The aim of this study is to determine preschool teacher candidates' self-efficacy belief levels and their attitudes about computer-assisted instruction as well as to determine the relationship between those two notions. In this study the preferred method was the mixed method where both quantitative and qualitative data is used conjointly. The data in the quantitative dimension of the study were collected with "Preschool Teachers' Self-Efficacy Beliefs Scale" developed by Tepe and Demir (2011) and "Computer-Assisted Instruction Attitude Scale", developed by Arslan (2006).The data in the qualitative dimension of the study were collected through an interview form developed by the researchers. Quantitative data were analyzed by a statistics software program and qualitative data were construed by descriptive analysis. The population of the research consisted of teacher candidates who are studying in the Preschool Education departments of Fırat, Cumhuriyet, Amasya, Adıyaman, Ahi Evran, and Dicle Universities in the 2017-2018 academic year. In this context, assessments were one regarding several variable. Accordingly, female teacher candidates' selfefficacy levels, and their attitudes about computer-assisted instruction are determined to be higher, significant difference is ascertained in favor of teacher candidates who are in their senior years and who own their own personal computers. In addition, a low-level significant correlation in the positive direction was found between the teacher candidates' self-efficacy levels and their attitudes about computer-assisted instruction. The purpose of this study is to put forth how the preschool teacher candidates perceive the concept of democracy. Therefore, qualitative research method was adopted in this study. Within this scope, 163 students studying in Preschool Education Program in Anadolu University, who participated in the study voluntarily, were made to fill in the open ended questionnaire which would demonstrate what they associated the concept of democracy with and why they did this association and next, the data obtained from 125 of the questionnaires were assessed. As a result, teacher candidates' metaphors toward the concept of democracy were classified in nine different categories. The metaphors obtained were identified as; freedom, different opinions existing together, cooperation, having an essential importance, equity-justice, and capability to change based on initiative, impossibility aspect. The teacher candidates mostly formed metaphors in the equity-justice category. The mostly repeated metaphor appeared to be the balance metaphor. As a result of the research, it was found out that the teacher candidates didn't evaluate the concept of democracy in all aspects but focused mostly on the management aspect. Furthermore, although it was found out that they associated the concept of democracy with concepts as politics or governing of a country, they didn't associate it with the education processes. Qualified teacher training and teacher employment is an important issue that does not lose its update. Because the quality of teachers is important in the development and progress of an country. Teachers play an important role in the education of future generations. Therefore, teachers should be trained to provide qualified education with the necessary qualifications. The objective of the present research is to investigate the views of fourth grade university students studying Early Childhood Education Teacher in Agri Ibrahim Cecen University on the field examination. The research uses phenomenology design which is an oft-used design in qualitative research. The study group of the research consists of 80 students studying Early Childhood Education Teacher in Agri Ibrahim Cecen University. The study data were obtained through six open-end questions prepared by the researchers in order to explore views of the students on the field examination. The questions were analyzed through descriptive analysis and content analysis. The research showed that the early childhood teacher candidates acknowledged the necessity of a field examination but expressed not having enough knowledge to succeed in the examination. It was found that a great majority of the students were concerned about the examination which was to be implemented for the first time. Furthermore, the students did not approve pure theoretical nature of the examination. © 2019, Ankara University. All rights reserved.

Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının teknoloji kabul ve kullanım düzeyleri ile iletişim becerilerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında İstanbul ilindeki 6 üniversitenin (2 devlet, 4 özel üniversite) okul öncesi öğretmenliği lisans programında öğrenim gören 612 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Bilgi Formu, Öğretmen Adaylarının Teknoloji Kabul ve Kullanımları Ölçeği (ÖATKKÖ) ve Etkili İletişim Becerileri Ölçeği (EİBÖ)” kullanılmıştır. Öğretmen Adaylarının Teknoloji Kabul ve Kullanımları Ölçeği; performans beklentisi, çaba beklentisi, sosyal etki, kolaylaştırıcı durumlar, öz-yeterlik, kullanıma karşı tutum ve davranışsal niyet olmak üzere yedi alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Etkili İletişim Becerileri Ölçeği; egoyu geliştirici dil, etkin-katılımlı dinleme, kendini tanıma-açma, empati ve ben dili olmak üzere beş alt boyuttan oluşmaktadır. Araştırma için toplanan veriler SPSS 20 programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlar şöyledir: Okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının teknoloji kabul ve kullanım düzeyleri ile iletişim becerileri arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki saptanmıştır. Okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının teknoloji kabul ve kullanım düzeyleri ile iletişim becerileri, öğrenim görülen üniversite türü ve sınıf düzeyine göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılaşmaktadır. The main aim of this research is investigating of technology acceptance/use levels and communication skills of preschool teacher candidates. The research sample consists of 612 preschool teacher candidates studying in preschool teaching program of 6 university (2 public, 4 private university) in the academic year of 2016-2017 in Istanbul province. The relational screening model was used in the research. The data collection tools used in the research were Information Form, Technology Acceptance and Use Scale, Effective Communication Skills Scale. Technology Acceptance and Use Scale consists of seven factors: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, behavioral intention, self-efficacy, and attitude toward using. Effective Communication Skills Scale consists of five factors: ego supportive language, active-participative listening, self-recognition/self-disclosure, empathy and I-language. The data collected for the research were analyzed using SPSS 20 program. The results obtained from the research are as follows: There is a significant and positive relationship between the technology acceptance/use levels and communication skills of pre-school teacher candidates. The technology acceptance/use levels and communication skills of preschool teacher candidates significantly vary by the type of university they study in and grade level.

The main objective of this study is to examine the attitudes of preschool teacher candidates and teacher candidates in other branches towards scientific research in terms of some variables. Survey method was used. The study group consists of 547 teacher candidates studying in education faculty of a private university in the spring term of 2015-2016 in Istanbul province. Personal Information Form, Scale of Attitude towards Scientific Research were used as data collection tool. According to the results; Preschool teacher candidates’ levels of reluctance to help researchers and negative attitudes towards research are lower when compared to Turkish language teacher candidates. Preschool teacher candidates’ positive attitudes towards researchs and researchers are higher when compared to Turkish language teacher candidates. Guidence and psychological counselor candidates’ negative attitudes towards research are lower when compared to Turkish language teacher candidates. The levels of reluctance to help researchers of male teacher candidates are higher when compared to female teacher candidates. Negative attitudes towards research of the teacher candidates who do not take the course of scientific research methods are higher when compared to the teacher candidates who take the research methods course. The teacher candidates’ attitudes towards research do not vary by age, grade level and the academic success average.

This study aims to determine the opinions of preservice trainers studying at preschool education program and to collect their suggestions about “Community Service” course requirement practices. Nineteen third-year pre-service students studying at Ankara University Faculty of Educational Sciences Preschool Education Undergraduate Program participated in the study. The participants have developed projects in groups and carried these out for 8 weeks, 3 hours per week. At the end of the practice, the participants were given a course evaluation form with open-ended questions. The evaluation form consisted of questions about the contributions of the course to the students and the community, problems encountered and support received in addition to student recommendations and comments about the “Community Service” course. Student responses have been summarized and qualitatively analyzed by the descriptive analysis technique. The responses collected have been examined considering the contributions of the course, problems encountered, support received, recommendations and comments.

