The concentrations of lactate and IL-6 in the AKI and mortality groups were statistically significantly greater than those in the non-AKI and survival groups (p < 0.05). The serum sTM concentration was 4.33 ng/mL, the serum sTM level in the AKI group was statistically significantly higher than that in the non-AKI group (sTM [4.71 vs 2.54 ng/mL, p < 0.001]), and the serum sTM level in the mortality group was statistically significantly higher than the survival group (sTM [4.78 vs 3.87 ng/mL, p < 0.001]). The AUC of sTM for predicting AKI was 0.864; the AUCs of sTM, IL-6, SOFA, and APACHE II for predicting mortality were 0.811, 0.671, 0.816, and 0.705, respectively.Conclusion: AKI was a prevalent complication among sepsis patients at the ICU. In the AKI and mortality groups, sTM concentration was statistically significantly higher than that in the non-AKI and survival groups. sTM was the predictor of acute kidney injury and mortality in patients with sepsis.Keywords: thrombomodulin, sepsis, acute kidney injury

The average Sokolow-Lyon index in the preeclampsia group with and without severe signs was 22.25 ± 7.38mm, 20.16 ± 5.54mm, respectively. The average left ventricular mass index in the group of preeclampsia patients without and with severe signs was 92.27 ± 14.56g/m2 and 120.68 ± 16.47g/m2, respectively. The average ejection fraction in the group of preeclampsia patients without severe signs and with severe signs was 65.11 ± 3.45%, 56.21 ± 7.12%, correspondingly. In contrast, the difference between the two groups was statistically significant with p < 0.05. The plasma NT-proBNP level in the preeclampsia group without severe signs was 349.12 ± 93.51pg/mL, whereas the concentration in the preeclampsia group with severe signs was 725.32 ± 290.46pg/mL (p < 0.05).Conclusion: The NT-proBNP level was statistically significantly increased in the patients with preeclampsia. Analyzing and comparing the figures and changes found in two groups of PE patients, with and without severe signs, we suggest that women diagnosed with PE with severe signs have a higher risk of developing cardiovascular problems forthwith and henceforth.Keywords: preeclampsia, cardiovascular, NT-proBNP

Chlamydia protein associating with death domains ( Ct CADD) is involved in the biosynthesis of p -aminobenzoic acid (pABA) for integration into folate, a critical cofactor that is required for pathogenic survival. CADD activates dioxygen and utilizes its own tyrosine and lysine as synthons to furnish the carboxylate, carbon backbone, and amine group of pABA in a complex multistep mechanism. Unlike other members of the heme oxygenase-like dimetal oxidase (HDO) superfamily that typically house an Fe 2 cofactor, previous activity studies have shown that Ct CADD likely uses a heterobimetallic Fe/Mn center. The structure of the Fe 2+ /Mn 2+ cofactor and how the conserved HDO scaffold mediates metal selectivity have remained enigmatic. Adopting an in crystallo metalation approach, Ct CADD was solved in the apo, Fe 2+ 2 , Mn 2+ 2 , and catalytically active Fe 2+ /Mn 2+ forms to identify the probable site for Mn binding. The analysis of Ct CADD active-site variants further reinforces the importance of the secondary coordination sphere on cofactor preference for competent pABA formation. Rapid kinetic optical and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) studies show that the heterobimetallic cofactor selectively reacts with dioxygen and likely initiates pABA assembly through the formation of a transient tyrosine radical intermediate and a resultant heterobimetallic Mn 3+ /Fe 3+ cluster.

Chlamydia protein associating with death domains (CADD), the founding member of a recently discovered class of nonheme dimetal enzymes termed hemeoxygenase-like dimetaloxidases (HDOs), plays an indispensable role in pathogen survival. CADD orchestrates the biosynthesis of p -aminobenzoic acid ( p ABA) for integration into folate via the self-sacrificial excision of a protein-derived tyrosine (Tyr27) and several additional processing steps, the nature and timing of which have yet to be fully clarified. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and proteomics approaches reveal the source and probable timing of amine installation by a neighboring lysine (Lys152). Turnover studies using limiting O 2 have identified a para -aminobenzaldehyde (pABCHO) metabolic intermediate that is formed on the path to p ABA formation. The use of p ABCHO and other probe substrates shows that the heterobimetallic Fe/Mn form of the enzyme is capable of oxygen insertion to generate the pABA-carboxylate.

