6 Abstract In recent decades the field of fluvial geomorphology has moved towards the most detailed and comprehensive description of the processes in fluvial systems. The recent development of UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) has been a major contribution in analysis of fluvial processes, it provides very detailed data for change analysis. This thesis deals with the analysis of recent fluvial dynamics using UAV. The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes the current theoretical and methodological knowledge from the study of fluvial dynamics and also presents the general principles of UAV monitoring with its use in fluvial-geomorfological research. Recent fluvial dynamics was evaluated in the stretch of Javoří brook in Šumava Mountains where the long-term research is conducted by the Department of Physical Geography and Geoecology. Causal runoff events with an impact on fluvial dynamics were identified on the basis of the analysis of hydrometeorological data covering hydrological years from 2016 to 2020. A total of fourteen events exceeded the threshold of channel-forming discharge Q = 5,041 m3 ·s−1 in the investigated period. 6. Effect of climate change on hydrological extremes in montane catchments

This master thesis deals with the issue of low-flows in mountain catchments in the context of expected climate change. The Zdobnice, Vydra and Mumlava river basins are selected for analysis. In the first part of thesis, the meteorological and hydrological historical data are evaluated. This data are obtained from CHMI (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute). The work also focuses on estimating the possible change in flow rates in the distant future (2100). For these purposes, the conceptual model HBV is used. This model is often used for these types of analyzes due to its robustness. To evaluate the change, twelve alternative scenarios were created. These scenarious were based on the results of global and regional climate models related to each selected river basins. The model was calibrated using the automatic GAP optimization function. Based on the best results, the calibration period is set for the years 1980 - 1998. Climate models suggest increase of temperature in far future by 1.5 ř C - 4.5 ř C. At the same time, according to climate models, we can approximate a total precipitation change by 10 %. Based on climate changes, a shift in the runoff seasonality in the all river basins is evident. The bachelor's thesis entitled Depiction of natural and anthropogenic disasters in the contemporary audiovisual environment - (main Czech news broadcast ČT, Nova, CNN Prima News) deals with media segments of main Czech news broadcast dedicated to disasters. The theoretical part includes a definition of catastrophes as events, offers a short historic outlook on the beginnings of their portrayal in audiovisual news media, and covers the main transformations of the role journalists while working on them. It also describes the latest technology, problematic elements in broadcasting and psychological influence of audiovisual news reporting on disasters. The main part of the examination is to analyse the depiction of the floods 2020 in the Czech Republic, Australian bushfires 2019-2020, and hurricane Laura 2020 in the United States of America. These events represent domestic and foreign disasters. The work also offers brief characteristics of selected broadcasts and disasters. The work aims to contextualise chosen problematic, analyse and compare related segments in selected broadcasts. The work uses methodology of content analysis and comparison. It is a case study.

The main object of this bachelor is the assessment of rainfall-runoff processes with a primary focus on the occurrence of extreme hydrological phenomena in the upper basin of the Ostravice river. The first part of the work is devoted to literature research dealing with the issue of extreme hydrological phenomena and their assessment methods, supplemented by research about current findings regarding changes in the rainfall-runoff regime. This part ends with a description of the physical-geographical conditions of the basin, ilustrated by map outputs. In the second practical part, the available data of average daily flows and daily precipitation totals from the ČHMÚ are analyzed in the period 1970-2020. By Pettit's test of homogeneity, the period is divided into two parts (1970-1995 and 1996-2020) to analyze the change in seasonality of the runoff regime and extreme events. Attention is also paid to the change in the ratio of base and direct runoff using the baseflow index and the runoff coefficient. To detect changes in the characteristics of the frequency of occurrence, duration and intensity of extreme events, the threshold value method and the insufficient volume method were used. Článek se zabývá tematikou environmentálních hazardů v rámci geografického vzdělávání. Je zde navržen způsob, jakým lze problematiku environmentálních hazardů na lokální úrovni ve vzdělávání zprostředkovávat. Navrhovanou formou je projektová výuka, která je zpracována na třech úrovních. První z úrovní je získání obecných znalostí o procesech spojených s hazardem a seznámení s terminologií. Další úroveň se zabývá ochranou vůči hazardu při jeho průběhu a poslední část se zaměřuje na obranu vůči hazardu do budoucna. Jako vzorový příklad byl vybrán hazard pro naše území velmi významný, tedy povodně. Byl zpracován ukázkový projekt, který aplikuje teoretická východiska v praxi a zahrnuje práci s aplikací Google Earth i terénní vyučování. Tento projekt byl dvakrát realizován. Vyhodnocení výsledků realizací je součástí závěrečné části článku.