Bu çalışmanın amacı geleceğin öğretmenleri olacak okulöncesi öğretmen adaylarının demokrasi kavramını nasıl algıladıklarını ortaya koymaktır. Bu doğrultuda, araştırmada nitel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiştir. Bu kapsamda, araştırmaya katılan öğrencilere demokrasi kavramını neye benzettikleri ve bu benzetimi niçin yaptıklarını ortaya koyabilecekleri bir açık uçlu anket formu uygulanmıştır. Bu kapsamda, Anadolu Üniversitesi Okulöncesi Öğretmenliği Programında okuyan ve araştırmaya gönüllü katılan 166 öğrenciye ulaşılmış ve 125 öğrencinin anket verileri değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının demokrasi kavramına ilişkin metaforları dokuz farklı kategoride toplanmıştır. Elde edilen metaforlar; özgürlük, farklı düşüncelerin bir arada bulunması, işbirliği, yaşamsal önem taşıması, eşitlik-adalet, insiyatife bağlı değişebilme, imkansızlık yönü ile demokrasi olarak belirlenmiştir. Öğretmen adayları en fazla eşitlik- adalet kategorisinde metafor oluşturmuşlardır. En sık tekrarlanan metafor ise terazi metaforudur. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğretmen adaylarının demokrasi kavramını tüm boyutlarıyla ele almadıkları, en fazla yönetim boyutunda yoğunlaştıkları belirlenmiştir. Aynı zamanda öğretmen adaylarının demokrasi kavramını siyaset, ülke yönetimi gibi kavramlarla ilişkilendirmelerine karşın eğitim süreçleri ile ilişkilendirenlere rastlanmamıştır. Bu araştırma; okul öncesi eğitim kurumlarında çalışmakta olan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin kendilerine ve onların sınıflarında uygulama yapmakta olan üniversitenin okul öncesi anabilim dalına devam eden dördüncü sınıf okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarına göre; okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini hangi sıklıkta kullandıklarını ve bunların yararlılığı ile ilgili görüş ve inançlarını ortaya çıkarmak amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda, araştırmada 2001 yılında Washington Üniversitesi Aile Kliniği tarafından geliştirilmiş olan Türkiye'de Doğan ve Uzmen (2003) tarafından Türkçe'ye çevrilen Öğretmen Stratejileri Soru Formu (Teacher Strategies Questionnaire) kullanılmıştır. Ayrıca araştırma kapsamına alınan okulöncesi öğretmenleri ile okul öncesi öğretmen adayları hakkında bazı istatistiki bilgileri elde etmek amacı ile araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan bilgi formları kullanılmıştır.Araştırmanın örneklemini Bursa İli Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü'ne bağlı dokuz anaokulunda görev yapan 94 okul öncesi öğretmeni ile bu öğretmenlerin sınıflarında uygulama yapmakta olan Uludağ Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Oku löncesi Öğretmenliği Bölümü dördüncü sınıfa devam eden ve uygulama III dersini anaokullarında gerçekleştiren 92 okul öncesi öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır.Öğretmen Stratejileri Soru Formundan elde edilen verilerin çözümlenmesinde frekans, yüzde, aritmetik ortalama, korelasyon, Varyans analizi ve t-Testi kullanılmış ve elde edilen sonuçlar yorumlanmaya çalışılmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda; araştırma kapsamına alınan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin, sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma sıklığı ile bu stratejilerin yararlılığına olan inanç seviyeleri ve ana babalarla çalışma davranışlarının sıklığı arasındaki korelasyonun anlamlı olduğu görülürken, okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma sıklığı ile sınıfta davranış yönetimi konusunda kendilerine olan güvenleri arasındaki korelasyonun anlamlı olmadığı görülmüştür. Yine araştırma sonucunda; araştırma kapsamına alınan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma sıklığı ile meslekte çalışma süresi, sınıftaki eğitimci sayısı ve sınıftaki çocuk sayısı arasındaki korelasyonun anlamlı olmadığı görülmüştür. Bu bulguların yanı sıra, araştırma kapsamına alınan okul öncesi öğretmenlerinin sınıflarında kullandıkları sınıf yönetimi stratejileri kullanma sıklıkları arasında mezun olunan son öğretim kurumu bakımından da anlamlı bir fark olmadığı saptanmıştır.Yine araştırma sonucunda, araştırma kapsamına alınan okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının ileride sınıflarında kullanacaklarını düşündükleri sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma sıklığı ile bu stratejilerin yararlılığına olan inanç seviyeleri ve gözlemledikleri öğretmenlerin sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma sıklıkları arasındaki korelasyonun anlamlı olduğu görülürken, okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının ileride sınıflarında kullanacaklarını düşündükleri sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma sıklığı ile sınıfta davranış yönetimi konusunda kendilerine olan güvenleri ve akademik başarı ortalamaları arasındaki korelasyonun anlamlı olmadığı görülmektedir. Bu bulguların yanı sıra, araştırma