Private school leaders consider the potential benefits of private school choice program participation against costs associated with program regulations. Rational Choice Theory suggests leaders in states with conditions related to greater likelihood of program passage may be less willing to accept such regulations. To test this theory, we merge experimental data from a national study of private school choice program regulations with state-level data on political partisanship and union strength. We find limited evidence of heterogeneity by partisanship. We find leaders in states with weaker teachers' unions are more reluctant to accept standardized testing requirements and copay prohibition.

African American women bear a mental health burden and are less likely to seek and receive appropriate services than their dominant culture peers. African Americans may underutilize professional counseling services due to factors such as stigma, healthy cultural mistrust, and cultural values. To date, researchers have paid limited attention to ways to break through barriers to mental health equity. This phenomenological study examined the lived experiences of ten African American women who sought service from licensed professional counselors. Participants sought help after failure of self-care and traditional supports, recognized barriers, and approached counseling as a last resort. Through counseling, they found new perspectives, surprise connections, and opportunities for growth. Findings inform communities about what counseling is (and is not) as well as different types of support that can be obtained from a professional counselor. The synthesis and evaluation of the newest generation of our DFO2 chelator family—DFO2K—is described. DFO2K was designed with a simple synthetic route to access different bifunctional derivatives, with each derivative having similar metal ion coordination spheres and high denticity (up to 12 coordinate) to ensure stable coordination of zirconium-89. The high denticity could potentially enhance stability with other large oxophilic radiometals. Zirconium-89 is the most popular radionuclide to pair with large macromolecules such as antibodies (immunoPET) for positron emission tomography applications. Although clinically successful, the stability of the "gold standard" chelator desferrioxamine B (DFO) can be improved as significant bone uptake is observed in animal models, despite no obvious stability issues in humans. Following the synthesis of DFO2K we assessed its radiolabeling efficiency with zirconium-89 and compared with DFO, which revealed rapid and nearly identical radiolabeling kinetics to DFO. The resultant [89Zr]Zr–DFO2K complex showed improved stability over [89Zr]Zr–DFO in different in vitro stability assays such as hydroxyapatite and 1000-fold molar excess EDTA challenges. Furthermore, biodistribution studies of the non-bifunctional chelators in healthy mice showed that [89Zr]Zr–DFO2K had a similar distribution profile and clearance to [89Zr]Zr–DFO. The bifunctional derivative p-SCN–Ph–DFO2K was conjugated to a non-specific human IgG antibody and evaluated after 2 weeks circulating in healthy female CD1 mice. Mice administered [89Zr]Zr–DFO2K–IgG showed substantially lower bone uptake in PET-CT images than [89Zr]Zr–DFO–IgG, with PET ROI data and ex vivo biodistribution revealing a statistically significantly lower bone uptake for DFO2K. Overall, owing to its high denticity, ease of synthesis, improved solubility over DFO2 and DFO2p, and stable chelation of zirconium-89, DFO2K appears to be an improved alternative chelator to DFO for zirconium-89 chelation. Enrollments in religious higher education institutions have increased in recent years. Leaders of these institutions often cite students' desire to attend a college or university supportive of their faith as a reason for enrolling. However, limited research has been done on whether religious colleges and universities are more supportive of faith than secular institutions. We analyze a sample of private Christian school alumni and compare perceived faith support of students who attended a religious higher education institution with similar students who attended a secular institution. We find students of religious higher education institutions reported significantly higher levels of feeling supported (roughly 1.2 standard deviations) or strengthened in their faith (roughly 0.4 standard deviations) and significantly lower levels of feeling attacked for their faith (roughly 0.8 standard deviations). Differences are particularly pronounced for students who report having been a Christian for many years and for students who attend religious services weekly or more frequently. This mixed methods program evaluation study was designed to assist faculty in better understanding students' multicultural and social justice training experiences, with the goal of improving program curriculum and instruction. It also offers a model for counselor educators to assess student experiences and to make changes that center social justice. A total of 139 first-semester students and advanced practicum students responded to an online survey. The Consensual Qualitative Research-Modified (CQR-M) method was used to analyze brief written narratives. The Multicultural Counseling