On-grid hybrid wind–solar systems are one of the best sustainable solutions for developing distributed generation, as they can provide a stable and reliable electricity supply, effectively using the potential of the two most common renewable energy resources. In Ukraine, promoting the development of on-grid hybrid wind–solar power plants takes on particular importance under conditions of electricity shortages caused by the large-scale destruction of the energy infrastructure due to the ongoing hostilities. This article examines the economic efficiency of installing such power plants in the residential sector of Ukraine under different state support schemes. This study was conducted for on-grid hybrid wind–solar systems of various configurations and installed capacities with different equity and debt capital proportions involved in implementing investment projects. This study's results highlight the economic efficiency of the feed-in tariff compared to the net billing for households investing in such facilities and emphasize the need to improve policy measures to increase their investment attractiveness. The article is aimed at improving fundamental methodological approaches to the system of emergency risk management on the basis of the conception of sustainable innovation proactivity, which will allow to prevent and respond in a timely manner to various kinds of destructive phenomena, will contribute to ensuring/increasing the stability and security of economic systems in the face of modern global challenges and threats (both actual and potential). As result of the research, the essence of the main categories of risk management theory is deepened; the influence of various types of global risks in dynamics is analyzed (in the short, medium and long term); the extant approaches to risk management are generalized and systematized; the authors’ own structure of the risk management process is proposed. The methodology for determining the status of economic system, a methodical approach to comprehensive risk assessment based on the theory of sustainability and the theory of complex systems are improved; the principle of integrated risk assessment based on an integrated approach to the assessment of challenges and threats through the synergy of economic, diplomatic, human, international, legal, political, and cultural dimensions of security is determined. Prospect for further research is the development of a theoretical-methodical approach to the choice of strategies and instruments to counter the challenges and threats in Ukraine under unstable socio-economic conditions, taking into account changes in the security environment and in the potential of national economies.

In recent decades, the concept of sustainable development has become increasingly widespread since the United Nations Convention on Climate Change was adopted. However, it is also being overused, imitated, politicized, or even ignored. This study analyzes the current conditions and long-term consequences of the European energy transition and discusses the limitations and true economic and environmental implications of implementing energy sustainability. The paper is aimed at forming an understanding of the current environmental conditions and challenges associated with the economic, financial, and environmental consequences of introducing renewables in Europe. Research has revealed that renewables, while cleaner energy sources are not necessarily sustainable as initially suspected. There are various implications and limitations, that is: an initial carbon footprint, land footprint, recycling issues, harmful impacts on wildlife and humans, moreover the efficiency and economic implications when transitioning to a net zero. As a result, it is concluded that the basic principles of the energy transition are to be introduced and considered for it to become indeed sustainable. It is also concluded that when introducing or improving an energy model, it is crucial to consider the country's initial energy and resource base. Nuclear energy should not be disregarded and should considered to be a clean energy source, as well as a safe one, particularly in the context of national security, which is heavily dependent on energy transition. The article is devoted to the rethinking of modern approaches to the organization of management, which is aimed at a comprehensive solution to the multitude of problems facing higher education. The article proves that the main direction of the university’s efforts should be career guidance management. Single attention is paid to the definition of the essence, place and tools that must it include and use in order to achieve a common goal - to increase the efficiency of the university. In addition, the article includes an expert stakeholder’s analysis of a higher education institution, which were separated into 9 groups and ranked according to the level of priority to work with them. This paper examines the economic and financial advantages of improving international collaboration between Ukraine and Poland in the development of alternative energy projects. It conducts a thorough evaluation of existing and forthcoming renewable energy generation technologies, using expert, Delphi, and methods based on statistics to identify the most promising and universally applicable solutions. The calculation of the payback period for small-scale green energy projects pays particular attention to the actual duration of the period in the case of small business ventures. The findings are summarized with a vision for the future Ukrainian-Polish cooperation in the scope of green energy cooperation and specific instruments and processes that could contribute to the success of the collaboration. The article outlines the potential approach that involves the isolation of the cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in green energy relying on the creation of investment and venture funds, public support for the manufacturing of a renewable energy component, and the establishment of non-volatile industrial complexes. Additionally, measures such as independent small alternative power plants and the initiatives for the development of the Ukrainian-Polish joint network of alternative energy are mentioned. The current war between Ukraine and Russia has drawn attention to the crucial need for energy security and diversification, making Ukraine-Poland collaboration on green energy projects all the more important. Ukraine may minimize its reliance on the Russian energy supply by focusing on renewable energy programs, while Poland can invest in sustainable energy to boost regional stability and economic progress. The article points out that the continuation and advancement of green energy initiatives require international cooperation. Sustainability concerns are becoming pressing in the hospitality sector, which requires incorporating the green innovation approach to yield excellent business performance and preserve the environment. However, the drivers that underpin green innovation have yet to be comprehensively established. This study aims to examine the drivers of green innovation and investigate top management support as a moderator. Data were sourced from 121 eco-friendly hotels, which comprised 276 respondents analyzed with SEM-PLS. The results demonstrated that embedding environmental strategies significantly affected top management support and green innovation. In addition, the results notably denoted that top management support mediated and moderated the relationship between environmental strategies and green innovation. This paper also discusses the theoretical and managerial implications in further detail.

