- Abstract
The impact of electric energy transfers from power plants generation to substations then to consumers and its own environment is tremendous. Among various hazards, the overhead wires associated with power lines are the most fatal hazard to birds. The power lines and poles have caused fatal risks for birds and have affected their habitats significantly. Dangerous types of power poles in the middle voltage lines which have small distances between the lines and short insulators cause short-circuits between conductor wires or ground-faults. This paper presents a survey conducted in Multan city, Pakistan. In this survey, all 132kV high voltage grids and their 11kV outgoing feeders are observed and their locations are also marked on Google map. This survey includes current construction type of power lines and poles, principles for bird safety, photographic records, public views about deadly poles and Ultraviolet vision in Birds. This study also highlights the cause of bird casualties on high and large scale from overhead power lines. It presents different technical solutions for bird safety such as proper adjustments to the routing of the power lines and power pole constructions can effectively reduce the risks posed to birds. Detailed study is recommended on large scale; so that conservation measures can be suggested for reduction of losses on birds by power stations in Pakistan. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

ORCHIDS - Abstract
We document the presence of Dressleria dodsoniana and Galeandra minax in Caquetá, Colombia, based on two populations found in the eastern slope of the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes and in the Andean-Amazonian Piedmont, respectively. These species were previously reported in the country through printed documents and databases, but without herbarium specimens mentioned, with photographic records being the only evidence for their record. Our reports emphasize the need to confirm the identity and occurrence of the species by including botanical collections in herbaria. Both species are categorized as Critically Endangered (CR) in Colombia, primarily due to habitat deterioration and the knowledge of a single recorded population. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The authors present a comprehensive catalogue of 112 known photographs of the Thylacine or Tasmanian tiger (Thylacinus cynocephalus), both from zoological collections and the small number of images that were taken in the wild. Throughout the literature, numerous inaccuracies relating to the provenance of the photographs have entered into publication. These errors often go unchallenged and are blindly replicated in subsequent publications as truths. The perpetuation of such errors can only frustrate or complicate future research effort into the species, hence the need for a reliable reference. This paper provides a summary of the work involved in developing the catalogue, together with a synopsis of the findings. The catalogue has been named the Thylacine Image Registry [TIR], and is published here for the first time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The Eurasian Otter Lutra lutra is an elusive, solitary animal that has one of the widest distributions of all palearctic mammals. Once widely distributed in Asia, the Eurasian Otter population is now vulnerable to urbanization, pollution, poaching, and dam construction. Eurasian Otter distribution in the Indian Himalayan rivers is little explored, and information from this high-altitude riverine ecosystem is sparse. This publication reports a rare photographic record of the Eurasian Otter which confirms its presence in the high-altitude temperate forest of the Upper Bhagirathi Basin, western Himalayan region. The otter was recorded during investigations of terrestrial and aquatic fauna in the Bhagirathi Basin (7,586 km2, 500–5,000 m) of Uttarakhand State, India from October 2015 to May 2019. Among aquatic fauna, Brown Trout were found to be abundant in high altitude river stretches, with a catch per unit effort of 1.02 kg h–1. Additionally, 26 families of freshwater macroinvertebrates underscored a rich diet available for the Brown Trout, which in turn is a potential food source for the otters. The riverine ecosystem is undergoing dramatic changes because of the increasing demand for hydropower plants in the Bhagirathi Basin. Although mitigation measures are currently in place for fish, the presence of otters further necessitates the need for targeted management for high-altitude Himalayan rivers. There is an imperative need for intensive otter surveys using methods such as camera traps in riparian habitats along the Bhagirathi River and its tributaries.

This article presents a novel methodology for retrieving three-dimensional geometry from structures that exist only within the historical photographic record. Two shipwrecks that were raised in the early twentieth century are examined as case studies for this methodology. This paper explores the complications of using historical photographs in photogrammetric analysis and demonstrates how the shipwreck point clouds were generated using the iWitness program. In addition, it documents how photogrammetric hull data from historical photographs were scale constrained (using surviving artifacts) and used for the first time to create ship lines for academic study. A test was also conducted to demonstrate the potential accuracy of the photogrammetry program and methodology as a whole. Although the present study uses two raised shipwrecks as case studies, this methodology could easily be applied to other structures that have been “lost.”

Visual pollution is a phenomenon that should be discussed, as it directly affects the quality of life of citizens, the landscape and urban memory. The objective of the research was to map the visual pollution in urban spaces in Palmas-TO and compare it with the existing visual pollution in 2010 and 2021. The study was carried out through a photographic record of advertising pieces present in the 10 blocks of the symbolic center, in locations with a higher concentration of external media. The results show that wooden and metal billboards, small signs and banners were removed. In some places where the government managed to remove the billboards, the private sector incorporated advertising into its building structure. Ad-free metal billboards remain an unresolved issue in the city. No digital panels were found in the monitored locations. Over the 11 years of comparison, greater inspection by public bodies was observed. Public managers and civil society are encouraged to continuously monitor visual pollution. Researchers are encouraged to carry out studies that consider the influence of visual pollution on the occurrence of traffic accidents. The study allowed a reflection on the recent historical context of the city of Palmas-TO.