This bachelor thesis is about situations of jeopardy of operational and information center of the Fire Brigade of the South Bohemia Region that can occur during the extraordinary events (incidents) such as floods and leak of dangerous gas. For better explanation there is small brief about characteristics of main type of dangerous gas and substance and characteristics of dispatching centre. Chosen problem is solid by the research about ability to maintain readiness of the operational and information center of the Fire Brigade of the South Bohemian Region. Two main hypotheses were verified by the research. The first hypothesis was disproven and the second was proven correct. H1: Altitude and location in the building is important in case of protection of the operational and information centre of the Fire Brigade of the South Bohemia Region. H2: Air condition with carbon filters is sufficient in the case of leak of dangerous substances. Verification of hypothesis made its part in fulfilling of goals in this thesis. The goal was to propose options for ability to maintain readiness of the operational and information center of the Fire-Brigade of the South Bohemia Region. The conclusion of the research that has been made is simple - the best way is to form a backup workplace - proper equipped. The benefit for theory is that some examples of extraordinary events - incidents - were explored and described. The functioning of the dispatching centre during those theoretical events was Explorer and described too. The benefit for practice could be found in propositions for securing of dispatching centre from the threat of poisonous gas leak and from flooding. The research that was made could be starting point that can trigger next research about other threats that can occur and jeopardize the dispatching centre workplace.

Floods associated with extreme precipitation are one of the most serious natural hazards, which produce substantial human and socio-economic losses in central Europe. One way to reduce the impact of flooding is by increasing preparedness with better flood forecasts and warnings, which is not possible without a proper understanding of physical processes leading to a flood hazard. However, frequent research on floods in relation to causal precipitation and synoptic conditions is usually carried out regionally, although some events often affect areas of a size of entire countries or even larger. The thesis was focused exactly on these large-scale precipitation and flood events that occurred in the second half of the 20th century and then until 2013, for which the size of the affected area is as crucial in the extremity assessment as the magnitude of flood discharges or precipitation totals. The extremity indices used for the assessment of extreme precipitation and flood events connected both aspects. The larger area of interest defined within central Europe allowed examining the spatial structure of events, the differences between them, and their relation to conditions in the atmosphere. The bachelor thesis deals with the protection of the population and focuses mainly on one of its main tasks - evacuation. The theoretical part is based primarily on the literature and legislation, which are an integral part of this topic. The introduction of this section briefly describes the history and the development of population protection. The following is a definition of the term "integrated rescue system", a description of its components and documentation. Furthermore, the basic tasks of population protection are thoroughly characterized. At the end of the theoretical part it is discussed and the issue of floods, including the first records in the city of Písek, which is related to the research part of this bachelor's thesis. The aim of the research part of this work was a thorough analysis of answers from 27 respondents to a pre-prepared interview and subsequent evaluation and comparison of the answers. The behavior and knowledge of the inhabitants living in the flood area of the town of Písek during the evacuation during the floods were assessed. The interview consisted of two parts, where in the first informative part the respondents were acquainted with the topic of the interview and recorded data on the gender of respondents, their age category and whether they experienced floods in Písek in 2002. The second part, research, contained 8 questions evacuation during floods. All questions were designed to be comprehensible to each interviewee and they could answer them based on their experience. All interviews were anonymous and no additional questions were asked to respondents during the interviews. A comparison of the answers and their subsequent evaluation is given in the discussion. It was found that the inhabitants of the town of Písek are not sufficiently familiar with how to proceed and behave during floods. Their knowledge is not enough and it would be a good awareness to increase the evacuation during floods - for example, through professionally led lectures for the public or greater emphasis on teaching this area in schools. The conclusion contains another possible use of the bachelor's thesis in practice.

