INTRODUCTION: Niraparib first-line maintenance (1LM) therapy has demonstrated clinical benefit for patients with ovarian cancer (OC) in clinical trial and real-world settings, but data on factors associated with real-world patient outcomes remain limited. This analysis identified patient characteristics associated with time to next treatment (TTNT), a proxy for real-world progression-free survival, in patients with OC treated with 1LM niraparib monotherapy. METHODS: This retrospective observational study used a USA nationwide electronic health record-derived deidentified database and included adult patients diagnosed with OC who initiated 1LM niraparib monotherapy after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. Patients were followed until the earliest occurrence of last clinical activity, death, or end of study period. TTNT was measured from 1LM niraparib initiation to the start of second-line treatment or death. Cox proportional hazards models assessed univariable and multivariable associations between baseline characteristics and TTNT. RESULTS: Of 7872 patients diagnosed with OC, 526 met the eligibility criteria and were included in this analysis. Median (IQR) duration of follow-up was 14.1 (7.4-23.6) months. In univariable analyses, age, BRCA/homologous recombination deficiency (HRD) status, socioeconomic status, stage at initial diagnosis, cytoreductive surgery type, and residual disease status were significantly associated with observed TTNT and were introduced into the multivariable model with other clinically relevant variables. In the multivariable analysis, BRCA/HRD status, cytoreductive surgery type, and residual disease status were significantly associated with observed TTNT after covariate adjustment. Conversely, age, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status, disease stage, niraparib starting dose status, and first-line bevacizumab use were not associated with observed TTNT. CONCLUSION: This real-world, retrospective, observational analysis offers valuable insights on prognostic factors associated with TTNT in patients with OC treated with 1LM niraparib monotherapy after first-line platinum-based chemotherapy. Future studies are needed to examine how additional patient characteristics associated with clinical outcomes may guide treatment decisions and improve outcomes.

Administration of single-agent epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) is a standard treatment option for metastatic non–small cell lung carcinomas with EGFR exon 19 deletions (ex19del) and L858R substitutions. However, there is a significant interpatient heterogeneity with regard to the degree of the response and its duration. Patients with EGFR ex19del mutation, TP53 wild-type, good performance status, low tumor burden and no circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) at baseline have the best chances to derive pronounced benefit from TKI therapy. In contrast, subjects with EGFR L858R substitution, mutated TP53, poor overall condition, high tumor volume and detectable ctDNA are generally poor responders to EGFR inhibitors. ctDNA dynamics in the first days or weeks of treatment allows reliable identification of patients, who are very unlikely to derive clinically meaningful benefit from single-agent TKIs. These patients are candidates for clinical trials, which may involve the addition of chemotherapy and antiangiogenic drugs to patients, who failed to achieve immediate benefit from TKI monotherapy. Article highlights Virtually all patients with epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations demonstrate some benefit immediately after initiation of EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKI) therapy; therefore, EGFR testing is the first and a critical step in treatment planning. Patients with the EGFR ex19del mutation are more likely to derive a marked benefit from TKI therapy. In contrast, those with the EGFR L858R substitution are generally poor responders. Poor performance status, high number of metastatic sites and the presence of extrathoracic tumor spread are also well-established negative prognostic factors. TP53 is strong negative predictor for response to EGFR TKIs. Genetic alterations in some other genes may affect the efficacy of EGFR TKIs, although none of the proposed predictors has the level of evidence comparable with that of TP53. The predictive value of the baseline ctDNA level may be attributed to its ability to identify particularly aggressive tumors. Measurement of ctDNA may outperform imaging tools for assessment of the tumor volume and spread of NSCLC. Clinical trials comparing the efficacy of combined administration of EGFR TKI and cytotoxic therapy with TKI alone demonstrated significant prolongation of progression-free survival. This outcome is expected, given that both TKIs and chemotherapy are efficacious against EGFR-mutated NSCLC. Synergy between antiangiogenic drugs and EGFR TKIs has been observed. Bevacizumab and ramucirumab seem particularly promising. Combining bevacizumab with TKIs and chemotherapy seems feasible and warrants further study. Purpose: To investigate the clinical efficacy and prognostic factors associated with autologous osteoperiosteal transplantation for the treatment of single cystic osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLT). Methods: The clinical data of patients with single cystic OLT undergoing autologous osteoperiosteal transplantation at the Department of Foot and Ankle Surgery of our hospital between 2018 and 2022, including complete follow‐up, were retrospectively analyzed. Imaging data from each patient were imported into Mimics software to measure the surface area, volume and depth of the lesions. Then, the talus nine‐compartment partitioning method was used to partition the injury site. Preoperative and final follow‐up assessments were performed using the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) score, visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain and 36‐item Short‐Form Health Survey (SF‐36) to evaluate treatment efficacy and analyze prognostic factors. Results: Of the 31 patients with single cystic OLT with a complete set of follow‐up data, there were 17 males and 14 females, with a mean age of 43.3 ± 13.6 years, a mean follow‐up time of 30.1 ± 14.0 months and a mean illness duration of 30.4 ± 20.0 months. The postoperative final follow‐up AOFAS score was 90.7 ± 5.5; this represented significant improvement when compared to the preoperative score of 57.0 ± 8.5 (P < 0.001). The final postoperative follow‐up VAS score was 18.5 ± 8.3; this was significantly better than the preoperative score of 57.8 ± 8.7 (P < 0.001). The physical component summary (PCS) score and mental component summary (MCS) score on the SF‐36 scale showed significant improvement at the final postoperative follow‐up when compared to preoperative scores (p < 0.001). No other complications were observed during follow‐up, such as wound infection or pain at the donor site. One of the patients showed less improvement, which may be related to premature weight‐bearing or re‐sprained ankle after surgery. There was no significant correlation between the duration of illness, gender and the location, depth, surface area and volume of the OLT and the postoperative scores. However, patient age showed a significant negative correlation with the postoperative SF‐36 PCS and MCS scores. Conclusion: Autologous osteoperiosteal transplantation for single cystic OLT demonstrated good clinical efficacy with a low incidence of complications. This study aimed to develop and validate a nomogram using clinical variables to guide personalized treatment strategies for adenoid cystic carcinoma of the head and neck (ACCHN). Data from 1069 patients with ACCHN diagnosed between 2004 and 2015 in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were used to construct the nomogram. External validation was performed using an independent cohort of 70 patients from Fujian Cancer Hospital. Multivariate Cox regression analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS version 26.0 and R Software version 4.2.3. The concordance index (C-index) and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to assess the predictive accuracy of the nomogram. Age, tumor site, surgery, N stage, M stage, and TNM stage were identified as independent prognostic factors through univariate and multivariate Cox analyses. The nomogram demonstrated superior predictive performance compared to the TNM staging system, effectively stratifying patients into high-risk and low-risk groups. Objective: To perform a collaborative review of the literature exploring the microsatellite instability/deficient mismatch repair (MSI/dMMR) phenotype in patients with upper tract urothelial carcinoma (UTUC). Method: A collaborative review of the literature available on Medline was conducted by the Cancer Committee of the French Association of Urology to report studies describing the genetic mechanisms, investigation, prevalence and impact of the MSI/dMMR phenotype in UTUC patients. Results: The predominant genetic mechanism leading to the MSI/dMMR phenotype in UTUC patients is related to the constitutional mutation of one allele of the MMR genes MLH1, MSH2, MSH6 and PMS2 within Lynch syndrome. Indications for its investigation currently remain limited to patients with a clinical suspicion for sporadic UTUC to refer only those with a positive testing for germline DNA sequencing to screen for this syndrome. With regard to technical aspects, despite the interest of MSIsensor, only PCR and immunohistochemistry are routinely used to somatically investigate the MSI and dMMR phenotypes, respectively. The prevalence of the MSI/dMMR phenotype in UTUC patients ranges from 1.7% to 57%, depending on the study population, investigation method and definition of a positive test. Younger age and a more balanced male to female ratio at initial diagnosis are the main specific clinical characteristics of UTUC patients with an MSI/dMMR phenotype. Despite the conflicting results available in the literature, these patients may have a better prognosis, potentially related to more favourable pathological features. Finally, they may also have lower sensitivity to chemotherapy but greater sensitivity to immunotherapy. Conclusion: Our collaborative review summarises the available data from published studies exploring the MSI/dMMR phenotype in UTUC patients, the majority of which are limited by a low level of evidence. The aim of this study was to compare treatment modalities, pathological and clinical characteristics, and outcomes in patients with metastasis in a parotid gland. The medical records of 34 patients who received treatment for metastasis in the parotid gland over a twenty-year period were evaluated. Patients with head and neck cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma (HNcSCC) metastasis were retrospectively reclassified using the P/N