Few rock art studies include the state of alteration analysis. This paper proposes a digital non-invasive comprehensive methodology for assessing the state of alteration of rock art. We used a detailed photographic record for making alteration maps, 2D/3D models, micro-topographic reconstructions, weathering models by zones, and the characterization and prevision of weathering progression processes. We applied DStretch plugin to identify pictograms and rock weathering. With two examples, we propose five basic steps: (1) spatial location of the shelters in their geological context; (2) general record in its geomorphological/environmental contexts; (3) systematic record of the cavities through passive sensors and 3D reconstruction; (4) assessment of the active and non-active degradative processes to gain a dynamic perception of the processes involved in the shelter formation and its evolution up to the present; (5) analysis of single motifs and/or panels to assess the weathering state, propose mitigation measures for preventing further deterioration and facilitating long-term conservation.

Abstract Ethnobotanical studies make it possible to understand the way people relate to plants based on popular knowledge passed from generation to generation. The objective of this study was to perform an ethnobotanical survey of medicinal plants cultivated in the urban backyards of “Pastoral da Saúde” (Health Pastoral) agents, in Orleans municipality, Santa Catarina state, Brazil. A semi-structured interview was used, with application of a questionnaire, complemented with guided tour and photographic record for information validation. Nineteen informants were interviewed. The ethnobotanical survey recorded 85 species belonging to 72 genera and 39 botanical families. The most representative families were Lamiaceae 13 species) and Asteraceae (10 species). The most used pharmacogen was leaf. The most commonly mentioned pharmaceutical forms of use were infusion (50,6%) and decocted (49,4%). The state and form of use of the pharmacogen used were fresh and internal, respectively. The prevailing therapeutic indications were diseases related to the nutritional and metabolic problems, blood and hematopoietic organs and respiratory system. The plants’ origin was mostly exotic. However, some native species have already been domesticated which may include plants in small-scale cultivation in the near future. The reported time of use was over 50 years, with transmission being transgenerational, which meets ANVISA’s criteria for registration, based on traditional use higher to 30 years. This study reflects the rooted cultural and environmental context of a local community, revealing the importance of backyards as a social form and that can contribute to the urban spaces maintenance, through the popular knowledge registration. Keywords: Urban Ethnobotany. Health Pastoral. Folk and Scientific Knowledgment.

Mercado municipal. Araguaína. THE MUNICIPAL MARKET OF ARAGUAÍNA/TO AS A FOOD DRIVER IN THE CERRADO ABSTRACT This study aimed to understand the importance of the Municipal Market of Araguaína/TO as a propellant of food in the cerrado, generating food and nutritional security for marketers and consumers, since self-consumption and then commercialization take place, guaranteeing income and sustenance for the families. The design used was the case study. Semi-structured questionnaires were applied to market vendors in the Municipal Market, from September to November 2019, in addition to a survey of bibliographic material and photographic record. The results show that there were several conflicts between marketers and traders for subsequent implementation by the public authorities of the Araguaína Municipal Market, which happened in 1978, thus guaranteeing social inclusion and income, strengthening the productive chain of cerrado fruits, in addition to promoting food security between marketers and local consumers. However, these foods are threatened by the advance of soy and livestock over the cerrado biome, compromising the diversity of products offered by market vendors in the Municipal Market in Araguaína.

The aim of this paper is to characterize the relevance of exposed writings in the process of reconstruction after a catastrophic event, with special emphasis on two fundamental dimensions in the production of the territory: i) its incidence in the material and symbolic delimitation of space; ii) and its relevance in the demarcation of social relations with other inhabitants. A typology of four kinds of exposed writings is proposed to account for its impact on both dimensions (delimitation of space and demarcation of social relations): Marking and delimitation writings, organization writings, contestation writings, and restitution writings. Without pretending to be exhaustive, this typology seeks to provide analytical guidelines to understand the role played by exposed writings in post-disaster reconstruction processes. This paper relies on the theoretical perspective of catastrophe writings in a corpus of field notes generated during more than a year of observation in the field, interviews, walking interviews, and photographic record of different forms of exposed writings between April 2015 and November 2016 in the city of Valparaiso.

It is known that the cranial cruciate legament is one of the main stabilizers of the knee, and problems in it can bring complications to the animal, including the rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament, which is classified as one of the biggest diseases in the pelvic limbs in dogs. Its diagnosis is made through a thorough consultation and, during the physical exam, the drawer and tibial compression tests. However, as a confirmatory diagnosis, complementary imaging exams are used for a better visualization of suspicious problems. Conservative and surgical treatments are included in its treatment, where the surgical ones include extracapsular, intracapsular, and corrective osteotomies, the latter being the most modern and safest in terms of possible relapse and future joint degeneration, because they are procedures that modify the bone anatomy, restoring stability and returning function to the limb; however, the choice of treatment is always made individually for each patient. Thus, the present study aims to report the case of a patient with rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament and the TPLO surgical technique as a solution, in order to contribute to advances in the field of orthopedics. The information was obtained through follow-up and review of the patient's medical record, photographic record of the exams for which the patient was submitted, and literature review in articles on the Scielo and Google Academic platforms.

A review of the literature at large and the field photographic record of the senior author of this study indicate that there are several undescribed species of Aristolochia in Hispaniola (Dominican Republic and Haiti), related to A. bilobata. Here we show that A. mirandae is a synonym of A. bilobata and that what appears as A. bilobata in Marión H. (2011: 76–77) is a new species here described as Aristolochia adiastola. In addition, two new species, A. bonettiana and A. marioniana, also related to A. bilobata, are described and illustrated herein.
