Purpose: To evaluate and compare the objective refractions obtained by autorefraction and aberrometry under different lighting conditions with an isofocal intraocular lens (Isopure, BVI medical, Liége, Belgium) compared to a monofocal control lens (Micropure, BVI medical, Liége, Belgium) with the same platform and material. Methods: Prospective, comparative and randomized study on patients undergoing cataract surgery and bilateral isofocal or monofocal IOL implantation. A total of 44 subjects were randomly assigned to either the isofocal group (n = 22) or the Micropure (n = 22). Manifest refraction (MR) was always performed under the same lighting conditions for all the patients. For objective refraction the autorefractor KR8800 and the aberrometer OPD-Scan III (Nidek Inc., Tokyo, Japan.) were used. For each eye included in the study, six result sets were collected: MR, AR (autorefraction measured with the autorefractor), WF-P and WF-M (Zernike-coefficients-based objective refraction, photopic and mesopic pupil size), OPD-C and OPD-M (autorefraction measured with the aberrometer in photopic and mesopic conditions). Results The mean sphere for MR was 0.03 ± 0.32D for the Isopure group and 0.24 ± 0.22D for the monofocal group (p = 0.013). For the Isopure group, Friedman analysis showed statistically significant differences for sphere measured with WF-P (p = 0.035), WF-M (p = 0.018) and OPD-M (p = 0.000), and SE measured with OPD-M (p = 0.004). In the Micropure lens group, the Friedman analysis showed differences for all values studied (p < 0.05). Correlation coefficients showed that AR is the objective method with the strongest correlation values for all components of refraction for both groups. Received: June 13, 2015 Accepted: February 04, 2016, PURPOSE: To compare visual outcomes, rotational stability, and centration in a randomized controlled trial in patients undergoing cataract surgery who were bilaterally implanted with two different trifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) with a similar optical zone but different haptic shape. METHODS: Twenty-one patients (42 eyes) with cataract and less than 1.50 D of corneal astigmatism underwent implantation of one FineVision/MicoF IOL in one eye and one POD FineVision IOL in the contralateral eye (PhysIOL, Liège, Belgium) at IOA Madrid Innova Ocular, Madrid, Spain. IOL allocation was random. Outcome measures, all evaluated 3 months postoperatively, included monocular and binocular uncorrected distance (UDVA), corrected distance (CDVA), distance-corrected intermediate (DCIVA), and near (DCNVA) visual acuity (at 80, 40, and 25 cm) under photopic conditions, refraction, IOL centration, haptic rotation, dysphotopsia, objective quality of vision and aberration quantification, patient satisfaction, and spectacle independence. RESULTS: Three months postoperatively, mean monocular UDVA, CDVA, DCIVA, and DCNVA (40 cm) under photopic conditions were 0.04 ± 0.07, 0.01 ± 0.04, 0.15 ± 0.11, and 0.16 ± 0.08 logMAR for the eyes implanted with the POD FineVision IOL and 0.03 ± 0.05, 0.01 ± 0.02, 0.17 ± 0.12, and 0.14 ± 0.08 logMAR for those receiving the FineVision/MicroF IOL. Moreover, the POD FineVision IOL showed similar centration (P > .05) and better rotational stability (P < .05) than the FineVision/MicroF IOL. Regarding halos, there was a minimal but statistically significant difference, obtaining better results with FineVision/MicroF. Full spectacle independence was reported by all patients. CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed similar visual outcomes for both trifocal IOLs under test (POD FineVision and FineVision/MicroF). SETTING: Grupo Innova Ocular clinics. METHODS: A total of 50 eyes from 50 patients were included. Group 1 (n = 25) was implanted with the TECNIS® 1 ZLB +3.25 and group 2 (n = 25) with the TECNIS® 1 ZKB +2.75. Patients were assessed at 24 hours, 1 week and 1 month postoperatively. At surgical discharge, corrected (CDVA) and uncorrected distance visual acuity (UCDVA), near visual acuity (VA) at 25, 40 and 80 cm, visual quality and the defocus curve were measured. RESULTS: Changes in sphere and spherical equivalent were statistically significant (p<0.01) in both groups at 1 week and 1 month compared to preoperative values. In group 1, UCDVA logMAR at 1 month was 0.06 ± 0.02. In group 2, UCDVA at 1 month was 0.03 ± 0.03. In near vision, the TECNIS® 1 ZLB group obtained a VA logMAR of 0.35 ± 0.02 at 25 cm, 0.13 ± 0.02 at 40 cm and 0.27 ± 0.02 at 80 cm, while in the TECNIS® 1 ZKB group, the values were 0.38 ± 0.03, 0.14 ± 0.03 and 0.23 ± 0.06, respectively. No statistically significant differences were found either when results for