In this paper, a bibliometric analysis is carried out with the intention of understanding the prevailing state of research about the adoption of sentiment analysis methods in organizations when making decisions. It is also a goal to comprehend which business sectors, and areas within the company, they are most applied, and to identify what future challenges that in this area may arise, as well as the main topics, authors, articles, countries, and universities most influential in the scientific literature. To this end, a total of 101 articles have been gathered from the Scopus and Clarivate Analytics Web of Science (WoS) databases, of which 85 were selected for analysis using the Bibliometrix tool. The increased use of renewable energy in electricity generation has not been sufficient to reduce the associated emissions. Therefore, a better understanding of the evolution of electricity consumption may be advisable to undertake suitable energy policies. This paper contributes to this understanding by analyzing the non-linear income and temperature effects on electricity demand in the residential sector in Andalusia (Spain). To this end, panel data Ordinary Least Squares and quantile regression analysis methods have been performed to provide a complete picture of the relationship between the studied variables. The results show evidence to support an inverted N shaped relationship, with respect to income, without reaching the upper threshold point. The results also show that electricity elasticity, with respect to income, tends to increase with residential electricity consumption. It is also observed that temperature values, increasing above 22ºC and temperatures decreasing below 15ºC, progressively increase residential electricity consumption, the elasticity with respect to temperatures being higher for municipalities with lower residential electricity consumption. Reinforcing energy efficiency measures in the municipalities with the highest electricity consumption is recommended.

Purpose – This paper aims to identify the drivers that explain loyalty behavior in cruise tourism with the aim of achieving a better understanding of repeat cruisers’ intentions to sail on the same ship or on another ship belonging to the same cruise line or cruise corporation. Design/methodology/approach – Based on over 150,000 online reviews about their satisfaction and experience posted by cruisers using so-called electronic Word of Mouth (e-WOM), the authors apply both a graphic and an econometric technique through input-output circular plots and discrete choice models. Findings – The main results show that cruisers’ behavior is influenced by multiple onboard attributes, such as the service crew, entertainment options, type of cabin, some characteristics of the ship (age, capacity) and the cruise line (Premium-Luxury versus mainstream), and, specifically, the quality and variety of the gastronomic experience. Practical implications – The results highlight that repeats cruisers are predominantly linked to a cruise company or a cruise corporation rather than a particular ship. This result provides information on the moderators that can influence the customers’ repetition behavior, which might be useful for planning revenue management and extending knowledge on hospitality loyalty in general and in the cruise industry in particular, specifically under the current uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Originality/value – The previous literature has essentially examined revisit intentions in the cruise market from a qualitative approach and the authors have found no study to date that has simultaneously addressed this issue in three dimensions, namely, ship, cruise line and cruise corporation. The research fills this gap by determining the reasons why passengers would repeat a cruise either on the same ship, with the same cruise line or the same cruise corporation based on previous experience.

University libraries are adapting to the new study, learning, and research needs of the university communities that they serve. In an environment of economic tweaking, a trend toward the performance of investments, the progressive digitization of resources and services, and easy access to information in digital format, universities are compelled to show that they are still cost-efficient for the institutions that they serve; in this case, the University. This paper will use a robust methodology based on multiple indicators and a broad database that takes into consideration other control variables of a socio-demographic, economic, and academic nature to analyze the impact that the library circulation service can have on student academic performance. Our results show that there is a clear positive relationship between the number of library loans that a student takes out and the various academic performance indicators used. Furthermore, the more intense the use that students make of the system, both in terms of time and renewals, the greater the academic success that they attain. Lastly, measures are proposed to exploit this positive synergy and realize university excellence.

La inclusión de la tecnología y las comunicaciones en la sociedad actual es un hecho que está cambiando el comportamiento de los individuos, afectando de manera significativa a las organizaciones, muchas de las cuales no se adaptan a este nuevo paradigma. Uno de los sectores que se encuentra rezagado es el olivarero, por ello será el foco principal del presente trabajo. Concretamente, se llevará a cabo la creación de una web para una empresa de compra y venta de aceitunas; Olivas Gourmet. Posteriormente, se analizará la interacción que han realizado los usuarios en la misma, obteniéndose unos resultados que resultan de interés.