This article explores the development and analysis of investment strategies in energy efficiency for Ukrainian household prosumers using an econometric model. The study identifies key determinants influencing investment decisions by prosumers, such as income levels, energy prices, government subsidies, environmental awareness, technology adoption, urbanization, and education. By employing an econometric model, the research provides robust insights for policymakers, energy industry stakeholders, and prosumers themselves to enhance energy efficiency and promote sustainable energy practices in Ukraine. The analysis covers the period from 2019 to 2023 and focuses on secondary data sources, including government reports, energy industry publications, and academic studies. The econometric model includes fixed effects and random effects to account for unobserved heterogeneity and panel-specific effects, with lagged dependent variables and instrumental variables to address endogeneity. Results show that higher income levels, government subsidies, environmental awareness, technology adoption, urbanization, and education positively influence investment in energy efficiency by prosumers. Energy prices have a negative impact, likely due to cost concerns. Case studies of successful prosumer investment strategies, such as solar panels, energy-efficient appliances, smart home technologies, and insulation/weatherization, further demonstrate the feasibility and benefits of energy efficiency investments. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and stakeholders to support prosumers in making informed and sustainable investment decisions, ultimately contributing to a more energy-efficient and sustainable future for Ukraine. The research highlights the need for consistent policy support to sustain investment momentum, especially in the context of the current war and its impact on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. The article deals with global experience in analysing the priorities based on their importance for country development and on national and international criteria using algorithm for the selection process. The main aspects of the process of development and implementation of international technology strategies were considered. The authors prove that through the analysis of innovation systems at macro level decision about the priorities in optimization with the aim to improve regulations in science, technology and innovation is provided. The main techniques and decisions were considered based on foresight-studies. Authors propose to create informative and analytical system for the foresight aims.

The paper deals with the problems of balancing the United Energy System of Ukraine caused by high renewable energy penetration and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the energy sector. The paper analyses the trends in renewable energy development, the dynamics and structure of electricity consumption and export in pre-epidemic and epidemic periods and identifies the main challenges to operational security of the United Energy System of Ukraine. The methodical approach to improve the methodology for estimation of country’s energy security level by considering the index of developing capacities for balancing the United Energy System of Ukraine is suggested. In addition, proposals have been made to reduce threats to the stable work of the United Energy System of Ukraine by putting into operation of energy storage capacities, promoting the development of мaneuvering renewable energy capacities, and implementation of other appropriate measures in this field.

