Introduction: Cannabinoids show great therapeutic potential, but their effect on anesthesia still remains unclear. Use of chronic recreational Cannabis in humans undergoing anesthetic procedures tends to require a higher dose when compared to non-users. On the other hand, studies on rodents and dogs have shown that cannabinoid agonists may potentiate certain anesthetics. This contrast of effects possibly occurs due to different time lengths of administration of different phytocannabinoids at different doses, and their distinct effects on the Endocannabinoid System, which is also affected by anesthetics such as propofol and isoflurane. Methods: Twenty-seven healthy male dogs, client-owned, ranging from 1 to 7 years, and from 5 to 35 kg were selected, mean weight 15.03±7.39 kg, with owners volunteering their animals to participate in the research performed in the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). Dogs were randomized into 3 groups. The Control Group (CON, n = 9), receiving only Extra Virgin Olive Oil, the same oil-base used in the treatment groups. Group 2 (G2, n = 9) received 2 mg/kg of total phytocannabinoids, and Group 3 (G3, n = 9) received 6 mg/kg of total phytocannabinoids. All groups received their treatments transmucosally, 75 min before their induction with propofol. Heart and respiratory rate, blood pressure, temperature and sedation were evaluated prior to, and at 30, 60, and 75 min after administration of the fsCBD-rich extract or Placebo extract. Preanesthetic medication protocol was also included across all treatment groups, 15 min before induction. Parametric data was analyzed with one-way ANOVA, followed by Student-Newman-Keuls (SNK) if significant statistical differences were found. Non-parametric data was analyzed using Friedman's test, followed by Dunn test for comparisons between all timepoints in the same group. Kruskal-Wallis followed by Dunn was utilized for between groups comparisons. Propofol dose necessary for induction was analyzed through One-way ANOVA followed by Tukey's Multiple Comparisons Test, using Instat by Graphpad, and differences were considered statistically significant when p < 0.05. Our analysis assessed if statistical significance was present between time points in the same group, and between groups in the same time points. Results: In our study, 6 mg/kg of total phytocannabinoids were able to reduce the dose of propofol necessary for induction by 23% when compared to the control group. The fsCBD-rich extract did not produce significant sedation within or between groups, although statistically significant differences in heart rate and systolic blood pressure were found. Discussion: Our findings indicate that phytocannabinoids could be an adjunct option in anesthesia, although further research is necessary to better confirm this data. Additionally, further research is needed to determine the best dosage, delivery method, time for administration, ideal molecular profile for desired effects, safety, drug-drug interactions, and transurgical effects. Zirconia implants are increasingly utilized in dental implantation, and a comprehensive understanding of their long-term performance is essential. Background: Zirconia dental implants have gained attention due to their biocompatibility and aesthetics. However, research on their extended success and complication rates is limited. Materials and Methods: A prospective clinical study involved the placement of 30 zirconia dental implants in patients requiring tooth replacement. The implants were followed up for five years. Success was defined as the implant remaining stable and functional. Complications, including peri-implant mucositis and peri-implantitis, were monitored. Statistical analysis included descriptive statistics, Chi-square test, and P-values were set at P < 0.05. Results: The long-term success rate of zirconia dental implants was found to be 93.3%. Among the 30 implants, only 2 exhibited failure. The most common complication was peri-implant mucositis, occurring in 16.7% of implants. Notably, the incidence of peri-implantitis was limited, observed in 6.7% of implants. Statistical analysis showed significant associations between implant failure and smoking (P = 0.021). Conclusion: Zirconia dental implants demonstrated a high long-term success rate of 93.3% over five years. Peri-implant mucositis was the predominant complication, with a relatively low occurrence of peri-implantitis. The findings underscore the potential of zirconia implants for reliable dental implantation. Addressing modifiable risk factors, such as smoking, could further enhance implant success. Continued research is recommended to validate and expand upon these outcomes.