The aim of the work was to conduct research in the field of population protection focused on the tasks and activities of units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities. For this purpose, the study of laws, decrees and professional literature focusing on the protection of the population was used together with the use of information obtained from the Fire Rescue Corps of the South Bohemian Region, the Institute of Population Protection, the study of Population Protection with a focus on CBRNE at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice and websites focusing on this area. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis, the relevant laws, other legal regulations, professional literature and other information sources in the field of population protection were analyzed. These include warning and informing the population, evacuation, hiding, decontamination and individual protection. Information on selected emergencies is also described here. In the practical part, records of excursions at the Institute of Population Protection in Lázně Bohdaneč, training of commanders of units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities in the South Bohemian Region and expert consultations with members of the Fire Rescue Corps of the South Bohemian Region and selected members of the volunteer fire brigade of Dubičné. Within the practical part, cooperation was established with the authors of selected Internet sources, who provided consent to the inclusion of the QR code of their site in the practical part. Through the Statistical Monitoring of Events, the activity of units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities in the protection of the population was evaluated. A set was created that will enable the education of members of the units of the voluntary fire brigade of municipalities in the field of protection of the population together with the support of the activities of the members of the units in the performance of the given tasks.

The topic of my bachelor thesis is evaluation of evacuation during major floods. Metodology of qualitative research was used in the thesis. In the theoretical part I dealt with important concepts of the topic, and Integrated rescue system is describe in detail. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, I deal with emergencies, especially floods and their precausions. Last but not least, I dealt theoretically with the protection of inhabitants, specifically their evacuation. The practical part consist mainly of qualitative research and analysis of the extent of evacuation during the extensive floods in 2002 in the town of Blatná. The results of the practical part were interpreted and analyzed in charts. The discussion part is a summary and brief evaluation of the results of work on specific examples. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to uwrite up the theoretical basis for flood plans and then review the extent of evacuation and assess the flood area during the flood in 2002 in the town of Blatná, Strakonice district.

Rain-on-snow events (ROS) are natural phenomena that have the potential to cause serious floods, wet avalanches and slushflows. Due to climate change the spatial distribution and intensity of ROS events is changing. Accordingly, ROS events become more frequent in high-elevation areas as well as in high latitudes, whereas their occurrence at low-elevation and low latitudes is less common. The behaviour of a snow coverduringrainfallandmechanismsofrainwaterpropagationthroughthesnowpackarestill poorly understood. A frequency and correlation analysis of ROS events in the Ptačí potok basin in the Šumava Mts. was conducted. The selected characteristics of the events were calculated from measured climate and streamflow data (2015-2019) and then analysed to examine the influence of individual characteristics on the development of ROS events. Results indicate a significant correlation between the amount of precipitation and the resulting outflow, as well as the influence of other snow and rain characteristics was shown. The time lag of outflow was mainly influenced by snow density. Ty jsou pro Liberecký kraj typické a objevují se zde každoročně. This thesis discusses the relationship between the population endangered by floods and the funds allocated to flood control measures in the Ústí nad Labem Region in the drainage basin of the Ohře and Elbe rivers, the general characteristics of flood control issues in the Czech Republic and particularly in the Ústí nad Labem Region, as well as other parameters that impact flood issues. In order to achieve its objectives, this dissertation utilised data collection and general theoretical and data file processing methods. A significant step was the application of two-dimensional statistical analyses, specifically regressive and correlation analyses. Another selected method was SWOT analysis. Solving the described research problems was associated with the process of verifying the following hypotheses: Hypothesis H1: The statistical dependence between the number of endangered inhabitants and the amount of funds for flood protection is based on linear regression. This hypothesis was confirmed, and the benefit of the confirmation of the hypothesis is also the determination of the significant role of the number of endangered inhabitants in ascertaining the amount of funds for flood control measures. Hypothesis H2: The statistical dependence between the number of the endangered inhabitants and the amount of funds for flood control measures is based on a strong positive correlation. This hypothesis was partially confirmed. A positive correlation was proved, though only a weak one rather than the expected strong correlation. This result indicates the necessity of not ignoring the examination of all parameters that affect approaches to the protection of the population in the municipalities. The verification of hypotheses H1 and H2 and the performance of a SWOT analysis made it possible to make other partial conclusions as well. Although the dissertation discussed floods at the Q100 limit, floods that correspond to level Q10 were proved to occur most frequently in the Ústí nad Labem Region. It is also for this reason that many flood control measures in the municipalities in this region are based on this finding. The flood control measures implemented at levels Q20-Q100 seem to be adequate.