visual quality were compared. Methods: This retrospective observational study included subjects undergoing refractive surgery with posterior chamber phakic IOL implantation to correct their myopia. The anterior chamber depth (ACD) and the horizontal white to white (WTW) or the angle to angle (ATA) distance were measured with the following four devices: the IOLMaster 700 biometer (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Jena, Germany), based on swept-source optical coherence tomography; the Cirrus and Visante optical coherence tomographs (Carl Zeiss Meditec) based on low-coherence interferometry; and the Pentacam rotating Scheimpflug camera (Oculus, Wetzlar, Germany). Results: In the horizontal corneal diameter measurements, there were statistically significant differences between Pentacam–IOLMaster 700 pair (P < 0.001) and Pentacam–Visante pair (P < 0.001). WTW from CIRRUS showed the lowest correlation when paired with Pentacam and IOLMaster 700 (R2 = 0.452 and 0.385 for Visante and R2 = 0.494 and 0.426 for Cirrus). Regarding the linear correlation of the ACD measurements, all pairs of devices were statistically significant and all of them showed a very good correlation index. Conclusion: There is a good agreement between the different devices under evaluation for ACD measurements. Prospective comparative cohort study with 38 myopic patients who underwent ICL implantation were divided into two groups of 19 patients, each one based on the spherical equivalent (SE): high-power (SE ≤ −6 D) and low-to-moderate (SE > −6 D). The push-up amplitude of accommodation (AA), monocular accommodative facility (MAF), distance and near ocular deviation, near convergence amplitude, near point convergence (NPC), stereopsis, and accommodative convergence/accommodation (AC/A) ratio were assessed before surgery and 1 week and 1 month postoperatively. The mean residual refractive error at 1 month after surgery improved in both groups, 0.18 ± 0.34 D and 0.09 ± 0.26 D, respectively (p < 0.001). There was a significant decrease in AA in both groups between preoperatively and at 1-week (p = 0.001; p = 0.008, respectively) and 1-month follow-up (p = 0.001; p = 0.008). CRUE-CSIC (Acuerdos Transformativos 2021), Purpose: In the event that any ocular parameter involved in the calculation of intraocular lens power could not be properly measured in one eye, it is important to know whether clinically relevant differences between both eyes can be expected. The aim of this work is to evaluate the symmetry of interocular biometric parameters. Methods: This was a prospective, cross-sectional study involving 4090 subjects. Patients underwent consecutive swept-source optical biometry performed with an IOLMaster 700 (Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, Jena, Germany). The biometric parameters that were evaluated were: axial length (AL), mean anterior curvature (Rm), anterior chamber depth (ACD), crystalline lens thickness (LT), central corneal thickness (CCT) and white-to-white (WTW). The Chang-Waring chord distance (CWC-D) and the Chang-Waring chord angle (CWC-A) were also evaluated. Results: There is an excellent correlation between both eyes for almost all the biometric parameters under study, with the exception of the CWC. Agreement for AL was better for eyes shorter than 24 mm. The linearity of the OD-vs-OS relationship can be correctly assumed for all parameters (Cusum test: p > 0.05 in all cases). Conclusion: There are no clinically significant interocular differences for the biometric parameters under study, although for all of them, except the LT, statistically significant differences did arise. To compare postcataract surgery visual and optical performance between two trifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs) with the same optical design: a hydrophobic acrylic glistening-free IOL and a hydrophilic acrylic IOL. Methods. Patients were bilaterally implanted with either the hydrophobic or the hydrophilic IOL. The data of the patients’ right eyes were evaluated. Visual quality assessments included refractive outcomes, monocular visual acuity (VA) at far, intermediate, and near distances, defocus curve, aberrations (spherical aberration (SA)), root mean square (RMS) of corneal, internal, and total higher-order aberrations (HOAs)), and tilt of IOL. Results. Fifty-one patients were included in the analysis: 26 patients implanted with the hydrophobic IOL and 25 patients implanted with the hydrophilic IOL. At 1 month, no statistically significant differences were found for monocular uncorrected and corrected VA at distance, distance-corrected VA at intermediate and near, defocus curve, manifest spherical