Due to shortage in workforce and difficulties in recruiting social and health-care managers, it is crucial to investigate and develop the work well-being of managers. The existing evidence mostly concerns clinical contexts in social and health-care. We studied work well-being through the following categories: (1) individual factors, (2) social factors, (3) professional support from the manager, (4) work-related factors, and (5) organizational factors. The study aims to investigate (1) management levels, (2) years of experience in management, and (3) professional groups that are connected to their work well-being in these categories. We conducted a survey (N = 281) and formed logistic regression models to answer the research questions. Working as an upper-level manager, having more than 26 years of managerial experience, and working as a physician or in a group 'other' are factors that are positively connected to work wellbeing. While in the middle of one's managerial career (6–25 years) or working as a nurse manager is negatively connected to work well-being. This study produces specific knowledge to understand the factors connected to social and health-care managers' work well-being and to identify those groups that are at a risk of experiencing poor well-being at work. The last twenty years of open science advocacy and the more recent proliferation of programs and funding have shown that open science has become a veritable mantra. The term relates to a variety of initiatives and dimensions, from opening up the institutional governance of institutions to opening up access to scientific articles, research fields, data production, and so on. As mentioned in the call for proposals in this special issue, the diversity of these initiatives makes it difficult to carry out a comparative analysis.

Introduction. For sociology, it is important to understand the content and forms of integration of IT specialists as one of the types of social associations. Such an analysis is important to carry out since the interpretation and content characteristics of this community subsequently guide all other elements of the strategy of theoretical and empirical research. In particular, it is relevant to identify: in what capacity of a “professional community” or “professional group” IT specialists act as a real social phenomenon.Methodology and sources. Theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of IT specialists involved identifying the nature and forms of their social integration: as socioprofessional groups, or as socio-professional communities. Based on the analysis of the fundamental provisions of foreign and Russian sociologists F. Tennis, J. Shchepansky, R. Merton, K. Manheim, T.M. Mills, P.A. Sorokin, V.A. Yadov, and many others, the differences in the understanding of “community” and “group” are revealed as a reflection of the special essential characteristics of these forms of integration.Results and discussion. The results of the analysis of statistical data show that the concept of a social group is used much more often than the concept of community in characterizing integration processes; this is a more relevant category for modern research. The results confirm the significant connection between the concept of “group” and the concepts of “values”, “common goal”, and “professional”. Exploring the numerous features of IT specialists, such as self-education, the desire to organize training based on introspection, significant differences from other specialists in the system of professions “human-sign system”, such as erudition and logical thinking, mastering mathematics, English language, the Internet as necessary starting conditions for entering the profession, the authors use the definition of a professional or social group.Conclusion. IT professionals should be considered a special socio-professional group with all the signs of such social integration. IT professionals operate in today's multidimensional social space. As a social group, IT specialists are united by the presence of a common feature – activities in a special environment – in the information and digital space, common social values.

ABSTRACT – In this essay we argue that journalists’ engagements, their fights, reveal, indeed, the dynamics of how their professional identities are constructed. By engaging in a struggle, the journalist seeks to state something about himself, for himself (and his profession group) and for the others (actors that participate in this public combat). The journalism fights reveal the way the professional group (or part of it) tries to manage its relationship with rival actors at the same time it expresses a public discourse about its practice, its identity. The journalism fights reveal the temporary or permanent alliance journalists establish within the professional group, as so with external actors who share the same interests. Fighting is also participating in the construction of a social problem, by converting some issues/situations specific to the professional group to a subject that interest the whole society. RESUMO – Neste ensaio, argumentamos que o engajamento dos jornalistas, suas lutas, revelam as dinâmicas de construção das identidades profissionais. O jornalista, quando se engaja em um combate, tem a intenção de dizer algo sobre si, para si (para o grupo profissional) e para os outros (atores que participam do combate público). Os combates do jornalismo revelam a forma como o grupo profissional (ou parte dele) busca gerir as relações com atores concorrentes ao mesmo tempo em que exprime um discurso público sobre sua prática, sua identidade. Os combates do jornalismo também revelam as alianças, temporárias ou permanentes, que os jornalistas estabelecem no interior do grupo, mas também com atores externos, que partilham dos mesmos interesses. Combater é também participar da construção de um problema público, por meio da conversão de certas questões/situações específicas ao grupo profissionais em um tema de interesse da sociedade. RESUMEN – En este ensayo, sostenemos que el compromiso de los periodistas, sus luchas, revelan la dinámica de construcción de sus identidades profesionales. Cuando el periodista entra en combate, él pretende decir algo sobre sí mismo, para sí mismo (para el grupo profesional) y para los demás (actores que participan en el combate público). Las luchas del periodismo revelan la forma en que el grupo profesional (o parte de él) procura gestionar las relaciones con sus competidores mientras expresa un discurso público sobre su práctica y identidad. Los combates del periodismo también revelan las alianzas, temporales o permanentes, que los periodistas establecen dentro del grupo, pero también con actores externos, que comparten los mismos intereses. Combatir es también participar en la construcción de un problema público, a través de la conversión de determinadas cuestiones/situaciones propias del colectivo profesional en un tema de interés para la sociedad.

