. It will keep the victim informed about how may rescuers are alerted, how many are on-scene and whether the police are alerted or not. The locals are responsible to keep their area safe. So in turn this app gives them a chance to prove it and be the hero of their own locality.

This research is a study about the Scale that Allah puts for weighing of people’s deeds on Day of Judgment, and the obligation of believing in the existence of that Scale, and the consensus of the Sunnis to prove it as it is a part of one the pillars of Faith in Day of Judgement. This researcher has found: The Scale is a real scale that is proven to be true based on many evidences in Quran and Sunnah. The Scale is one, and it has two real pans, the Scale mentioned sometimes as plural was to refer to the weighed deeds or the big number of people who has their deeds weighed. What is weighed by the Scale is: the doer, the deed and the books of deeds all together, according to studied evidences related to that. Allah establishes the Scale on the Judgement Day for great purposes, one of them is showing Allah’s fairness, grace and generosity for his worshipers.

Evidence of evidence has been legislated to protect rights in general, because the right is stripped of its power if evidence is not established to prove it and proving death disease is one of the most applicable and most vital legal issues. The heir or creditor is the one who is often harmed by the behavior of the patient, the disease of death, so the person charged with proving the disease is the heir or the stakeholder who claims that the disposal of the death sickness took place and requests that it not be enforced because he is a claimant. Death illness is a material event that may be proven by all means of proof, including evidence, presumptions, and medical certificates indicating the patient’s condition at the end of his life, as well as the testimonies of witnesses about the patient’s condition in his last days followed by death. Or whoever has an interest in the appeal, then these have to challenge the behavior of his chest in the disease of death, so it is necessary to highlight the proof of the disease of death in Islamic jurisprudence, and under Arab laws such as the Jordanian law, the Egyptian law, and other Arab legislation.

In this paper, we study the two-player generalized cops and robbers (GCR) games introduced by Bonato and MacGillivray. Our main goals are to provide: (a) a game-theoretic formulation of GCR and (b) a self-contained game-theoretic proof that GCR has a value and an optimal strategy profile. To achieve our goals, we first formulate GCR (and CR as a special case) as a zero-sum stochastic game. Then we study a Vertex Labeling (VL) algorithm and prove it computes the value of the GCR game (for every starting “condition”) and that the vertex labels can be used to specify a positional deterministic optimal strategy for each player. We also compare our game-theoretic analysis to some of the usual graph theoretic/combinatorial approaches to CR/GCR.

The study focuses on professional self-determination formation in high school students as a corre-lation between their anxiety and self-esteem is considered to be highly important in the study of human resources. The purpose of the study is to determine on the basis of theoretical arguments a correlation between self-esteem and state anxiety in students in the process of professional self-determination and prove it with an experiment. The study was conducted in Kuzino State School 36 of the Sverdlovsk Region. The study was carried out in three stages: desktop analysis, experimental research, and data analysis. The research comprised empirical methods in the form of an ascertaining experiment and testing, statistical and mathematical methods in the form of Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, and three techniques: the Dembo-Rubinstein technique for self-esteem evaluation modified by A.M. Prikhozhan, the Kazantseva technique for general self-esteem assessment, and the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, developed by C.D. Spielberger and modified by Yu.L. Khanin. The research on self-esteem of students in the process of professional self-determination showed the following findings. Based on the Dembo-Rubinstein technique, average self-esteem prevails among study subjects (67%); moreover, the Kazantseva technique demonstrated the prevalence of average self-esteem among high school students as well (63%). The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory also showed that most of the subjects (68%) had an average level of anxiety. In the study, experiments were performed and levels of self-esteem and state anxiety in professional self-deter-mination formation were determined; a correlation between self-esteem and state anxiety was proven. Study findings demonstrated that most students had average self-esteem and average state anxiety. Thus, according to Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, there is indeed a correlation between self-esteem and state anxiety in students in the process of professional self-determination.