equivalent, total SA, and RMS of the total, internal, and corneal HOA. The defocus curve of both groups showed a visual acuity of 0.3 logMAR or better in the intermediate range from 0.5 to −2.5 D of vergence level with no significant differences between the groups. Compared to the hydrophilic group, y-direction tilt was significantly higher in the hydrophobic group (p=0.027). The total tilt and x-axis tilt did not differ between the groups. Conclusion. Review/Update, The purpose was to review and document the methods used to calculate the power of the intraocular lens (IOL) to be implanted in cataract surgery in the specific scenario of eyes with keratoconus (KC). This review was conducted of all scientific articles published in English that focused on the parameters and formulas used to calculate the power of the IOL to be implanted in eyes with KC undergoing cataract surgery. There are few publications that show in detail how IOL power is calculated in those particular cases. If the keratometric value is used based on the standard refractive index (1.3375), this results in a postoperative refractive error with a tendency to hyperopia. The SRK/T formula is the formula yielding the best outcomes. Patients and Methods: Fifty-one patients (102 eyes) were randomized to receive trifocal IOLs bilaterally – FineVision POD F (hydrophilic) or FineVision POD F GF (hydrophobic) (both PhysIOL, Liége, Belgium). The follow-up period was 3 months. Outcome measurements included uncorrected distance (UDVA), corrected distance (CDVA), distance-corrected intermediate (DCIVA), and distance-corrected near visual acuity (DCNVA), refraction, negative dysphotopsia, optical quality of vision, contrast sensitivity under photopic and mesopic conditions, halometry (discrimination index), and patient-reported outcomes. Results: At the final study visit, mean (SD) values for binocular UDVA, CDVA, DCIVA (80 cm), and DCNVA (40 cm) were − 0.01 (0.06), − 0.04 (0.04), 0.09 (0.10), and 0.10 (0.09) logMAR, respectively, for POD F, and 0.01 (0.08), − 0.03 (0.03), 0.08 (0.1), and 0.13 (0.11) respectively, for POD F GF. Defocus assessments showed a continuous curve with a functional range of visual acuity (≤ 0.15 logMAR) from ∼ 30 cm to infinity in both groups. The discrimination index was > 0.85 for all patients, and both groups showed similar contrast sensitivity under photopic and mesopic conditions. At 3 months, no patient reported negative dysphotopsia, and high satisfaction rates were observed. Conclusion: Clinical outcomes showed no significant difference between each lens when measured at 1 month and 3 months after implantation. Setting: IOA, Madrid, Spain Design: Retrospective observational case series. Methods: This study’s first stage included 3519 eyes from 3519 candidates to cataract surgery for which frequency distributions for the following biometric eye parameters were computed: axial length (AXL), anterior-chamber depth (ACD), lens thickness (LT), white-to-white (WTW) and mean corneal radius (Rm). The resulting data for each parameter were 5th, 25th, 75th and 95th percentile, which allowed us to define the corresponding normality range. In a second stage, the new graphic-representation method was tested for 9 different formulae in a sample of 70 eyes undergoing cataract surgery with multifocal intraocular lens (MIOL) implantation. Results: Normality ranges (defined as the 25th-to-75th-percentile interval) were 22.84 to 24.42 mm for AXL, 2.86 to 3.39 mm for ACD, 4.36 to 4.88 mm for LT, 11.64 to 12.19 mm for WTW and 7.52 to 7.87 mm for Rm, with lower sizes in women. No significant differences were found along the 9 formulae for percentage of eyes in ±0.50D (p=0.82) or ±1.00D (p=0.97). The new graphical method showed less accuracy in ±0.50 D for ACDs from 2.46 to 2.85 mm (5th to 25th percentile) for several formulae (p<0.05). Conclusions: 9 formulae showed non-significant differences in the general predictability for a sample of eyes candidates to MIOL implantation. Received: March 25, 2020; Accepted: September 28, 2020, PURPOSE: To measure the in vivo longitudinal chromatic aberration (LCA) from the chromatic difference of focus (480 to 700 nm) using psychophysical methods in patients bilaterally implanted with a hydrophobic trifocal intraocular lens (IOL). METHODS: Psychophysical best focus was measured in both eyes at different wavelengths (480 to 700 nm) and at three different viewing distances (0.00, +1.75, and +3.50 diopters [D]) using a custom-developed polychromatic adaptive optics set-up provided with a supercontinuum laser, a Hartmann-Shack wavefront sensor, a deformable mirror, a motorized Badal system, a pupil monitoring system, and