The object of the bachelor thesis is to analyze the change of extremity and seasonality of floods in the Zdobnice basin. The literary research comprehensively presents floods with description of the biggest historical floods in the Czechia and in the Zdobnice basin. The literary research also includes the physical-geographical characteristic of the studied area. The practical part is based on the daily flow data analysis, obtained from CHMI (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute). Runoff analysis is performed on the base of these data, with focus on extreme flows. To compare the seasonality change, data series is divided into two periods (1945-1969 and 1970-2014), which point of change was determined by Pettit's and Buishand's homogeneity test. Seasonality change is compared by directional statistics, polar graphs, curves of cumulative frequency and flood index. As a result of these methods, it is found that in the second period, the flood risk is greater in earlier parts of the year. It has been also found, that there are more flood events in July. The object of this dissertation is to describe the influence of water works on the outflow from a watershed through the Hydrologic Modelling System Hec HMS. It is a direct application to the particular watershed of the Bílský Stream. In the theoretical part about relevant literature, solutions to the topics related to this issue are found. It focuses especially on the water balance in the watershed; the outflow from the watershed and other factors by which the watershed is influenced; extreme flows and flood activity with appropriate security steps such as water basins. At the end of the part on the literature, there are five different systems for creating hydrologic models with the specialisation on the Hec HMS model. The practical part is about preparing input data for the hydrologic model and its subsequent creation. Particular runoff from different N-year precipitation (N = 2, 10, 50 and 100) are compared. Two hydrologic models have been created for comparison, one with the watershed without a reservoir and the second one with a reservoir included. The resultant part is about watching flows, volumes of runoffs and the tranformation of the flood wave in a reservoir between N-year precipitation and two different models of watershed.

The topic of my diploma thesis are Epidemiological and ecological impacts of floods in the Cesky Krumlov district. In the theoretical part I deal, from the perspective of epidemiology, with infectious diseases that may occur due to floods, I explain what information system was used by the regional hygiene stations in order to carry out the obligatory report, records, and analysis of occurrence of infectious diseases, and I would like to point out that from 1 January 2018 on, a new system started working for regional hygiene stations in the Czech Republic. Further, I deal with ecological impacts, and explain ecology in terms of Nature Conservation Act. Last but not least, I mention floods as such in the theoretical part, I define flood legislation, what administrative authorities work if such a crisis situation occurs, and what flood affected the region of Cesky Krumlov. The practical part analyses Epidat and the ISIN information system data using metaanalysis, searching for a link between them and infectious diseases during floods. I focused on infectious diseases that ma occur in connection to floods, such as Leptospirosis, Shigelosis, Cryptosporidiosis, Gastroenteritis caused by Campylobacteria and Norovirus, Virus Hepatitis type A, and Virus Hepatitis type E. The Discussion part evaluates the questionnaire aimed at the citizens of Cesky Krumlov region, also at the primary school pupils. What is their image of consequences of floods, and what may bet he cause. The results are then discussed in the conclusion of my diploma thesis. Creating an information leaflet meant for the lay public is another output of my diploma thesis.

Legal aspects of water retention in the landscape Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the legal aspects of water retention in the landscape in response to the current problems associated with impaired landscape retention capacity such as drought, erosion or floods. The author first outlines the factual and legal context of the issue, which is followed by an analysis of conceptual, administrative-legal and economic instruments of the Czech legal order that can improve water retention capabilities of the landscape. The diploma thesis analyses the relevant instruments of the Water Act, Forest Act, Act on the protection of agricultural land or Act on protection of nature and landscape. Consequently, it deals with the role of land-use planning, land consolidation and environmental impact assessment for the issue. The thesis includes comprehensive evaluation of the relevant legal regulation in terms of its effectiveness and possible proposals de lege ferenda.

