It is shown that standard quantum teleportation (SQT) with multi-qubit resource result in fidelity $(2+C)/3$ where $C$ is concurrence of the resource in bipartite entanglement between qubit going to receiver and rest of the qubits. For perfect SQT, obviously, $C=1$. For a general 3-qubit resource, we find conditions for getting perfect SQT for state expressed in any basis states. Zha et al. [Mod. Phys. Lett. B 22, 2523-2528 (2008)], who studied perfect SQT using 3-qubit resource, reported conditions for perfect SQT for only those resource states which are given in the 3-qubit canonical form of Acin representation. We show that there is an alternative easily derivable representation which gives more generalized results. We propose a scheme of repeated generalized Bell state measurement (GBSM) for probabilistic quantum teleportation of single qubit state of a particle (say, 0) using 3-qubit non-maximally entangled (NME) GHZ state as a quantum channel. Alice keeps two qubits (say, 1 and 2) of the 3-qubit resource and the third qubit (say, 3) goes to Bob. Initially, Alice performs GBSM on qubits 0 and 1 which may lead to either success or failure. On obtaining success, Alice performs projective measurement on qubit 2 in the eigen basis of $\sigma_{x}$. Both these measurement outcomes are communicated to Bob classically, which helps him to perform a suitable unitary transformation on qubit 3 to recover the information state. On the other hand, if failure is obtained, the next attempt of GBSM is performed on qubits 0 and 2. This process of repeating GBSM on alternate pair of qubits may continue until perfect teleportation with unit fidelity is achieved. We have obtained analytical expressions for success probability up to three repetitions of GBSM. The success probability is shown to be a polynomial function of bipartite concurrence of the NME resource. The variation of success probability with the bipartite concurrence has been plotted which shows the convergence of success probability to unity with GBSM repetitions., Comment: 11 pages, 5figures

We consider the problem of bi-directional controlled quantum teleportation of information encoded in phase opposite coherent state among two distant partners Alice and Bob, with the consent of controller, Charlie. We use five-mode cluster-type entangled coherent state as the quantum resource to achieve this task. The scheme uses linear optical devices such as beam splitter, phase shifters, and photon counters. We have shown that for moderately large coherent amplitude, near-perfect bi-directional controlled teleportation can be obtained in terms of the average fidelity of teleportation., Comment: 20 pages, 4 figures, 1 table

We propose here a new idea for quantum teleportation of superposed coherent state which is not only almost perfect, in principle, but also feasible experimentally. We use entangled resource $\sim |\alpha,\frac{\alpha}{\sqrt{2}}\rangle-|-\alpha,-\frac{\alpha}{\sqrt{2}}\rangle$ in contrast with the usual $\sim |\alpha,\alpha\rangle-|-\alpha,-\alpha \rangle$ (both states unnormalized). Bob receives state which is then superposition of the states $|\pm \frac{\alpha}{\sqrt{2}}\rangle$ . Bob mixes these with even or odd coherent states involving superposition of states $|\pm \frac{\alpha}{\sqrt{2}}\rangle$ to obtain a two-mode state which is one of $\sim |I,0\rangle \pm |0,I\rangle$, $|I\rangle$ being the information state. Bob then obtains the teleported information by using interaction of one of these modes in two cavities with resonant two-level atoms. This scheme results in average fidelity of $\simeq 0.95$ for $|\alpha|^2 \simeq 10$, which increases with $|\alpha|^2$ and tends to 1 asymptotically, varying as $1-\frac{\pi^2}{16|\alpha|^2}+\frac{\pi^2(\pi^2+8)}{256|\alpha|^4}$ for large values of $|\alpha|^2$., Comment: 12 pages, 5 figures

Bugs are prevalent in software development. To improve software quality, bugs are filed using a bug tracking system. Properties of a reported bug would consist of a headline, description, project, product, component that is affected by the bug and the severity of the bug. Duplicate bugs rate (% of duplicate bugs) are in the range from single digit (1 to 9%) to double digits (40%) based on the product maturity , size of the code and number of engineers working on the project. Duplicate bugs range are between 9% to 39% in some of the open source projects like Eclipse, Firefox etc. Detection of duplicity deals with identifying whether any two bugs convey the same meaning. This detection of duplicates helps in de-duplication. Detecting duplicate bugs help reduce triaging efforts and saves time for developers in fixing the issues. Traditional natural language processing techniques are less accurate in identifying similarity between sentences. Using the bug data present in a bug tracking system, various approaches were explored including several machine learning algorithms, to obtain a viable approach that can identify duplicate bugs, given a pair of sentences(i.e. the respective bug descriptions). This approach considers multiple sets of features viz. basic text statistical features, semantic features and contextual features. These features are extracted from the headline, description and component and are subsequently used to train a classification algorithm.