a psychophysical channel with monochromatically illuminated stimuli. Measurements were performed on 10 patients (20 eyes) bilaterally implanted with hydrophobic trifocal diffractive IOLs (FineVisionHP POD F GF; PhysIOL). LCA was computed from the chromatic difference of focus curves as the difference between 480 and 700 nm at near, intermediate, and far. RESULTS:The LCA from psychophysical measurements was significantly higher for far vision (0.99 ± 0.06 diopters [D]), than for intermediate (0.67 ± 0.10 D) and near (0.23 ± 0.08 D) vision (one-way analysis of variance, P < .05). CONCLUSIONS: LCA for far vision was significantly higher than for intermediate and near vision in hydrophobic trifocal diffractive IOLs, in agreement with a previous study with the same optical design but hydrophilic material IOLs. The LCA for the hydro-phobic IOL is slightly higher than for the hydrophilic IOL at far. Received April 05, 2019; revised form November 27, 2019; Accepted February 08, 2020, Purpose: To evaluate changes in angle kappa following the implantation of a trifocal intraocular lens (IOL), and to assess the postoperative outcomes of patients with different angle kappa values. Setting: IOA Madrid Innova Ocular, Madrid, Spain Design: Prospective trial Methods: Sixty-three patients due to have bilateral implantation of the diffractive trifocal IOL (POD F, PhysIOL, Belgium) were included. Pupil offset was used as the best estimate of angle kappa and was measured using Pentacam (Oculus, Wetzlar, Germany) preoperatively and at 3-months after surgery. Postoperative refractive outcomes (sphere, cylinder, and MRSE) and visual outcomes at far, intermediate and near distance were assessed and compared between eyes with small pupil offset and eyes with large pupil offset. Quality of vision was assessed using a subjective questionnaire. Results: There was significant decrease in pupil offset post-operatively (mean: 0.197 ± 0.12 mm) compared to preoperatively (mean: 0.239 ± 0.12 mm), with a mean decrease of -0.042 mm (P = 0.0002). The same significant decrease was found for both the right eyes and left eyes, when analysed separately. No statistically significant difference was found in any of the refractive and visual acuity outcomes between eyes with small pupil offset and eyes with large pupil offset. The majority of patients (14 out of 16) complaining of significant halos had eyes with small pupil offset. Conclusion: Large pupil offset did not negatively affect visual and refractive outcomes. The tolerance to larger pupil offset might be due to the IOL optical design, with the first diffractive ring being larger than other commonly used multifocal IOLs. All other rights are reserved., We describe a psychophysical method and a simple setup – an autorefractor with a Scheiner disc, sequentially illuminated with red and blue lights – for the clinical assessment of the longitudinal chromatic aberration (LCA) in phakic and pseudophakic patients. This method applies to the unaccommodated eye, even in the presence of positive or negative refractive errors and astigmatism. It measures the chromatic difference of refraction as an estimate of LCA. We built a proof of concept from inexpensive and off-the-shelf optomechanical components with which we obtained the preliminary clinical results presented in the paper. We considered one control group of phakic patients and three groups of pseudophakic patients with monofocal implants of different designs and materials. Submitted: April 18, 2018; Accepted: November 26, 2018, PURPOSE: To assess the effectiveness of small incision lenticule extraction (SMILE) as a function of the astigmatism level and type. METHODS: A total of 102 right eyes were included in this study. Refractive astigmatism and corneal astigmatism measured with Scheimpflug technology were retrieved from the preoperative visit and the 3-month follow-up visit. Patients were split into three groups according to the preoperative refractive astigmatism (0.50, 0.75 to 1.25, and 1.50 diopters [D] or greater) and the effectiveness among each group was evaluated according to the with-the-rule (WTR), against-the-rule (ATR), and oblique classifications. The standard Alpins method was used for the analysis. RESULTS: Resultant astigmatism was not associated with its preoperative classification when the total sample was considered, but a significant association emerged between the presence of resultant astigmatism and its preoperative classification in the 1.50 D or greater group. The magnitude of error was significantly lower in the WTR (median: -0.30 D) than in the oblique and ATR astigmatism groups, resulting in a coefficient of adjustment of 1.13 