Purpose: of the article is to develop a methodology for assessing the formation of an enterprise human capital, which is based on the calculation of indices of formal and informal learning of its employees.Methods: this article is based on the key provisions of the theory of human capital. The focus of this research is the specific enterprise human capital. The questionnaire method was used, which allowed assessing the development of the enterprise human capital based on the opinions of its direct carriers – employees representing different professional groups. The index method was used. Based on the calculation of the indices of formal and informal learning, the composite indices of the formation of human capital were determined, reflecting the assessment of the actual learning of employees and the desired state in which they feel the need. Visualization of the obtained results is presented in the form of theperception map.Results: the article presents an improved methodology for assessing the formation of human capital of an enterprise. The assessment of the formation of human capital of various professional groups of employees of the enterprise is carried out. The conducted research has shown that the need for formal and informal learning in various professional groups is differentiated. The essence of the author's position is that one of the most important tasks of the enterprise for the development of human capital is the organization of formal and informal learning of its employees in accordance with the current and future needs of the enterprise itself. The prospects for the development of the enterprise human capital are seen in the development of its vocational education ecosystem by strengthening relationships with educational organizations and other providers of new progressive knowledge, and also by strengthening the relationship between formal and informal learning.Conclusions and Relevance: the approach to the assessment of the human capital development of an enterprise considered in the article allows us to give practical recommendations on optimizing the organization of learning of the enterprise employees. The results of the study can be used by the professional community, including business leaders, to form a strategy for the development of human capital.

Employees who have relevant information about the functioning of the organization sometimes decide to share this information, and in other cases, they choose not to disclose their opinion. In the literature on the subject, this phenomenon is called organizational silence. This study aimed to try to answer whether the position in the organization and belonging to a specific professional group will impact organizational silence. The survey covered representatives of employees of two professional groups - doctors and nurses. The questionnaires were completed by 30 doctors and 35 nurses. The study showed that in the three analyzed situations, the hypothesis, assuming that the silence of employees is more pronounced in a situation where the violation of the applicable professional standards concerns people from the same professional group of nurses or doctors, was confirmed only in the case of a "mistake in administering the drug". The concept of social group and its indications are considered in the article. Through a comparison with the social community the designation of university teachers as a socioprofessional group is justified. Based on empirical research results the traits of the specified group is revealed. Data analysis a questionnaire survey and in-depth interviews allows to show what changes occur in the characteristics of socio-professional group of university teachers under the influence of the transformational processes in higher education.

Nurses in psychiatric service are a special group of nursing professionals. Their individualization is due to the specific needs of their patients who have increased level of aggressiveness, behavioral and communicative deviations and problems in self-service. These patients’ quality factors increase the risks of medical staff intolerance. As mechanisms of intolerance decrease some specific mechanisms of tolerance are developed in professional nursing practices. These include specific corporative standards, religious practices and forms of group action.Staff members can approve, ignore or condemn intolerance towards patients, the regulatory basis for this position at the level of subcultural organizational standards meaning the application of moral sanctions to an offender. Active inclusion of religious affiliations in the life of psychiatric healthcare institutions allows external moral arbitrator to enter professional space influencing both the behavior of professionals and the system of moral standards. Specificity of nursing profession in psychiatry requires additional means of inprofessionalization and professional improvement which are spontaneous practices of mentoring (guidance) in psychiatric hospital. All the mechanisms of tolerance increase hold professional community of nurses in psychiatry together.

Created in 1961 by Rue Bucher and Anselm Strauss, the notion of segment has been intensively used to describe occupations’ internal diversity. However, we argue, the usage of the notion is often too loose. Authors tend to identify the existence of segments in every single divide, a confusion which limits our understanding of professional dynamics. First, the paper suggests looking at intraprofessional segments using the notion of identity and Rogers Brubaker’s framework on social movements. Then, we examine a specific case study – the history of museum curators in France, and their segmentation in the 1960s and 1970s – to understand how internal divides combine and grow into agonistic segments.