A proper total weighting of a graph G is a mapping φ which assigns to each vertex and each edge of G a real number as its weight so that for any edge uv of G, Σe ∈ E(v) φ(e)+φ(v) ≠ Σe ∈ E(u)φ(e)+φ(u). A (k,k')-list assignment of G is a mapping L which assigns to each vertex v a set L(v) of k permissible weights and to each edge e a set L(e) of k' permissible weights. An L-total weighting is a total weighting φ with φ(z) ∈ L(z) for each z ∈ V(G) ∪ E(G). A graph G is called (k,k')-choosable if for every (k,k')-list assignment L of G, there exists a proper L-total weighting. As a strenghtening of the well-known 1-2-3 conjecture, it was conjectured in [Wong and Zhu, Total weight choosability of graphs, J. Graph Theory 66 (2011), 198-212] that every graph without isolated edge is (1,3)-choosable. It is easy to verified this conjecture for trees, however, to prove it for wheels seemed to be quite non-trivial. In this paper, we develop some tools and techniques which enable us to prove this conjecture for generalized Halin graphs.

We study the $l$-adic cohomology of unramified Rapoport-Zink spaces of EL-type. These spaces were used in Harris and Taylor's proof of the local Langlands correspondence for $\mathrm{GL_n}$ and to show local-global compatibilities of the Langlands correspondence. In this paper we consider certain morphisms, $\mathrm{Mant}_{b, \mu}$, of Grothendieck groups of representations constructed from the cohomology of the above spaces, as studied by Harris and Taylor, Mantovan, Fargues, Shin, and others. Due to earlier work of Fargues and Shin we have a description of $\mathrm{Mant}_{b, \mu}(\rho)$ for $\rho$ a supercuspidal representation. In this paper, we give a conjectural formula for $\mathrm{Mant}_{b, \mu}(\rho)$ for all $\rho$ and prove it when $\rho$ is essentially square integrable. Our proof works for general $\rho$ conditionally on a conjecture appearing in Shin's work. We show that our description agrees with a conjecture of Harris in the case of parabolic inductions of supercuspidal representations of a Levi subgroup., Comment: 50 pages, published version

We provide three new examples of twisted Hilbert spaces by considering properties that are "close" to Hilbert. We denote them \(Z(\mathcal J)\), \(Z(\mathcal S^2)\) and \(Z(\mathcal T_s^2)\). The first space is asymptotically Hilbertian but not weak Hilbert. On the opposite side, \(Z(\mathcal S^2)\) and \(Z(\mathcal T_s^2)\) are not asymptotically Hilbertian. Moreover, the space \(Z(\mathcal T_s^2)\) is a HAPpy space and the technique to prove it gives a "twisted" version of a theorem of Johnson and Szankowski (Ann. of Math. 176:1987-2001, 2012). This is, we can construct a nontrivial twisted Hilbert space such that the isomorphism constant from its \(n\)-dimensional subspaces to \(\ell_2^n\) grows to infinity as slowly as we wish when \(n\to \infty\).

By a theorem of Andreotti and Grauert if $\omega $ is a $(p,q)$ current, $q < n,$ in a Stein manifold $\displaystyle \Omega ,\ \bar \partial $ closed and with compact support, then there is a solution $u$ to $\bar \partial u=\omega $ still with compact support in $\displaystyle \Omega .$ The main result of this work is to show that if moreover $\displaystyle \omega \in L^{r}(m),$ where $m$ is a suitable Lebesgue measure on the Stein manifold, then we have a solution $u$ with compact support {\sl and} in $L^{s}(m),\ \frac{1}{s}=\frac{1}{r}-\frac{1}{2(n+1)}.$ We prove it by estimates in $L^{r}$ spaces with weights., Comment: Thanks to the referee, the presentation is highly enhanced and some typos are fixed. We consider a new type of asymmetric rendezvous search problem in which player II needs to give player I a ‘gift’ which can be in the form of information or material. The gift can either be transfered upon meeting, as in traditional rendezvous, or it can be dropped off by player II at a location he passes, in the hope it will be found by player I. The gift might be a water bottle for a traveller lost in the desert; a supply cache for Captain Scott in the Antarctic; or important information (left as a gift). The common aim of the two players is to minimize the time taken for I to either meet II or find the gift. We find optimal agent paths and drop off times when the search region is a line, the initial distance between the players is known and one or both of the players can leave gifts. A novel and important technique introduced in this paper is the use of families of linear programs to solve this and previous rendezvous problems. Previously, the approach was to guess the answer and then prove it was optimal. Our work has applications to other forms of rendezvous on the line: we can solve the symmetric version (players must use the same strategy) with two gifts and we show that there are no asymmetric solutions to this two gifts problem. We also solve the GiftStart problem, where the gift or gifts must be dropped at the start of the game. Furthermore, we can solve the Minmax version of the game where the objective function is to minimize the maximum rendezvous time. This problem admits variations where players have 0 , 1 or 2 gifts at disposal. In particular, we show that the classical Wait For Mommy strategy is optimal for this setting.