The diploma thesis is focused on the study of the possible creation of dry tank for flood protection in cadastral territory Vizovice. The first part of the thesis consists of literary research of given issues and analysis of the territory. Then the assessment of the outflows from the point of view of the potential threat to the intravilan by the current watercourses and the concentrated surface runoff is developed, taking into account mainly the rainfall from torrential floods. The result is the design of a suitable dry tank location, a detailed analysis of the catchment basin, the calculation of the peak flow and the components of the analysis of the soil samples.

Předmětem bakalářské práce je komplexní restaurování španělského tisku z roku 1670. Jedná se o knihu s názvem Mystica Civda de Dios. Kniha je v současné době uložena v Moravské zemské knihovně v Brně. Dílo bylo v polovině 19. století zasaženo povodněmi. Silně značištěný knižní blok nebyl po povodni řádně očištěn. Knižní blok je silně znečištěn povodňovými polutanty. Papírová podložka byla v minulosti napadena plísní, tudíž je značná část listů zkřehlá a především pevně propojená. Působením vody došlo ke smrštění usně, a tudíž se dále poškozovaly lepenkové desky. Práce obsahuje kompletní restaurátorskou dokumentaci. Je zde zahrnuta stručná identifikace díla, typologický a typografický popis knihy, popis poškození, restaurátorský záměr, podrobný popis restaurátorského zásahu a podmínky uložení. Součástí jsou také chemicko-technologické průzkumy, grafické přílohy a bohatá fotografická dokumentace. V druhé části práce se nachází informace o původních majitelích knižní sbírky a historii hispanik na českém území., The subject of this thesis is a comprehensive restoration of spanish print from 1670. This is a book called Mystica Civda de Dios. This book is these days deposited in the The Moravian Library in Brno. Book was in the middle of 19th century affected by floods. After this event, the block was not properly dried or cleaned. The book block is heavily polluted by flood pollutants. The block has been infested with mold in the past, so a large part of the leaves are skewed and tightly interconnected. The action of the water resulted in the shrinkage of the leather and thus the cardboard plates were further damaged. The work contains complete restoration documentation. This includes a brief identification of the work, typological and typographical description of the book, description of the damage, restoration plan, detailed description of the restorer's intervention and the conditions of storage. Also included chemical-technology surveys, graphic attachments, and rich photographic documentation. In the second part of the thesis there is information about the original owners of the book collection and the history of Hispanics on the Czech territory., Fakulta restaurování, Cílem bakalářské práce bylo komplexní restaurování starého tisku z roku 1670. Studentka úspěšně obhájila bakalářskou práci a uspokojivě zodpověděla položené otázky.

Individual measures are evaluated and compared with other flood control measures in different areas. This bachelor thesis focuses on the flood as a major component of the development in the town of Písek. The thesis aims to analyse the extent of the damage caused by the flood, the financial costs of the reconstruction, and the financial sources for reconstruction. It also explores the flood control and anti-flooding measures taken since the incident. This view of the town contributes to the understanding of the flood as a major component of its development. It describes the chosen locality from demographical and geographical points of view, including the probability of flooding in the given locality and its frequency. The methodology of the work consists of the analysis of information gained from public sources and their comparison. Data was provided by the town of Písek or taken from interviews with the town's representatives. The work interprets the importance of floods for further development and improvement proposals.

