Socialization were carried out on 2 November 2023 by Zoom platform. This event was organized by Seine Indonesia in collaboration with The FLASH Initiative. The activity was attended by 32 participants from 4 cities in Indonesia, namely Makassar, Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung. The first stage of this activity analysed the needs of PKM partners. After discussions and establishing a mission and vision, it was found that there was a need to provide financial literacy materials to the communities in several cities in Indonesia. Consequently, a session on financial literacy socialization was held, covering the importance of financial literacy, the benefits of financial planning, how to plan finances, and investment instruments in Indonesia. This socialization also aimed to protect the public from fraudulent investments. The results of this activity show that the level of financial literacy among Millennial and Z Generations is quite high. This is based on the investment activities they carry out and also financial behaviour such as recording expenses and income. From this financial literacy activity, it can be concluded that education about finance is very important to improve understanding and management of individual finances. Some suggestions that can be given include increasing awareness, giving financial literacy in elementary school, training for the societies, involvement of the private sector, and increasing government support in financial literacy., Kegiatan sosialisasi dilaksanakan pada tanggal 2 November 2023 secara daring melalui platform Zoom. Kegiatan ini diadakan oleh Seine Indonesia bekerja sama dengan The FLASH Initiative. Kegiatan ini dihadiri oleh 32 peserta yang berasal dari 4 kota di Indonesia, yaitu Makassar, Jakarta, Surabaya, dan Bandung. Tahap pertama kegiatan ini adalah menganalisis kebutuhan mitra PKM. Setelah diskusi dan visi misi yang ditetapkan, ditemukan kebutuhan untuk memberikan materi mengenai literasi keuangan kepada masyarakat di beberapa kota di Indonesia. Kemudian, dilaksanakan sesi sosialisasi literasi keuangan yang meliputi penjelasan pentingnya literasi keuangan, manfaat perencanaan keuangan, cara merencanakan keuangan, dan instrumen investasi di Indonesia. Sosialisasi ini juga bertujuan untuk melindungi masyarakat dari investasi bodong. Dari kegiatan literasi keuangan ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendidikan mengenai keuangan sangat penting untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan pengelolaan keuangan individu. Beberapa saran yang dapat diberikan antara lain meningkatkan kesadaran, pendidikan sejak dini, pelatihan yang dapat diakses oleh semua golongan, keterlibatan sektor swasta, dan peningkatan dukungan pemerintah.

The social and economic impacts of COVID-19 have been devastating for many, and collectively young people generally fared worse than older adults, with the impact amongst young people also being highly uneven. Most studies on this topic focus on Global North contexts, with experiences in the Global South being less well understood. Focusing on young people in Nepal and Indonesia who were especially exposed to the fallout from the pandemic (in part due to their occupations), this paper analyzes over 1400 weekly diary entries from 100 respondents written across four months in the first half of 2021. Participants recall increasingly precarious individual and family situations due to pandemic-related livelihood upheavals and insufficient access to social protection. Amongst diverse ‘coping strategies’, many turned to debt to smooth fluctuating incomes–leading to both financial and social obligations and forcing sometimes life-altering decisions such as leaving education and moving into risky work. Spiralling indebtedness may have consequences for livelihoods across young people’s life-courses; with futures mortgaged to survive precarity at the peak of the Delta wave of COVID-19. Looking ahead, policy makers should reconfigure disaster responses and social protection with a youth-lens to ensure a robust, fair and sustainable recovery from future crises, mitigating inter-generational scarring effects.

Waardenburg syndrome (WS) is a rare genetical disorder, characterized with pigmentary abnormalities of the eyes, skin, hair, dystopia canthorum, and sensorineural deafness. In Majene, West Sulawesi, 12 members of a 4-generation family presented manifestations of WS. We examined the presence of mutations in 5 family members with type 1 WS and the other 5 normal phenotype family members to identify mutations of PAX3 and MITF genes. Ophthalmic examination and peripheral blood test were done. Conventional polymerase chain reaction and direct Sanger sequencing were then performed to detect the mutation. 26 mutations of PAX3 gene were only identified in patients with major and minor criteria, including 7 missense mutations (substitutions) and 2 insertions in exons 1, 2, and 6, as well as 17 intronic changes in intron 8. No mutations were detected in MITF gene.

Literasi keuangan mempunyai peran penting dalam mendukung pembangunan keuangan di suatu negara terutama pada negara berkembang seperti Indonesia. Pelaksanaan sosialisasi materi literasi keuangan dilakukan dengan materi seperti pengertian dan tujuan dari literasi keuangan, bagaimana merencanakan keuangan, mengatur pengeluaran dan pendapatan serta contoh instrument investasi keuangan di masyarakat. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan pada tanggal 28 Mei 2023 dan dilakukan secara daring melalui aplikasi zoom. Pengabdian ini dihadiri oleh 42 peserta yang hadir dalam zoom ini, dimana latar belakang peserta terdiri dari mahasiswa, karyawan swasta, guru, dokter, dan lain-lain yang berasal dari 3 kota di Indonesia yaitu Jakarta, Makassar, dan Surabaya. Tujuan ini pengabdian ini  untuk mendukung kebijakan pemerintah mengenai peningkatan literasi inklusi keuangan termasuk meningkatkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang keuangan pribadi, termasuk pengelolaan hutang, perencanaan keuangan, dan investasi. &nbsp
