In Pakistan, adult literacy programs are offered to enable learners to function effectively to attain individual, family, and social sustainability, but these programs are continuously reporting low participation. This study aimed to explore the reasons behind low participation, employing a descriptive phenomenological design to examine the challenges experienced by adult learners, literacy teachers, and administrators. Forty-five participants (30 learners, 10 teachers, and 5 administrators) were selected by using a purposive sampling technique. Data were gathered through focus group discussions and semi-structured interviews, and a thematic analysis was conducted. Numerous challenges were found, including less attractive, non-relevant literacy content, inappropriate presentation methods, lack of proper mechanisms for teachers' training, and learners' evaluation. Extending lactation length reduces the frequency of critical calving events for the cow and herewith reduces the frequency of periods with increased risk for health problems. Moreover, breeding is postponed until a moment later in lactation, which is associated with better conception rates and less days open after start of the breeding period in most studies. Potential risks of an extended lactation are that milk yield of cows at the end of the lactation may be too low which may lead to cows being overconditioned at the end of the extended lactation. Therefore, extending lactation length might not fit every cow. Individual cow characteristics like parity, milk yield level, or body condition determine the response of the cow to an extended lactation. These individual cow characteristics can be used in customized management strategies to optimize lactation length for individual cows. Customized lactation length for individual cows could limit the impact at herd level of disadvantages concerning milk losses and overconditioning and maintain benefits for improved cow health and fertility, reduced number of surplus calves and increased work satisfaction for the farmer. In conclusion, extending lactation length has interesting perspectives for health and fertility of high‐producing dairy cows, although questions remain concerning management approaches to support lactation persistency of cows with an extended lactation, and consequences for calf health and development. Transportation systems are a basis of disability-related activity involvement in society. In Tehran, the capital of Iran, a paratransit system for disabled people has been operating since 2013, but the market share is gradually losing for reasons unknown to practitioners. Although paratransit systems for people with disabilities exist in many cities, no comprehensive study has been completed to identify attitudinal and contextual barriers to the continuance intention to use the system, particularly in a low-income developing country. Thus, due to limitations faced by qualified experts in this field, the adoption of efficient transportation policy and engineering interventions is still limited. The Technology Continuance Theory (TCT) is employed in this study as a structural equation modeling framework to analyze and quantify relationships based on the data gathered by face-to-face interviews. The mediation/moderation analyses in this paper reveal that (i) stress, (ii) self-efficacy, (ii) social isolation, (iv) mode captivity, (v) experience of usage, and (vi) type of disability are of prime importance in disabled people's intention to reuse the paratransit system. Stress is examined through serial mediation analysis. The analysis reveals that stress due to the system's uncertain attributes significantly influences satisfaction. Self-efficacy and social isolation are presented for the moderation and moderated-mediation analyses. It is found that the urban mobility performance of the system is of more importance to disabled people with lower self-efficacy (high social isolation); however, their stress is not significantly reduced even by increasing the usefulness of the system. The mode captivity is also redefined in this context and entered as a moderator. It is found that, for captive riders, satisfaction does not have a dominating role in the intention to use the paratransit system, as the users are constrained by taking what is available or nothing. The usage experience is another moderator, and our analysis shows that attitude is a determinant of behavior for long-term users, while satisfaction with a transient effect is a dominating factor for short-term ones. Finally, the users are categorized by type of disability , and the moderation analysis shows that for people with physical disabilities, the system's performance is the most influential factor in their satisfaction, while for people with sensory disabilities, other factors related to amenity, safety, and support are also prominent. This paper ultimately presents explicit and thorough policy considerations and practical implications. In the rapidly evolving contemporary business landscape, the Industry 4.0 revolution has emerged as an immense and transformative force, fundamentally reshaping industries and presenting significant challenges to prevailing business models. To achieve this objective, we conducted a comprehensive exploration of real‐world instances where companies boldly embraced Industry 4.0 technologies, subjecting their specific practices and processes to thorough examination. This methodological approach yielded a wealth of invaluable insights into the practical implications of Industry 4.0 on organizational sustainability, effectively bridging the gap between theory and practice. This research underscores the urgent need to provide businesses and decision‐makers with insights of paramount significance. The findings of the study aim to serve as a guiding compass for organizations, offering