Competence and Training Survey (MCCTS) and the Advocacy Competencies Self-Assessment Survey (ACSA) were used to triangulate the qualitative data. Qualitative findings revealed student growth in awareness, knowledge, skills, and action, particularly for advanced students, with many students reporting a desire for more social justice instruction. Some students of color reported microaggressions and concerns that training centers White students. Quantitative analyses generally supported the qualitative findings and showed advanced students reporting higher multicultural and advocacy competencies compared to beginning students. Private school choice programs' success depends partly on the supply of private schools. Many parents prioritize a religious education for their children. Therefore, it is important to consider how religious private schools may respond to various program regulations. We conducted an experimental study surveying a national sample of 354 leaders of Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) member schools, the second largest private school organization of any kind in the United States. We find evidence that while over four-fifths of Christian school leaders are inclined to participate with no changes to school operations, open enrollment mandates reduce participation rates by 62 percentage points and employment regulations reduce participation rates by 79 percentage points. Four new acyclic ligands, Bn-[H.sub.3]nonapa (3), [H.sub.3]nonapa (4), pN[O.sub.2]-Bn-[H.sub.3]nonapa (10), and Bn[H.sub.3]trenpa (7), were synthesized and studied with nonradioactive [In.sup.3+] and with radioactive [sup.111][In.sup.3+]. The coordination of these ligands to [In.sup.3+] was confirmed by high-resolution mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Radiolabeling experiments were performed with [sup.111][In.sup.3+]; these demonstrated [H.sub.3]nonapa (4) to be the best indium ligand of those studied herein, achieving radiochemical yields of ~97% in 10 min at ambient temperature, and stability to transchelation in mouse serum of 44.5% ± 25.9% after 24 h. Although the radiolabeling kinetics of [H.sub.3]nonapa (4) were excellent, serum stability results were inferior to the previously studied ligands DOTA, DTPA, and [H.sub.4]octapa, suggesting that the presented ligands may find their optimum radiopharmaceutical applications with isotopes other than [sup.111]In. First-year college students are at-risk for mental health concerns that surface or are exacerbated by transition to college academics and new lifestyle. The purpose of this article is to: (a) investigate the mental health needs of first-year college students, (b) examine the benefits of an expressive arts group for this population, and (c) present an example of an eight-week expressive arts group curriculum. We describe the rationale for incorporating expressive arts into group therapy with first-year college students and describe an eight-week expressive arts group curriculum designed to help first-year college students connect to others, cope with college demands, and create new ways of expressing themselves. A detailed study was conducted to obtain a novel bifunctional chelate alternatives to the aminocarboxylate macrocycles NOTA ([N.sub.3][O.sub.3]) or DOTA [N.sub.4][O.sub.4]) for application of radioisotopes of Ga to diagnostic nuclear medicine. The results from the complete syntheses, characterizations, labeling studies, and biodistribution profiles of the linear [N.sub.4][O.sub.2] chelate [H.sub.2]dedpa which coordinates [super 67]Ga quantitatively to form [[super 67]Ga(dedpa)](+) after 10 min at RT represents the new platform chelates with higher stability than that of DOTA.

Gay and lesbian individuals often wait until moving away to college before they come out to their parents. Individuals who are rejected by their parents often report mental health concerns, whereas individuals who perceive sexuality-related support from their parents report higher self-esteem and improved well-being. However, researchers have conducted limited work in exploring the nature of sexuality-related support within the family. The purpose of this study was to explore how gay and lesbian college students created meaning out of their coming-out process to their parents. The study posed the following research question: What are the lived experiences of gay and lesbian college students who have experienced support from their parents during the coming-out process? Seven current gay and lesbian students who came during college were interviewed about their relationship with their parents before, during, and after their coming-out disclosure. Using a phenomenological analysis, 9 major themes were identified: awareness of feeling different, positive relationship prior to coming out, college impacting the coming-out process, feeling unsure of how parents would respond to disclosure, parents assuring continued love and acceptance, parents affirming identity, increased relational depth with parents, increased sense of authenticity, and an appreciation for family's response and support. The findings provide insight into how counselors might work with gay and lesbian college students and their parents. Opportunities for future research and limitations are also discussed.