IN AN AGE PROPPED UP BY quintillions of solid-state devices, should you even care about vacuum tubes? You definitely should! For richness, drama, and sheer brilliance, few technological timelines can match the 116-year (and counting) history of the vacuum tube. To prove it, I've assembled a list of vacuum devices that over the past 60 or 70 years inarguably changed the world. • And just for good measure, you'll also find here a few tubes that are too unique, cool, or weird to languish in obscurity. • Of course, anytime anyone offers up a list of anything—the comfiest trail-running shoes, the most authentic Italian restaurants in Cleveland, movies that are better than the book they're based on—someone else is bound to weigh in and either object or amplify. So, to state the obvious: This is my list of vacuum tubes. But I'd love to read yours. Feel free to add it in the comments section of the online version of this article (where you will find two more tubes not included in print). • My list isn't meant to be comprehensive. Here you'll find no gas-filled glassware like Nixie tubes or thyratrons, no “uber high” pulsed-power microwave devices, no cathode-ray display tubes. I intentionally left out well-known tubes, such as satellite traveling-wave tubes and microwave-oven magnetrons. And I've pretty much stuck with radio-frequency tubes, so I'm ignoring the vast panoply of audio-frequency tubes—with one notable exception. • But even within the parameters I've chosen, there are so many amazing devices that it was rather hard to pick just nine of them. So here's my take, in no particular order, on some tubes that made a difference.

Teaching writing to Informatics Engineering students has its uniqueness when it comes to what specific issue(s) the students are facing and how to cope with them. This study aims at finding out some feedback for the author’s previous teaching practices in writing a descriptive text which becomes the basis to give an exact intervention as well as to find out whether the intervention is able to improve the students’ skills in writing a descriptive text. This is exploratory action research to the 30 students of the third semester in the Informatics Engineering study program of a private university in Indonesia. To gain feedback on the previous instructional practices, a senior colleague is invited as a consultant and an open-ended questionnaire was distributed to the students. Some issues were found. After a deep discussion with the senior colleague, it is concluded that project-based activities could cope with the issues. To prove it, a writing test and open-ended interview were conducted. During the instructional practices, a collaborator was invited to observe using an observation sheet. The result revealed that project-based activities engaged the students and directed them in accomplishing the task. The test also showed improvement in students’ average scores. These findings proved that implementing project-based activities can improve the students’ skills in writing a descriptive text. We present a formalization of HOπ in Coq, a process calculus where messages carry processes. Such a higher-order calculus features two very different kinds of binder: process input, similar to λ-abstraction, and name restriction, whose scope can be expanded by communication. For the latter, we compare four approaches to represent binders: locally nameless, de Bruijn indices, nominal, and Higher-Order Abstract Syntax. In each case, we formalize strong context bisimi-larity and prove it is compatible, i.e., closed under every context, using Howe's method, based on several proof schemes we developed in a previous paper.