En este trabajo vamos a estudiar la implantación de una página web por parte de una empresa de un tamaño pequeño, con todas las ventajas y desventajas que ello conlleva, en concreto en este caso veremos la empresa “Academia Kitu”. Además de analizar lo que supone para una empresa tener este tipo de presencia online, independistamente de cuál sea tu tamaño, también explicaremos el modo de realización de ésta a través de Drupal.

The EU has recently presented a strategic long-term vision for a climate-neutral economy by 2050, considering that climate change is a serious concern for Europeans. A great socio-economic transformation is necessary, affecting all economic sectors. On the one hand, the EU considers that is necessary to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, on the other hand, sectors need to adapt to a warming climate. Focusing on the tourism sector, and using panel data referring to 12 Spanish Mediterranean provinces and the 1999-2014 time period, this study tests the tourist stays and temperature effects on the hospitality sector electricity consumption, by estimating extended Energy Environmental Kuznets curves (E-EKC) for the sector. The results show that the E-EKC hypothesis is not supported. Instead, electricity consumption progressively increases as tourism grows. In addition, the results indicate that temperature variables have notable influence over the electricity use, with a positive influence of global warming on electricity consumption. Finally, results also show positive relationships between overnight stays in hotels with higher star ratings and electricity use, while no significant price effects are observed. Electricity saving measures and renewable electricity generation promotion are recommended, especially in the highest energy consuming establishments.

Este trabajo trata sobre la realización de una web con Drupal 7. A su vez, se ha implementado el módulo Ubercart para tener una tienda online completa y funcional. Además, se ha realizado un breve estudio sobre el comercio electrónico y las leyes existentes para poder operar con nuestra tienda. A destacar, incluimos el módulo de Google Analytics para poder tener un seguimiento sobre nuestra web y lo que realizan los usuarios en ella además de activar el módulo Paypal para que nos puedan realizar todo tipo de compras. Como conclusión principal, creemos que al ser la primera vez que se realiza un trabajo sobre una tienda online con Drupal, puede sentar las bases para futuras mejoras y actualizaciones del conocimiento adquirido.

The main purpose of this paper is to use the Spanish case, through an econometric analysis of 226 electoral polls, to explain why polls are making more mistakes in times of great socioeconomic slumps, political instability and the emergence of new political parties. In this context, it is the very instrument with which society tries to reduce the reigning uncertainty that, paradoxically, can ultimately drive uncertainty up. Our results show that the prediction error for the new emerging parties is significantly higher than for the traditional parties and this error is not sensitive to solutions for increasing the reliability of surveys, such as increasing sample size, transparency constantly conducting periodical surveys, the closeness of the approaching election or the survey mode that is used. It can be observed that pollsters do not want to make predictions that vary greatly from the average of the other polls. Finally, editorial bias appears to play a significant role, especially in the case of traditional parties., El principal objetivo de este artículo es explicar por qué las encuestas electorales cometen más errores en épocas de crisis económica, inestabilidad política y con partidos emergentes como Podemos y Ciudadanos. Para ello utilizamos una base de datos de 226 encuestas previas a las elecciones generales españolas de 2016. En este contexto, paradójicamente vemos como el instrumento que la sociedad utiliza para reducir su incertidumbre puede acabar aumentándola. Nuestros resultados muestran como el error de predicción de los nuevos partidos es significativamente mayor que los tradicionales e insensible a las soluciones clásicas para aumentar la precisión de las encuestas, como el tamaño de la muestra, el método de muestreo, la experiencia del encuestador, o la proximidad de la cita electoral. Además, se observa que las empresas que desarrollan las encuestas realizan de forma sistemática predicciones muy próximas a las que han realizado las encuestas recientes de sus competidores. Finalmente, el sesgo editorial parece ser una variable relevante, especialmente en lo relativo a las predicciones de los partidos tradicionales