clarity on potential benefits and challenges associated with Industry 4.0 adoption. Notably, within the scope study, the utilization of semi‐structured interview technique added a unique dimension, enabling in‐depth insights. Interviews were conducted with individuals from diverse nations across different continents, thoughtfully selected based on predefined criteria, setting this research apart in terms of both the sample's size and the remarkable diversity within the participant profile. The study of career development among unemployed people is vital for effective institutional responses. This integrative review based on Torraco's protocol fills a literature gap by synthesizing research on interventions for this population. Seven keywords, five databases, and six eligibility criteria were defined. Among 324 articles, 36 were reviewed. Findings highlight diverse counseling modalities, emphasizing group interventions and remote delivery. Tailored approaches, including length, frequency, and social‐emotional and career dimensions, are crucial. Practical recommendations emphasize comprehensive, psychological support, goal‐oriented counseling, and postintervention assistance. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) Excellence Model on education and its contribution to ensuring high-quality education equality. Design/Methodology/Approach: A systematic literature review was conducted based on data from three academic publishers (Taylor & Francis, Emerald, and Elsevier Science Direct). Of the 69 journal articles, 61 were published between 2003 and 2023 and documented the results of the EFQM quality tool, and 8 articles were removed. Findings: The study highlights the results of applying the EFQM Excellence Model in the educational sector. Based on the bibliographic review, the feasibility of using the model in primary, secondary, and tertiary education is identified. We examine the findings related to using the model to ensure equality in high-quality education and the challenges faced by educational systems, with the ultimate goal of meeting student expectations. Research limitations/Implications: An important limitation is that the data were only drawn from three major publishers and the authors did not have access to all the relevant databases, since the search for articles was carried out in English only. The search for articles was limited by the keywords, as the EFQM Excellence Model was originally designed for the private sector. Practical implications: The results and limitations recorded in the study and the presentation of the 88 articles motivate academic researchers to conduct further study and fill the gap left by the limited number of publications on the application of the EFQM Excellence Model in the educational sector. Originality/Value: The EFQM Excellence Model has not been widely implemented in the high-quality educational sector and the existing literature reviews are limited. This study addresses the challenge of counterfeit goods in sustainable supply chains and its impact on achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal of "ensuring sustainable consumption and production." By utilizing a combined methodology of qualitative data from in-depth interviews with industry experts, supply chain professionals, and technology specialists, along with quantitative data from literature and case studies, the research explores the applicability of blockchain technology in countering counterfeiting within supply chains. An implementation framework is developed, considering industry-specific barriers and mitigation measures. It investigates enablers, barriers, implementation strategies, and monitoring plans, focusing on stakeholder incentives. Additionally, a framework for blockchain-based traceability is presented, promoting visibility, authentication, and accountability to combat counterfeit goods in sustainable supply chains. The study provides valuable insights for securing supply chains, protecting consumers, and advancing industry sustainability within the manufacturing context. The present article uses the register of three metaphorical perspectives/syntagms (Violetta's vision & Janus' gaze & the happiness and dissatisfaction of the bartender violinist) used by Timothy Garton Ash (in Free World, America, Europe, and the Surprising Future of the West, 2004) and contextualized here as three symptomatic ways of reporting the Brexit phenomenon to the crisis in Ukraine. Thus, both concepts (Brexit - the crisis in Ukraine) will allow for positioning on a level of self-deduction, with prolonged consequences (Violetta - the rule of "and"), thus being considered either events that bear an extended comparison (the double look of Janus - the rule of "from... to"), or accepted with the meanings of maximum intensity realities, which, although co-engaged, dispute their priorities (either violinist or bartender - the "or" rule). Research on supervisory feedback has burgeoned over the past 20 years. We ask, what does it have to offer to management practitioners, and is this knowledge conveyed in a constructive way? To answer these questions, we conducted a systematic literature review of the practical implications contained in feedback studies. Based on our retained articles (N = 120) and using the W‐H questions as our guiding framework, we critically discuss: Why recommendations are offered, What recommendations are endorsed, When and Where the recommendations are presented as most applicable, to Whom those are addressed, and How they are framed by researchers. In so doing, we summarise the indications that scientific research has offered to practitioners; moreover, following the same framework and the insights collected via a follow‐up survey of academics (N = 61), we provide recommendations to researchers across the management and psychology disciplines on