In this paper, we investigate the properties of certain quantum invariants of links by using the HOMFLY skein theory. First, we obtain the limit behavior for the full colored HOMFLYPT invariant which is the natural generalization of the colored HOMFLYPT invariant. Then we focus on the composite invariant which is a certain combination of the full colored HOMFLYPT invariants. Motivated by the study of the Labastida–Marino–Ooguri–Vafa conjecture for the framed composite invariants of links, we introduce the notion of reformulated composite invariant $$\check{{\mathcal {R}}}_{p}({\mathcal {L}};q,a)$$ . By using the HOMFLY skein theory, we prove that $$\check{{\mathcal {R}}}_{p}({\mathcal {L}};q,a)$$ actually lies in the integral ring $$2{\mathbb {Z}}[(q-q^{-1})^2,a^{\pm 1}]$$ . Finally, we propose a conjectural congruence skein relation for $$\check{{\mathcal {R}}}_{p}({\mathcal {L}};q,a)$$ and prove it for certain special cases.

This paper proposes an online leasing problem considering both price fluctuations and the second-hand transaction. In the studied problem, the price of the required equipment is assumed to fluctuate over time and lie in a predetermined range [1, M]. Moreover, the price between two adjacent times is controlled within an acceptable range [1/α, α]. The equipment can be sold through second-hand transaction after its end of use. The selling price in the second-hand transaction is assumed to vary along with the price fluctuations. The aim of this paper is to find the best possible online leasing strategy which generates a minimal cost for using the equipment. We present an online leasing algorithm for solving this problem and prove it to be the optimal online algorithm. Computational experiments are conducted to evaluate the characteristics of the problem and the performance of the proposed online leasing algorithm.

In this article, we obtain the adjoint difference equation for the Nikiforov–Uvarov–Suslov difference equation of hypergeometric type on non-uniform lattices, and prove it to be a difference equation of hypergeometric type on non-uniform lattices as well. The particular solutions of the adjoint difference equation are then obtained. As an application of these particular solutions, we use them to obtain the particular solutions for the original difference equation of hypergeometric type on non-uniform lattices. In addition, we give another kind of fundamental theorems for the Nikiforov–Uvarov–Suslov difference equation of hypergeometric type, which are essentially new results and their expressions are different from the Suslov Theorem. Finally, we give an example to illustrate the application of the new fundamental theorems.

Dynamic Grobner Basis algorithms aim to obtain small reduced Grobner Bases in terms of number of polynomials and monomials. Dynamic algorithms allowing previous leading monomials to change during the execution, called unrestricted algorithms, are underexplored in the literature and the only previous unrestricted algorithm was not implemented. In this paper, we introduce a definition of neighborhoods for monomial orderings, prove it is well-behaved with respect to the commonly used Hilbert heuristic, propose new unrestricted algorithms based on these neighborhoods and compare them experimentally to some previous dynamic algorithms. Our results show that simple unrestricted algorithms based on random sampling often lead to small output bases containing polynomials of low degree, with little overhead.

BACKGROUND: Pseudoexfoliative material is being implicated in causing tear film abnormalities, and the aim of the present study was to prove it and to compare with the normal healthy participants. METHODS: A total of 398 eyes of 200 participants were studied, and two groups were formed. The first, pseudoexfoliation syndrome (PEXS) group, included 198 eyes of 100 patients, and the second, age-matched control group, included 200 eyes of 100 participants. Tear film abnormalities were compared in the two groups by tear meniscus height (TMH), Schirmer test I, Schirmer test II and tear film break-up time (TBUT). RESULTS: On comparing the two groups using independent t-test, a significant difference was found in Schirmer test I, Schirmer test II, and TBUT between the PEXS group (Schirmer test I: 23.98 ± 10.68 mm, Schirmer test II: 17.11 ± 8.78 mm, and TBUT: 9.778 ± 5.54 s) and the age-matched control group (Schirmer test I: 27.08 ± 9.58 mm, Schirmer test II: 19.98 ± 8.48 mm, and TBUT: 13.495 ± 5.65 s) (p = 0.003 [Schirmer test I]; p = 0.001 [Schirmer test II]; and p