kapsamına alınan okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının ileride sınıflarında kullanacaklarını düşündükleri sınıf yönetimi stratejileri kullanma sıklıkları arasında mezun olunan lise türü bakımından da anlamlı bir fark olmadığını belirlenmiştir.Ayrıca, araştırma kapsamına alınan okulöncesi öğretmenlerinin sınıf yönetimi stratejilerini kullanma sıklıklarının öğretmen ve öğretmen adaylarının görüşleri arasında anlamlı bir fark olup olmadığı bağımsız t-Testi ile karşılaştırılmaya çalışılmış ve öğretmenler ile öğretmen adaylarının görüşleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olmadığı görülmüştür. Bu sonuç, okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının sınıflarında uygulama yaptıkları okul öncesi öğretmenlerini iyi gözlemlediklerini ve objektif olarak değerlendirdiklerini göstermektedir. The present study was carried out to reveal the thoughts and beliefs of preschool teachers who work at the establishments where preschool education is provided, and of preschool teacher practitioners who were fourth grade students enrolled in the preschool teacher education department at university. Their views and beliefs related to how often they use classroom management strategies and to what extent these are successful were evaluated. In accordance with this purpose, the Teacher Strategies Questionnaire, which was developed by the Family Clinic of Washington University in 2001, and was translated into Turkish in Turkey by Dogan and Uzmen (2003) was used in the study. In addition, in order to obtain some statistical information about the preschool teachers and preschool teacher candidates that were comprised in the study, information forms, which were prepared by the researcher, were used.The subjects of the study were 94 preschool teachers who are working in nine schools of Ministry of National Education at the province of Bursa, and 92 preschool teacher candidates who were practicing the practice III course at the schools, and were fourth grade students enrolled in the Department of Preschool Education in the Faculty of Education at Uludag University.In the analysis of the data conducted by the Teacher Strategies Questionnaire frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, correlation, analysis of variance, and t-Test were applied, and results were tried to be interpreted. As a result of the study, while a significant correlation was detected between the frequency of classroom management strategies that preschool teachers use and their level of belief that the strategies will be useful, and the frequency of cooperation with parents; there wasn't any significant correlation between the frequency of the classroom management strategies that the preschool teachers use and their self-confidence related to the method of action in the classroom. Additionally, it was observed that there wasn't a significant correlation between the frequency of classroom management strategies that the preschool teachers, who were comprised in the study, use and their time of work in the profession, the number of educators and the number of children in the classroom. Beside these findings, it was determined that there wasn't a significant difference between the frequency of classroom management strategies that the preschool teachers, who were comprised in the study, use in their classes and the last educational institution that they graduated. Again, in the end of the study it was observed that while there was a significant correlation between the frequency of classroom management strategies that preschool teacher candidates think they will use in the future, and their level of belief that these strategies will be useful and the frequency of the classroom management strategies used by the teachers they observed; there wasn't any significant correlation between the frequency of classroom management strategies that the preschool teacher candidates think they will use in their classes in the future and the self-confidence related to the method of action in the classroom and their grades they received at school. Beside these findings, it was determined that there wasn't a significant difference between the frequency of classroom management strategies that the preschool teacher candidates, who were comprised in the study, think they will use in the future and the high school type that they graduated.Additionally, it was observed whether there was a significant difference between the frequencies of classroom management strategies used by the preschool teachers and teacher candidates that were comprised in the study using independent t-Test, and as a result of the comparison it was determined that there wasn't a significant difference between the views of the teachers and teacher candidates. Results suggest that preschool teacher candidates very carefully observe and objectively evaluate the preschool teachers in whose classes they practice the profession.
