Abstract

We apply an idea of Levin to obtain a non-truncated second main theorem for non-Archimedean analytic maps approximating algebraic hypersurfaces in subgeneral position. 4. Non-Archimedean second main theorem sharing small functions

Abstract

In this paper, we establish a new second main theorem for meromorphic functions on a non-Archimedean field and small functions with counting functions truncated to level $1.$ As an application, we show that two meromorphic functions on a non-Archimedean field must coincide to each other if they share $q\, (q\geq 5)$ distinct small functions ignoring multiplicities. In particular, if two non-Archimedean meromorphic functions share $5$ small functions ignoring multiplicities, they must be identical. Thus, our work improves the results in \cite{EY}.

5. A note on Hayman's conjecture

Abstract

In this paper, we will give suitable conditions on differential polynomials $Q(f)$ such that they take every finite non-zero value infinitely often, where $f$ is a meromorphic function in complex plane. These results are related to Problem 1.19 and Problem 1.20 in a book of Hayman and Lingham \cite{HL}. As consequences, we give a new proof of the Hayman conjecture. Moreover, our results allow differential polynomials $Q(f)$ to have some terms of any degree of $f$ and also the hypothesis $n>k$ in \cite[Theorem 2]{BE} is replaced by $n\ge 2$ in our result.

Abstract

In this paper, we will consider normality and uniqueness property of a family $\mathcal{F}$ of meromorphic functions when $[Q(f)]^{(k)}$ and $[Q(g)]^{(k)}$ share $\alpha$ ignoring multiplicities, for any $f,g\in \mathcal{F}$, where $Q$ is a polynomial and $\alpha $ is a small function. Our results do not need all of zeros of $Q$ have large order as other authors's results.

Abstract

The seemingly advantageous features of carbon‐based materials, such as large pore volume and lightweight structure, could actually lead to low tap density for the sulfur cathode and excessive electrolyte consumption, potentially significantly decreasing the energy density of lithium–sulfur battery. Recently, non‐carbon‐based materials composed of inorganic matter have emerged as promising candidates for creating dense sulfur cathodes and reducing electrolyte intake. Additionally, inorganic matter exhibits strong interactions with lithium polysulfides, which can address the intrinsic problems of the severe shuttling effect and poor reaction kinetics. In this review, we first discuss the relationship between the tap density of the sulfur cathode and the energy density of lithium–sulfur battery. Subsequently, we systematically summarize recent advances in non‐carbon‐based materials as sulfur hosts. Finally, we propose future research directions and perspectives for sulfur host materials to inspire the realization of practical lithium–sulfur battery with high energy density. Abstract

Normal porous concrete is a special type of concrete with high porosity, allowing water to percolate into the sub-grade, but using Portland cement. On the other hand, geopolymer concrete is an environmentally friendly concrete using fly ash, blast furnace slag and kaolinite alkaline activator. This experimental study proposes a fabrication procedure to combine the two above-mentioned concrete types to produce a sustainable material – porous concrete made of fly ash-based geopolymer with alkaline activators. Various parameters affecting the compressive strength, such as aggregate size, the water-to- (fly ash and blast furnace slag) ratio, the concentration of alkaline activator have been studied, together with two major hydraulic properties such as water permeability and porosity. The results show that the porous geopolymer concrete usinglocal fly ash and blast furnace slag can achieve the compressive cube strength greater than 23MPa and the average values of water permeability are in the range of 6.4 to 17.8 mm/s depending on the mix design. Increasing coarse aggregate size increases the porosity and water permeability, however, lowers the compressive strength of porous geopolymer concrete. Increasing the activator-to-binder ratio, the compressive strength increases, not affecting the porosity and water permeability.