Controlled quantum teleportation of superposed coherent states using GHZ entangled 3-mode coherent states is studied. Proposed scheme can be implemented experimentally using linear optical components such as a symmetric lossless beam splitter, two phase-shifters and two photon counters. Fidelity is found close to unity for appreciable mean number of photons in coherent states and is 0.99 for mean photon number equal to two., Comment: A preliminary version was presented at National Laser Symposium-26 held at BARC, Mumbai, in December 2017

We propose a new scheme in which perfect transmission of 1-qubit information is achieved with high success using purposefully delayed sharing of non-maximally entangled 2-qubit resource and repeated generalized Bell-state measurements (GBSM). Alice possesses initially all qubits and she makes repeated GBSM on the pair of qubits, consisting of (1) the qubit of information state and (2) one of the two entangled resource qubits (taken alternately) until transmission with perfect fidelity is indicated. Alice then sends to Bob, the qubit not used in the last GBSM and also the result of this GBSM and Bob applies a suitable unitary transformation to replicate exactly the information state. We calculate the success probability up to 3rd repeated attempt of GBSM and plot it with concurrence of the entangled resource state. We also discuss the maximal average fidelity. We propose quantum-mechanical model of a beam splitter with second-order nonlinearity and show that non-classical features such as squeezing and sub-Poissonian photon statistics of optical fields can be generated in output fundamental and second harmonic modes when we mix coherent light beams via such a nonlinear beam splitter.

In this paper we extend our recent results for quantum teleportation of single qubit pure information state using non-maximally entangled pure state resource [Quantum Inf Process, 11 (2012) 1251] to the case of a general mixed information state and mixed Werner states resource. Fidelity is found dependent on information state in general. We minimize it over all possible information states and maximize it over possible unitary transformations which can be done by the receiver to obtain a value dependent on purity of information state and mixing parameter of Werner states. For pure information state, this value of fidelity is independent of information and for mixed information states it is less than unity even for perfect entangled resource. Polarization of light signifies transversal, anisotropic and asymmetrical statistical property of electromagnetic radiation about direction of propagation. Traditionally, optical-polarization is characterized by Stokes theory susceptible to be insufficient in assessing polarization structure of optical quantum fields and, also, does not decipher twin characteristic polarization parameters (ratio of real amplitudes and difference in phases). An alternative way, in spirit of classical description of optical-polarization, is introduced which can be generalized to deal higher-order polarization of quantum light, particularly, prepared in non-Guassian Schrodinger Cat or Cat-like states and entangled bi-modal coherent states. On account of pseudo mono-modal or multi-modal nature of such optical quantum field, higher-order polarization is seen to be highly sensitive to the basis of description., Comment: 15 pages, To appear in Annals of Physics

Classical definition of degree of polarization is expressed in quantum domain by replacing intensities through quantum mechanical average values of relevant number operators and is viewed as first generalization of Intensity. This definition assigns inaccurately the unpolarized status to some typical optical fields such as amplitude coherent phase randomized and hidden polarized, which are not truly unpolarized light. The apparent paradoxical trait is circumvented by proposing a new definition of degree of polarization in Quantum Optics through second generalization of Intensity. The correspondence of new degree of polarization to usual degree of polarization in Quantum Optics is established. It is seen that the two definitions disagree significantly for intense optical fields but coincides for weak light (thermal light) or for optical fields in which occupancy of photons in orthogonal mode is very feeble. Our proposed definition of degree of polarization, similar to other proposals in literature, reveals an interesting feature that states of polarization of optical quantum fields depend upon the average photons (intensity) present therein., Comment: 17 pages, Accepted in PRA

Recently, the authors [arXiv quant-ph 1209.3706] studied quantum discord for Werner mixed states based on the four entangled coherent states, which are used for quantum teleportation of single qubit information encoded in superposed coherent state and compared it with entanglement of formation. In the present paper, we consider two more general bipartite superposed coherent states and get two quasi-Werner states. We consider the problem of teleporting an unknown information state within a quantum network by a sender, say, Alice to any given receiver out of several receivers, say, Bob(1), Bob(2), ...., Bob(n). For this task, we suggest two schemes using (n+1)-partite GHZ state as a quantum channel. The first scheme involves C-NOT operations on qubit of Bobs with the control as qubit of Alice, while the second scheme involves measurements in the Hadamard basis by Bobs on their qubits. We have generalized both schemes for quantum teleportation of arbitrary m-qubit information state within the quantum network. Further, we have proposed two experimental schemes for the generation of (n+1)-partite GHZ state using interaction between highly detuned \Lambda-type three-level atoms and optical coherent field. Present work is an attempt to compare quantum discord and quantum entanglement of Werner states formed with the four bipartite entangled coherent states (ECS) used recently for quantum teleportation of a qubit encoded in superposed coherent state. Out of these, two based on maximally ECS are exactly similar to the perfect Werner state, while the rest two, based on non-maximally ECS, which are called quasi-Werner states behave in somewhat different ways and their quantum discord and entanglement depends on the coherent amplitude and the measurement basis., Comment: 16 Pages and 4 Figures