Purpose: Identification of patients at risk of complicated or more severe COVID-19 is of pivotal importance, since these patients might require monitoring, antiviral treatment, and hospitalization. In this study, we prospectively evaluated the SACOV-19 score for its ability to predict complicated or more severe COVID-19. Methods: In this prospective multicenter study, we included 124 adult patients with acute COVID-19 in three German hospitals, who were diagnosed in an early, uncomplicated stage of COVID-19 within 72 h of inclusion. We determined the SACOV-19 score at baseline and performed a follow-up at 30 days. Results: The SACOV-19 score's AUC was 0.816. At a cutoff of > 3, it predicted deterioration to complicated or more severe COVID-19 with a sensitivity of 94% and a specificity of 55%. It performed significantly better in predicting complicated COVID-19 than the random tree-based SACOV-19 predictive model, the CURB-65, 4C mortality, or qCSI scores. Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of chidamide combined with azacitidine in treating relapsed/refractory angioimmunoblastic T⁃cell lymphoma (AITL). Methods The study was a single⁃center prospective clinical trial at Peking Union Medical College. The eligible patients were pathologically confirmed with AITL and met the criteria for relapsed/ refractory lymphoma. Treat⁃ ment included subcutaneous injection of azactidine azacitidine (100 m/d for 7 d) combined with oral chidamide (20 mg/d twice weekly) in a 4 weeks cycle. Results A total of 7 patients were enrolled from March 2021 to August 2022. The median age of disease onset was 53 (range 45-75) years and the median line of previous treatment was 2 (range 1-4) line. After treatment, complete remission (CR) was achieved in 2 cases and partial remission in 3 cases. The objective response rate was 71.4% and the CR rate was 28.6%. As of August 2022, the median follow⁃up time was 14 months (range 4-17 months). 6 patients survived and 1 patient died, and the median progres⁃ sion⁃free survival (PFS), duration of response, and overall survival (OS) of the whole group were not reached. The 1⁃year PFS and OS rates were 51.4% and 100.0%, respectively. Treatment ⁃ related adverse events were mainly hematological toxicity. The incidence of grade 3-4 neutropenia and thrombocytopenia were 28.6% (2/7) and 14.3% (1/7), respectively. Conclusions Azacitidine combined with chidamide has a high remission rate and safety profile in treating relapsed/refractory AITL, and dual epigenetic regulating drugs may serve as a second⁃line treatment option for patients with AITL. Digital technology facilitates the manufacturing of complete dentures; however, clinical and patient-reported outcomes are underreported. This prospective, randomized, single-blind cross-over study reports the clinical and patient-related outcomes of 10 edentulous patients receiving digital dentures prepared with the Vita Vionic System and conventional dentures produced from heat-polymerized polymethylmethacrylate resin. Clinical efficiency was stated based on the Sato score for quantitative assessment of complete denture quality. Patient satisfaction was evaluated with the oral health-related quality of life questionnaire (OHIP-20). We report here that the Sato score was slightly higher in patients receiving digital versus conventional dentures with a mean of 73.2 ± 12.3 and 67.4 ± 11.8, respectively (p = 0.16). Moreover, upper and lower stability was superior in digital dentures (p = 0.03 and p = 0.10, respectively), while denture polish was better in conventional dentures (p = 0.03). Quality of life was slightly higher in patients receiving conventional compared to digital dentures with an OHIP-20 of 101.7 ± 12.0 and 95.6 ± 24.2, respectively (p = 0.33). Taken together and when considering the low power of the study, our findings suggest a trend towards better clinical efficiency of digital compared to conventional dentures, while patient satisfaction remained unaffected by the type of manufacturing. Background/Aim: Endometriosis infiltrating the rectum often requires resection with a protecting stoma. A ghost ileostomy (GI) is an alternative to prevent the psychological burden for the young women affected. The present study evaluated the safety and cost-effectiveness of the ghost ileostomy (GI) procedure in a group of patients after rectal resection for deep infiltrating endometriosis. Patients and Methods: The prospective controlled interventional trial was conducted in 54 consecutive patients with deep infiltrating endometriosis of the rectum. GI was considered after ultra-low resection with primary anastomosis, previous colorectal anastomosis, or pelvic redo surgery. Loop ileostomy (LI) was performed after simultaneous colpotomy with suture, only. Operating time, morbidity according to the Clavien-Dindo classification (CDC), duration of hospital stay, and patient satisfaction were obtained. Individual costs were estimated for the endometriosis