International audience; In the present contribution, we consider Helmholtz equation with material coefficients being constants in each subdomain of a geometric partition of the propagation medium (discarding the presence of junctions), and we are interested in the numerical solution of such a problem by means of local multi-trace boundary integral formulations (local-MTF). For a one dimensional problem and configurations with two subdomains, it has been recently established that applying a Jacobi iterative solver to local-MTF is exactly equivalent to an Optimised Schwarz Method (OSM) with a non-local impendance. In the present contribution, we show that this correspondance still holds in the case where the subdomain partition involves an arbitrary number of subdomains. From this, we deduce that the depth of the adjacency graph of the subdomain partition plays a critical role in the convergence of linear solvers applied to local-MTF: we prove it for the case of homogeneous propagation medium and show, through numerical evidences, that this conclusion still holds for heterogeneous media. Our study also shows that, considering variants of local-MTF involving a relaxation parameter, there is a fixed value of this relaxation parameter that systematically leads to optimal speed of convergence for linear solvers.

In this article, we obtain a new fundamental theorems for Nikiforov–Uvarov–Suslov complex difference equation of hypergeometric type by the method of Euler integral transformation, its expression is different from Suslov’s Theorem. We also establish the adjoint equation for Nikiforov–Uvarov–Suslov difference equation of hypergeometric type on non-uniform lattices, and prove it to be a difference equation of hypergeometric type on non-uniform lattices as well. A key issue when planning and writing up research is explaining what the expected or actual contributions are. It is often particularly difficult to identify what theoretical contributions the research hopes to make. When authors submit work for publication, reviewers and editors often ask them to ensure their work “engages with and/or contributes to ongoing conversations” in their target journal. What they are really asking is “what is your positioning? Why does your work belong in this journal?” This paper takes a practical approach to explaining what positioning means, why it is important to identify and position research as fitting into and extending prior work, and what positioning involves. It concludes by providing practical tips to help researchers who are not yet confident authors position their work more theoretically.

Nonsteroidal antiinflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are among the most frequently used pharmaceuticals. Nevertheless, a number of studies emphasized that NSAIDs were damaging not only the gastrointestinal (GI), but also the cardiovascular (CV) system, could increase the blood pressure, the frequency of coronary events (angina, myocardial infarction) and stroke incidence, as well as they might deteriorate renal functions. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) did not find evidence that administering NSAIDs could increase the risk of developing COVID-19 or worsened the condition of COVID-19 patients. However, unwanted effects of specific drugs differ substantially in their occurrence and seriousness as well. It seemed to be for a long time that the NSAIDs provoked higher GI-risk was closely related to the COX1/COX2 selectivity, like the cardiovascular (CV) risk to the COX2/COX1 selectivity, however, the recent data did not prove it clearly. Based on the available literature while pondering the gastrointestinal and cardiovascular adverse events, among all NSAIDs the aceclofenac profile seemed to be the most favourable. © 2020 Literatura Medica Publishing House. We consider the equation $(\partial_t + \rho(\sqrt{-\Delta}))f(t,x) = \mathbf 1_\omega u(t,x)$, $x\in \mathbb R$ or $\mathbb T$. We prove it is not null-controllable if $\rho$ is analytic on a conic neighborhood of $\mathbb R_+$ and $\rho(\xi) = o(|\xi|)$. The proof relies essentially on geometric optics, i.e.\ estimates for the evolution of semiclassical coherent states. The method also applies to other equations. The most interesting example might be the Kolmogorov-type equation $(\partial_t -\partial_v^2 + v^2\partial_x)f(t,x,v) = \mathbf 1_\omega u(t,x,v)$ for $(x,v)\in \Omega_x\times \Omega_v$ with $\Omega_x = \mathbb R$ or $\mathbb T$ and $\Omega_v = \mathbb R$ or $(-1,1)$. We prove it is not null-controllable in any time if $\omega$ is a vertical band $\omega_x\times \Omega_v$. The idea is to remark that, for some families of solutions, the Kolmogorov equation behaves like the rotated fractional heat equation $(\partial_t + \sqrt i(-\Delta)^{1/4})g(t,x) = \mathbf 1_\omega u(t,x)$, $x\in \mathbb T$.

In this paper we study a nonlinear free boundary problem for radially symmetric growth of tumors with necrosis. We show this problem is globally well-posed and find a threshold value σ ∗ > 0 , such that if and only if external nutrient supply σ ≥ σ ∗ , there exists a unique necrotic stationary solution. We prove it is globally asymptotically stable. For σ σ ∗ , asymptotic behavior of transient solution has been studied. The connection and mutual transition between necrotic and nonnecrotic tumors are also given.