We investigate the quantum discord dynamics and inversion operator of a two-level atom initially in thermal equilibrium mixed state interacting with a cavity field prepared in a n-photon Fock state. We considered the Jaynes-Cummings model which is an exactly quantum mechanical model of interaction between two different quantum systems, an optical cavity in single mode n-photon Fock state and a two-level atom. The influence of interaction time and measurement basis used for calculating the conditional entropy is discussed on the evolution of the quantum discord and on its minimum. The evolution of mean value of inversion operator with interaction is also discussed. It is found that the quantum discord and inversion both shows oscillatory behaviour and also shows the phenomenon of beats with interaction time. For a given initial cavity photon Fock state the beat period of minimum quantum discord is one half of that for inversion operator. However, as the number of photons in cavity increases the frequency of oscillations of quantum discord and inversion increases., Comment: 13 pages and 3 figures

The schemes proposed by S. Bose et al [Phys. Rev. Lett. 83, 5158 (1999)] and others for long distance atomic teleportation using cavity decay, gives message state dependent fidelity on successful attempt and in case of failure message state destroys. We propose a different scheme for teleportation of an atomic state from one cavity to a distant cavity by reflecting optical-pulse modes of an entangled coherent state (ECS) from single atom-cavity systems and detecting whether light is on or off. Unit success with unit fidelity is obtained for large mean photon number (|{\alpha}|^2). For small |{\alpha}|^2, however, there is some probability of failure but message state does not destroy, and this allows us to achieve unit success in a few repeated attempts. Unlike previous schemes, our scheme also enjoys advantages of deterministic generation of ECS, robustness of ECS against de-coherence due to photon absorption, and it does not require many-stage cavity interactions and single photon detection ability., Comment: 12 Pages, 2 Figures and 1 Table

Superposition of optical coherent states $\left|\pm\alpha\right\rangle$, possessing opposite phases, play an important role as qubits in quantum information processing (QIP) tasks and are of fundamental importance in testing quantum mechanics. Passage of such superposition of coherent states (SCS) from a 50:50 beam splitter lead to generation of entangled coherent states. Recently, ququats and qutrits defined in four and three dimensional Hilbert space respectively, have attracted much attention as they offer advantage in secure quantum communication. However, practical utilization of these advantages essentially require physical realization of quantum optical ququats and qutrits. Here, we define four new multi-photonic states (MPS) with $4n +j$ (here, $j =0, 1, 2$ or $3$, and $n = 0, 1, ..., \infty$) numbers of photon and show how the SCS can be used to encode ququat using these MPS as basis vectors of a four dimensional Hilbert space. When these MPS fall upon a 50:50 beam splitter, the resulting states are bipartite four-component entangled coherent states (BFECS) equivalently representing the entangled ququats. We briefly discuss the photon statistical properties of such MPS and BFECS. We show that these MPS and BFECS can be synthesized using even coherent states as input to an interferometer. We give a simple linear optical protocol for almost perfect teleportation of a ququat encoded in SCS with the aid of BFECS as quantum channel. We also describe how these ququats can be used for realization of higher dimensional BB84 protocol in order to increase the security of quantum key distribution. We present a simple and precise protocol for standard quantum teleportation of N-qubit state, considering the most general resource q-channel and Bell states. We find condition on these states for perfect teleportation and give explicitly the unitary transformation required to be done by Bob for achieving perfect teleportation. We discuss connection of our simple theory with the complicated related work on this subject and with character matrix, transformation, judgment and kernel operators defined in this context. We also prove that the magic basis discussed by Hill and Wootters [Phys. Rev. Lett. 78 (1997) 5022] does not exist for entangled 2N-qubit states with N > 1 but magic partial bases, similar to those discussed recently by Prakash and Maurya [Optics Commun. 284 (2011) 5024] do exist. We give explicitly all magic partial bases for N = 2.

In this paper, we generalize the secure quantum information exchange (SQIE) protocol, originally proposed by the authors [J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 44 (2011) 115504] for secure exchange of one qubit information with each of Alice and Bob, to the case of secure exchange of quantum information of arbitrary qubits with Alice and Bob. We also discuss security of the original and generalized SQIE protocols with respect to the number of qubits with controller, Charlie.

We consider the problem of teleporting superposed coherent state using non-maximally entangled coherent state as quantum channel and study the effect of entanglement over quality of teleportation. We show that if maximally entangled coherent state (MECS) used by Van Enk and Hirota [Phys. Rev. A 64, 022313 (2001)] and by H Prakash et al. [Phys. Rev. A 75, 044305 (2007)] is replaced by a particular non-maximally entangled coherent state (NMECS), average fidelity of quantum teleportation increases appreciably at small coherent amplitudes. Since it is very challenging to produce superposed coherent states of large coherent amplitudes, the particular NMECS appear to be a good quantum channel for teleportation at small coherent amplitudes for practical implementation.