El pasado año se presentó un proyecto de innovación docente financiado por el III Plan Propio de Docencia de la Universidad de Sevilla cuya descripción y resultados se muestran en este trabajo. El proyecto afecta a asignaturas cuyas materias se encuentran relacionadas con aplicaciones informáticas alojadas en servidores web, como el sistema de gestión de contenidos (CMS) Drupal, o el sistema de planificación de recursos de la empresa (ERP) FacturaScripts. En ambos casos el sistema se encuentra alojado en un servidor web y los usuarios acceden a ellos mediante navegadores de Internet. Aprovechando este esquema de funcionamiento, se ha proporcionado a cada uno de los alumnos participantes en este proyecto (unos 120 en total) un servidor profesional de acceso público, en el que tenían que realizar las tareas indicadas en clase. La corrección de dichas tareas se realiza accediendo a cada uno de esos servidores y comprobando el trabajo efectuado. Dado que la corrección personal de la tarea de cada día de clase requiere al menos 10 minutos por alumno, se han creado diversos programas php (uno por cada día de corrección) que comprueba la ejecución de determinados puntos relevantes para la consecución de la misma. El resultado es que los alumnos realizan un trabajo diario a lo largo de todo el curso que mejora el aprendizaje de estas materias (según sus propias apreciaciones recogidas en las encuestas).

La evolución de los sistemas de gestión en las últimas décadas ha influenciado a las empresas y a sus hábitos de trabajo. Esto ha llegado hasta a las PYMES y microempresas, que han tenido que adaptar la forma de gestionar su negocio para lograr su supervivencia en el mundo empresarial a pesar de que no todas poseen los recursos económicos necesarios para poder implantar un sistema de este tipo en sus empresas. Con este trabajo se pretende dar soluciones Opensource de fácil manejo e implementación para que puedan adaptarlas a sus negocios sin necesidad de tener que hacer un esfuerzo económico

El comercio electrónico es, en esta época de globalización, un tipo de comercio con gran crecimiento en los últimos años tras la aparición de internet, ya que permite enlazar y sincronizar los sistemas de información de las empresas con sus clientes, empleados y proveedores. Dentro de este tipo de comercio existe un sistema de comercialización de productos que se puede llevar a cabo sin una elevada inversión, sin necesidad de tener artículos en stock, sin compra mínima y posibilitando tener un catálogo amplio, llamado Dropshipping. Este sistema produce grandes ventajas, tanto a la hora de emprender un nuevo negocio como para los ya establecidos, pero si lo vamos perfeccionando y conseguimos trabajar con Dropshipping global, donde tendríamos bastantes proveedores, con un catálogo tan amplio que nos permita ser una referencia total y global de nuestros clientes, en el que se cumpla con exactitud los plazos de entrega y posibilite un precio que pueda competir con las grandes superficies, estaríamos ante el negocio del futuro. Hablamos de central de compras en que nuestros clientes pueden comprar gran variedad de artículos en diferentes proveedores al mejor precio y en un único pedido.

The EU is committed to a 40% reduction in their domestic greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. In order to reach this ambitious target, new measures affecting all economic sectors would be needed. This paper focuses on the tourism sector. Using econometric panel data techniques, the relationships between tourist overnight stays and the hospitality sector electricity consumption is studied for the Spanish provinces during the period 1999–2013. With this aim, an Energy-Tourism Kuznets Curve hypothesis is tested. The results show that the Energy-Tourism Kuznets Curve hypothesis is not supported. An increasing positive relationship between the hospitality sector electricity consumption and overnight stays is observed. Results also show that the hospitality sector electricity consumption elasticity values, with respect to tourist overnight stays, differ among the provinces, the values being within a range of 0.1–0.5 during the period. The highest values are observed for the Balearic Islands, the Canary Islands, Gerona, Tarragona and Malaga. Energy efficiency measures, the adoption of renewable energy systems and the development of energy management capabilities are recommended.

The residential energy sector is crucial to achieving CO2 emission reductions as it has an important energy-saving potential, and its environmental controls are difficult to displace to other countries. Using the latest available data, this short paper provides a concise analysis of residential energy consumption trends for the period 1993–2013 in a double perspective, by main world regions and by per capita gross national income levels in 2013. Residential energy has been divided into three types: non-renewable, direct renewable and indirect renewable. Annual rates of change, energy intensity, energy in per capita terms and some ratios have been analyzed. Notable regional differences and trends were observed in the studied variables. Therefore, different energy policies are recommended for the regions. Eastern and Southern Asian countries, the EU15 and other developed countries, are the regions which should make the greatest effort to reduce residential energy consumption. The promotion of direct and indirect renewable energies is recommended.