procedure with or without a GI or LI, including stoma supply and closure expenses. Results: Of the 54 patients, 27 received GI (50%), whereas 4 underwent LI (7%). The remaining 23 patients received no outlet (NO). The complication rate did not differ among the GI, LI, and NO groups. Two cases were re-operated and required a diverting stoma, one in the GI and the NO group each. The additional healthcare expenses for each patient receiving a LI averaged 6,000 €. The patients were very satisfied with the option of a GI. Conclusion: GI is a costeffective and safe alternative to LI after rectal resection for deep infiltrating endometriosis in cases where it is required. The individual costs per patient were reduced substantially, with a cumulative savings of 160,000 € in healthcare expenditure. Objectives: To determine the accuracy of 12 previously validated short versions of the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) to detect major depressive disorder (MDD) in a high-risk population with and without global cognitive impairment. Design: Cross-sectional study. Setting: Five hospitals, Western Sweden. Participants: Older adults (age ≥70 years, n = 60) assessed at a home visit 1 year after hospital care in connection with suicide attempt. Measurements: Depression symptoms were rated using the established 15-item GDS. Eleven short GDS versions identified by a recent systematic review were derived from this administered version. Receiver operating characteristic curves and area under the curve (AUC) for the identification of MDD diagnosed according to Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition, were obtained for each version. The Youden Index optimal criterion was used to determine the appropriate cutoffs. Analyses were repeated after stratification by cognitive status (Mini Mental State Examination score ≤24 and >24) for the best performing GDS short versions and the established 15-item GDS. Results: The 7-item GDS according to Broekman et al. (2011), with a cutoff 3, was the most accurate among the 12 short versions (AUC 0.90, 95% confidence interval 0.80–1.00), identifying MDD with sensitivity 88% and specificity 81%. The cutoff score remained consistent in the presence of global cognitive impairment, which was not the case for the standardized 15-item GDS. Conclusion: The Broekman 7-item GDS had high accuracy to detect MDD in this prospective clinical cohort at high risk for MDD. Further testing of GDS short versions in diverse settings is required. Purpose: A moderately rough anodized titanium implant surface (TiUnite) was introduced in 2000. This review and meta-analysis aimed to assess implant survival and marginal bone level (MBL) changes documented in the literature. Materials and Methods: Repeated literature searches on dental implants were conducted, with the final search on October 7, 2016. The inclusion criteria were: prospective study, minimum of 20 patients, at least 12 months follow-up postloading, and TiUnite implant survival reported. Regression analysis was performed on implant survival and MBL change from implant surgery. Peri-implantitis as defined by the primary authors was reported at the patient level. Results: One hundred six out of 32,519 publications on dental implants met the inclusion criteria. Implant survival rates at 1 year were 99.50% at the implant level and 99.12% at the patient level, and survival rates at 10 years were 95.14% at the implant level and 91.50% at the patient level. Mean MBL change at 1 year was -0.409 mm at the implant level and -0.413 mm at the patient level, and at 5 years, it was -0.886 mm at the implant level and -1.029 mm at the patient level. Nineteen studies (18%) specifically reported peri-implantitis in 64 out of 1,229 patients with a mean followup of 47.89 months, indicating a prevalence of 5.20% at the patient level. Conclusion: Based on a metaanalysis of prospective studies, implants with the TiUnite surface provide a predictable treatment modality in a variety of indications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Purpose: To investigate the influence of selective enamel etching on long-term clinical performance of partial ceramic crowns (PCCs) luted with a self-adhesive luting material (RXU: RelyX Unicem). Materials and Methods: At baseline, 34 patients received the intended treatment: two PCCs (Vita Mark II; Cerec 3D) for the restoration of extended lesions with multiple-cusp coverage were placed in a split-mouth design with a self-adhesive luting material, one without (RXU) and one with selective enamel etching (RXU+E). Patients were evaluated clinically (modified USPHS criteria) at baseline and up to 6.5 years (70 to 88 months). The chi-square test was used for statistical analyses (α = 0.05). Clinical survival of all restorations (n = 68) after 6.5 years was evaluated by