Механохемијска активација стехиометријске смеше реактаната TiO2, SiO2 и CaCO3 показала се као веома успешна и једноставна метода за добијање сфена (CaTiSiO5). На основу мерења релативних густина свих синтерованих узорака установљено је да максималну густину од 93,9 % имају узорци који су активирани 30 минута и синтеровани на 1200 °С. Микроструктурном анализом, тј. анализом слика синтерованих узорака активираних 30 минута, које су добијене скенирајућом електронском микроскопијом, опажа се бимодална расподела величине зрна, са просечном величином од 3 μm, односно 5 μm. Ритвелдовом анализом је потврђено присуство сфена, који кристалише у просторној групи P21/a, као примарне кристалне фазе. Перовскит и коесит, јављају се као секундарне кристалне фазе на свим температурама. Квантитативном рендгенским анализом израчунат је удео присутних фаза и он износи: 93,3 % за сфен, 2,9 % за перовскит и 3,8 % за коесит. Механохемијском активацијом сфена и Cr(NO3)9H2O у стехиометријском односу прерачунатом у односу на формулу CaTi1−yCrySiO5, где је у = 0,0003, 0,0005, 0,0010, 0,0015, 0,0035 и 0,0050, добијени су чврсти раствори. Најбољи однос количине допанта и реемисије, као и јачине обојења има узорак CaTi0,999Cr0,001TiO5. Микроструктурном анализом механички активираних пигмената сфена CaTi1−yCrySiO5 допираних хромом опажа се унимодална расподела величине честица, са просечном величином зрна од око 1μm, која је пожељна за примену пигмената. Дифузно-рефлексиони спектри узорака CaTi1−yCrySiO5 cy показали широку траку са апсорпционим максимумом на 500 nm која се односи на присуство Cr4+ јона у октаедарској координацији. Трака на 570 nm се приписује 4A2g→4T1g(F) и 4A2g(F)→4T2g(F) електронском d-d прелазу Cr3+ у октаедарском окружењу. Спектралне карактеристике узорака допираних јонима хрома показују могућност њихове примене као браон пигмената..., Sphene (CaTiSiO5) was successfully obtained from a mixture of TiO2, SiO2 and CaCO3 using mehanochemical activation. This simple method proved to be suitable to get sphene ceramics. Theoretical density was calculated for each sample after sintering. It was shown that the highest density of 93.9 % have samples with grinding time of 30 min on 1200 °C. The microstructure analysis from scanning electron microscope images shows bimodal grain distribution. The average particle size estimated from SEM images is 3 μm and 5 μm. Rietveld refinement confirms that sphene crystallizes in space group P21/a аѕ a principle crystalline phase. The other two phases (perovskite and coesite) are present at all temperatures indicating its minor amounts. Quantitative analysis was calculated from the Rietveld refinement. Percentage of each phase is 93.3 % for sphene, 2.9 % for perovskite and 3.8 % for coesite. Ceramic pigments with the stoichiometry of sphene and different Cr(NO3)9H2O content (CaTi1−yCrySiO5, with y = 0.0003, 0.0005, 0.0010, 0.0015, 0.0035 and 0.0050) were successfully obtained using mechanochemical activation. The optimum pigment (best hue with lowest Cr content) is obtained with 0.1 % Cr, and the highest brown component is reached in the pigment corresponding to the formula CaTi0.999Cr0.001TiO5. The microstructure analysis from scanning electron microscope images shows unimodal grain distribution with the average particle size around 1 μm which is very desirable for the ceramic pigment application. The difussion-reflectance spectra of sphene show a broad band centered around 500 nm and can be explained by the presence of Cr4+. The d-d electron transitions of Cr4+ are hosted in distorted octahedral coordination. The band at 570 