A necessary big step up in the modern water wave theories and their widespread application in ocean engineering is how to obtain 6-wave resonance conditions and to prove it. In the light of the existing forms and characteristics of 3-wave, 4-wave and 5-wave resonance conditions, the 6-wave resonance conditions are proposed and proved for currently a maximum wave-wave resonance interactions of the ocean surface gravity waves in deep water, which will be indispensable to both the Kolmogorov spectrum of the corresponding universal wave turbulence and a synthetic 4-5-6-wave resonant model for the ocean surface gravity waves.

This work addresses the potential for a frameup attack through the use of a programmable USB e.g., a ‘Rubber Ducky’ to plant false evidence on someone else's computer. The aim is to determine who performed these actions, the human or the Rubber Ducky. Experiments were undertaken where a human interacted with a computer and a Rubber Ducky performed the same actions using identical computers, with identical baseline configurations, to detect differences in the artifacts left behind in each case. Forensics images generated from each experiment were analysed using forensics tools. Our findings pose the question can a programmable USB device be used to masquerade as a human, and can the forensic analyst or legal counsel make informed decisions about the provenance of any artifacts identified, as the expert may not be able to differentiate between the actions of the human user or the programmable USB, which could lead to a miscarriage of justice. This work alerts investigators and experts to the potential presence of a programmable USB device, and presents some artifacts that show that a programmable USB could have carried out these actions, which might prevent an innocent individual being wrongfully convicted of a crime they did not commit.

Aim Flexible Nasoendoscope (FNE) is an essential device routinely used to assess patients who present acutely to the Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department with signs and symptoms of ENT pathologies that may compromise the patient’s airway. It is imperative the scope is decontaminated before and after each use. The “Tristel Trio Wipe” decontamination methodology is employed by most ENT departments in UK and the process utilises an audit logbook to correctly document the sterilisation process as well as allowing accurate patient traceability. The audit aim was to conduct a review of documentation of patient traceability and FNE sterilisation after each use on ENT patients in the acute setting. Method Retrospective audit over one-month periods 11/10/2019 –10/11/2019 (Audit 1) and 26/12/2019 – 21/01/2020 (audit 2). Tristel audit logbook and electronic patient note on PPM+ were used for data collection. Data was analysed using Microsoft excel. Results 100% of FNE decontaminations used correct Tristel Trio Wipes. However, audit one demonstrated 54.5% compliance with correct documentation of FNE sterilisation process and 0% had recorded all traceability information. Following intervention of easier identification of FNE scopes and their storage; as well teaching ENT Senior House Officers and registrar about the correct documentation of decontamination process, compliance improved to 81%, while traceability increased to 39% during the re-audit. Conclusions As a department, we have significantly improved our compliance with both correct documentation of FNE sterilisation and patient traceability information following the intervention above. A further 3rd audit cycle is planned.

The goal of this research was to carry out a systematic review to verify the possible influence of occlusal factors on the occurrence of gingival recession and noncarious cervical lesions. To answer the specific research question—whether gingival recession or noncarious cervical lesions on teeth are present under occlusal trauma—a bibliographic search was conducted at MEDLINE/PubMed, Web of Science, and Gray Literature databases focusing on articles published, following strict inclusion criteria based on randomized clinical trials, controlled clinical studies, and case series, with restricted language (English) and publication date between March 2010 and March 2020, considering patients with occlusal trauma and gingival recession/noncarious cervical injuries. Questionnaires, animal or laboratory studies, case reports, and interviews were excluded. First, the title and/or abstract of the articles obtained were analyzed and, finally, a full-text reading was performed. Given the amount and diversity of the final studies, a qualitative analysis was made. Based on the established criteria, it was possible to obtain an initial 757 articles. After screening, five articles were included, and then qualitative analysis was performed. The results described in the articles were different, given the heterogeneity of the articles subjected to analysis. A few studies were published in the past 10 years, suggesting that the traumatic occlusion seems to be associated with the occurrence of the noncarious cervical lesion while it is not possible to arrive at a conclusion with regard to the association of gingival recession and occlusal trauma. Key Message Even though many professionals have categorically affirmed that there is a relation between trauma occlusal and gingival recession/noncarious cervical lesion, this systematic review found the absence of strong literature to really prove it. Once defined, it allows the therapeutic focus to centre on the causal or contributing factors and preventing or reducing future recurrence.

