The common building material utilized throughout the ancient world was lime. However, the development of cement quelled its prominence. Although cement was proven to have numerous uses in the construction business, it was determined to be harmful when used as a repair material, especially for historic buildings. The main cause is that the strength and service life related properties of cement are incompatible with the substrate (ancient lime) and masonry units. Nano-silica (NS) is a well-known mineral admixture hence it is taken for analysis. The characterization of NS in lime mortar is studied. From the different historic sites, the mortar's physical properties are determined. After adding 2% NS, in the fly ash concrete the setting time reduced to 90 minutes and predominant, it is reasonable to take for granted that the carbonation reaction plays a key role in the mortar's strength. In this study identified as calcite is primarily composed of fly ash were less resistant to salt crystallization than mortars made of lime that had been substituted with GGBS. When NS was added to cement paste it increases flexural and compressive strength. In place of fly ash, GGBS produced a larger rate of decrease in the water absorption coefficient through capillarity, which is comparable to porosity. Self-Curing, Self-Compacting and Self-Healingconcrete are comparatively new field in construction industry and futuristic concrete. The composition and fresh properties of these concrete are different from the conventional concrete. Researchers are currentlyconcentrating to promote the different types of concrete basedon their analysis considering the sustainability criteria. In this scientometricanalysis,the research evolution of 50 years from 1974 to 2024 is taken into consideration. The contributions of 732 research papers are taken into account, in that nearly 500 papers are related to the proposed topic. The total number of authors contributing in this area isfound as around 2000. The international collaborationof the result outcome is found as 14.34%. For this scientometric analysis, more than 19742 references are taken from Scopus data. The average citation for this analysis is 7.601 and more. This reflects the importance of the scientometric analysis. The construction industry is booming day by day, and it is good for stakeholders like engineers, architects, contractors, material manufacturers, and suppliers. But it creates negative to environment. Globally, construction materials are responsible for 39% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Due to the emission of greenhouse gases, the change in climate, global warming, melting of glaciers, and rising sea level are the major issues related to the environment. 100% of this is harmful. In all the global-level meetings, one important parameter is being discussed: carbon-free earth and carbon credits. Carbon credit is either the prevention of carbon emissions or the reduction of carbon emissions. These carbon emissions in construction can be reduced with the help of carbon-free construction materials like bamboo, lime, biochar, ceramic powder, fly ash, crumb rubber, and recycled aggregates. Reducing and replacing conventional materials with these less carbon materials will control carbon emissions to a significant level. A lot of research is done in this area to initiate the reduction of carbon emissions. The cement blended with mineral admixture enhances the strength and serviceability properties of cement products. ASTM C311 specifies the method of predicting the Pozzolanic performance of mineral admixtures. According to the procedure, the crushing strength of 7 days and 28 days cured mortar cubes with 20% replacement level in Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) was calculated and correlate with the cement mortar cube strength for evaluating the action of selected mineral admixtures by strength activity index (SAI) method. In this investigation, two different novel mineral admixtures namely Granite slurry powder (GSP)and Septage ash (SA) were selected for testing the pozzolanic performance in addition to a regular supplementary cementitious material such as Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) for comparison purpose. According to ASTM C311, SAI threshold limit value for any mineral admixture was recommended as 75%. The results obtained from SAI calculations, GGBS had higher SAI and the novel admixture such as GSP is found satisfactory and SA is not suitable as pozzolanic material. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Project Management Information System (PMIS) is a digital platform for collecting various types of data, recording, storing, and disseminating it for various construction processes for the smooth functioning of a construction enterprise or project. In today's scenario, PMIS in the civil engineering industry is not widely known in India due to a lack of proper guidance, application methods, and knowledge about the advantages of effective management systems and control over a project, both in terms of personnel and material. PMIS in the construction industry can help in various ways, such as real-time tracking of a project, risk elimination, handling human resources, procurement, cost reduction, and maintaining the standard quality of a project in a given time period with a proportional cost index. In situ resource utilization (ISRU) turns out to bea requirement for long-term expeditions on the surfaces of other planets. Launch, shelters and landing sites, factories, and routes will be constructed with these resources. Furthermore, the circumstances on Moon and Mars cannot be compared to that on Earth. Hence, research to employ novel materials and methods or transform conventional construction strategies to acclimate to these severe circumstances is much required. With the ever-growing and continuous exponential rise in the population around the globe the necessity for infrastructure especially concrete structures like buildings both residential and commercial, irrigation structures, industries, express runways, etc., has increased multi-fold times. As a result of this and increased living standards, the usage of essential and new industrial goods has also increased which in turn leads to the higher production of industrial wastes. Hence the management of these wastes and mitigating the undesirable impact of cement concrete on the environment should be taken care of utmost importance. The replacement of cement with industrial wastes is a viable solution to achieve sustainability, minimize the ill effects on the environment and maximize the efficiency of management of these wastes. Various industrial wastes act as mineral admixtures that can be potential materials that can be as employed as substitutes for cement. The present study represents a critical review of the various industrial waste materials that can be used as mineral admixtures and can be incorporated instead of conventional cement along with their influence on fresh and hardened characteristics.