and N1S3 staging system. Patients with neck metastasis showed a significantly poorer prognosis (P = 0.025). Univariate analysis also revealed that extent of parotidectomy and type of neck dissection did not influence recurrence free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS). When comparing the usefulness of the P/N and S1N3 staging systems, a positive correlation was observed between the P stage and the N1S3 stage in both RFS and OS. The extent of parotidectomy and concomitant neck dissection is still under discussion. Total parotidectomy and modified radical neck dissection did not improve RFS and OS. • Epilepsy surgery in infants (<12 months) is safe and effective. In this study, 76.7 % (33/43) achieved Engel I at the last postoperative follow-up, which is higher than the average previously reported. • The presence of hypsarrhythmia on preoperative interictal electroencephalogram (EEG), positron emission tomography (PET) features of the lesion area, and diagnosis of an epileptic syndrome were the main factors affecting the postoperative clinical outcomes. • Significant developmental improvements in infants (< 12 months) with drug-resistant epilepsy can be achieved after curative surgery. To investigate the clinical outcomes and safety of surgery in infants (< 12 months of age) with drug-resistant epilepsy, clarify surgical indications, and select appropriate surgical methods. This was a retrospective analysis of infants with drug-resistant epilepsy who underwent epilepsy surgery and were followed up for > 6 months at the Epilepsy Center of Shenzhen Children's Hospital. Clinical data included etiology, seizure type, surgical procedure, preoperative auxiliary examinations, pathological findings, and intraoperative and postoperative complications. Clinical outcomes were assessed based on postoperative seizure frequency, antiseizure medicines (ASMs) use, and neurocognitive development. Intraoperative blood loss, operative duration, postoperative complications, and duration of intensive care were evaluated to assess the safety of epilepsy surgery. Univariate and logistic analyses were performed to explore the factors influencing prognosis. Epilepsy surgery was performed on 44 infants with drug-resistant epilepsy, including 7 patients who underwent two operations. The age of seizure onset ranged from 1 day to 11 months (median: 1 month, interquartile range (IQR): 0.1–3.8), the disease course was 1–11 months (median: 4 months, IQR: 2–7), and the age at surgery was 6.9 ± 3.6 months. Twenty-three patients underwent hemispherectomy (52.3 %), and two underwent subtotal hemispherectomy. Five patients underwent multilobar disconnection, five underwent frontal lobotomy, and the remaining nine underwent focal resection. The surgical duration was 7.5 ± 2 h. Intraoperative blood loss ranged from 50 to 1800 ml (median: 275 ml, IQR: 200–500), with all patients receiving an intraoperative blood transfusion of 0.5–6 U (median: 1.5 U, IQR: 1.5–3). The intensive care unit stay was 1–4 days (median: 1 day, IQR: 1–2). The postoperative complication rate was 13.6 % (6/44; two cases of hydrocephalus with intracranial infection, two isolated hydrocephalus, and two subdural hematomas). Excluding one child who died of severe lung infection approximately one year after surgery and one child lost to follow-up after surgery, all other cases were regularly followed up for 10 –49 months (median: 30 months, IQR: 16.5–36). After surgery, patients were treated with 0–3 ASMs (median: 1 ASM, IQR: 0–2); 27.9 % (12/43) stopped taking ASMs and 51.2 % (22/43) had reduced number of ASMs. Engel I was achieved in 76.7 % (33/43) of the patients at the last follow-up. In 17 cases with complete developmental quotient follow-up data, the preoperative and postoperative developmental quotient means were 28.8 ± 21 and 43.2 ± 20.1, showing statistically significant differences (p<0.05) Epilepsy surgery in infants under 12 months of age is safe and effective. The aim of this study was to characterize the clinicopathological features and prognostic factors of T1/2 size (<4 cm) gingival squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and to verify the impact of bone invasion. This was a single-centre, retrospective cohort study involving 206 patients with gingival SCC (maxilla or mandible), treated between 2000 and 2020. The patients were divided into three subgroups based on tumour size and bone invasion. The 5-year overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) were 80.6% and 67.6%, respectively. Histological differentiation, advanced T stage, positive resection margin, bone invasion, and postoperative adjuvant therapy were associated with a poor prognosis (P < 0.05). Multivariate Cox analysis indicated that only histological differentiation (hazard ratio (HR) 2.68, P = 0.007) and bone invasion (HR 2.08, P = 0.036) were significantly associated with DFS. Bone invasion was observed in 145 (70.4%) patients, of whom 43 (20.9%) had a T1/2 size tumour. The subgroup with bone invasion and T1/2 size showed significantly worse OS and DFS when compared to the subgroup without bone invasion and similar or worse survival when compared to the subgroup with bone invasion and T3/T4 size. Histological differentiation and bone invasion were poor prognostic factors for gingival SCC, even in cases with small-sized tumours. Background: The current study presents the effort of a global collaborative group to review the management and outcomes of malignant tumors of the skull base worldwide. Patients and methods: A total of 28 institutions contributed data on 3061 patients. Analysis evaluated clinical variables, survival outcomes, and multivariable factors associated with outcomes. Results: The median age was 56 years (IQR 44–67). The open surgical approach was used in 55% (n = 1680) of cases, endoscopic resection was performed in 36% (n = 1087), and the combined approach in 9.6% (n = 294). With a median follow‐up of 7.1 years, the 5‐year OS DSS and RFS were 65%, 71.7% and 53%, respectively. On multivariable analysis, older age, comorbidities, histology, dural/intracranial involvement, positive margins, advanced stage, and primary site were independent prognostic factors for OS, DSS, and RFS. Adjuvant RT was a protective prognostic factor. Conclusion: The progress across various disciplines may have contributed to improved OS and DSS in this study compared to previous reports. Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is a neoplasm related to inflammation; the expression of cytokines, such as CCL3, CCL4, CCL20, IL-1a, IL-1b, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-10, among others, is presumed to be associated with NPC occurrence and development. Therefore, the circulating levels of these cytokines may be potential biomarkers for assessing tumor aggressiveness, exploring cellular interactions, and monitoring tumor therapeutic responses. Numerous scholars have comprehensively explored the putative mechanisms through which these inflammatory factors affect NPC progression and therapeutic responses. Moreover, investigations have focused on elucidating the correlation between the systemic levels of these cytokines and the incidence and prognosis of NPC. This comprehensive review aims to delineate the advancements in research concerning the relationship between inflammatory factors and NPC while considering their prospective roles as novel prognostic and predictive biomarkers in the context of NPC. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is associated with high mortality rate. This study investigated the status of lipid metabolism-related genes in HCC. Bulk transcriptomic and single-cell sequencing data for HCC were retrieved from public databases. The single-cell sequencing data was subjected to dimensionality reduction, which facilitated the annotation of distinct cell subpopulations and marker gene expression analysis within each subpopulation. Genes associated with lipid metabolism in liver cells were identified, and a machine-learning model was developed using the bulk transcriptomic data randomly partitioned into training and validation sets. The efficacy of the model was validated using these two sets. A multifactorial Cox analysis on the model genes combined with clinical features, led to the identification of age, HMGCS2, HNRNPU, and RAN as independent prognostic factors, which were included in the nomogram model construction and validation. A weighted gene co-expression analysis of all genes of the bulk transcriptome samples revealed the correlation between gene modules and risk score. Genes with cor > 0.4 in the highest-expressing module were selected for Gene Ontology and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes functional enrichment analysis. Immune-related analysis was conducted based on seven algorithms for immune cell infiltration prediction. For the genes in the nomogram model, the expression in clinical pathological factors was also analyzed. The drug sensitivity analysis offered a reference for the selection of targeting drugs. Purpose: To evaluate clinical outcomes and prognostic factors in non-metastatic oral cavity squamous cell carcinoma (OCSCC) patients who underwent surgery with or without adjuvant therapy. Methods: From 2007 and 2018, 116 patients were analyzed. The primary endpoint was overall survival (OS), and secondary endpoints were disease-free survival (DFS), local failure (LF), regional failure (RF), and distant metastases (DM). Kaplan-Meier method and log-rank test assessed survival outcomes, while Cox proportional hazard tests analyzed prognostic factors. Results: Median patient age was 53 years, most were smokers (93.5%) and males (62.9%). Predominant subsite was the oral tongue (58.6%). Treatment included surgery alone (16.4%), adjuvant radiotherapy (46.6%), or adjuvant concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) (37%). The median follow-up time was 45.9 months. There were significant differences between groups in terms of gender (P=0.028) and RT dose (P=0.01). The 3-year OS, DFS, LF, RF and DM for the entire cohort were 60.9%, 55.1%, 20.11%, 8.43%, and 17.13%, respectively. Surgery alone yielded higher 3-year OS (81.4%) than adjuvant RT (70%) or adjuvant CCRT (41.4%), (p=0.012). Adjuvant CCRT correlated with higher LF compared to adjuvant RT and surgery alone groups (p=0.029). Lymphovascular invasion (LVI) impacted OS (HR=2.034, p=0.0498) and DM (HR=3.380, p=0.0132), while higher tumor grade increased DM likelihood (HR=8.477, p=0.0379). Conclusions: This study reports OCSCC patient outcomes in Jordan across different treatment modalities. Introduction: This retrospective study was conducted to assess the survival rates and prognostic factors in children with relapsed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) who were treated according to the Chinese Children's Cancer Group ALL-2015 protocol at the Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. Methods: The study cohort involving 852 evaluable children with ALL reported a total of 146 relapses during a median follow-up period of 53 months. The primary outcomes measured were the second complete remission (CR2) rates, and 5-year event-free survival (EFS) and overall survival (OS) for patients who received re-treatment post-relapse. Patient data were stratified by ALL subtype (B-ALL vs. T-ALL), age at relapse, site of relapse, and timing of relapse. Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed to identify factors significantly associated with EFS and OS. Results: As of March 31, 2023, 146 relapses were observed, including 128 B-ALL and 18 T-ALL cases. The 8-year CIR was (19.8 ± 1.6)%, with no significant difference between B-ALL and T-ALL (P=0.271). Among the 105 patients who underwent re-treatment, 70 achieved CR2, resulting in a CR2 rate of 67.6%. The 5-year EFS and OS rates for re-treated patients were (45.0 ± 5.4)% and (56.9 ± 5.2)%, respectively. Significant differences in 5-year OS and EFS were found between B-ALL and T-ALL relapses (P < 0.001). The 5-year EFS and OS varied significantly with relapse timing and site of relapse. Factors significantly affecting EFS after relapse included the site of relapse, immunophenotyping, CR2 achievement, and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). Immunophenotyping, CR2 achievement, and HSCT were also identified as significant factors affecting OS after relapse. Discussion: Despite treatment with the CCCG-ALL-2015 protocol, a significant relapse rate was observed, with 72% of children opting for re-treatment post-relapse. The study highlights the importance of considering specific prognostic factors to inform tailored treatment strategies for relapsed childhood ALL. The findings emphasize the need for further research into improving therapeutic approaches for this patient population. Simple Summary: Incidence of brain metastases from genito-urinary cancers has increased over the last years due to improved imaging techniques and better survival outcomes for patients even at an advanced metastatic stage thanks to therapeutic advances. However, no clear consensus exists on their management, and every case ought to be discussed in a multidisciplinary panel. We perform a single-centre retrospective study to report on incidence, patient demographics, clinicopathological characteristics, and treatment modalities. We also manage to identify predictive factors of outcome. Background: Incidence of brain metastases is precisely unknown and there is no clear consensus on their management. We aimed to determine the incidence of brain metastases among patients with genito-urinary primaries, present patients' characteristics and identify prognostic factors. Method: We identified 51 patients treated in Geneva University Hospitals between January 1992 and December 2019. We retrospectively correlated their overall survival with 23 variables. We repeated a multivariate analysis with significant variables. Results: Overall incidence of Brain Metastases (BMs) among Genito-Urinary (GU) patients is estimated to be 1.76% (range per primary GU tumour type: 0.00–6.65%). BMs originate from germ cell tumours in two cases (3.92%), from urothelial cell carcinoma in 15 cases (29.41%), from prostate cancer in 13 cases (25.49%), and from renal cell carcinoma in 21 cases (41.18%); there are no BMs from penile cancer in our cohort. The median age at BM diagnosis is 67 years old (range: 25–92). Most patients (54%) have a stage IV disease at initial diagnosis and 11 patients (22%) have BM at initial diagnosis. Only six patients (12%) are asymptomatic at BM diagnosis. The median Overall Survival (OS) from BM diagnosis is 3 months (range: 0–127). Five patients (10%) are long survivors (OS > 24 months). OS is significantly influenced by patient performance status and administration of systemic treatment. In the absence of meningeal carcinomatosis, OS is influenced by systemic treatment and stereotactic radiosurgery. We also apply the Graded Prognostic Assessment (GPA) score to our cohort and note significant differences between groups. Conclusion: Brain metastases from solid tumours is not a uniform disease, with a prognosis varying a lot among patients. Simple Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the outcomes and prognostic factors for multicentric lymphoma in 38 small breed dogs (weighing under 15 kg) treated with combination chemotherapy with vincristine, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and prednisolone between January 2014 and May 2020. Significant factors for longer mean survival time in the complete remission group included being under 10 years old, no cardiovascular heart disease, and no prior hospitalization due to chemotherapy side effects. These results will help confirm the clinical characteristics and outcomes in small breed dogs with lymphoma and provide insights into the most effective treatments and prognosis for these animals. Lymphoma is one of the most common malignant tumors in dogs. Combination chemotherapy with vincristine, cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, and prednisolone (CHOP) is the most effective treatment for multicentric lymphoma. Previous studies have evaluated the response of large dogs to CHOP treatment and identified prognostic factors; however, studies on small dogs are lacking. In this study, we investigated the outcomes and prognostic factors for small dogs with multicentric lymphoma treated with CHOP. The responses of patients to CHOP treatment were assessed, and 54.3% were evaluated as being in complete remission (CR), 31.4% in partial remission (PR), and 14.3% in no remission (NR). The overall response rate was 85.7%. The median survival times for CR, PR, and NR patients were 683 days (85–1496 days), 241 days (15–777 days), and 119 days (61–308 days), respectively. Among the CR patients, survival was longer under the following conditions: age under 10 years (p = 0.011), no cardiovascular heart disease (p = 0.046), and no history of hospitalization due to side effects from chemotherapy (p = 0.002). Background: Ductal pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC) still has a dismal prognosis even when deemed resectable. A cancer free resection margin (R0) is associated with a more favourable prognosis than the presence of tumour cells at resection margin (R1). However, the precise definition of the R0 status is still a matter of debate in PDAC. For a more accurate determination of R0 in PDAC the concept of circumferential resection margins (CRM) has been established and has been incorporated into the German national S3 guideline on exocrine pancreatic cancer. However, an international standardized nomenclature of CRM is still missing, and the clinical value of the CRM concept is not yet fully established. Here we evaluate whether the CRM status as defined in the national German S3 guideline corresponds with overall and progression free survival in PDAC using data from the regional cancer registry of the State of Baden Württemberg in Germany. Methods: Data from the cancer registry of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, were used to assess the relationship between CRM-status and progression free survival (PFS) as well as 3-year overall survival (OS) using documented patients diagnosed with resectable ductal adenocarcinoma of the pancreas between 2015 and 2020. Patients were residents of the State of Baden-Württemberg and underwent surgery for PDAC. The R-status was assessed according to the national German S3 guideline with R0 wide/CRM- when CRM is > 1 mm from the tumour, R0 narrow/CRM + when CRM is ≤ 1 mm from the tumour and R1 when tumour cells are found at the resection margin. Results: In total we identified 1098 cases surgically treated for pancreatic cancer and fulfilling the inclusion criteria. 340 patients had an R0 wide/CRM- resection, 410 patients an R0 narrow/CRM + resection, and 348 patients an R1 resection. The R0 wide/CRM- status was associated with a significantly increased median OS rate compared to the other two groups (51,5%, 37,4% and 26,7% for R0 wide/CRM-, R0 narrow/CRM + and R1, respectively). mPFS was also longer in the R0 wide/CRM- group. These findings were robust with regards to grading and tumour location. Background: Cervical cancer (CC) is a serious public health concern, being the fourth most common cancer among women and a leading cause of cancer mortality. In Brazil, many women are diagnosed late, and in Mato Grosso, with its geographical diversity, there are specific challenges. This study analyzed hospital survival and its predictors using data from the Hospital Information System (SIH) of the Unified Health System (SUS) in Mato Grosso from 2011 to 2023. Methods: Cox regression and Kaplan-Meier models were applied to determine survival time and identify mortality predictors. The adjusted Hazard Ratio (AHR) with a 95% Confidence Interval (CI) was used to measure the association between the factors analyzed. Results: The hospital mortality rate was 9.88%. The median duration of hospitalization was 33 days (interquartile range [IQR]: 12–36), with a median survival of 43.7%. Patients were followed up for up to 70 days. In the multivariable Cox model, after adjusting for potential confounders, the risk of death during hospitalization was higher in patients aged 40–59 years (AHR = 1.39, p = 0.027) and 60–74 years (AHR = 1.54, p = 0.007), in the absence of surgical procedures (AHR = 4.48, p < 0.001), in patients with medium service complexity (AHR = 2.40, p = 0.037), and in the use of ICU (AHR = 4.97, p < 0.001). On the other hand, patients with hospital expenses above the median (152.971 USD) showed a reduced risk of death (AHR = 0.21, p < 0.001). Conclusion: This study highlights that hospitalized CC patients have reduced survival, underscoring the need for interventions to improve care, including strategies for early diagnosis and expanded access to adequately resourced health services. Purpose: Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) is vital for breast cancer prognosis. The aim of this study was to analyze the clinicopathological data of HER2-negative breast cancer patients receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy and the associated factors affecting the pathological complete response rate (pCR) and prognosis. Methods: Clinical data of 173 patients with primary HER2-negative breast cancer, who initially received neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by surgical treatment at the Breast Surgery Department of Bethune Hospital in Shanxi Province from January 2012 to December 2022, were collected. Results: Compared to HER2-0 patients, HER2-low patients had higher T staging (p = 0.008), higher Ki67 proliferation index (p < 0.001), lower N staging (p = 0.001), and lower pCR rate (p < 0.001). Univariate analysis revealed that T stage, TNM stage, HR status, HER2 status, and Ki67 are risk factors that affect the pCR rate in HER-2 negative. Multivariate analysis identified HR status as an independent predictor of pCR rate. Kaplan–Meier survival curves showed that menstrual status, N staging, T staging, TNM staging, and pCR status affected the prognosis of HER2-low breast cancer patients (p < 0.05). Background: Patients with idiopathic interstitial pneumonia (IIP) often exhibit positivity for myositis-specific antibodies (MSA). However, the significance of this finding remains unclear. In this study, we investigated the association of MSA with the prognosis and risk of acute exacerbation in patients with IIP. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the medical records of patients with IIP and examined the effect of each MSA subtype on survival and acute exacerbation. Results: Of 240 patients with IIP, 48 (20%) exhibited positivity for MSA. The MSA subtypes included: PL-7 (antithreonyl; n = 16, 6.7%); signal recognition particle (n = 13, 5.4%); PL-12 (antialanyl; n = 9, 3.8%); Mi-2 (n = 8, 3.3%); OJ (anti-isoleucyl; n = 7, 2.9%). During the 382 days (382 ± 281 days) of observation, 32 (13%) patients expired, and 27 (11%) experienced an acute exacerbation. Cox proportional hazards regression analysis demonstrated that age at the initial visit (hazard ratio [HR]: 1.072; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.017–1.131; P = 0.01), PL-7 (HR: 4.785; 95% CI: 1.528–14.925; P = 0.007), and PL-12 (HR: 3.922; 95% CI: 1.198–12.82; P = 0.024) were independent predictors of survival time. PL-7 (HR: 3.268; 95% CI: 1.064–10; P = 0.039) and PL-12 (HR: 5.747; 95% CI: 1.894–7.544; P = 0.002) were independent predictors of time from first visit to acute exacerbation. Background: The impact of the etiology of rotator cuff injury (RCI) on outcomes after rotator cuff repair remains unclear. This study aimed to evaluate the postoperative outcomes of patients with RCIs of different etiologies and identify the risk factors affecting prognosis. Methods: This study included 73 patients with RCI who underwent arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. The patients were categorized into either a traumatic group or a non-traumatic group based on their history of trauma. Preoperative and postoperative assessments included shoulder range of motion, muscle strength, and physical examination findings specific to the shoulder for both groups. Clinical differences between arthroscopic repair of traumatic and non-traumatic RCIs were evaluated using univariate analysis. Logistic regression analysis determined independent risk factors for rotator cuff repair prognosis. Results: Among the 73 patients, 31 were in the traumatic group and 42 in the non-traumatic group, with a minimum postoperative follow-up of 12 months and a mean follow-up of 13.8 months. The duration of the disease was significantly longer in the non-traumatic group compared with the traumatic group (P < 0.001). The mean tear area was more significant in the traumatic group than in the non-traumatic group (P = 0.003), and the preoperative pain level and functional scores were better in the non-traumatic group compared with the traumatic group. Postoperatively, there were no differences between the two groups regarding scores, joint mobility, strength, and complications. At 12 months postoperatively, multivariate regression analysis indicated that full-layer tear (OR = 5.106, 95% CI: 1.137–22.927, P = 0.033), fat infiltration (OR = 6.020, 95% CI: 1.113–32.554, P = 0.037), and tear area (OR = 6.038, 95% CI: 2.122–17.177, P < 0.001) significantly affected the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) score. Conclusion: Compared with non-traumatic RCI, traumatic RCI presents with more pronounced pain and impaired joint function preoperatively yet demonstrates comparable postoperative clinical outcomes. Objective To investigate the prognostic factors affecting patients with primary central nervous system diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PCNS-DLBCL). Methods Data were extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database, selecting patients diagnosed with PCNS-DLBCL from 17 research centers between 2000 and 2020. The log-rank test and Cox regression model were used to identify independent prognostic factors influencing overall survival (OS) in these patients. Results A total of 3 550 patients were included in the study. Log-rank test analysis revealed statistically significant differences in OS among patients in different age groups, with different affected sites, surgical approaches, whether they received radiotherapy, chemotherapy, combined chemoradiotherapy, or a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy (P＜0.001, P＜0.001, P＜0.001, P＜0.001, P＜0.001, P=0.001, P＜0.001, P＜0.001). Cox multivariate regression analysis indicated that patients aged 60-69 and those ≥70 had significantly different OS compared to patients ＜60 years old (HR=1.600, 95%CI: 1.447-1.769, P＜0.001; HR=2.317, 95%CI: 2.110-2.544, P＜0.001). Patients with multiple lesion involvement had a significantly different OS compared to those with supratentorial lesions (HR=1.227, 95%CI: 1.083-1.390, P=0.001). Partial tumor resection and complete tumor resection were significant protective factors for OS compared to no surgery (HR=0.794, 95%CI: 0.731-0.862, P＜0.001; HR=0.829, 95%CI: 0.716-0.959, P=0.012). Chemotherapy was also a significant protective factor for OS compared to no chemotherapy (HR=0.455, 95%CI: 0.417-0.496, P＜0.001). Simple Summary: Non-apoptotic modes of cell death have gained increasing attention in the past few years. Cuproptosis is a copper-dependent cell death mechanism that is involved in numerous diseases, including cancer. The relevance of cuproptosis for the survival times of cancer patients is still incompletely understood. We have investigated cuproptosis-related genes based on their mRNA expression and statistical relationship to the survival times of patients by using Kaplan–Meier statistics. Further, we have investigated the possible interactions of the genes with signaling networks. Our study has shown that cuproptosis may play an important role in hepatocellular carcinoma, renal clear cell carcinoma, papillary renal cell carcinoma, and lung adenocarcinoma. We identified gene signatures consisting of nine to twenty-one genes in the above four tumor types, and we have shown that a high mRNA expression of 63/124 cuproptosis-associated genes significantly correlated with shorter survival times of cancer patients. We investigated the mRNA expression of 124 cuproptosis-associated genes in 7489 biopsies from 20 different tumor types of The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA). The KM plotter algorithm has been used to calculate Kaplan–Meier statistics and false discovery rate (FDR) corrections. Interaction networks have been generated using Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA). High mRNA expression of 63 out of 124 genes significantly correlated with shorter survival times of cancer patients across all 20 tumor types. IPA analyses revealed that their gene products were interconnected in canonical pathways (e.g., cancer, cell death, cell cycle, cell signaling). Four tumor entities showed a higher accumulation of genes than the other cancer types, i.e., renal clear cell carcinoma (n = 21), renal papillary carcinoma (n = 13), kidney hepatocellular carcinoma (n = 13), and lung adenocarcinoma (n = 9). These gene clusters may serve as prognostic signatures for patient survival. These signatures were also of prognostic value for tumors with high mutational rates and neoantigen loads. Background: We aimed to evaluate the predictive determitants in patients with PHF who were treated with reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) by evaluating the patient characteristics and comorbidities and extensive preoperative laboratory parameters. Methods: With examining the records of elderly patients (over 65 years old) with PHF, who were admitted to our emergency department between 2009 and 2020. For evaluation of the survival, we performed Kaplan-Meirer statistical anaylses. A Cox algorithms (uni and multivariate) were applied to recognize factors (including clinical and laboratory parameters) which are associated with survival. Results: Sixty-three females and 17 males were included with a mean of 73.5 ± 7.4 years of age. Nineteen (23.83%) patients had decreased after the surgery, with a mean survival of 47.5 ± 32.7 months. There were 61 (76.3%) surviving patients with a mean survival of 67.4 ± 35.4 months. Survival rates in the first 6 months (n: 2 patients), first year (n: 3 patients), and second year (n: 6 patients) after surgery were 97.5%, 96.3%, and 92.3%, respectively. Conclusion: The age and preoperative hemoglobin level were independently related with poor survival in patients with PHF. The aim of this study is to assess the type and degree of correlation of prognostic factors with the degree of myometrial invasion (MI) in subjects with endometrial cancer (EC). The research included 60 female subjects hospitalized for a planned surgical procedure, due to histopathologically (PHD) proven EC in the period from 2019 to 2021. The following parameters were monitored and analyzed: histopathological parameters: histological type, MI in millimeters and percentages, distance of the tumor from the serosa, lymphovascular invasion, invasion of the stroma and mucosa of the cervix, invasion of the ovary or uterine tube, lymph node metastases, and the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) stage. Patients were divided into two groups, after surgery and PHD assessment of MI degree, into those with less than and more than 50% MI. Statistical data processing was done in the SPSS 24.0 software package (Chicago, IL, USA). Out of the total number of patients (60), MI <50% was present in 34 (56.6%) patients, and >50% in 26 (43.4%). Our study showed that the anteroposterior (AP) diameter of the EC and the uterine wall is significantly larger with >50% myometrial invasion, while the AP diameter of the remaining myometrium is significantly smaller. A significant finding of our study is that the cut-off value of 11 mm for the distance of EC from the serosa correlates with the degree of MI. Based on the results of our study, we came to the conclusions that the degree of MI >50% correlates with the AP diameter of the EC, the distance of the tumor from the serosa, and that it is a significant predictor of the existence of lymphovascular invasion, invasion of the uterine cervix and adnexa. Introduction: Staged bilateral surgery is widely used to treat synchronous multiple primary lung cancer (SMPLC); however, the prognostic factors for survival outcomes remain unclear. This study aimed to identify prognostic factors and construct a predictive model for overall survival (OS) and recurrence‐free survival (RFS) in patients with SMPLC who underwent