Introduction: Polysaccharide and alcohol extracts of Anoectochilus formosanus Hayata have attracted great attention as they exhibit noteworthy properties such as prebiotic and anti-hyperglycemic effects. However, the antioxidant and wound-healing activities of the polysaccharide extract as well as the antibacterial and cytotoxic effects of the ethanol extracts have not been thoroughly uncovered. Therefore, our study investigated these bioactivities of the two extracts prepared from Anoectochilus formosanus to broaden understandings of medical benefits of the plant., Methods: The monosaccharide composition was analyzed by HPAEC-PAD. The antioxidant and wound-healing activities of the polysaccharide extract were evaluated by ABTS and scratch assays, respectively. The broth dilution method was used to determine the antibacterial ability of the ethanol extract. Additionally, the cytotoxic and mechanistic effects of this extract against hepatocellular carcinoma HUH-7 cells was assessed by MTT assay, qRT-PCR and Western blotting methods., Results: The polysaccharide extract possessed an effective free radical scavenging ability in an ABTS assay (IC 50  = 44.92 μg/ml). The extract also ameliorated wound recovery in a fibroblast scratch assay. Meanwhile, the ethanol extract was able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus (MIC = 2500 μg/ml), Bacillus cereus ( MIC = 2500 μg/ml), Escherichia coli ( MIC = 2500 μg/ml), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MIC = 1250 μg/ml). Additionally, it repressed the viability of HUH-7 cells (IC 50  = 53.44 μg/ml), possibly through upregulating the expression of caspase 3 ( CASP3 ), CASP8 , and CASP9 at both mRNA and protein levels., Conclusion: The polysaccharide extract of A. formosanus exhibited the antioxidant and wound-healing properties whereas the ethanol extract showed the antibacterial activity and cytotoxicity against HUH-7 cells. Background: Thrombomodulin (TM) is a type-1 trans-membrane glycoprotein on endothelial cells which is known to be involved in various biochemical pathways. TM can be detected in biological fluids such as blood and urine under many forms. Soluble thrombomodulin (sTM), consist of various particles of TM, is the predominant agent which is created by enzymatic or chemical catalysis of the whole protein under divergent conditions. TM plays a vital role in protein C system and is crucial in the pathogenesis of Sepsis., Objective: To identify the serum level of soluble thrombomodulin (sTM) in groups of patients: sepsis and septic shock including their survival and fatal in-hospital outcome; and validate the death prediction of serum sTM in patients with sepsis., Methods: This prospective observational study was conducted in 63 patients who were diagnosed with sepsis, septic shock according to Sepsis 3 criteria at the ICU Department of Hue Central Hospital, Vietnam, from 3/2022 to 3/2023., Results: Twenty participants developed septic shock (31.7%), morality within 28-days was 19 patients (30.2%), 22 patients complicated with acute kidney injury that necessitated renal replacement therapy (34.9%), 30 patients required mechanical ventilation (47.6%), the median length of ICU stay was 8 (3-28) days. Serum level of lactate and creatinine were significantly higher in septic shock group compared with sepsis and survival group (p<0.05). The median sTM level in septic shock group and fatal group were 4.68(3.38-6.46) ng/mL and 4.68 (1.69-6.46) ng/mL, respectively. These results were significantly higher than sepsis group [3.62 (1.51-1.94) ng/mL] and survival group [3.73 (1.51-5.9) ng/mL] (p<0.05). The death predictive power of DIC score, APACHE II score, creatinine, sTM and SOFA presented with AUC values of 0.723, 0.726, 0.777, 0.803 and 0.807, respectively. There were no significant difference of serum level IL-6 and PCT between survival and fatal group. The median DIC score in fatal group was 7 (3-7), which was significantly higher than survival group 4 (2-7) (p= 0.001)., Conclusion: Sepsis is a common diagnosis among ICU settings which links the critically ill patients to higher complications and