The purpose of this manuscript is to inform the reader of the new Physical Best Health-related fitness education resource material. Workshops are currently conducted across the country certifying individuals as Physical Best Specialists or Physical Best Instructors. Contact the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance for information on hosting a workshop in your district. Extensive changes have been made in fitness education and the promotion of lifelong physical activity. We have a responsibility to motivate children to maintain a physically active lifestyle and attain a fitness level sufficient to promote positive health. Professionals can use the Physical Best program to increase physical activity in the classroom. Challenge your students by teaching activities that simultaneously allow for low, medium and high fitness levels. Physical Best also addresses individuals with disabilities using inclusion and modification of games for all abilities. A key element in the Physical Best philosophy is recognition that physical education is a comprehensive program, and fitness is only one aspect. Integrating skill-related fitness into classroom activities is also important.