staged bilateral surgery. Methods: The study included 256 patients diagnosed with SMPLC and treated with staged bilateral surgery at our hospital between January 2010 and July 2017. Multivariate Cox proportional‐hazard regression was used to identify prognostic factors for OS and RFS. Additionally, a predictive model was constructed using time‐dependent receiver operating characteristic curves. Results: Among the 256 patients, 10 (3.95%) succumbed to the disease and 24 (9.41%) experienced recurrence. Smoking (hazard ratio [HR]: 5.128; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.442–18.233; p = 0.012) and most advanced pathological TNM (pTNM) stage (II + III) (HR: 12.938; 95% CI: 2.650–63.176; p = 0.002) were identified as significant predictors of poor OS. A prognostic model was developed for predicting OS, with a 5‐year area under the curve (AUC) of 0.854. Furthermore, most advanced pTNM stage (II + III) was associated with poor RFS (HR: 5.964; 95% CI: 2.669–13.327; p < 0.001), and the predictive model exhibited a 5‐year AUC of 0.718 for RFS. Conclusion: This study revealed that smoking and most advanced pTNM stage were independent prognostic factors associated with poor OS in patients with bilateral SMPLC. Background: Adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung (ASC) is a rare non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) subtype combining components of squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) and adenocarcinoma (AC). Data on ASC, particularly in Caucasian populations, are limited. Methods: We reviewed clinicopathological and radiological characteristics of ASC patients diagnosed between 1996 and 2023. Patients were classified into AC-predominant ASC (AC-ASC) and SCC-predominant ASC (SCC-ASC) groups for analysis. Results: Among the 66 patients included, the median overall survival was 41.7 (95% CI, 25.0–54.4), while it was 48.1 (95% CI, 27.3–88.0) in patients treated with curative surgery (n = 44) and 15.3 (95% CI, 6.5–42.6) months for palliative patients (n = 22). The five-year survival rates were 39% and 26%, respectively. Recurrence occurred in 43% of stage I patients and was associated with worse survival (HR 3.303 (95% CI, 1.10–9.89) p = 0.033). AC-ASCs (n = 17) more frequently showed air-bronchogram (p = 0.002) and pleural effusions (p = 0.054) compared to SCC-ASCs (n = 26). SCC-ASCs exhibited more vascular invasion (p = 0.006) and PD-L1 values between 1 and 49% (TPS) (p = 0.032). The subtype did not influence survival. EGFR and ALK alterations were found in 17% and 2% of patients, respectively. Conclusions: Despite early-stage disease, ASC patients had a high recurrence rate, associated with worse survival. Background: Chondrosarcomas (CS) are a rare and heterogenic group of primary malignant bone tumors. In the literature, data on prognostic factors in chondrosarcomas are scarce, and most studies are limited by a short follow-up. The aim of this retrospective study was therefore to determine factors associated with the survival and local recurrence of chondrosarcomas and to compare the results with previous studies. Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 77 patients who were treated for chondrosarcoma of the extremities or pelvis at our tertiary sarcoma center between 1998 and 2007. Patient-related data (age, sex, etc.), tumor characteristics (localization, grading, presence of metastases, etc.), and treatment-related data (previous surgical treatment, type of local treatment, surgical margins, etc.) were evaluated and analyzed for possible correlation with patients' outcomes. A statistical analysis was performed, including multivariate analysis. Results: The mean survival in our patients was 207 months, which resulted in a five-year survival rate of 76%. Negative prognostic factors for survival were histopathological grading, a patient aged over 70 years, and metastatic disease. The quality of the resection (clear or contaminated margins) negatively influenced both the development of local recurrence and survival too, at least in the univariate analysis. In contrast, factors such as tumor localization (extremities vs. pelvis), pathological fractures, or an initial inadequate resection elsewhere had no significant effect on survival. Conclusions: In accordance with results in the literature, the survival of patients with chondrosarcomas is mainly influenced by factors such as tumor grading, age, and metastases. Background: Since the revision of the FIGO staging of endometrial cancer in 2009, patients with positive peritoneal cytology are no longer upstaged to stage IIIA. However, several studies demonstrated poorer outcomes in patients with positive washings. We conducted a survival analysis with the aim of evaluating the impact of positive peritoneal cytology on the survival of EC patients. Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data on patients with endometrial cancer operated in our institution between 2008 and 2014. We analysed the impact of positive peritoneal cytology and other established prognostic factors on survival. Results: A total of 227 patients with a median follow-up of 6.9 years were included in the study. A total of 12.8% had positive peritoneal cytology. Positive peritoneal cytology was significantly associated with worse overall survival (HR 1.82; 95% CI 1.02–3.26; p 0.043) but not with worse recurrence-free survival (HR 1.64; 95% CI 0.92–2.93; p 0.091) in univariate analyses. In addition, tumour stage, histologic subtype, lymphovascular space invasion, grade, and the depth of myometrial invasion were all significant prognostic factors for overall survival in univariate analyses. In multivariate survival analysis, only the histologic subtype, tumour stage, and myometrial invasion remained in the model at the last step. Conclusions: Positive peritoneal cytology was associated with worse overall survival in our series of endometrial cancer patients. Simple Summary: This study investigated the impact of radiation doses to the heart and lungs on overall survival (OS) in patients with locally advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) treated with radiotherapy. An analysis of 120 patients, each with exactly three years of follow-up, revealed that higher radiation doses to the heart and lungs were significantly associated with worse OS. Importantly, the combination of heart and lung radiation doses provided enhanced and more detailed risk stratification, making it a more powerful predictor of poor survival than individual doses alone. These findings suggest that minimizing combined radiation exposure to both organs may improve survival outcomes in LA-NSCLC patients. The specific effects of varying heart and lung doses on OS in LA-NSCLC patients have not been thoroughly investigated, especially their combined impact on survival. This study aimed to examine the impact on OS of both individual and combined heart and lung doses in patients with LA-NSCLC treated with radiotherapy over a three-year follow-up period. Methods: A total of 120 patients who received definitive radiotherapy for LA-NSCLC (stage III, 92.5%) from January 2015 to January 2020 were retrospectively reviewed. The endpoint in this study was OS. Each patient was followed for a fixed period of three years. Results: Univariate Cox regression analysis showed that OS was significantly related to mean heart dose (MHD, hazard ratio [HR], 3.4 [1.8–6.3]; p < 0.001), pericardium V40 (HR, 3.2 [1.7–6.0]; p < 0.001), and total lung V20 (HR, 2.6 [1.4–5.0]; p = 0.003), and these were independent predictors for worse OS in multivariate analysis. Kaplan–Meier curve analysis with log-rank tests revealed that survival was significantly worse in patients with higher MHD (p < 0.001), pericardium V40 (p < 0.001), and total lung V20 (p = 0.002). Combining MHD and total lung V20, and pericardium V40 and total lung V20 provided enhanced risk stratification for OS (p < 0.001 for both combinations). Conclusions: The combination of heart and lung doses provided enhanced and more detailed risk stratification in prediction of OS for a fixed period of three years in LA-NSCLC patients treated with radiotherapy. Background: The effect of tumor budding (TB) on the prognosis of patients with esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) remains unclear. We evaluated the long-term outcomes of patients with superficial ESCC after ESD and the risk factors of TB for the long-term prognosis. Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in a Chinese hospital. All patients with ESCC treated by ESD and reported TB were included consecutively. Comparative analyses were conducted in three parts: specimen analysis, follow-up analyses of unmatched patients, and propensity score-matched (PSM) patients. Cox proportional hazard regression models were constructed to identify risk factors for overall survival and recurrence-free survival (RFS). Results: A total of 437 patients were enrolled [154 TB and 283 no tumor budding (NTB)], and 258 patients (52 TB and 206 NTB) were included in the follow-up analysis. Results showed that the invasion depth, differentiation type, and positive vascular invasion (all p < 0.001) of the TB group were significantly different from the NTB group. The all-cause mortality and the median RFS time between the two groups were comparable. RFS rate at 5 years were 84.6% and 80.6%, respectively (p = 0.43). Cox analyses identified that having other cancers but not TB, as a risk factor independently associated with overall survival and RFS after ESD. Conclusion: TB tends to be associated with invasion depth, differentiation type, and positive vascular invasion. Background: Sarcopenia is a poor prognostic factor in various diseases. Temporal muscle thickness (TMT) has been reported to be associated with sarcopenia. We investigated the prognostic value of TMT in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma. Methods: This study included 61 patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma. Two board-certified otolaryngologists measured TMT based on pre-treatment CT. The following sex-specific TMT cut-off values were used in accordance with previous reports: ≤ 6.3 mm in men, and ≤ 5.2 mm in women. We classified patients into normal TMT group and low TMT group according to the cutoff values. The correlation between the TMT measurements of the two readers was tested using the interclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Cox regression models were used to verify the association between TMT and prognostic factors. Results: The low TMT group had a significantly lower BMI than the normal TMT group. Patients with low TMT at baseline had a significantly higher risk of death than those with normal TMT (hazard ratio 4.51; 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.49–13.61; p = 0.0076). There were no significant differences in disease-specific survival between the two groups. The correlation between