36. Creation of educational material in the environment of 3D simulator

The aim of this piece of work was to make a teaching program concerning civil protection using interactive 3D simulator. To create this teaching material, it was important to develop a flood scenario by means of analysing various flood news. The compiled scenario was afterwards simulated by way of 3D simulator in which it was necessary to work with a script language created especially for making flood scenarios which works in Unity engine, and another programming language C# ("C sharp") was used. Questions regarding flood problems completing the whole issue were supposed to be a part of the teaching material. This eventuality was made impossible because of program developers and that is why a questionnaire method was subsequently chosen. Through this way knowledge of the students studying in the study program Civil Protection in The Department of Radiology, Toxicology and Civil Protection in University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice was found out. The results of the questionnaire survey were processed by means of Microsoft Excel 2010 program. According to Paret principle, for evaluating good awareness of the students a limit of 80% of correct answers was determined. As far as the 3D simulator is concerned it would be suitable to make some modifications regarding manipulation with people and means of transport, and also to solve problems with saving the simulated scenario as its rearrangement occured and then other required steps of the scenario were thus made impossible. Awareness of the students did not exceed the set limit of 80% of correct answers, so I suppose that the original idea to implement this issue into the teaching material would be beneficial and the topical subject would be supplemented by important information.

Rain-on-snow events represent a natural hydro-meteorological phenomenon and their occurrence is often associated with floods. Due to the climate change occurrence, rain-on snow events are also changing. The main goal of diploma thesis is to define spatial and temporal occurrence of rain-on-snow events at 16 selected meteorological stations in the Czech Republic between the years 1966-2012. Spatial occurrence of rain-on-snow events is expressed by number of events per meteorological station. Final number of events varies widely even between the stations with similar altitude. Stations with the highest frequency of rain-on-snow events are located in Jizerské hory between 675 and 780 m a.s.l. Temporal occurrence of rain- on-snow events is expressed by number of events per year and month respectively. Time series of rain-on-snow events were analysed by statistical trends to gain information about changes in occurrence over time. Most of the stations proved no statistically significant trend. There was a trend detected only at four out of 16 stations. Three meteorological stations showed a rising trend, whereas one station signalled a decreasing trend. Thesis is focused on evaluation study of technical and natural flood control measures in Sklabiňa area. Analysis of implemented and intended flood control projects was carried out to recognize application of natural water retention measures in the area. Recommendations were made to enhance environmental friendliness of intended flood control projects. Survey was carried out among residents with findings that 90 % of respondents are familiar with natural flood control measures term. However, half of the respondents expressed dissatisfaction with the measures already implemented in the area. Organizations and firms with significant influence in the area were interviewed with findings that they employ proactive approach to erosion and flood control. The output of the thesis is communication strategy plan aimed to increase flood prevention awareness of different target groups of Sklabiňa residents and their trust in natural flood control measures.

This Bachelor thesis deal with the problems of floods on river Sazava. There are described types and characteristic of floods. The thesis sums up methods of historical flood research. It reviews all known floods on Sazava since 1515 up until 2006. While researching these floods, some previous works about Sazava and also historical documents from archives were used. From the found events, the seasonality of floods is made. The floods in 1909 was researched in more detail in the Kacov profile. The cause-factors of the floods and their process are studied closely as is the process of the flood itself. For the Kacov profile, the specific curve was calculated and the flood wave was described. Frequent floods of the Bečva River with increasingly more dramatic progress represent a growing threat to the region. The high cost of the solution is connected with it. This fact makes every reasonable individual think of how to prevent the floods or at least mitigate the effects on inhabitants´ lives, the regional economy and the natural environment. In 1997, there was almost no effective way to warn and protect inhabitants against the sudden arrival of flood waters. The absence of these measures kick-started changes in the field of crisis management. Although the floods of 2006 did not impact the area I am dealing with, they have definitely revealed the effectiveness and the positive trends of safety measures in population protection development. More dramatic flooding of the Becva River in 2010, tested the preparedness of not only the flood authorities, IZS (Emergency and Rescue Services), but practically all the region's inhabitants. The aim of this work is to discover if the 1997 floods started adequate flood control construction in the region, their current state and future plans. I would like to present and compare three of the most interesting studies concerning the Bečva river flood controls.