19. Exploring factors affecting high school teachers’ participation in professional development

Abstract

In the era of massive change in educational content and pedagogies, it is worth noting that teachers’ professional development (PD) plays a crucial role in determining the quality of educational system. Enhancing teacher quality through professional development activities should be a priority for any schools. This study examines factors that influence high school teachers’ participation in professional development (PD). 966 high school teachers took part in the survey. Results show that there are a number of factors influencing high school teachers’s participation in professional learning activities, namely (1) Content of PD, (2) Learning community, (3) Management and Leadership, (4) PD’s advantages, (5) teachers’ perception, (6) time and (7) finance. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was applied to figure out factors and their level of impact on high school teachers’ learning. Results can be used as foundation to propose solutions to encourage teachers participating in PD activities, with the aims at improving teacher quality in educational system.

20. Bước đầu đánh giá hiệu quả điều trị đau khớp gối do thoái hóa khớp gối bằng bài thuốc 'độc hoạt tang ký sinh', điện châm kết hợp với chườm thảo dược

Abstract

TÓM TẮT Đặt vấn đề: Thoái hóa khớp gối (THKG) là một bệnh hay gặp ở lứa tuổi lao động, từ 40 tuổi trở lên, tăng dần theo lứa tuổi. Thoái hóa khớp gối không chỉ ảnh hưởng đến sức khỏe người bệnh mà còn ảnh hưởng đến chất lượng cuộc sống của bệnh nhân. Chườm thảo dược là một phương pháp được phát triển dựa trên phương pháp chườm nóng có từ xưa của y học cổ truyền, nhiệt độ nóng kết hợp tác dụng của thảo dược làm tăng cường chuyển hoá tại chỗ. Từ đó, cảm giác đau sẽ bị ức chế, hệ mô cơ sẽ được kích thích để thư giãn và chữa lành. Điện châm tạo ra các xung điện có tác dụng giúp giảm đau, tăng cường tuần hoàn được kết hợp với bài thuốc cổ phương Độc hoạt tang ký sinh có tác dụng khu phong tán hàn trừ thấp chỉ thống, bổ khí huyết, ích Can Thận. Sử dụng bài thuốc “Độc hoạt tang ký sinh”, điện châm kết hợp với chườm thảo dược mang lại hiệu quả cao trên lâm sàng. Mục tiêu: Đánh giá hiệu quả điều trị thoái hóa khớp gối bằng bài thuốc “Độc hoạt tang ký sinh”, điện châm kết hợp với chườm thảo dược. Đối tượng, phương pháp nghiên cứu: gồm 48 bệnh nhân được chẩn đoán thoái hóa khớp gối nguyên phát được điều trị tại Bệnh viện Y học cổ truyền Thừa Thiên Huế. Nghiên cứu được thiết kế theo phương pháp nghiên cứu tiến cứu, đánh giá hiệu quả trước và sau điều trị. Kết quả: Sau điều trị tỷ lệ bệnh nhân đạt kết quả tốt chiếm 68,75%, khá chiếm 29,17%. Có sự khác biệt có ý nghĩa thống kê trước và sau điều trị. Trong quá trình điều trị không có tác dụng không mong muốn trên lâm sàng. Kết luận: Điều trị thoái hóa khớp gối bằng bài thuốc “Độc hoạt tang ký sinh”, điện châm kết hợp với chườm thảo dược mang lại hiệu quả cao trên lâm sàng. ABSTRACT THE INITIAL EFFICIENCY EVALUATION BY USING “DOC HOAT TANG KY SINH” REMEDY, ELECTROACUPUNCTURE COMBINED WITH HERBAL COMPRESS METHOD IN THE TREATMENT OF KNEE PAIN DUE TO KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS Background: Knee osteoarthritis is a common disease in the working age group, aged 40 years and older, increasing with age. Knee osteoarthritis not only affects the health of the patients but also affects their quality of life. Herbal compress method is a ancient method based on heating compress method originated from traditional medicine, high temperature of the hot combine with herbal compress speed up the metabolism of the damaged zone. Based on that, the method could also inhibit the sensation of pain, excite, relax and treat the muscle tissue. Electroacupuncture generating electrical impulses has the effect of relieving pain, improving circulation, combined with “Doc hoat tang ky sinh” remedy having the effect of expelling wind, scattering cold, eliminating dampness, stopping pain, tonifying the Qi and Blood, and strengthening the Liver and Kidney. Using “Doc hoat tang ky sinh” remedy, electroacupuncture combined with herbal compress method bring high clinical efficiency. Objectives: Evaluate the effectiveness of treating knee pain due to knee osteoarthritis by the remedy “Doc hoat tang ky sinh”, acupuncture combined with herbal compress method. Methods: Including 48 patients diagnosed with knee pain due to knee osteoarthritis treated at Thua Thien Hue Traditional Medicine Hospital. The study was designed by prospective study, clinical evaluation before and after the treatment. Results: Good level occupied 68,75%; fair good level occupied 29,17%. During the treatment there were no clinically significant side effects. Conclusion: The treatment of knee pain due to knee osteoarthritis degeneration by “Doc hoat tang ky sinh” remedy, electroacupuncture combined with Herbal compress metho dresults in high clinical effectiveness. Abstract