for WTR astigmatism of 1.50 D or greater but not for the other types. CONCLUSIONS: Astigmatism correction with SMILE is predictable for astigmatism lower than 1.50 D without the need to apply a correction. Received: 7 august 2019; Accepted: 16 november 2019, Purpose: To evaluate medium-term clinical outcomes with microstent XEN® 45 Gel Stent (Allergan Dublin, Ireland) for treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG). Material and methods: This is a retrospective, descriptive and observational study involving 93 eyes from 63 patients who had undergone POAG surgery with a XEN® 45 Gel Stent implantation and had been followed up and controlled between 12 and 36 months. Results: IOP dropped from 18.23 ± 5.00 mmHg pre-op to 14.16 ± 2.14, 14.47 ± 2.16 and 14.63 ± 1.91 at 1, 2 and 3 years after surgery (p = 0.000, 0.000 and 0.001) consecutively. Mean number of medications dropped from 1.87 ± 0.94 preoperatively to 0.31 ± 0.69, 0.34 ± 0.63 and 1.00 ± 0.88 (p = 0.000, 0.000 and 0.017) at 12, 24 and 36 months. Mean visual field deviation values never turned out to be significant for any of the follow-up visit data. A total of 94.6% of the surgical procedures turned out to be complication-free. In one surgery, the procedure failed and 18 months later other device was implanted. Article first published online: September 10, 2018 Received: March 20, 2018; Accepted: July 27, 2018, Purpose: To compare rotational stability, centration and visual outcomes provided by three trifocal lens models that have the same optical zone design but different material, composition, and/or toricity. Methods: The study included 78 patients with symmetric bilateral intraocular lens implantation. The lenses under evaluation were trifocal intraocular lenses made of hydrophilic acrylic material: a spherical lens 26% hydrophilic acrylic (POD FineVision), a similar lens but having a toric design (POD Toric FineVision), and a trifocal lens 25% hydrophilic acrylic material (FineVision/MicroF). Moreover, the lenses share the same optical zone design. The lenses’ rotational stability and centration were measured by means of the PIOLET software, which relies on recording and image processing techniques to determine lens rotation and centration based on slit-lamp images. We also assessed patients’ visual quality by means of 25, 40, and 80 cm VA tests. Results: The best centration results were achieved with the POD Toric FineVision model, although the differences were not statistically significant. As for lens rotation, it was below 5° in all cases under study. Regarding VA, all subjects attained at least 0.3 logMAR for far distance uncorrected VA, at 80 cm VA was about 0.2 logMAR, at 40 cm it was above 0.15 logMAR, and at 25 cm it was about 0.3 logMAR for both lens types. Conclusion: All three intraocular lens models yield excellent visual results at far, near as well as intermediate distances. The POD FineVision and POD Toric FineVision models, with double C-loop design, yielded the best results centrationwise and rotation-wise. Purpose: To evaluate surgically induced astigmatism as computed by means of either simulated keratometry (KSIM) or total corneal refractive power (TCRP) after temporal incisions. Methods: Prospective observational study including 36 right eyes undergoing cataract surgery. Astigmatism was measured preoperatively during the 3-month follow-up period using Pentacam. Surgically induced astigmatism was computed considering anterior corneal surface astigmatism at 3mm with KSIM and considering both corneal surfaces with TCRP from 1 to 8mm (TCRP3 for 3mm). The eyes under study were divided into two balanced groups: LOW with KSIM astigmatism <0.90D and HIGH with KSIM astigmatism ≥0.90D. Resulting surgically induced astigmatism values were compared across groups and measuring techniques by means of flattening, steepening, and torque analysis. Results: Mean surgically induced astigmatism was higher in the HIGH group (0.31D @ 102°) than in the LOW group (0.04 D @ 16°). The temporal incision resulted in a steepening in the HIGH group of 0.15 D @ 90°, as estimated with KSIM, versus 0.28 D @ 90° with TCRP3, but no significant differences were found for the steepening in the LOW group or for the torque in either group. Differences between KSIM- and TCRP3-based surgically induced astigmatism values were negligible in LOW group. Conclusion: Surgically induced astigmatism was considerably higher in the high-astigmatism group and its value was underestimated with the KSIM approach. Setting: IOA Madrid Innova Ocular, Madrid, Spain. Design: Prospective, controlled clinical trial. Methods: Patients (>50 years) were implanted bilaterally with either a trifocal spherical hydrophilic IOL (FineVision POD F) if corneal astigmatism was 1.0 diopter (D) or less, or with a trifocal toric hydrophilic IOL (FineVision POD FT) if astigmatism was more than 1.0 D. Outcomes analyzed 3 months after surgery included monocular and binocular visual acuities at distance, near, and intermediate, both uncorrected and corrected. Defocus curves, contrast sensitivity, and patient satisfaction were also assessed. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between groups in monocular uncorrected distance (UDVA) (P = .38), monocular corrected distance (CDVA) (P = .22), or distance-corrected intermediate (DCIVA) (P = .95) visual acuities; however, the distance-corrected near visual acuity (DCNVA) was slightly better in the spherical IOL group (P = .008). The UDVA was 20/25 or better in 89% of eyes in the spherical IOL group and 93% in the toric IOL group. The DCIVA was 20/32 or better in 92% of eyes in the spherical IOL group and 93% in the toric IOL group at 80 cm (Radner Vissum chart), and 20/32 or better in 100% of eyes in both groups at 63 cm (Colenbrander chart). The DCNVA (Radner chart) was 20/32 or better in 89% of eyes in the spherical IOL group and 90% of eyes in the toric IOL group. There was no difference between the groups in contrast sensitivity, defocus curves, cylinder, or satisfaction results. Conclusion: Patients had significant improvement in visual acuity and gained functional uncorrected visual acuity across all distances in both groups. Received: 29 September 2016 ; Accepted in revised form: 27 April 2017, Purpose: The aim of this study was to gain greater insight into the corneal densitometry changes occurring as a result of refractive surgery and to compare these changes across three widely used surgical techniques, namely, photorefractive keratectomy (PRK), laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis with a femtosecond laser (LASIK-FS), or ReLEx small-incision lenticule extraction (ReLEx SMILE). Patients and methods: Three hundred and thirty-six patients (184 male and 152 female patients) participated in this study. They were split into three groups according to the refractive surgery technique they had undergone: LASIK-FS (74 patients), PRK (153 patients), and ReLEx SMILE (109 patients). All participants underwent an exhaustive eye examination both before and after surgery. Pre- and postoperative corneal densitometry was measured using an Oculus Pentacam system. Results: The mean postoperative total corneal densitometry values were 16.53 ± 1.94 for the LASIK- FS group, 15.53 ± 1.65 for PRK, and 16.10 ± 1.54 for ReLEx SMILE. When corneal densitometry was analyzed for specific corneal areas, the values corresponding to the 0–2, 2–6, and 6–10 mm annuli were similar across the three surgical techniques. The only region in which differences were found was the peripheral area (Po0.05), but these variations across techniques were not statistically significant. Conclusions: Corneal densitometry can be used as an objective metric to assess corneal response to refractive surgery, and to monitor patients over time. Received: 31 August 2016 / Accepted: 7 November 2016, Purpose: to determine normative corneal densitometry values in relation to age, sex, refractive error, corneal thickness, and keratometry, measured using the Oculus Pentacam system. Methods: three hundred and thirty-eight healthy subjects (185 men; 153 women) with no corneal disease underwent an exhaustive ocular examination. Corneal densitometry was expressed in standardized grayscale units (GSU). Results: the mean corneal densitometry over the total area was 16.46 ± 1.85 GSU. The Pearson correlation coefficient for total densitometry was r = 0.542 (p < 0.001). Statistically significant differences were found between men and women for the total area (p = 0.006), with readings of 16.22 ± 1.54 GSU and 16.60 ± 1.83 GSU, respectively. When the cornea was divided into layers of different depths, a significant correlation was found for all layers and age: r = 0.447 (p < 0.001), r = 0.563 (p < 0.001), and r = 0.520 (p < 0.001) for the anterior, central, and posterior layers, respectively. However, when the cornea was divided into concentric annuli starting from the center of the cornea, densitometry was strongly correlated only with age in the 6–10-mm annulus (p < 0.001). Neither mean keratometry nor spherical equivalent was correlated with corneal densitometry in any zone of the cornea (p > 0.05). Conclusions: this is the first report of normative corneal densitometry values in relation to keratometry, corneal thickness, and spherical equivalent measured with the latest Oculus Pentacam software.