This paper argues that current voting advice applications (VAAs) do not sufficiently fulfil their stated aim of increasing voters' political competence. First, we define four criteria to evaluate whether their methods are likely to increase political competence: informativeness, respect for users' way of comparing and aggregating policy issues, reliability, and transparency. Second, we argue that current VAAs compare and aggregate users' and parties' policy preferences following a weak method that fails in two of them. To prove it, we analyse the methodology of most currents VAAs and use the outcomes from the EU-Vox 2014 in several countries. Third, we discuss two possibilities by which VAAs could improve: (1) by using ex-ante survey data to fill their gaps, or (2) by creating a learning algorithm to adapt the VAA to users' preferences. We found that some changes need to be made if VAAs aim to have an impact on users' political competence.

When can cooperation arise from self-interested decisions in public goods games? And how can we help agents to act cooperatively? We examine these classical questions in a pivotal participation game, a variant of public good games, where heterogeneous agents make binary participation decisions on contributing their endowments, and the public project succeeds when it has enough contributions. We prove it is NP-complete to decide the existence of a cooperative Nash equilibrium such that the project succeeds. We also identify two natural special scenarios where this decision problem is tractable. We then propose two algorithms to help cooperation in the game. Our first algorithm adds an external investment to the public project, and our second algorithm uses matching funds. We show that the cost to induce a cooperative Nash equilibrium is near-optimal for both algorithms. Finally, the cost of matching funds can always be smaller than the cost of adding an external investment. Intuitively, matching funds provide a greater incentive for cooperation than adding an external investment does., Comment: 14 pages, 1 figure, accepted at IJCAI'21: International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence

Direct perception can be considered as the one and only dependable way to acquire knowledge from the surrounding. Though, in common sense, with the term "direct perception" "seeing an object" is understood but actually it also includes the process of acquiring knowledge through hearing , smelling, touching , taking taste through the sense organs other than the eyes, viz. ears, nose, skin and tongue. An individual acquires knowledge of an object in existence through the five sense organs. But the practical experience establish that, an object , even in existence, may not be able to prove it's existence through direct perception due to a number of factors. A substance can not be seen if it is too small or too large, a sound can not be perceived if it is of low pitch, smell can not be got if it is coming from a distance, a substance can not be touched if it is being pressed with another substance, taste can not be taken if the sample can not be got. Interestingly Charaka, the founder of Indian Medicine has explained the obstacles of direct perception under the heading "PRATYAKSHYANUPALABDHI" which proves the depth of knowledge and observation of the ancient scholars.

During the last decades, proteomics approaches has become in a fundamental tool to unravel the proteins dynamic of biological processes, being an essential technique for basic and applied research [1-4]. Diverse bioinformatic tools are required to manage and explore the huge amount of information obtained from a single proteomics experiment. To gain insight into potential applications of the identified proteins, a novel approach named "Applied Proteomics" has been developed by comparing the obtained protein information with the existing patents database. The development of massive sequencing technology and MS/MS improvements has allowed the application of proteomic of non-model microorganisms, which have been deeply described as a novel source of metabolites [5-8]. Between them, Nannochloropsis gaditana that has been pointed out as an alternative source of biomolecules [9-13]. Recently, our research group has reported the first complete proteome analysis of this microalga [14], which was analysed using the applied proteomics concept with the identification of 488 proteins with potential industrial applications. To validate our approach, we select UCA01 protein from prohibitin family. The recombinant protein showed its antitumor activity against two tumor cell lines, Caco2 (colon adenocarcinoma) and HepG-2 (hepatocellular carcinoma), proving that proteome data has been transformed into relevant biotechnological information. In summary, the framework of the European Union “Blue growth” politicies, the revalorization of microalgae biomass is crucial point. From Nannochloropsis gaditana has been developed a new tool against cancer, the protein named UCA01. This protein has selective effect inhibiting the growth of tumour cells, while does not show any effect over control cells. This approach describes the first practical approach to transform proteome information in a potential industrial application, named “applied proteomics”. It is based in a novel bio-algorism, which is able to identified proteins with potential industrial applications. From hundreds of proteins described in the proteome of N. gaditana, the bio-algorism identified over 400 proteins with potential use; one of them was selected as UCA01, “in vitro” and its potential prove it against cancer. The potential applications from this approach are unpredictable.

