Abstract

Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETS) consists of a collection of mobile nodes without having a central coordination. In MANET, node mobility and dynamic topology play an important role in the performance. MANET provide a solution for network connection at anywhere and at any time. The major features of MANET are quick set up, self organization and self maintenance. Routing is a major challenge in MANET due to it's dynamic topology and high mobility. Several routing algorithms have been developed for routing. This paper studies the AODV protocol and how AODV is performed under multiple connections in the network. Several issues have been identified. The bandwidth is recognized as the prominent factor reducing the performance of the network. Abstract

Mobile Ad-hoc Networks (MANETS) is a collection of wireless nodes without any infrastructure support. The nodes in MANET can act as either router or source and the control of the network is distributed among nodes. The nodes in MANETS are highly mobile and it maintains dynamic interconnection between those mobile nodes. MANTEs have been considered as isolated stand-alone network. This can turn the dream of networking "at any time and at any where" into reality. The main purpose of this paper is to study the issues in route discovery process in AODV protocol for MANET. Flooding of route request message imposes major concern in route establishment. This paper suggests a new approach to reduce the routing overhead during the route discovery phase. Abstract

Abandoned object/luggage is a major threat in all public scenes like hospitals, railway stations, airports and shopping malls. Abandoned luggage may contain explosive, biological warfare or smuggled goods. Abandoned object detection is the process to identify the unattended strange object within a specific time. It is also crucial to identify the person who has abandoned the luggage in the scene. Video surveillance is one of the essential techniques for automatic video analysis to extract crucial information or relevant scenes. The main objectives of this work is the automatic detection of abandoned objects and related persons in public areas like airports, railway stations, shopping malls etc. Video enhancement techniques like residual dense networks are adopted to improve the quality of the image before applying it to detect the abandoned objects and related humans. The scenario of abandoned objects and related humans are identified through distance differencing methods. Once the scene is identified, the method is capable of producing alert messages or alarms in real-time through automated means. A fuzzy rule based threat assessment module is also incorporated in this work which reduces the false alarm rate. The related person is identified through reconstruction of the face through super-resolution techniques. Experiments are found to be appreciable in terms of the metrics in video enhancement, detection, fuzzification and face super-resolution.

Abstract

A m o b i l e ad hoc network is a wireless commu- nication network, where communicating nodes are not within direct transmission range of each other. Since the radio links between t h e nodes b r e a k frequently, routing is a key issue in MANETs. The wide distribution of nodes makes M A N E T s vulnerable to malicious attacks. Hence huge researches are going on in this area. Efficient routing always c o n f l i c t s with secure packet transmission. Both these issues are highly challenging in MANETs and should go by hand. The paper presents a technique to address this tradeoff. Malicious n od es interrupt t h e communication by dropping all the data packets. The paper is an Acknowledgment b a s e d Secure Routing Scheme in Malicious MANETs. According to this mechanism, the packet delivery is ensured even in the presence of malicious nodes. The main objective of this scheme is to achieve reliable data delivery in a malicious network. Performance of the proposed s y s t e m is compared with the existing routing algorithm AODV using Network Simulator. Abstract

MANET (Mobile Ad Hoc Network) consists of mobile nodes having no fixed infrastructure. These networks have dynamic topology and all the nodes are in general autonomous. Normally network comprises of selfish individuals that are not willing to forward the packets but wants to forward their own messages. In ad hoc network throughput increases when all available nodes are used for routing and forwarding. So instead of avoiding selfish nodes from the routing path the network can effectively utilize all the existing nodes. In this research, selfishness of the nodes is studied and better security methods are proposed to ensure reliable delivery of messages. Simulation results shows that the proposed system ensures less message overhead, memory and time. Also it tries to improve the packet delivery ratio.