Kaplan-Meier analysis. Results: After 6.5 years, 18 patients (9 male, 9 female; median age 41, range 25 to 59 years) with 36 RXU and RXU+E restorations were available for clinical assessment (patient recall rate: 53%), with 13 RXU and 14 RXU+E PCCs placed in molars and 5 RXU and 4 RXU+E PCCs in premolars. Clinically, no statistically significant differences between the luting procedures were detected. Both RXU and RXU+E revealed significant changes over time with respect to marginal adaptation (significant deterioration) and marginal discoloration (significant increase). RXU revealed no cases of postoperative hypersensitivity and RXU+E only did so at baseline (n = 5). Kaplan-Meier analysis showed a cumulative survival for RXU of 60% and for RXU+E of 82%, indicating a significantly higher survival rate for RXU+E. Conclusion: Clinically, RXU and RXU+E perform similarly. In PCC restorations with multiple-cusp coverage, lack of retention due to adhesive preparation, and little dentin available for adhesion caused by extensive core buildups or cavity linings, selective enamel etching is recommended. Abstract Background CAP (Community acquired pneumonia) is frequent, with a high mortality rate and a high burden on health care systems. Development of predictive biomarkers, new therapeutic concepts, and epidemiologic research require a valid, reproducible, and quantitative measure describing CAP severity. Methods Using time series data of 1532 patients enrolled in the PROGRESS study, we compared putative measures of CAP severity for their utility as an operationalization. Comparison was based on ability to correctly identify patients with an objectively severe state of disease (death or need for intensive care with at least one of the following: substantial respiratory support, treatment with catecholamines, or dialysis). We considered IDSA/ATS minor criteria, CRB-65, CURB-65, Halm criteria, qSOFA, PSI, SCAP, SIRS-Score, SMART-COP, and SOFA. Results SOFA significantly outperformed other scores in correctly identifying a severe state of disease at the day of enrollment (AUC = 0.948), mainly caused by higher discriminative power at higher score values. Runners-up were the sum of IDSA/ATS minor criteria (AUC = 0.916) and SCAP (AUC = 0.868). SOFA performed similarly well on subsequent study days (all AUC > 0.9) and across age groups. In univariate and multivariate analysis, age, sex, and pack-years significantly contributed to higher SOFA values whereas antibiosis before hospitalization predicted lower SOFA. Conclusions SOFA score can serve as an excellent operationalization of CAP severity and is proposed as endpoint for biomarker and therapeutic studies. Objective: To investigate the efficacy and safety of Venetoclax combined with CACAG regimen in treatment of patients with refractory/relapse acute myeloid leukemia(R/R AML)., Methods: The study was a singlecenter prospective clinical trial. The enrolled patients met the criteria for R/R AML. Treatment included Azacidine(75 mg/m 2 ，d 1-7), Ara-C (75-100 mg/m 2 , q12h, d 1-5), Aclacinomycin(20 mg d1,d3,d5), Chidamide(30 mg d1,d4), Venetoclax(100 mg d1, 200 mg d2, 400 mg d3-d14, in combination with Triazole Drug, reduced to 100 mg/d), and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (300 μg /d until neutrophil recovery). The primary endpoint of observation was overall response rate after 1 course of treatment., Results: A total of 19 patients were enrolled from January 2022 to April 2023. After 1 course of treatmen, the overall response rate was 81.3%(13/16), the CR rate was 68.8%(11/16), and the PR was 12.5%(2/16). Among the 11 patients who got CR/CRi, 8 cases achieved CRm (minimal residual disease negative CR) and 3 cases did not. As of March 27, 2023, the median follow-up time was 111(19-406) days. The six-month overall survival and progression-free survival rates were both 55.7%, the 1-year overall survival and progression-free survival rates were 46.4% and 47.7%, respectively. In addition, compared with the non-CRm group, CRm patients had a better PFS (377 days vs 111 days, P =0.046). Treatment-related adverse events were mainly 3-4 degrees of bone marrow suppression, complicated by various degrees of infection( n =12), hypokalemia( n =12) and hypocalcemia ( n =10) and elevated liver enzymes ( n =8), of which 3/4 degrees accounted for 47.4%(9/19)., Conclusion: The Venetoclax combined with CACAG regimen is an effective salvage therapy for patients with R/R AML, with high remission rate and safety profile.