the two evaluators' TMT measurements was excellent (ICC 0.988, 95% CI 0.981–0.933). Conclusions: Sex-specific TMT was associated with overall survival in patients with oral squamous cell carcinoma. TMT is easy to assess and its measurement is consistent between evaluators. Purposes: Enterococcal BSI is associated with significant morbidity and mortality, with fatality rates of approximately 20–30%. There are microbiological and clinical differences between E. faecalis and E. faecium infections. The aim of this study was to investigate differences in predisposing factors for E. faecalis and E. faecium BSI and to explore prognostic factors. Methods: This study was a post-hoc analysis of PROBAC, a Spanish prospective, multicenter, cohort in 2016–2017. Patients with E. faecalis or E. faecium BSI were eligible. Independent predictors for BSI development in polymicrobial and monomicrobial BSI and in-hospital mortality in the monomicrobial group were identified by logistic regression. Results: A total of 431 patients were included. Independent factors associated with E. faecium BSI were previous use of penicillins (aOR 1.99 (95% CI 1.20–3.32)) or carbapenems (2.35 (1.12–4.93)), hospital-acquired BSI (2.58 (1.61–4.12)), and biliary tract source (3.36 (1.84–6.13)), while congestive heart failure (0.51 (0.27–0.97)), cerebrovascular disease (0.45 (0.21–0.98)), and urinary tract source (0.49 (0.26–0.92)) were associated with E. faecalis BSI. Independent prognostic factors for in-hospital mortality in E. faecalis BSI were Charlson Comorbidity Index (1.27 (1.08–1.51)), SOFA score (1.47 (1.24–1.73)), age (1.06 (1.02–1.10)), and urinary/biliary source (0.29 (0.09–0.90)). For E. faecium BSI, only SOFA score (1.34 (1.14–1.58) was associated with in-hospital mortality. Conclusions: The factors associated with E. faecium and E. faecalis BSI are different. Background Glioblastoma is the most common malignant brain tumor in adults. Non-invasive clinical parameters could play a crucial role in treatment planning and serve as predictors of patient survival. Our register-based real-life study aimed to investigate the prognostic value of presenting symptoms. Methods Data on presenting symptoms and survival, as well as known prognostic factors, were retrieved for all glioblastoma patients in Sweden registered in the Swedish Brain Tumor Registry between 2018 and 2021. The prognostic impact of different presenting symptoms was calculated using the Cox proportional hazard model. Results Data from 1458 adults with pathologically verified IDH wild-type glioblastoma were analyzed. Median survival time was 345 days. The 2-year survival rate was 21.5%. Registered presenting symptoms were focal neurological deficits, cognitive dysfunction, headache, epilepsy, signs of raised intracranial pressure, and cranial nerve symptoms, with some patients having multiple symptoms. Patients with initial cognitive dysfunction had significantly shorter survival than patients without; 265 days (245–285) vs. 409 days (365–453; P  < .001). The reduced survival remained after Cox regression adjusting for known prognostic factors. Patients presenting with seizures and patients with headaches had significantly longer overall survival compared to patients without these symptoms, but the difference was not retained in multivariate analysis. Patients with cognitive deficits were less likely to have radical surgery and to receive extensive anti-neoplastic nonsurgical treatment. Conclusions This extensive real-life study reveals that initial cognitive impairment acts as an independent negative predictive factor for treatment decisions and adversely affects survival outcomes in glioblastoma patients. More than half of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs) recur within 12 months after curative-intent resection. This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to identify all reported prognostic factors for early recurrence in resected PDACs. After a systematic literature search, a meta-analysis was conducted using a random effects model. Separate analyses were performed for adjusted vs unadjusted effect estimates as well as reported odds ratios (ORs) and hazard ratios (HRs). Risk of bias was assessed using the Quality in Prognostic Studies tool, and evidence was rated according to Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation recommendations. After 2903 abstracts were screened, 65 studies were included. Of these, 28 studies (43.1%) defined early recurrence as evidence of recurrence within 6 months, whereas 34 (52.3%) defined it as evidence of recurrence within 12 months after surgery. Other definitions were uncommon. Analysis of unadjusted ORs and HRs revealed 41 and 5 prognostic factors for early recurrence within 6 months, respectively. When exclusively considering adjusted data, we identified 25 and 10 prognostic factors based on OR and HR, respectively. Using a 12-month definition, we identified 38 (OR) and 15 (HR) prognostic factors from unadjusted data and 38 (OR) and 30 (HR) prognostic factors from adjusted data, respectively. On the basis of frequency counts of adjusted data, preoperative carbohydrate antigen 19-9, N status, nondelivery of adjuvant therapy, grading, and tumor size based on imaging were identified as key prognostic factors for early recurrence. Reported prognostic factors of early recurrence vary considerably. Identified key prognostic factors could aid in the development of a risk stratification framework for early recurrence. Background: Short-term, self-reported changes in symptom severity for musculoskeletal pain disorders may be more strongly associated with long-term prognoses than baseline patient characteristics, because such changes describe a trajectory and not a state. Purpose: To investigate whether short-term improvement in self-reported symptom severity is associated with long-term recovery among adolescents with nontraumatic knee pain (patellofemoral pain [PFP] or Osgood-Schlatter disease [OSD]). Study Design: Cohort study; Level of evidence, 3. Methods: The authors evaluated data from 2 prospective clinical trials that included adolescents aged 10 to 14 years with either PFP (n = 151) or OSD (n = 51). Both groups underwent a self-management rehabilitation program including activity modification, education, and exercise. The primary outcome was a 7-point global rating of change (GROC) scale (from "much improved" to "much worse"); participants were considered to have improved symptoms if they reported being "much improved" or "improved." Outcomes were collected after 4 and 52 weeks. To investigate whether participants who improved according to GROC scores after 4 weeks were more likely to improve after 52 weeks compared with those who had not improved after 4 weeks, the authors calculated the relative risk (RR) of being improved. Results: Among participants with PFP, reporting an improvement after 4 weeks increased the likelihood of an improvement after 52 weeks (RR = 1.26; 95% CI, 1.06-1.50; P =.008); among those with OSD, reporting an improvement after 4 weeks did not increase the likelihood of an improvement after 52 weeks (RR = 1.06; 95% CI, 0.88-1.28; P =.545). Among participants with PFP who did not improve after 4 weeks, 73% reported improvement after 52 weeks, whereas among participants with OSD who did not improve after 4 weeks, 89% reported improvement after 52 weeks. Conclusion: Self-reported improvement after 4 weeks of treatment was associated with better outcomes after 52 weeks among adolescents with PFP. This association was present only among adolescents with PFP, as almost all adolescents with OSD improved after 52 weeks, regardless of short-term results. Importantly, even among adolescents reporting no improvement after 4 weeks, a large proportion reported improvement after 52 weeks. To find the independent factors affecting the prognosis of AITL patients, establish a novel predictive model, and stratify the prognosis of AITL patients. We retrospectively analyzed the clinical data of 86 patients diagnosed with AITL in the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from December 2010 to March 2022. The clinical features, recurrence time, and death time of patients were collected and analyzed statistically. The median age of our patients was 68 years old, and the male-to-female ratio was 2.2: 1. There are differences between males and females in ECOG PS score (p = 0.037), β2 microglobulin levels (p = 0.018) and IgM (p = 0.021). Multivariate COX regression analysis showed that C-reactive protein > 39.3 mg/L (hazard ratio (HR), 5.41; p = 0.0001), Age > 66 years (hazard ratio (HR), 3.06; p = 0.0160), Ki67 positive (hazard ratio (HR), 4.86; p = 0.0010) and early progression of disease within 24 months (POD24) after diagnosis (hazard ratio (HR), 12.47; p = 0.0001) were independent factors affecting the prognosis of OS. KM analysis showed that the predictive model established by these four factors could effectively predict the prognosis of patients with AITL (p < 0.0001), and the ROC curve showed that the predictive ability of the new predictive model (AUC = 0.909) was significantly better than that of the traditional predictive models, such as IPI (AUC = 0.730), PIT (AUC = 0.720), PIAI (AUC = 0.715) and AITL score (AUC = 0.724). Age, C-reactive protein, Ki67, and POD24 were independent factors affecting the prognosis of OS. This case report delves into the case of a 56-year-old female patient presenting with progressive cephalalgia syndrome, nausea, vomiting, and gait disorders, diagnosed with a high-grade thalamic glioma. Glioma is the most common form of central nervous system (CNS) neoplasm that originates from glial cells. Gliomas are diffusely infiltrative tumors that affect the surrounding brain tissue. Glioblastoma is the most malignant type, while pilocytic astrocytomas are the least malignant brain tumors. In the past, these diffuse gliomas were classified into different subtypes and grades based on histopathologies such as a diffuse astrocytoma, oligodendrogliomas, or mixed gliomas/oligoastrocytomas. Currently, gliomas are classified based on molecular and genetic markers. After the gross total resection, a postoperative brain CT scan was conducted, which confirmed the quasi-complete resection of the tumor. The successful gross total resection of the tumor in this case, coupled with significant neurological improvement postoperatively, illustrates the potential benefits of aggressive surgical management for thalamic gliomas. This report advocates for further research to assess the efficacy of such interventions in malignant cases and to establish standardized treatment protocols, considering the heterogeneity in prognostic outcomes and the advancements in molecular diagnostics that offer deeper insights into glioma oncogenesis and progression. Human papillomavirus (HPV) infection is a causative factor in the occurrence and progression of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC). In recent years, clinical studies have found that HPV‐positive OPSCC patients may present a better prognosis than HPV‐negative patients, yet the underlying causes are unclear. This study aimed to investigate the relevance of HPV infection and the prognosis of OPSCC. On this basis, we aimed to establish a prediction model to accurately predict the prognosis and guide clinical practice. We analysed the records of 233 patients with OPSCC. Cox regression was applied to identify factors associated with survival. Moreover, variables with significant discrepancies were integrated into a nomogram model to predict prognosis. The results showed that HPV was an independent prognostic factor for OS and PFS. Immunoglobulin Heavy Constant Mu (IGHM) mRNA was significantly upregulated in patients with HPV‐positive OPSCC. Crucially, IGHM expression was associated with better prognosis. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, calibration curves, and decision curve analysis both confirmed that the prognostic model exhibits good performance. In summary, HPV infection were independent prognostic factors for OPSCC. IGHM may be the key contributors to the prognostic differences in HPV‐associated OPSCC. Background: The Naples prognostic score (NPS) determined by the nutritional and inflammatory condition of an individual is attracting growing attention for predicting postoperative outcomes in a variety of malignancies. The study aimed to assess the clinical significance of a modified NPS (M-NPS) and establish and validate nomograms incorporating M-NPS in curative stage II-III colon cancer patients. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 328 stage II-III colon cancer patients receiving radical surgical resection at our hospital from January 2011 to December 2016. Kaplan–Meier (KM) survival analysis and Cox regression analysis were executed for overall survival (OS) and cancer-specific survival (CSS). Independent predictive indicators were applied to develop nomograms. The model’s performance was evaluated using many different methods. Results: Of a total of 328 cases, 153 cases were in group 0, 145 in group 1, and 30 in group 2. In terms of OS or CSS, there were obvious differences between groups 0 and 1, and between groups 0 and 2. Age, obstruction, N stage, gross tumor type, and M-NPS group were independent prognostic indicators for OS, while obstruction, gross tumor type, M-NPS group, and N stage were independent predictive parameters for CSS. Furthermore, the training and validation sets were randomly allocated among a cohort of 328 patients. OS and CSS prediction nomograms were developed. In the training and validation cohort, the C-index and ROC analysis showed good discrimination, calibration curves exhibited an excellent level of consistency between model-predicted survival and actual survival outcomes, and DCA curves demonstrated good clinical performance. Conclusion: M-NPS is a reliable survival predictor in patients with curative stage II-III colon cancer. Vision loss secondary to aesthetic filler treatment is a rare but disastrous complication. The aim of this review was to update the published cases of blindness after filler injection that have occurred since our group published reviews of 98 cases in 2015 and an additional 48 cases in 2019. A literature review was performed to identify all cases of visual complications caused by filler injection published between September 2018 and March 2023. The cases were analyzed independently and in combination with previously reviewed cases. Analyses were based on the number of cases with data available. A total of 365 new cases of partial or complete vision loss after filler injection were identified. The sites that were highest risk were the nose (40.6%), forehead (27.7%), and glabella (19.0%). The filler injected was hyaluronic acid in 79.6% of cases. The most common associated signs were ptosis (56.2%), ophthalmoplegia (44.1%), pain (31.2%), and skin changes (73.2%). Strokelike features were seen in 19.2% of cases. Of the cases reporting visual outcomes (318), 6.0% experienced complete vision recovery, 25.8% had partial improvement in visual acuity, and 68.2% had no vision recovery. Partially preserved visual acuity at onset was a significant predictor of visual improvement (P <.001). The 3 most common treatments were subcutaneous hyaluronidase at or near the filler site (70.1%), systemic steroids (57.3%), and intraarterial thrombolytic therapy (56.0%). No treatments were significantly associated with visual improvement (P >.05). Although blindness and stroke from fillers is a rare complication, practitioners who inject filler should have a thorough knowledge of prevention and management strategies. Background: Advanced breast cancer (ABC) is a heterogeneous disease with varied prognoses, that is affected by many clinicopathological features. This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological characteristics, first-line treatment (FLx), and prognostic impact of these features on survival among Syrian patients with ABC. Materials and methods: This retrospective cohort study included patients with ABC. The association of clinicopathological factors with survival was assessed using Kaplan-Meier curves and the log-rank test, as well as the Cox proportional hazards regression model to calculate the hazard ratio (HaR). Results: A total of 423 patients with ABC were included in the study, with a median age (range) of 47 years (23-82). 83% of metastases were metachronous. Most patients (91.8%) received chemotherapy as the FLx. The median progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) of all the patients were 7 and 16 months, respectively. The median PFS was associated with four factors, which were time of metastasis (adjusted HaR=1.861, 95% CI 1.420-2.438, P<0.0001), performance status (PS) (adjusted HaR=1.456, 95% CI 1.049-2.021, P=0.025), ovarian metastasis (adjusted HaR=7.907, 95% CI 1.049-59.576, P=0.045), and FLx (adjusted HaR=2.536, 95% CI 1.581-4.068, P<0.0001). Similarly, the OS was associated with three factors, including hormone receptors (HRs) status (adjusted HaR=1.124, 95% CI 1.009-1.252, P=0.034), time of metastasis (adjusted HaR=2.099, 95% CI 1.588-2.775, P<0.0001), and PS (adjusted HaR=1.787, 95% CI 1.429-2.233, P<0.0001). In the HR-positive/human epidermal growth receptor 2 (HER2)-negative group, endocrine therapy was significantly associated with longer PFS compared with chemotherapy (15 vs 7 months, adjusted HaR=2.699, 95% CI 1.417-5.143, P=0.003). Furthermore, there was no difference in OS between the two treatment modalities (P=0.855). Conclusions: ABC survival varies depending on the location of metastases. Good PS and synchronous stage 4 disease were independent prognostic factors for longer PFS and OS. In the HR-positive/HER2-negative group, PFS for endocrine therapy was significantly longer than chemotherapy, with no differences in OS. Objective: Metaplastic breast carcinoma (MBC) is a special type of morphologically heterogeneous and aggressively invasive breast cancer. MBC is characterized by the transformation of tumor epithelium into squamous epithelium and/or mesenchymal components, including differentiation into spindle cells, chondrocytes, and osteocytes. Due to its rarity and invasiveness, there is a paucity of research on MBC prognosis. Furthermore, there are currently no treatment guidelines for MBC. This study analyzed the clinicopathological characteristics, immunophenotype, and prognostic features of MBC. Our aim was to better characterize MBC, thereby identifying potential prognostic factors and new treatment methods. Moreover, we also describe an MBC case treated experimentally with anti-vascular targeted therapy. Material and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed clinical pathological data on 54 female patients with MBC from Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital and the XiJing Hospital of Air Force Medical University. These cases were diagnosed with MBC between January 1st, 2013, and October 1st, 2018. All patients were from the northwest region of China. The gross morphological, histological, and immunohistochemical features of MBC were analyzed. Kaplan–Meier analysis was used to calculate the survival rate, and univariate analysis was performed to identify significant prognostic factors. In addition, the treatment of an MBC patient with anti-angiogenic therapy was described, and a relevant literature review was conducted. Results: MBC was diagnosed in 32 left breasts and 22 right breasts from 54 women aged 21–76 years (median age of 57 years). The maximum tumor diameter ranged from 0.6 to 14 cm (average of 4.1 cm). Of the 54 patients, 47 underwent surgical treatment, with lymph node metastasis found in 17.0% (8/47). According to the World Health Organization classification criteria for breast tumors, the study cohort consisted of 15 cases of squamous cell carcinoma, ten cases of spindle cell carcinoma, nine cases of carcinoma with associated stromal differentiation, 18 cases of mixed carcinoma, and two cases of adenocarcinoma with squamous differentiation. Based on the American Joint Committee on Cancer clinical staging criteria, the patients were classified as Stage I (10 cases, 18.5%), Stage II (26 cases, 48.1%), Stage III (11 cases, 20.4%), and Stage IV (7 cases, 13.0%). Immunohistochemical analysis revealed that 94.4% of patients had triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), 47 cases showed mutant tumor protein 53 (TP53) expression, 29 cases showed positive epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) expression, 43 cases showed positive E-cadherin expression, and 37 cases showed positive Cluster of Differentiation 24 expression. The Ki-67 index ranged from 20% to 90%. Univariate analysis showed that the Ki-67 index was not significantly associated with either progression-free survival (PFS) or overall survival (OS) in MBC patients. Patients with negative axillary lymph nodes had significantly better PFS and OS than those with positive nodes (P < 0.05), and patients with clinical stage I-II disease had better PFS and OS than those with stage III-IV disease (P < 0.05). Patients treated with anthracycline-containing chemotherapy had significantly better PFS than those who did not receive chemotherapy. Univariate analysis revealed that the high expression of EGFR correlated with worse PFS (P < 0.05). The type of surgical approach employed did not affect the prognosis of MBC patients. Following the application of anti-angiogenic therapy, a rapid partial response was observed in an MBC patient with carcinoma and associated stromal differentiation. This patient subsequently underwent surgery and radiation therapy and has now achieved over 6 years of PFS. Conclusion: MBC is a heterogeneous group of tumors with high malignancy and poor prognosis. The large majority is TNBC and exhibits unique