Abstract

Bivalve mollusk production represents the principal aquaculture activity in Sardinia (40°03′ N, 9°05′ E). In 2021, 859 water samples and 1270 mollusk samples were analyzed. The species Alexandrium minutum caused the accumulation of Paralytic Shellfish Toxins (PST) in three samples of bivalve mollusks. Dinophysis acuminata complex caused the accumulation of lipophilic toxins (LTs) belonging to the okadaic acid group (OAs) in 18 samples of bivalve mollusks. The research of paralytic shellfish toxins (PSTs) in shellfish samples has been carried out with LC-FLD, as mentioned in the AOAC 2005 Official Method 2005.06. The determination of LTs was carried out by LC-MS/MS analysis. DTX2, belonging to the group of OA toxins, was detected for the first time in Sardinia, in mussels sampled in Tortolì. The presence of Dinophysis and Prorocentrum species was correlated with the accumulation of the OA toxin group in bivalve mollusks, showing a certain repeatability at certain times of the year in the areas included in the study. 14. Survival of Naturally Contaminating Listeria monocytogenesin Commercial Mediterranean-Style Dry Fermented Sausages during Storage

Abstract

The aim of the present study was the determination of Listeria monocytogenes,competitive microbiota, microbial hygiene indicators, and physicochemical parameters in the typical Mediterranean-style fermented sausages Salsiccia Sarda. A batch of Salsiccia Sarda(25 samples) naturally contaminated by L. monocytogenesand vacuum packaged after 24 days of ripening was included in the study. Fifteen samples stored at 8°C were analyzed after 13 days, after 90 days, and at the end of shelf life (after 180 days from vacuum packaging). Ten vacuum-packaged samples were stored at 12°C in a domestic fridge simulating temperature abuse and were evaluated at the end of the shelf life. Samples were subjected to physicochemical analysis (pH and water activity) and investigated for the presence and enumeration of L. monocytogenes. Competitive microbiota, lactic acid bacteria, coagulase-negative staphylococci, and microbial hygiene indicators (total mesophilic bacterial counts, Enterobacteriaceae, Enterococcussspp., and Staphylococcus aureus) were determined in all the samples. Although a decreasing trend in L. monocytogenesprevalence was observed through the shelf life, the detection of this pathogen in fermented sausages confirms its ability to overcome hurdles of the manufacturing process. The results highlight the importance of the careful evaluation of the Salsiccia Sardaproduction process by food business operators to maintain unfavorable conditions for the growth of L. monocytogenes.

Abstract

In the present study, we investigated the presence, seasonal distribution, and biomolecular characteristics of Vibrio parahaemolyticusand Vibrio vulnificusin samples of bivalve mollusks (Mytilus galloprovincialis, Crassostrea gigas,and Ruditapes decussatus) harvested and marketed in Sardinia (Italy) between 2017 and 2018. A total of 435 samples were submitted for qualitative determination of Vibriospp., V. parahaemolyticus,and V. vulnificus. Potentially enteropathogenic isolates were detected with biomolecular methods. The overall prevalence of Vibriospp. was 7.6%. The highest Vibrioprevalence was found in R. decussatus(8.3%). The prevalences of V. parahaemolyticusand V. vulnificuswere 2.7 and 4.8%, respectively. Higher prevalences of V. parahaemolyticusand V. vulnificuswere found in R. decussatus(4.2%) and C. gigas(6.2%), respectively. Only two pathogenic V. parahaemolyticusstrains were recovered (genotypes: tdh− and trh+; tdh+ and trh−), both from M. galloprovincialis. None of the isolates were tdh+ and trh+. Pathogenic Vibrioinfections are often underestimated, and human infections are increasing in Europe. European data on the true distribution of Vibrionaceaeare scarce, and the results of the present study highlight the need of constant monitoring to update the distribution of pathogenic vibrios.

Webpräsenzen bilden bislang keinen eigens anerkannten Schutzgegenstand unserer Rechtsordnung. Um diese vermeintliche Schutzlücke zu schließen, wurde das virtuelle Hausrecht herangezogen. In einer Parallele zum Hausrechtsinhaber in der physischen Welt soll dem Webpräsenzbetreiber ein originäres Schutzrecht gegenüber den Nutzern seiner Webpräsenz in Form eines virtuellen Hausrechts zur Verfügung stehen.Gabriella Piras erörtert mögliche dogmatische Begründungen für die Übertragung des im Sachenrecht verwurzelten Hausrechts auf den virtuellen Raum, die sie im Ergebnis ablehnt. Außerdem kritisiert sie, dass es einer Neuequilibrierung des Spannungsverhältnisses zwischen Webpräsenzbetreiber und Nutzern durch die Anerkennung eines virtuellen Hausrechts nicht bedarf, und dies vielmehr einen Versuch der Beschränkung der Internetfreiheit der Nutzer darstellt.