We report 272 radial velocities for 19 RR Lyrae variables. For most of the stars we have radial velocities for the complete pulsation cycle. These data are used to determine robust center--of--mass radial velocities that have been compared to values from the literature in a search for evidence of binary systems. Center--of--mass velocities were determined for each star using Fourier Series and Template fits to the radial velocities. Our center--of--mass velocities have uncertainties from $\pm0.16$ km s$^{-1}$ to $\pm$2.5 km s$^{-1}$, with a mean uncertainty of $\pm$0.92 km s$^{-1}$. We combined our center--of--mass velocities with values from the literature to look for deviations from the mean center--of--mass velocity of each star. Fifteen RR Lyrae show no evidence of binary motion (BK And, CI And, Z CVn, DM Cyg, BK Dra, RR Gem, XX Hya, SZ Leo, BX Leo, TT Lyn, CN Lyr, TU Per, U Tri, RV UMa, and AV Vir). In most cases this conclusion is reached due to the sporadic sampling of the center--of--mass velocities over time. Three RR Lyrae show suspicious variation in the center--of--mass velocities that may indicate binary motion but do not prove it (SS Leo, ST Leo, and AO Peg). TU UMa was observed by us near a predicted periastron passage (at 0.14 in orbital phase) but the absence of additional center--of--mass velocities near periastron make the binary detection, based on radial velocities alone, uncertain. Two stars in our sample show $H\gamma$ emission in phases 0.9--1.0: SS Leo and TU UMa., Comment: 5 tables, 21 figures

The non-self-centrality number and the total irregularity of a connected graph G are defined as N ( G ) = ∑ | e G ( v i ) − e G ( v j ) | and i r r t ( G ) = ∑ | d e g G ( v j ) − d e g G ( v i ) | , with summations embracing all pairs of vertices, degG(vi) and ɛG(vi) denoting the degree and eccentricity of the vertex vi. In this paper, we show that there exists a graph G with diameter d such that irrt(G) > N(G) for any integer d ≥ 2. This gives a complete proof of Theorem 10 in Xu et al. (2018), where Xu et al. did not prove it really for d ≥ 4. Moreover, we prove that N(T) > irrt(T) for any tree T of order n ≥ 10 with diameter d ≥ 2 + 26 11 n and maximum degree 4 avoiding degree 3, determine all trees(unicyclic graphs) and with diameter 3 and irrt(T) > N(T) and give a sufficient condition for trees with diameter 4 and irrt(T) > N(T). These partially solve Problems 26 and 27 in the above-mentioned literature.

Sangatta as the capital of East Kutai Regency is a rapidly growing urban area. The rapid growth and development of Sangatta resulted in the increase of open space. For this reason, the government and local communities tried to reforest the residential areas by planting many plant species. However, generally the chosen species were not the local ones and tended to be chosen based on the easiness of cultivation and aesthetic aspects. The popular species is janti ( Sesbania sesban ), which can be called as an alien species because of the lacks of records and information about its existence. The alien species spreading freely and uncontrolled could be potentially invasive. To prove it, an assessment needed to be held. One of procedure that can be used is assessment protocol issued by the nature serve organization, which determines the presence of an invasive type or species based on I-rank, which consists of four assessment categories, namely ecological impact, distribution status and abundance, distribution trends and abundance, and management difficulties. The research result showed that the presence status of Janti was invasive in the middle rank.
