In this study, the partially sulfidized Ni-Co/reduced graphene oxide (NCS/NC/RGO) hybrid was developed as a supercapacitor electrode material. Because Ni-Co sulfide (NCS) possessed good pseudocapacitor property and non-sulfidized Ni-Co (NC) alloy had high conductivity, we attempted to optimize the electrochemical performance of NCS/NC/RGO hybrid by controlling the sulfidation of NC/RGO hybrid. RGO was incorporated as a substrate to help the dispersion of NCS/NC nanoparticles and contribute some capacitance. It was demonstrated that an appropriate sulfidation of NC/RGO hybrid could lead to the highest capacitance effectively. Moreover, the optimal NCS/NC/RGO hybrid also exhibited good stability. The result revealed that the strategy to optimize the capacitor performance of NCS/NC/RGO hybrid via the controlled sulfidation of NC/RGO hybrid was indeed effective.

Becker's Nevus (BN) is a benign hamartoma with an esthetically troublesome condition secondary to hyperpigmentation and hypertrichosis. Many treatment modalities have been utilized with variable outcomes.To evaluate the efficacy and safety of intense pulsed light (IPL) in the treatment of BN.IPL was used at filter of 590 nm, fluence of 18-22 J/cmTwenty-four patients (9 females, 15 males) with BN (16 hypertrichotic, 8 atrichotic) completed the study. The mean number of treatment sessions was 5 ± 2.17. The improvement in atrichotic BN group (4.87 ± 0.35) was significantly greater than that observed in hypertrichotic BN group (3.63 ± 0.89) (IPL is an effective and well-tolerated treatment option for patients with hypertrichotic and atrichotic BN.

The Cu nanoparticles/reduced graphene oxide (Cu/rGO) nanocomposite was fabricated by the hydrazine reduction of copper ions and graphene oxide in ethylene glycol. It exhibited good catalytic activity for the reduction of 4-nitrophenol due to the large specific surface area and adsorption-induced synergistic effect of rGO. Furthermore, under near-infrared (NIR) irradiation, the reduction rate was significantly enhanced because of the excellent NIR photothermal conversion property of rGO which resulted in the heating of local environment around Cu nanoparticles. This work is helpful for the development of NIR or solar photothermally enhanced catalytic systems.

Background Tuberous sclerosis is an autosomal dominant disorder with hamartomas in multiple organ systems. Facial angiofibromas (AF) are a common cutaneous manifestation of tuberous sclerosis. They may lead to significant cosmetic and psychological problems. Many treatment modalities have been used with variable satisfaction. Fractional photothermolysis (FP) is a novel concept of laser therapy, which induces non-contiguous microscopic thermal injury. Objective This study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and side effects of Nd:YAG laser treatment for facial AF by using spot-like irradiation technique similar to FP. Materials and methods Twelve patients (skin types III–IV, aged 17–45 years) with facial AF received monthly treatment with Nd:YAG laser in a pinpoint coagulation fashion. Clinical improvements were evaluated in five categories. Side effects were monitored at each follow-up visit. Results Excellent improvement was seen in 10 patients and good improvement in two at one month after the final treatment session. After 12 months of follow-up, no patient had significant recurrence of AF. Five patients were followed up for three years with few pinpoint-sized regrowth occurring; none of these patients received additional treatments. Side effects included transient erythema and edema in each patient but no bleeding, infection, dyspigmentation, or scarring. Conclusions The present study indicates that Nd:YAG laser is an effective and safe management for the fractional treatment of facial AF.

The effects of remote NH3 plasma treatment on a Pt/Gd x O y /W resistive random access memory (RRAM) metal–insulator–metal (MIM) structure were investigated. We found that a decrease in the electron barrier height caused by nitrogen incorporation at the Pt–Gd x O y interface can help reduce the operational set and reset voltages. Nitrogen atoms from the NH3 plasma prevent oxygen atoms in the film from diffusing through Pt grain boundaries into the atmosphere, resulting in superior retention properties (>104 s). The stability of the endurance behavior of Gd x O y RRAMs was significantly improved owing to the passivation of defects in Gd x O y films by nitrogen and hydrogen atoms from the remote NH3 plasma, markedly reducing plasma damage.
