En aquest assaig, reuneixo i presento unes opinions unitàries sobre el sexe i la vida, com a forma de conviure en el nostre planeta oxidatiu, assolint estats dinàmics d’equilibri que generen conflictes en tots els nivells. El mutualisme s’anuncia com un concepte clau que adquireix el seu impuls en tractar les interaccions entre organismes a cada nivell d’integració com la força evolutiva més innovadora i potent. Una forma d’utilitzar les innovacions passades d’una manera novedosa i fàcil, potenciant ambdós, la naturalesa conservadora de la vida i la seva predilecció per accelerar la diversificació i la complexitat des de formes de vida senzilles anteriors. Aquest banc entrelligat està organitzat jeràrquicament per motius històrics i tendeix a la binarització i a l’explotació mútua. L’infinitat de les formes més belles es creen sota la influència de la manipulació de la informació en tots els suports disponibles, des de la senyalització química fins a la veu humana. Per tant, la informació, més que els recursos, té el paper més important en la comprensió dels resultats evolutius. Els recursos simplement fan que l’evolució s’activi, però el joc de la informació la fa lliscar al llarg d’un camí més comprensible., In this essay I gather and present unitarian views of sex and life itself as a way to live together in our oxidative planet, in which dynamic states of equilibrium lead to conflict at every level. Mutualism is heralded as a key concept, which gains momentum as the most powerful innovative evolutionary force in interactions among organisms at all levels. It is a way to use past innovations in a new and easy way, reinforcing both the conservative nature of life and its proneness to accelerate diversification and complexity from earlier simple life forms. This hierarchically entangled bank is organized by historical conservatism and tends towards dualism and mutual exploitation. Endless forms most beautiful are created under the influence of information manipulation in every available medium, from chemical signalling to the human voice. Thus, information rather than resources plays the most important role in the understanding of evolutionary outcomes. Resources simply activate evolution, but the interplay of information makes it slide down a more understandable path.

El criterio fundamental para considerar que una especie es alóctona en el territorio español se basa en la constatación de que la colonización no ha sido natural, sino de origen antrópico.

This work aims to characterise the current autotrophic compartment of the Albufera des Grau coastal lagoon (Menorca, Balearic Islands) and to assess the relationship between the submerged macrophytes and the limnological parameters of the lagoon. During the study period the submerged vegetation was dominated by the macrophyte Ruppia cirrhosa, which formed dense extensive meadows covering 79% of the surface. Another macrophyte species, Potamogeton pectinatus, was also observed but only forming small stands near the rushing streams. Macroalgae were only occasionally observed. Macrophyte biomass showed a clear seasonal trend, with maximum values in July. The biomass of R. cirrhosa achieved 1760 g DW m-2, the highest biomass ever reported for this species in the literature. The seasonal production-decomposition cycle of the macrophyte meadows appears to drive the nutrient dynamics and carbon fluxes in the lagoon. Despite the significant biomass accumulation and the absence of a washout of nutrients and organic matter to the sea, the lagoon did not experience a dystrophic collapse. These results indicate that internal metabolism is more important than exchange processes in the lagoon., El presente estudio pretende caracterizar el componente autotrófico de la laguna litoral de s’Albufera des Grau (Menorca, Islas Baleares) y determinar la relación entre los macrófitos acuáticos y la dinámica de los principales parámetros limnológicos del sistema. Durante el periodo estudiado, la vegetación sumergida estuvo dominada por el macrófito Ruppia cirrhosa, que formaba extensas praderas en toda la laguna. También se observó otra especie de macrófito, Potamogeton pectinatus, pero sólo formando pequeñas formaciones cerca de la entrada de los torrentes a la laguna. La biomasa de macrófitos mostró un claro ciclo estacional, con los valores máximos centrados en verano. La biomasa de R. cirrhosa alcanzó 1760 g DW m-2, que supone el valor más alto de biomasa descrito para esta especie en la literatura. El ciclo estacional de producción-descomposición de las praderas de macrófitos parece ser el responsable de la dinámica de nutrientes y de los flujos de carbono en la laguna. A pesar de las elevadas biomasas acumuladas y de la ausencia de un lavado de nutrientes y materia orgánica hacia el mar, la laguna no mostró un colapso distrófico, sugiriendo la importancia del metabolismo interno de la laguna por encima de los procesos de intercambio con el mar.

It brings together the faculties of three universities of Catalan speech, the Universitat de Barcelona [University of Barcelona], the Universitat de les Illes Balears [Univesity of the Balearic Islands], and the Universitat de Castelló [University of Castelló], providing them a forum to discuss mutual concerns and ideas. Two specimens, a male and a preparatory female, were collected in August 1990 from the pleonal cavity of the lithodid crab Lithodes ferox (Filhol, 1885), an anomuran crab caught at 300 m depth from off Namibia. The more relevant characters are: anophtalmous; body smooth, gammarid-like, male smaller than female, urosomite 1 with a prepeduncular spine; telson broad, entire, unlobed and unarmed; short rostrum; accessory flagellum scale-like, calceoli absent; lower lip without inner lobes; coxa 4 posteriorly excavated; gnathopods basic, subequal, with numerous palmar spines; dactyls on P3-7 with specialized adhesive organs; coxal gill 7 present; uropods eusirid type, [ES] Se describe Domicola lithodesi, nuevo género y especie de anfípodo perteneciente a la familia Calliopiidae. Dos ejemplares anoftalmos, macho y hembra, fueron colectados en agosto de 1990 procedentes de la cavidad pleonal del cangrejo litódido Lithodes ferox (Filhol, 1885), capturado a unos 300 m de profundidad frente a las costas de Namibia. Los caracteres más relevantes son: anoftalmia; cuerpo liso, gammariforme, macho menor que la hembra, urosomito I con espina prepeduncular: telson grueso, entero, no bilobado e inerme: rostro breve: flagelo accesorio escamoso. vestigial, calcéolos ausentes; faltan los lóbulos internos del labio inferior; placa coxa1 4 excavada posteriormente: gnatópodos básicos, ovales subiguales, con numerosas espinas palmares: dáctilos 3-7 con órganos adherentes especializados: branquia coxal 7 presente: urópodos de tipo eusírido

Del resultat d'un mostreig destinat a conèixer el poblament de la fauna intersticial litoral per les costes de les Balears i part de la costa continental més propera, s'ha constatat l'extensió a les Illes dels elements faunístics propis de les aigües intersticials de la Mediterrània occidental. El mistacocàrid Derocheilocaris remanei Del. et Chap. s'ha trobat a l'illa de Mallorca, en una platja calcària de gra més aviat gruixut emplacada al sud-est de l'illa., A sampling period during 1986-88 in sandy beaches of the Balearic Islands coasts and part of the neighbouring continental (NE Spain) coast has revealed the continuity of distribution for some littoral interstitial species of the Western Mediterranean. The mystacocarid Derocheilocaris remanei Del. et Chap. is recorded for the first time in the islands, with a single population in a rather coarse calcareous sand beach in the southeast of Majorca.