how to craft their practical implications sections in a way that may help bridge the gap between research and practice. The Human Resource Management (HRM) function is a critical one within the organization, having a significant impact on its success and competitiveness. However, often HRM practices are established only from one perspective, without considering other approaches that may reveal important practical implications. It is necessary to use a multi-perspective approach that includes different dimensions if we want to have a comprehensive understanding of the field. This article presents a holistic exploration of HRM by presenting twelve distinct perspectives that can be used in the analysis of various organizational phenomena, offering insights into strategic alignment of HR practices with company objectives, behavioural change, integration of new technologies, ethical and cross-cultural considerations, employee career management at every stage of life, legal compliance, economic evaluation, environmental sustainability, knowledge management, employee voice and employee well-being. Recommendations for practice have become increasingly common in educational psychology articles in recent decades, according to a review by Brady et al. (2023). At the same time, the proportion of experimental studies has decreased. This led Brady et al. to warn against under-supported recommendations for practice. Researchers who read their article might get the impression that evidence from experimental studies is the only acceptable basis for practice recommendations. In the current commentary, I argue that both experimental and nonexperimental designs can inform us to some degree about cause-effect relationships, and that even studies that hardly inform us about causal effects can have practical implications. Thus, in order to enhance the transfer from research to practice, I recommend that educational researchers talk about practical implications in their articles regardless of the design and analysis they used. At the same time, researchers should clearly and transparently communicate the limitations and assumptions of their findings and how they affect the practical implications. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of the European Foundation for Quality Management Excellence Model and Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma approaches in public organizations. Design/methodology/approach: A systematic literature review was conducted based on articles from three academic publishers (Emerald, Elsevier/Science Direct and Taylor & Francis). The 88 selected journal articles were published between 2004 and 2022 and documented the results of the quality tools. Findings: The effects of applying the models in the public sector are presented. From the literature review, specific findings were identified regarding the motivations of all areas of education and services and the challenges they face in applying the qualitative tool methodologies. The main topics discussed are the human factors involved in implementing quality tools. Research limitations/implications: An important limitation is that data were drawn from only three major journals and the authors did not always have access to all databases and peer-reviewed journals or to any review articles in languages other than English. Multiple keywords limited the article search, as qualitative tools have been widely used in the private sector but less so in the public sector. Practical implications: The results and limitations detailed in the study and presentation of the 88 articles will motivate academic researchers to further study the application of qualitative tools in the public sector and fill the knowledge gap caused by the limited publications on this topic. Originality/value: The European Foundation for Quality Management Excellence Model and the Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma approaches have not been widely implemented in the public sector, and literature reviews are limited despite the increasing trend of their use in the sector in recent years. Introduction: Pelvic floor disorder is a widespread chronic disease that confronts patients with a variety of physical and psychosocial challenges. An interprofessional team from a hospital region of eastern Switzerland created a specialized health service for this patient population and expressed the need for support by an APN to further develop interprofessional care. A retrospective look, 5 years after the role was implemented, reveals success factors, challenges and insights that can be utilized for similar and future projects. Method and Analysis: In 2018 and 2019, a stakeholder‐oriented, participatory evaluation research was conducted to shape the role of the APN in the field of pelvic floor disorders. Ten interviews with internal and external experts in the field of pelvic floor disorder were analysed by thematic qualitative text analysis according to Kuckartz. A comparison between the original and the current profile illustrates its further development. Internal controlling shows the workload and number of patient contacts over the years 2018 to 2023. From a management perspective, the organizational and professional policy challenges are highlighted. Results: In 2018, the APN's scope of practice was described in eight areas, which were assigned to four APN competencies: direct clinical practice, collaboration, counselling, and evidence‐based practice. In 2022, 1211 different patient cases were treated in 1956 APN consultations. 