Wind energy is one of the renewable energies which have less adverse environmental impact and is becoming economically affordable long before several other renewable energies. Over recent years, substantial additions have been noted in wind energy capacity, although many differences can be observed between countries. Using the latest available data, this paper provides a concise analysis of wind energy and electricity consumption trends for the period 1990–2014 in a dual perspective, by principal world regions and by per capita gross national income levels in 2014. Electricity consumption has been divided into three types of energy: non-renewable, renewable excluding wind and wind energy. Annual rates of change, energy intensity, energy in per capita terms and some ratios have been analyzed. Notable regional differences and trends are observed in the studied variables. The first 15 European Union countries, other developed countries (ODC) and East Asian (EAS) and South Asian countries (SAS) are the regions which currently have the highest wind capacity.

Los sistemas de Planificación de Recursos Empresariales, ERP, han ido adquiriendo una relevancia creciente en los últimos años hasta el punto en que, actualmente, estos softwares de gestión ya se han establecido en grandes organizaciones y se están adentrando en el mercado de las Pymes. El presente estudio, trata de iniciarnos en la comprensión de estos sistemas y sus tendencias. Para ellos nos hemos servido de un ERP con gran proyección de futuro que se amolda y adapta a las nuevas exigencias y dinámicas del panorama económico actual, FacturaScripts. En este ensayo, encontraremos una guía, orientada a organizaciones de tamaño reducido, en la que trataremos de esclarecer el proceso de implementación de FacturaScripts y su uso en la contabilidad de una empresa.

This paper presents an overview of the two recent parliamentary elections in Spain, held in December 2015 and June 2016. It also analyzes how the economic crisis, austerity policies and corruption have affected the results of both of these electoral processes. The economic situation has put the traditional Spanish two-party system at risk with the emergence of two new parties, Podemos and Ciudadanos

The Covenant of Mayors (CM) is an initiative by which towns, cities and regions voluntarily commit to reduce their CO2 emissions beyond the European Union climate targets, through policies promoting energy saving and renewable energy. The aim of this paper is to analyze whether joining the CM is reducing municipalities’ electricity consumption and therefore their emissions. This analysis is made for municipalities in Andalusia, the region of Spain with more signatories. For this purpose, the evolution of total, household and public administration electricity consumption from 2001 to 2012 is analyzed by using panel data econometric techniques. Obtained results show that the CM is having a positive effect on the electricity consumption reductions, since the municipalities have greater rates of reduction of electricity consumption after signing the CM. Therefore, it may be considered that it may be appropriate to promote policies that incentivize the municipalities to join the CM and to develop their action plans, as this can reduce their electrical consumption.

This paper reviews the way that air, rail, and toll motorways infrastructure have evolved in Spain since the beginning of the century, when all these types of transport have been subjected to a far-reaching economic crisis. Investments made in infrastructure during this time will also be analyzed in relative terms and compared to other countries in the European Union, as will the various policies applied to each of these modes of transport. The methodology applied in this paper is of the bottom-up type, in the sense that a thorough univariate–uniequational analysis is performed before proceeding to more complex, multivariate models. We found that the policy to drop fare prices for the HSR (AVE) has had an almost 14% positive effect on the number of passengers per kilometer for HS and long-distance trains, but it has also had a negative effect of as much as 16.7% on the number of domestic air passengers. The increase in airport taxes has not affected any of the endogenous variables, or major public investments in air terminals and new HSR lines, except for the Madrid–Barcelona AVE and Barcelona's T1. Domestic air transport has been seen to be more sensitive to the economic cycle than the other modes of transport. This paper contains a set of results that justify the need to use full and accurate “economic modeling” in the planning and management of what is generally very costly transport infrastructure.

The main objective of this paper is to estimate the impact that the expansion of the HSR network has had on air transport in Spain by estimating the substitution effect between the two types of transportation. This paper considers the way that the HSR network has grown and how this growth could have affected air transport dynamically. The findings show that a dynamic vision of this substitution rate should be adopted, as opposed to assuming that the rate is constant, as has been the case in previous references. Although the rate varies significantly over the study period, only 13.9% of HSR passenger demand was found to have come from air travel during the 1999–2012 period, meaning that HSR and airlines would seem to offer more independent services than at first it might appear. This confirms the hypothesis as to the HSR’s great ability to generate its own demand. The substitution rate between the two transport modes seems to be closely linked to the way that any new stations are incorporated into the HSR network. Convergence between the seasonality of HSR and air transport has also been examined. The results show that it is difficult to talk of a real HSR transport network in Spain.