The research deals with the conceptual framework of innovation policy coherence for sustainable development. Authors prove that for the development of the national system, «sustainable development – security» should be considered innovation policy as a set of management tools for targeted implementation of innovations that will promote sustainable development. As a result of understanding the importance of SDGs, a scientific and practical approach to policy coherence for sustainable development (PCSD) is considered. Given the importance of innovation development and the national characteristics of the relationship between it and the SDGs, it is advisable to consider the methodology of coherence of innovation policy for sustainable development (innovation policy coherence for sustainable development, IPCSD). The context of innovation policy coherence for sustainable development based on ideas of theorists of economic science, innovation and strategic management is presented. It is proposed to implement the conceptual provisions of innovation policy coherence for sustainable development on the basis of adapted principles of sustainable development and principles of the relationship «sustainable development – security».

The present paper has been made a comparative analysis of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions and lockdown on their activity. At the same time has been analysed pre- and post-pandemic periods. Also, the paper provides opinions about the ways how to mitigate and avoid impact on small and medium enterprises (SMEs) caused by pandemics, which might reoccur in the future. The importance of SMEs in the world and Georgian economy has been estimated in terms of added value, GDP, turnover, manufacturing products, and working place formation. It has been concluded that SMEs can handle some minor and short-term issues by themselves with the elaboration of the business continuity plan and crisis management scenarios, but these still are needed the active involvement of state aid. The latter implies financial support and professional, informational, and technical support as well, such as state internet-platform available for SMEs for interactive coordination and communication between the parties and for rapid action from the state on those fields which has been damaged mostly.

This paper deals with improving the feed-in tariff policy for green energy advancement in Ukraine's households based on assessing the economic efficiency of investment project implementation under the current state support mechanisms. This study was conducted for solar and wind power plants with different installed capacities. The Levelized Cost of Electricity and the payback period for such power plants were calculated considering the ongoing feed-in tariffs and discount rates determined by various equity and debt capital ratios. The results showed that the state support provides attractive payback periods for solar and wind power plants with an installed capacity of ≥30 kW. In comparison, 5 kW solar power plants and wind power plants with a capacity of up to 10 kW are not paid off during the power plants' lifecycle. It confirmed that the ongoing energy policy in Ukraine's residential sector is still designed to obtain profits by the owners of generating facilities by selling the excess electricity. In the meantime, its main goal—providing households energy independence—has been levelled. To resolve the issues caused by such a state support model, a methodical approach to improve the feed-in tariff calculation is proposed. In addition, recommendations for reconsidering other policy measures to ensure effective renewable energy development in the residential sector have been made. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Currently, Greenhouse Gas Emissions are the main reason of the global warming threat. Carbon sequestration by the forests plays the important role in reducing CO2 emissions. Therefore, the environmental policy of the state to reduce greenhouse gases should first of all focus on the development of forestry. But at the same time the environmental policy depends on the tax policy of the state and is significantly different in developed countries and in countries with transition economies.

The objective of this study is to consider the main points of system innovation policy within the security strategy. Within the new trends in security science technological trajectory analysis creates an effective field of innovation communications, the main task of which is to stimulate the dialogue of innovation activity stakeholders and their cooperation with the help of specialized approaches. In the framework of the system of national security strategies, we propose the formation of innovation-synergetic design methodology. Industry 4.0 can be considered as a priority project, which can reduce the influence of a number of negative factors, since its implementation will ensure the scientific and innovative security and stability of the positive dynamics of the country 's development, increase the competitiveness of the national economy. Thus, the task of coordinating innovation development within the Industry 4.0 is to promote structural reforms, to select the mechanisms for the most effective concentration of resources in priority innovation directions, to create a system for monitoring the efficiency of using innovation infrastructure facilities, to create conditions for the development of competition, coordination of development institutions, implementation of foreign policy orientation of the innovation, regulation of behavior of companies with state participation and natural monopolies, including through innovation development program.