The bachelor's thesis is focused on issues regarding closed spaces during an intervention- reasons for their closing, setting of boundaries, marking, security and mode of an inner space. In the introductory part are stated most common reasons for the closing of spaces. Bachelor's thesis is divided into theoretical and explorative parts. In the theoretical part are selected and described some reasons for closing a space during an intervention. In the theoretical part of bachelor's thesis are briefly described 12 reasons for a space's closing. For each reason is stated a bried definition, what each problem involves and whom it imminently endangers. Next is described a space, which must be closed. How are set and marked its borders, so no damage or harm to intervening persons takes place, and who takes care of the security of these closed spaces. Borders always change according to the cause. In some cases is a closed space small. For example, during fires with small range. But in some cases must come to pass the closing of large areas, in which an emergency occurs. These areas are then divided into individual zones, according to where certain dangers occur, where are Emergency service's organs situated, and where is an area, where no unauthorized person may enter, 's outer border. Sometimes these zones must be furtherly divided into individual sections and sectors. In all of these areas have intervening organs given actions and tasks in advance. Due to that were for given advance emergencies worked out catalogue files of model actions of Emergency service's organs in the area during an intervention. In these model actions are described tasks, actions and what organs are present during an intervention. The goal of this work was to find out if organs of Emergency service and emergency management are sufficiently prepared for the closing spaces of described individual situations. In the explorative part was asked the question: "Are the organs of Emergency service and emergency management prepared and equipped for occuring emergencies?" This question was put to a chief of the station, commander of a "C" platoon of Fire department of South Bohemia local department Prachatice. Results of these interviews proved that members of Fire department of South Bohemia local department Prachatice are sufficiently prepared for interventions in individual cases, which are stated in the theoretical part of bachelor's thesis. In particular, these include sufficient theoretical training via a form of training courses, practice of usage of protective suits for specific emergencies and breathing techniques. There are also performed tactical drills for these individual events in accordance with plans of Fire department of South Bohemia. If it included an extensive leakage of dangerous substances, firefighters are prepared to set up individual zones in closed space, carry out the rescue of persons found in said space and take measures to prevent further leakage of dangerous substance. Due to the reason of limited material equipment and the amount of serving firefighters in one shift, it is needed to request from a foothold of Fire department of South Bohemia local department České Budějovice an unit with special equipment suited for leakage of dangerous substances through Operation and informational system of South Bohemia. Identical question was also put to a worker of emergency management of Municipalities with extended competence Vodňany. It was clear from the interview that this worker of emergency management of Municipalities with extended competence Vodňany is very well acquainted with the problem of described emergencies. He overlooks sufficient technical equipment, readiness and actualization of individual plans of MEC Vodňany. He also participated in preparation training Zone 2015. He was able to describe to me in detail how Municipalities with extended competence Vodňany proceeds during stated emergencies.