Background: Otoplasty is performed to heal the psychological discomfort caused by the appearance of prominent ear by bringing the ear to its anatomical position. However, there have been few studies with limited numbers of patients that have prospectively evaluated psychosocial recovery following otoplasty in adults. The purpose of this prospective study was to evaluate the versatile psychological recovery that can be achieved in adults following otoplasty. Methods: In this prospective cohort study, a single-group, pretest–posttest model was used as the experimental research model. Patient satisfaction status was measured, and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), State–Trait Anxiety Inventory I–II (STAI I–II), Rosenberg Self-Esteem (RSES), and Body Cathexis Scale (BCS) tests were performed on patients before and after surgery. Results: A total of 66 patients with a mean age of 20.7 ± 3.1 years, 66.7% of whom were women, were included in the study. While 97% of the patients were satisfied with the results of the operation, 3% were undecided. The mean values of the BDI, STAI-I, STAI-II, and BCS before and after surgery were 11.4 ± 5.7, 40.9 ± 6.7, 43 ± 9.4, 74.2 ± 20.5, and 8.5 ± 5.5, 38.6 ± 7.4, 39.5 ± 9.2, 63.5 ± 17.6, respectively. While the proportion of patients with a high RSES score before surgery was 42.42%, the proportion after surgery was 96.96%. The differences in the mean scores of all tests before and after surgery were also statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that otoplasty made positive contributions to body perception, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression in adults. • We conducted a phase 2 single-arm prospective study of cord blood transplantation (CBT). • We assessed the efficacy of CBT for treating patients with adult acute leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome. • CBT showed significantly better day 180 overall survival than threshold survival. • CBT outcomes are comparable to historical unrelated donor transplantation in adults with low comorbidity. • Patients with high-risk features in complete response status may benefit from early CBT. We conducted a prospective phase 2 study to assess the efficacy and safety of single-unit myeloablative CBT in adult leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome. Because the day 180 survival of UDT was approximately 80%, we determined the alternative hypothesis of expected day 180 survival with a successful engraftment rate of 80% and set the null hypothesis of threshold rate at 65%. Sixty-two patients (median age, 37 years) were registered, including 28 with acute myelogenous leukemia, 25 with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, and 9 with myelodysplastic syndrome. Of 61 eligible patients, 52 were successfully engrafted and survived at day 180 (85%; 95% confidence interval, 74% to 93%). Single-unit CBT was judged to be effective because the null hypothesis was rejected (P <.001). Furthermore, neutrophil engraftment was observed in 57 patients (92%); the incidences of grade II-IV acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease were 30% and 32%, respectively; and the cumulative incidences of nonrelapse mortality and relapse at 2 years were 18% and 13%, respectively. The present study showed favorable survival outcomes with single-unit CBT. Therefore, this method may be considered if a well-HLA-matched UDT cannot be obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: The longevity of frictional telescopic crowns (FTC) in severely reduced dentitions with 1 to 3 remaining teeth per jaw has not yet been studied prospectively and exclusively. Aims of this study were to estimate risks of telescope loss and abutment tooth loss and to determine abutment tooth mobility over time. Method and Materials: A total of 74 patients with severely reduced dentitions received 82 telescopic removable partial dentures (TRPDs) retained with 173 FTCs. Dentures were reexamined after 1 week and 3, 6, 12, 18, 24, 30, and 36 months. Tooth mobility was monitored with Periotest values. Adjuvant therapies were carried out if necessary. Survival probabilities of telescopes and abutment teeth as well as the influence of clinical factors (age, sex, jaw, vitality, opposing dentition, axis inclination, end Periotest value, crown length, crown margin quality, wearing mode, tooth types, abutment distribution, number of telescopes) were calculated with Kaplan-Meier estimators. The relative risks for telescope loss were calculated with Cox regression. Results: The survival rate was 93.9% for abutment teeth and 87.5% for telescopes. Number of telescopes, abutment distribution, vitality, and gender as factors influenced the survival rates (Kaplan-Meier). In combination with the jaw as a factor, these affected the risk for telescope loss (Cox regression). Periotest values (mean of abutment teeth per examination) decreased significantly (P < .0001). Altogether, 11% of teeth fractured and 4.6% of teeth were extracted. Patients were mostly very satisfied. Conclusion: TRPDs proved to be a favorable treatment concept for severely reduced dentitions. Objectives: The aim of the