64% of patients were women with interstitial cystitis. The focus was on direct clinical practice along the entire treatment pathway. The APN is predominantly the first and ongoing point of contact and coordinator of interprofessional treatment. The APN focuses on counselling and educating patients and their relatives, in particular on self‐management, for example, on the use of aids and the importance of self‐care. The number and complexity of the diagnostic and treatment interventions carried out by the APN have increased and are supported by expanding and extending competencies. The difficulty of recruiting nurses with a Master's degree, the legally unclear competence profile of APNs and the lack of cost coverage for APN services posed challenges in the development of this patient‐centred care model and required innovative solutions. Discussion: The initially assumed scope of practice of the APN is still evident 5 years after implementation but is constantly evolving. Although delegated medical activities are carried out by the APN, the focus remains on the original nursing competences. The increase in the number of patients indicates the need for and successful establishment of the care model presented. Professional policy changes are urgently needed to enable the development of patient‐centred, innovative APN roles, both financially and legally. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

At present, emerging technologies, such as machine learning, deep learning, or various forms of artificial intelligence are penetrating different fields of education, including foreign language education (FLE). Moreover, the current young generation was born into the technological environment, and they perceive technologies as being an indispensable part of their everyday life. However, they mainly use technologies in their informal learning, but there is not much research into emerging technologies in FLE, namely in teaching and learning English as an applied language. Therefore, the purpose of this systematic review is to identify, bring together, compare and analyze all of the technologies that are currently efficiently employed in foreign language teaching and learning, and based on the findings of the detected experimental studies, we provide specific pedagogical implications on how to use these technologies in the acquisition of English as an applied language at the university level. The methodology followed the PRISMA guidelines for systematic reviews and meta-analyses. The results of the detected experimental studies revealed that there was a serious lack of the latest technologies, such as chatbots or virtual reality (VR) devices, that are being empirically employed in a foreign language (FL) education. Moreover, mobile apps are merely focused on the development of FL vocabulary. The findings also indicate that although the FL teachers might theoretically know about these latest technological devices, such as neural machine translation, they do not know how to practically implement them in their teaching process. Therefore, this research suggests that teachers must be trained and pedagogically guided on how to purposefully implement them in their FL classes to support traditional instruction in order to identify what skills or language structures could be developed through their use. A realist review is a theory-driven approach to synthesizing evidence based on the realist philosophy of science. Realist reviews are conducted to provide the policy and practice community with a rich, detailed, and practical understanding of complex social interventions that will likely be of much more use to them when planning and implementing programs. Robust realist reviews must balance philosophical engagement, methodological rigor, and relevance to practice. Nevertheless, they have been criticized for being more philosophically inclined and less methodologically robust, with findings that have little implication for practice. Using the philosophy/Epistemology→methodology→theory→practice concept flow, we report how we balanced philosophical principles and practical insights in a recently conducted realist review on participatory practices that impact the benefits of non-communicable disease research and interventions in low- and middle-income countries. If realist review reviews are not comprehensible enough for these practitioners, their utility and relevance may suffer from being limited to a specialist cohort of academics. We propose that realist review findings and outputs must be framed and communicated to meaningfully engage practitioners without undertaking translational efforts., (© The Author(s) 2024. Academic literature on Lean Manufacturing (LM) is widely available. However, due to its fragmentation, the contribution of LM from practical and academic perspectives is controversial. This paper establishes the practical implications of LM studies carried out worldwide and identifies novel research streams. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) of peer-reviewed journal articles was conducted. A total of 403 articles published in 62 journals during 2010–2019 were collected from four major management science publishers. An 'affinity diagram' was applied to organise the data into natural and logical themes. Conceptual frameworks concerning LM practical implications and future research agenda were formulated. Meaningful themes of LM practical implications and future research suggestions were revealed and classified into two categories. In category one pertaining to the internal nature of LM, themes related to the pre-implementation, implementation and post-implementation phases of LM were identified. In category two pertaining to the external nature of LM, themes related to the country in which the companies operate, the diverse managerial systems available, and the methodological research approach were identified. The main themes supported in the literature by most references were determined. Prejudice and discrimination have important effects on the well-being and quality of life of trans people. Hence, investigating with said population implies, in addition to actions to obtain