Landslides are considered to be a significant risk to life and property all over the world in general and in Vietnam in particular. Spatial prediction of landslides is required to reduce the landslides risk and to plan the development of hilly areas. In this regard, the accurate landslide susceptibility maps are very useful tool for decision-makers to identify areas where new landslides are likely to occur for planning timely adequate remedial measures. For the development of landslide susceptibility maps, seven hybrid models were developed namely AdaBoost-LMT (ABLMT), bagging-LMT (BLMT), cascade generalization-LMT (CGLMT), dagging-LMT (DLMT), MultiBoostAB-LMT (MBLMT), rotation forest-LMT (RFLMT) and random sub-space-LMT (RSSLMT) with logistic model trees (LMTs) as a base classifier. The model's performance and validation were assessed through various statistical indices, such as sensitivity (SST), specificity (SPF), accuracy (ACC), area under ROC curve (AUC), RMSE and k index. The results show that all these models are performing well for the prediction of landslide susceptibility in the study area, but the performance of the RSSLMT model is the best (AUC: 0.816). In this study, open-source data has been used for the development of landslide susceptibility maps Along National Highway-6, passing through Hoa Binh province, Vietnam. These approaches can be applied also in other hilly regions of the world which are susceptible to landslides for better landslides prevention and management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

27. Expression of SUMOand NF-κBgenes in hepatitis B virus-associated hepatocellular carcinoma patients: An observational study

Abstract

Alterations in signaling pathways and modulation of cell metabolism are associated with the pathogenesis of cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) proteins and NF-κB family play major roles in various cellular processes. The current study aims to determine the expression profile of SUMOand NF-κBgenes in HCC tumors and investigate their association with the clinical outcome of HCC. The expression of 5 genes – SUMO1, SUMO2, SUMO3, NF-κB p65, and NF-κB p50 –was quantified in tumor and adjacent non-tumor tissues of 58 HBV-related HCC patients by real-time quantitative PCR and was analyzed for the possible association with clinical parameters of HCC. The expression of SUMO2was significantly higher in HCC tumor tissues compared to the adjacent non-tumor tissues (P = .01), while no significant difference in SUMO1, SUMO3, NF-κB p65, and NF-κB p50expression was observed between HCC tumor and non-tumor tissues (P > .05). In HCC tissues, a strong correlation was observed between the expression of SUMO2and NF-κB p50, between SUMO3and NF-κB p50, between SUMO3and NF-κB p65(Spearman rho = 0.83; 0.82; 0.772 respectively; P < .001). The expression of SUMO1, SUMO2, SUMO3, NF-κB p65, and NF-κB p50was decreased in grade 3 compared to grades 1 and 2 in HCC tumors according to the World Health Organization grades system. Our results highlighted that the SUMO2gene is upregulated in tumor tissues of patients with HCC, and is related to the development of HCC, thus it may be associated with the pathogenesis of HCC.