immune phenotypes. The poor PFS of MBC patients may be related to EGFR expression, which could become a potential therapeutic target in these patients. Surgery remains the primary treatment method for MBC. The present study found that sentinel lymph node biopsy was feasible in appropriate patients, and that chemotherapy regimens incorporating anthracycline-class drugs did not appear to improve OS. Anti-angiogenic therapy holds promise as a potentially effective treatment approach for MBC, and the optimization of systemic treatment strategies should be a priority in the management of these patients. Simple Summary: Although some of the novel systemic treatments, especially the group of tyrosine kinase inhibitors, have shown a durable central nervous system response, ionizing radiation remains the mainstay in the management of brain metastases (BM). Recent technological advancements have enabled the replacement of whole-brain radiotherapy with localized stereotactic radiotherapy (SRT) for treating up to 10 BM, either as a primary or combined treatment, reducing neurotoxicity and improving local control (LC). The delivered target dose and patient selection play a crucial role in enhancing treatment efficacy. However, there is still limited evidence supporting which factors most affect LC and which patients derive the greatest benefit from SRT. This retrospective single-institutional study evaluated treatment outcomes in a heterogeneous patient population treated with Linac-based SRT, with the aim of identifying potential dosimetric and clinical prognostic factors to better inform the decision-making process. Background/Objectives: To report on predictive factors in Linac-based SRT for single and multiple BM. Methods: Consecutive patients receiving either one or three fractions of single-isocenter coplanar VMAT SRT were retrospectively included. The GTV-PTV margin was 1–2 mm. The delivered target dose was estimated by recalculating the original plans on roto-translated CT according to errors recorded by post-treatment CBCT. The Kaplan–Meier method estimated local progression-free survival (LPFS), intracranial progression-free survival (IPFS), and overall survival (OS). Log-rank and Wilcoxon–Mann–Whitney tests evaluated inter-group differences, whereas Cox regression analysis assessed prognostic factors. Results: Fifty females and fifty males, with a median age of 69 years, received 107 SRTs. A total of 213 BM (range, 1–10 per treatment) with a median volume of 0.22 cc were irradiated with a median minimum BED of 59.5 Gy. The median delivered GTV D95 reduction was −0.3%. The median follow-up was 11 months. Nineteen LP events and a 1-year LC rate of 90.1% were observed. The GTV coverage did not correlate with LC, while the GTV volume was a risk factor for LP, with the 1-year rate dropping to 73% for volumes ≥ 0.88 cc. The median LPFS, IPFS, and OS were 6, 5, and 7 months, respectively. Multivariate analysis showed that patients with melanoma histology and those receiving a second or subsequent systemic therapy line had the worst outcomes, whereas patients with adenocarcinoma histology and mutations showed better results. Conclusions: The accuracy and efficacy of the Linac-based SRT approach for BM were confirmed, but the dose distribution alone failed to predict the treatment response, suggesting that other factors must be considered to maximize SRT outcomes. Background: Brain arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) are challenging vascular lesions. Extensive follow-up studies are necessary to refine the therapeutic algorithm, and to improve long-term survival in these patients. The aim of the study was to assess surgical outcomes, and to evaluate overall long-term mortality in patients treated for brain AVMs. Methods: This retrospective single-center study included 191 patients with brain AVMs, admitted between 2012 and 2022. Clinical and angiographical particularities have been analyzed, to identify factors that might influence early outcome and overall long-term mortality. Results: Out of 79 patients undergoing surgery, 51 had ruptured AVMs with total resection achieved in 68 cases (86.1%). Deep venous drainage was associated with incomplete resection. Female sex, admission modified Rankin Scale (mRS) > 2, and eloquent location were independent predictors of poor outcomes. Multiple venous drainage was associated with a higher risk of worsened early outcome. Eloquent brain region involvement, conservative treatment, increasing age, admission mRS > 2, and comorbidities significantly decrease survival in brain AVM patients. Patients treated with interventional treatments had significantly better survival than the conservatively managed ones, when adjusting for age and admission mRS. Conclusion: The study identified female sex, poor neurologic status on admission and eloquence as independent prognostic factors for a negative outcome after surgery. Patients who received interventional treatment had significantly better survival than patients managed conservatively. Background: Stroke is a severe complication of infective endocarditis (IE), associated with high rates of mortality. Data on how IE patients with and without stroke differ may help to improve understanding contributing mechanisms. Methods: All patients treated for IE between 2019 and 2021 with and without associated stroke were identified from the medical records of three academic tertiary care hospitals in Germany, all part of Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Germany. Multivariable logistic regression analyses were performed to identify variables associated with the occurrence of stroke. Results: The study population consisted of 353 patients diagnosed with IE. Concomitant stroke occurred in 96/353 (27.2%) patients. Acute stroke was independently associated with co-occurring extracerebral arterial embolism [adjusted Odds ratio (aOR = 2.52; 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.35–4.71)], acute liver failure (aOR = 2.62; 95% CI 1.06–6.50), dental focus of infection (aOR = 3.14; 95% CI 1.21–8.12) and left-sided IE (aOR = 28.26; 95% CI 3.59-222.19). Stroke was found less often in IE patients with congenital heart disease (aOR = 0.20; 95% CI 0.04–0.99) and atypical pathogens isolated from blood culture (aOR = 0.31; 95% CI 0.14–0.72). Conclusions: Stroke is more likely to occur in individuals with systemic complications affecting other organs, too. Special attention should be addressed to dental status. The low incidence of stroke in patients with congenital heart disease may reflect awareness and prophylactic measures. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Twenty years after the conceptual revolution that occurred in the millennium turnaround upon the introduction of PET/CT in lymphoma staging, restaging, and prognostication, a number of new parameters for PET reading have been proposed: (1) the shift from a qualitative to a semi‐quantitative reading for PET reporting, (2) an international consensus on these novel interpretation keys, (3) a standardized and agreed procedure to measure the total metabolic tumour volume (TMTV), and (4) the proposition of new indexes to portray the tumour spread: (D‐Max and Total Lesion Surface –TLS). These proved to be very powerful prognosticators, able to revolutionize the traditional Ann Arbor four‐stage lymphoma staging. During the 17° Lugano meeting on lymphoma, one main question was asked to experts attending a closed workshop dedicated to new metrics for lymphoma diagnosis, staging, restaging, and prognostication: "Should the traditional 4‐stage anatomic staging system be simplified to a more clinically relevant 2‐stage system (e.g., limited vs. extensive disease)?" Summary: Idiopathic hypereosinophilic syndrome (iHES) is a condition wherein persistent hypereosinophilia associated with end‐organ damage occurs without any known causes. Due to the rarity of the disease, insufficient knowledge has been accumulated. We therefore conducted a retrospective, multicentre, nationwide survey on iHES in Japan. A total of 57 patients were identified. For 43 patients who received any treatment, all cases were first treated with corticosteroids. An eosinophil percentage of less than 30% in the bone marrow and the absence of oedema were identified as factors associated with steroid dependency. The 5‐year overall survival was 88.2%, and five patients died during follow‐up; factors associated with worse overall survival were age >50, haemoglobin <12 g/dL, activated partial thromboplastin time >34 s, the presence of dyspnoea, the presence of thrombotic tendency and the presence of renal failure. Given the rarity of fatalities in our cohort, time‐to‐next‐treatment (TTNT) was further analysed; the presence of renal failure, splenomegaly and lung abnormalities were associated with worse TTNT. Our nationwide study not only demonstrated clinical characteristics and the outcome of patients with iHES but also for the first time revealed clinical factors associated with steroid dependency and duration of first‐line corticosteroid efficacy. OBJECTIVES Despite excellent 5-year survival, there are limited data on the long-term prognostic characteristics of clinical stage IA part-solid lung adenocarcinoma. The objective was to elucidate the dynamics of prognostic characteristics through conditional survival analysis. METHODS Consecutive patients who underwent complete resection for clinical stage IA part-solid lung adenocarcinoma between 2011 and 2015 were retrospectively reviewed. Conditional survival is defined as the probability of surviving further y years, conditional on the patient has already survived x years. The conditional recurrence-free survival (CRFS) and conditional overall survival (COS) were analysed to evaluate prognosis over time, with conditional Cox regression analysis performed to identify time-dependent prognostic factors. RESULTS A total of 1539 patients were included with a median follow-up duration of 98.4 months, and 80 (5.2%) patients experienced recurrence. Among them, 20 (1.3%) recurrence cases occurred after 5 years of follow-up with 100% intrathoracic recurrence. The 5-year CRFS increased from 95.8% to 97.4%, while the 5-year COS maintained stable. Multivariable Cox analysis revealed that histologic subtype was always an independent prognostic factor for CRFS even after 5 years of follow-up, while the independent prognostic value of consolidation-to-tumour ratio, visceral pleural invasion and lymph node metastasis was observed only within 5 years. Besides, age, pathologic size and lymph node metastasis maintained independent predictive value for COS during long-term follow-up, while consolidation-to-tumour ratio was predictive for COS only within 5 years of follow-up. CONCLUSIONS The independent prognostic factors for clinical stage IA part-solid lung adenocarcinoma changed over time, along with gradually increasing 5-year CRFS and stable 5-year COS.