nm is attributed to the 4A2g→4T1g(F) and 4A2g(F)→4T2g(F) transitions of Cr3+ in octahedral sites. У оквиру ове докторске тезе, испитиване су оптималне методе за добијањенанопраха – калцијум манганског оксида допираног јонима гадолинијума. Циљистраживања је испитивање одговарајућих прекурсора који су подесни да седобију чисти нано прахови манганита са перовскитском структуром, као имонофазни чврсти раствори са перовскитском структуром. Као подесан методкоришћена је модификована глицин нитратна метода, а од прекурсора нитрати иацетати одговарајућих метала. Модификација глицин нитратне методе се односина делимичну замену нитрата ацетатима, чиме је ублажена бурност реакције.Испитан је различити однос прекурсора, који дају наночестичне прахове и имајумали губитак при реакцијама. Синтетисано је укупно четири нанопраха применоммодификоване глицин нитратне методе са следећим номиналним саставом:Ca0,95Gd0,05MnO3; Ca0,9Gd0,1MnO3; Ca0,85Gd0,15MnO3; Ca0,8Gd0,2MnO3. Добијенипрахови су даље калцинисани у температурном интервалу од 850 оС до 950 оС 10min. Температурни опсег у коме су посматрани калцинисани узорци, добијен јекоришћењем диференцијално термијске анализе (ДТА). Експериментално суодређене оптималне температуре синтеровања и налазе се у опсегу од 1350 до1450 оС.Методом рендгенске дифракционе анализе и Ритвелдовог структурногутачњавања извршена је структурна и микроструктурна карактеризацијаСа1-xGdxMnO3 (х = 0,05; 0,1; 0,15; 0,2) нанопрахова. На тај начин је утврђенмонофазан састав свих узорака, просторна група Pnma али и то, да су овиперовскити уградњом Gd3+ деформисани. Анализом параметара јединичне ћелијеустановљено је да повећање параметара и промена у просечним дужинама Mn─Овеза настаје услед повећања садржаја Gd у структури, редукцији Mn4+ до Mn3+ избог присуство ваканција..., In this thesis, examined the optimal method for obtaining nano powders -calcium manganese oxide doped with gadolinium ions. The aim of the research is toexamine the appropriate precursors that are suitable to obtain pure nano powders ofperovskite manganite structure, as well as single-phase solid solutions with a perovskitestructure. As a suitable method used is a modified glycine nitrate method, a precursornitrates and acetates of the respective metals. Modification of the procedure wasperformed by partial replacement of nitrates by acetates, in order to control the burn-upreaction. Examined the relationship of various precursors, which give nanosizedpowders have a small loss in reactions. Synthesized four nanopowders using modifiedglycine nitrate procedure with the following nominal composition: Ca0.95Gd0.05MnO3,Ca0.9Gd0.1MnO3, Ca0.85Gd0.15MnO3 and Ca0.8Gd0.2MnO3. The resulting powders werefurther calcined in the temperature range of 850 oC to 950 oC 10 min. The temperaturerange in which they were considered calcined samples, obtained using differentialthermal analysis (DTA). Experimentally determined optimal sintering temperature andthey are in the range of 1350 to 1450 oC.Structural and microstructural characterization of Ca1-xGdxMnO3 (x= 0.05; 0.1;0.15; 0.2) nanopowders were performed by XRPD diffraction tehnique and Rietveldrefinement. Monophase composition of all samples was revealed using XRPDdiffraction and Rietveld refinement, Pnma space group but this, that allperovskitephases are deformed as a result of doping with Gd3+. Unit cell parametersanalysis showed that the increase of unit cell parameters and changes in the averagelength Mn─O bonds comes from the increasing content of Gd in the structure, reductionof Mn4+ to Mn3+ and the presence of vacancies...