The aim of this thesis is to devise a method for objective classification of floodplain based on spatially accurate data from UAV that allows identification of the fundamental features of floodplain and channel arising from or affecting by the floods activities. Background research is focused on floodplain forming processes; types of flood on our territory and its geomorphological effects, as well as a brief description unmanned aerial vehicle and their applicability in natural science and the flood. Proposed method was carried out on the test section - a part of meander of Javoří stream in Šumava Mountain - then was tested on complex meander belt of the same stream. Proposed method is based on applicability of standard objective classification. Elementary products from photogrammetric analysis - 2D orthophoto and 3D digital surface model - are used as basic input data. Another aim of theses is to discuss applicability of this method for assessment of fluvial form, its limits and potential development. Today floods represent a threat to many urban areas. People have always preferred to construct homes along watercourses or near the sea, in lowland areas which are threatened by floods. Among these areas we can also find the south west part of Ljubljana, where a lot of people have settled since the middle of the last century. This area has always been at risk of flooding, but the people who settled there probably did not know that or just ignored that fact. Now the plan is to resolve this problem. There are plans to construct flood control reservoirs in municipalities Dobrova – Polhov Gradec and Horjul and to regulate river channels Mali graben and Mestna Gradašĉica, which will provide flood safety from floods which occur every 100 years or less. People of municipalities Dobrova – Polhov Gradec and Horjul strongly oppose the realization of the planned project and they are willing to take all the options available to prevent the construction of flood control reservoirs. The research work describes the planned project of constructing flood control reservoirs in municipalities Dobrova– Polhov Gradec and Horjul, including the reasons why the residents do not agree with realisation of this plan and how the residents of municipalities Dobrova – Polhov Gradec and Horjul are informed of the measures, which take place during and after a flood. In my research work I made an economic analysis which shows the influence of flood control. Poplave dan danes ogroţajo veliko urbaniziranih površin. Ljudje se ţe od nekdaj najraje naseljujemo v niţinskih predelih, ob vodotokih ali morjih. Zaradi tega je vedno veĉ prebivalstva na obmoĉjih, ki so poplavno ogroţena. Med temi obmoĉji najdemo tudi Viĉ in Kozarje v središĉu Slovenije. Na omenjenem obmoĉju se je od sredine prejšnjega stoletja naselilo veliko ljudi. To obmoĉje je ţe od nekdaj poplavno ogroţeno, vendar to pri naseljevanju ni bilo upoštevano, oziroma v ĉasu naseljevanja ljudje najverjetneje niso pomislili na nevarnost poplav. Sedaj je v naĉrtu rešiti to teţavo, naĉrtovana je izgradnja zadrţevalnikov poplavnih voda v obĉinah Dobrova – Polhov Gradec in Horjul ter ureditev Mestne Gradašĉice in Malega grabna, ki bi jugozahodnemu delu Ljubljane zagotovila poplavno varnost pred poplavnimi vodami s 100 letno povratno dobo in manj. Raziskali smo tudi izgradnjo razbremenilnika, ĉišĉenje struge malega grabna, zagotovitve treh premostitev ter vzpostavitev vodomernega sistema, ki bo vkljuĉeval videonadzor. Najprej smo raziskali poplavno obmoĉje za katerega smo se odloĉili (Viĉ) z opisom vseh treh najveĉjih poplav. Osredotoĉili smo se predvsem na vodogradbene protipoplavne ukrepe in preuĉili pet ukrepov, za konec pa predstavili še ukrepe, ki jih lahko za lastno varnost pri poplavi naredi vsak posameznik.

This bachelour thesis is focused on an affect of ponds during rainfall-runoff events. Distribution of the water is desribed and how it affects a landscape. It is also defined what hydrological cycle is, its division and description. The thesis also evaluates precipitation, more specifically it is focused on extreme rainfall, which causes floods. In the thesis is mentioned a history of formation of ponds for better understanding of this topic and its context. This part deals with basic features and function of ponds, where to properly place them and their technical specification. The second part of the thesis begins with description of retention (a retention space) and accumulation (an accumulation space) and continues with recommondations for elevating the retention space in ponds. Then the thesis is focused on factors that more or less affect water runoff from a watershed. The main part of the thesis deals with the impact of water tanks on the size and shape of the hydrograph in rainfall-runoff events and it vividly demonstrates the affects of the ponds whether positive or negative on various floods in history of the Czech Republic.

Runoff changes in areas differing in land-use in the blanice river basin - application of the deterministic modelThe aim of this article is to present partial results of more extensive research which is focused on using different methods for runoff computation in areas differing in land use. With the help of the deterministic lumped model HEC-HMS (Hydrologic Engineering Center - Hydrologic Modelling System) several simulations of r noff changes by different basin conditions were carried out. The Blanice River basin in the Šumava Mts. was chosen as an experimental catchment in its closure profile in Podedvory (gauge station, area 209.6 km2). For assessment of land cover changes impact on hydrological regime four scenarios were carried out - 10, 20, 50 and 100-year 1-day probability precipitation in combination with different initial conditions (soil saturation). These scenarios were applied to the stage of the land cover in the year 1992 and 2000 (based on the CORINE Landcover database). The method SCS CN (Soil Conservation Service Curve Number) was applied as the main model technique.

The thesis focuses on how floods were covered in Czech newspapers. The approach taken by two periodicals, Mladá Fronta (MF DNES) and Rudé Právo (Právo), was compared on five examples of actual floods that took place in the Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia between 1954 - 2002. Examined was how the manner in informing about natural disasters differs between the period prior to 1989 and after, and how developments in technology contributed to the visual aspects of reporting on these events.
