Environmental contamination by plastic is a worldwide problem. In the environment, plastic degradation is the result of physical, chemical and biological reactions. The latter pathway is thought to be primarily carried out by microorganisms, in particular bacteria. However, recent research studies have highlighted the plastic degradation potential of marine fungi (i.e. Zalerion maritimum and Alternaria alternata on polyethylene -PE-). This raises questions about the diversity, distribution and activity of fungal communities associated with marine plastic waste, as well as their potential to degrade polymers and the involved metabolic mechanisms. In the framework of the ANR project MycoPLAST, different types of plastics voluntarily immersed in seawater in coastal marine habitats were collected and analyzed using molecular and/or culturing approaches. We performed metabarcoding analyses of the mycobiome, targeting both the V4-V5 18S rRNA gene and the ITS2 region, to elucidate the fungal structure and composition. This also allows to incorporate the fungal kingdom to the concept of the "plastisphere" ecological niche, which is currently mainly dedicated to bacteria and protists. In parallel, using a culture-based approach, over 800 fungal isolates were obtained from marine plastic waste. An original laser nephelometry approach, dedicated to mid/high-throughput screening of fungal isolates was applied to assess their ability to use different kind of plastics (PE/PHBV/PS/PCL/PET/PVC) as unique carbon source. Overall, 11 fungal isolates (out of the 192 tested to this date) were of interest as they exhibited either broad (use of multiple polymers, 1 isolate) or limited (use of a single polymer, 10 isolates) spectra of utilization. Further studies will be performed to evaluate the actual biodegradation capacities of these isolates via ATR-IRTF and to decipher the metabolic pathways activated in these processes using stable isotope tagged polymers. Cet ouvrage, en rendant hommage aux travaux de Michel Margairaz, résulte d’un travail collectif d’historiens français et étrangers qui pensent et interrogent l’économie au prisme de l’histoire sociale et politique. Sont ainsi soulignées la variété, le dynamisme et la richesse des approches et des objets de cette discipline ainsi que l’évolution de ces pratiques. Le livre témoigne aussi de l’importance des relations construites entre les chercheurs tout au long d’une vie universitaire. Trois thèmes principaux structurent ce volume. Le premier s’articule autour des relations entre les finances, les banques et l’État; le second porte sur les politiques économiques de la Première Guerre mondiale à la fin du xxe siècle en France, en Italie et en Suède. Le troisième aborde les relations entre les organisations patronales et ouvrières et l’État. Chacun des trente-deux auteurs ont de ce fait analysé les politiques publiques en articulant l’économie, les institutions et le politique. Faire de l’histoire économique aujourd’hui suppose aussi de prendre en compte les évolutions que la discipline a connues depuis un demi-siècle. Michel Margairaz, dans ce qui n’est pas une postface nous dit-il, retrace cette histoire en insistant sur le fait qu’elle se situe au carrefour des sciences sociales en perpétuel renouvellement, en nouant de nouvelles alliances.

While he refused to negotiate with the state before the First World War, he developed the habit of collaborating with it during the conflict and continued to be one of its partners from then on. Faced with the workers' movement, he implemented a strategy of bypassing and passive defense which was only put on hold during the Popular Front when it found itself at the negotiating table. To achieve its ends, it defines means of action based on an argument, communication tools and a social network. lts activities ceased in November 1940 when it was dissolved by the Vichy regime along with the Committee of Forges., Le Comité central des Houillères de France (1887-1940), organisation patronale des mines de charbon, se fonde pour tenter de protéger les charbons français des étrangers sur le marché français, de répondre à un mouvement ouvrier en structuration et d'influencer l'élaboration de la législation sociale qui remet en cause l'indépendance des exploitants dans leurs affaires. Il a également pour vocation d'apporter un certain nombre de services à ses adhérents. Comme d'autres organisations patronales, il met en place une stratégie particulière à chaque acteur avec lequel il est en relation et qui évolue en fonction des périodes. Avec ses adhérents, il ne cesse d'adapter les services qu'il leur propose en fonction de leurs besoins. Alors qu'il refuse de négocier avec l'État avant la Première Guerre mondiale, il prend l'habitude de collaborer avec lui durant le conflit et ne cesse d'être l'un de ses partenaires à partir de ce moment-là. Face au mouvement ouvrier, il met en place une stratégie de contournement et de défense passive qui n'est mise entre parenthèse que durant le Front populaire quand il se retrouve à la table des négociations. Pour arriver à ses fins, il définit des moyens d'action fondés sur un argumentaire, des outils de communication et un réseau de sociabilité. Ses activités cessent en novembre 1940 lorsqu'il est dissout par le régime de Vichy au même titre que le Comité des Forges.