relevant and truthful information, having the necessary actions to attend to their needs and peculiarities. These are populations that are difficult to access (hard-to-reach), stigmatized, in which there is no defined sampling frame, that have physical and mental health indicators lower than those of any other group with which we have worked and that, therefore, it is necessary to take extreme the precautions not to reproduce types of relationships that may be harmful or offensive. The purpose of the present article was to systematize part of our field experience with transgender people, so that it can be useful for those who study with this population. These recommendations aim to provide some conceptual, methodological and ethical guidelines, useful throughout the research process. In particular, we made a series of recommendations that cover from the moment of taking conceptual decisions about the design of the study, through contact with the organizations, until the completion of the field work and subsequent stage of dissemination of results. In particular, a series of recommendations are made regarding: specifying the definition of the group with which one works, recording the variety of gender identifications as people present them, using to sampling methods for hard-to-reach populations or hidden populations, deliver a retribution for the participation (consider participants as experts to be compensated for their work), including activists as experts in every stage of the study (study design, field work, data analysis and dissemination of results), piloting the instruments in specific population, preferably opt for group applications modality and continue with a debriefing, have specific assistance for participants during the application (special needs derived from their age, educational level, reduced mobility, among others), use non-stigmatizing and inclusive language, call together with trans organizations (in order to establish greater trust in the population), attend to a mobility of the population (so as not to replicate the sample in different places), carry out a committed listening and contemplate referral protocols (if necessary given the type of situations described by the participants and their current degree of elaboration), consider different trajectories of transition, conduct inter-analysis sessions and disseminate appropriately within the transgender population. These propositions are discussed in terms of their effects on trans communities, their usefulness and ethical scope, their articulation with the general requirements of all research, and their implications for activism. On the other hand, these recommendations can serve as criteria for evaluating the ethical dimension of research projects with trans people. It may therefore be important to project reviewers, editors, and reviewers of manuscripts submitted for publication. The perspective that we assume in this work is aligned with those called “evidence-based activism”, which implies articulating a variety of knowledge, scientifically accredited and of an “experiential” type, in order to explore situations in which the team members Research staff are part of networks that involve them personally in their study topics. It is precisely the relationship with groups that work for the rights of minorities, activists and members of these groups is essential, since they have knowledge acquired through their experience as part of discriminated groups and they can contribute to the mobilization of knowledge in the governance of health issues. Family resilience is a concept that has wide and deep roots, ranging from the development of the concept of individual resilience to the postulates of general systems theory, including family systems theory and related therapeutic models as well as studies on family stress and coping. Integration of these roots into a comprehensive theory remains incomplete. Consequently, numerous ambiguities in the conceptualization and operationalization of the concept of family resilience remain. This has important implications for both research and the application of the concept to practice. This article aims to contribute to the clarification and understanding of this evolving concept by reviewing the foundations upon which the concept of family resilience has emerged and has been developing. Our work connects family resilience to the concepts of individual resilience, as well as, community resilience, presenting key challenges but also possible solutions in operationalizing indicators of risk, protective factors, and good outcomes. This article discusses the influence of context and dominant social discourses in defining both risk exposure and family adaptation, highlighting community engagement as a core resilience resource. The article concludes by presenting the challenges that remain in the field of family resilience research, especially in light of the relevance of this concept to interventions and practice pertaining to child and youth care practice. The article explores the relationship between theoretical knowledge of the psychology of personality disorders and its practical application in the area of justice. There is agreement in the literature on the relationship between a diagnosis of personality disorder and the increased risk of aggressive or violent behaviour, as pointed out by both the research of clinicians and judiciary workers. Nevertheless, the issue of explaining and understanding the relationship between personality disorders and violence has not yet been resolved, due to conceptualisation, diagnostic, methodological, psychotherapeutic and resocialisation difficulties. These controversies stimulate reflection and an attempt to determine whether the relationship between personality disorders and aggression is the same in all types of personality disorders.