study is to find how concomitant deep venous thrombosis (DVT) changes the clinical course of pulmonary embolism. Methods: Three hundred and five patients with pulmonary embolism were examined and grouped into DVT and non-DVT groups. Both groups were compared with regard to demography, predisposing factors, clinical signs, thrombotic burden, and one-month mortality rate. Results: The patients with DVT had a more severe clinical presentation: higher heart rate (94.80 ± 18.66 beats per minute versus 87.9 ± 13.90 in the non-DVT group, p = 0.00033), more hemodynamic instability (11.35% versus 3.05% in the non-DVT group, p = 0.005), and less pCO2 in arterial blood gases (30.81 ± 7.94 mmHg versus 32.59 ± 7.35 mmHg in the non-DVT group, p = 0.049). The DVT group had heavier thrombotic burden in pulmonary artery, measured by Mastora score. The one-month mortality rate did not differ statistically between groups. Conclusions: Patients with symptomatic pulmonary embolism and concomitant DVT have heavier thrombotic burden in the pulmonary artery and more severe clinical presentation compared to those without DVT, but a similar one-month mortality rate. Background: Fiducial markers (FMs) help direct stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) and localization for surgical resection in lung cancer management. We report the safety, accuracy, and practice patterns of FM placement utilizing electromagnetic navigation bronchoscopy (ENB). Methods: NAVIGATE is a global, prospective, multicenter, observational cohort study of ENB using the superDimension™ navigation system. This prospectively collected subgroup analysis presents the patient demographics, procedural characteristics, and 1-month outcomes in patients undergoing ENB-guided FM placement. Follow up through 24 months is ongoing. Results: Two-hundred fifty-eight patients from 21 centers in the United States were included. General anesthesia was used in 68.2%. Lesion location was confirmed by radial endobronchial ultrasound in 34.5% of procedures. The median ENB procedure time was 31.0 min. Concurrent lung lesion biopsy was conducted in 82.6% (213/258) of patients. A mean of 2.2 ± 1.7 FMs (median 1.0 FMs) were placed per patient and 99.2% were accurately positioned based on subjective operator assessment. Follow-up imaging showed that 94.1% (239/254) of markers remained in place. The procedure-related pneumothorax rate was 5.4% (14/258) overall and 3.1% (8/258) grade ⩾ 2 based on the Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events scale. The procedure-related grade ⩾ 4 respiratory failure rate was 1.6% (4/258). There were no bronchopulmonary hemorrhages. Conclusion: ENB is an accurate and versatile tool to place FMs for SBRT and localization for surgical resection with low complication rates. The ability to perform a biopsy safely in the same procedure can also increase efficiency. The impact of practice pattern variations on therapeutic effectiveness requires further study. Background There is no data available on the long-term outcomes of a rooted, platform-switched, microthreaded implant with a sandblasted, large-grid, and acid-etched surface. Purpose This prospective, longitudinal study evaluated the clinical and radiographic outcomes of rooted, platform-switched, microthreaded and sandblasted, large-grid, and acid-etched (SLA) surface implants for 5 years. Materials and Methods Sixty implants were placed in sixty patients with partially edentulous maxillae or mandibles. The permanent prostheses were inserted 2-4 months after implant placement. Clinical and radiographic examinations were performed at follow-up visits scheduled postoperation, prosthesis installation, 1 year, and 5 years after surgery, to assess implant survival and success rates, biological and mechanical complications, and marginal bone loss. Results After 5 years' follow-up, four patients withdrawn from the study, and 56 implants achieved a 100% survival rate and 98.2% success rate. Three prosthetic complications occurred, resulting in a success rate for prostheses of 94.6%. The incidence of peri-implant mucositis was 9.1% and no peri-implantitis was diagnosed. The average marginal bone loss at the mesial aspect was 0.46 ± 0.27 mm after 1 year and 0.48 ± 0.27 mm after 5 years. The average marginal bone loss at the distal aspect was 0.46 ± 0.32 mm after 1 year and 0.50 ± 0.35 mm after 5 years. Conclusion After 5 years of loading, the rooted, platform-switched, microthreaded, and SLA surface implants showed high survival and success rates, steady crestal bone levels, and excellent long-term clinical outcomes in the soft tissue. Overloading may be related to the marginal bone loss around implants, but the surgical protocol, different sites, and jaw position did not correlate with crestal bone loss. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