Sphene (CaTiSiO5), a calcium titanosilicate ceramic has been prepared from a powder mixture of CaCO3, TiO2 and SiO2 using vibro-milling for homogenization and activation of precursors. During the high-pressure and high-temperature synthesis (HPS) process at 4 GPa and 1,200 A degrees C, sphene undergoes into phase transition, from room-temperature phase P2(1) /a to high-temperature phase A2/a. Evidence of that structural phase transition is given in this paper using infrared, Raman spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction. Rietveld refinement was employed to get the structural information of the synthesized powder. The most important structural change due to phase transition, the disappearance of the characteristic out-of-center distortion of the Ti atom and moving to the center of octahedra, was confirmed. HPS is an effective method for producing full-dense ceramics without any additives. Reduction of particle size occurred during high-pressure compaction. Microstructure and particle size of both phases were analyzed by scanning electron microscopy.

Near-infrared (NIR) and mid-infrared (MIR) spectroscopy are irreplaceable methods for characterization of bentonites. The paper presents work on bentonites modified with inorganic Na+ and organic HDTMA(+) (hexaclecyltrimethylammonium) cations and treated by 1.5, 3, 4.5 and 6M H2SO4. The characterization was based on the assignment of the stretching (nu) and bending (delta) vibrations observed in the MIR region and the first overtone [2 nu(R-H)] and combination [nu(R-H)+delta(R-H)] modes of R-H groups (R=O, C) in the NIR region. NIR spectrum shows the characteristic OH and CH bonds for organomontmorillonite. The effect of larger alkylammonium cations on the vibrations of Si-O and OH bonds in montmorillonite layers is observed. A few key-bands in the NIR region show the change of water in the interlayer montmorillonite. The intensities of the overtone (7080 and 6840cm(-1)) and combination (5242cm(-1)) bands of H2O have considerably decreased as a result of hydrophobic character of the NaOM. Spectra of acid-treated samples show a gradual decrease in the intensities of the OH overtone (near 7100-7000cm(-1)) and combination bands (4600-4300cm(-1)) reflecting a fewer number of octahedral atoms. This paper also points out that ATR technique and the 2nd derivative spectrum enables much precise band assignment.

Bentonite samples from Petrovac and Aleksinac were treated with sulfuric acid of different molarities. Differences in structure and texture of the initial and modified bentonite were determined by chemical analysis and Xraypowder diffraction (XRPD), infra-red spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and physisorption nitrogen at -196°C. Sulfuric acid caused an exchange of Al3+, Fe3+ and Mg2+ with H+ ions which led to a modification of the smectite crystalline structure. The Mg and Fe substitution in the octahedral sheet promoted the dispersion of those layers and forming of amorphous silicon. The sequence according to which the cations left the octahedral sheets was as follows: Mg2+>Fe3+>Al3+. The sulfuric acid activated bentonites exhibiting a lower cation exchange capacity (CEC) and a change of specific surface area (SBET) from 6 to 387 for bentonite from Petrovac and from 44 to 1784 m2 g-1 for bentonite from Aleksinac, positioning them as an excellent absorber in wine technology and in the protection of soil and environment., Uzorci bentonita iz Petrovca i Aleksinca tretirani su različitim molaritetima sumporne kiseline. Promene u strukturi i teksturi polaznih i modifikovanih bentonita utvrđene su hemijskom i analizom rendgenske difrakcije praha X-zraka (XRPD), infra crvenom spektroskopijom (FTIR), skening elektronskom mikroskopijom (SEM) i fizisorpcijom azota na -196°C. Dejstvo H2SO4 kiseline izazvalo je zamenu Al3+, Fe3+ i Mg2+ sa H+ jonima što je dovelo do modifikacije kristalne strukture smektita. Supstitucija Mg i Fe u oktaedarskom listu smektita promovisala je raspuštanje tih slojeva i formiranje silikatne faze. Redosled kojim su ovi katjoni napuštali oktaedarske listove bio je sledeći: Mg2+>Fe3+>Al3+. Sumpornom kiselinom aktivirani bentoniti pokazali su niži kapacitet katjonske izmene (CEC) i promenu specifične površine (SBET), od 6 na 387 kod bentonita Petrovca i od 44 na 1784 m2 g-1 kod bentonita Aleksinca, što ih svrstava u odlične absorbente u tehnologiji vina, zaštiti zemljišta i životne sredine.