mortalities. Purpose: Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) are potential diagnostic biomarkers for breast cancer (BC). The application of miRNA panels could improve the performance of screening tests. Here, we integrated bioinformatic tools and meta-analyses to select circulating miRNAs with high diagnostic accuracy and combined these markers to develop diagnostic panels for BC., Methods: Analyses across databases were performed to identify potential BC-related circulating miRNAs. Next, a comprehensive meta-analysis was conducted for each miRNA following the PRISMA guidelines. An electronic and manual search for relevant literature was carried out by two reviewers through PubMed, ScienceDirect, Biomed Central, and Google Scholar. The quality of the included studies was assessed using the QUADAS-2, and the statistical analyses were performed using R software 4.1.1. Finally, the accurate biomarkers confirmed through meta-analyses were combined into diagnostic models for BC., Results: Twenty-seven circulating miRNAs were identified as BC-related by bioinformatic tools. After screening, only 10 miRNAs presented in 45 studies were eligible for meta-analyses. By assessing pooled sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio, negative likelihood ratio, and diagnostic odds ratio, 8 miRNAs (miR-21, miR-30b, miR-125b, miR-145, miR221 miR-222, and miR-335) were revealed as promising BC diagnostic biomarkers. Two panels constructed from these miRNAs showed excellent diagnostic accuracy for BC, with areas under the SROC curve of 0.917 and 0.944., Conclusion: We identified 8 potential circulating miRNAs and 2 diagnostic models that are useful for diagnosing BC. However, the established miRNA panels have not been tested in any experimental studies and thus should be validated in large case-control studies for clinical use., (© 2022. Polysaccharide monooxygenases (PMOs) use a type-2 copper center to activate O 2 for the selective hydroxylation of one of the two C-H bonds of glycosidic linkages. Our electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) analysis and molecular dynamics (MD) simulations suggest the unprecedented dynamic roles of the loop containing the residue G89 (G89 loop) on the active site structure and reaction cycle of starch-active PMOs (AA13 PMOs). In the Cu(II) state, the G89 loop could switch between an "open" and "closed" conformation, which is associated with the binding and dissociation of an aqueous ligand in the distal site, respectively. The conformation of the G89 loop influences the positioning of the copper center on the preferred substrate of AA13 PMOs. The dissociation of the distal ligand results in the bending of the T-shaped core of the Cu(II) active site, which could help facilitate its reduction to the active Cu(I) state. In the Cu(I) state, the G89 loop is in the "closed" conformation with a confined copper center, which could allow for efficient O 2 binding. In addition, the G89 loop remains in the "closed" conformation in the Cu(II)-superoxo intermediate, which could prevent off-pathway superoxide release via exchange with the distal aqueous ligand. Finally, at the end of the reaction cycle, aqueous ligand binding to the distal site could switch the G89 loop to the "open" conformation and facilitate product release.

Chlamydia protein associating with death domains (CADD) is involved in the biosynthesis of para -aminobenzoate (pABA), an essential component of the folate cofactor that is required for the survival and proliferation of the human pathogen Chlamydia trachomatis . The pathway used by Chlamydiae for pABA synthesis differs from the canonical multi-enzyme pathway used by most bacteria that relies on chorismate as a metabolic precursor. Rather, recent work showed pABA formation by CADD derives from l-tyrosine. As a member of the emerging superfamily of heme oxygenase-like diiron oxidases (HDOs), CADD was proposed to use a diiron cofactor for catalysis. However, we report maximal pABA formation by CADD occurs upon the addition of both iron and manganese, which implicates a heterobimetallic Fe:Mn cluster is the catalytically active form. Isotopic labeling experiments and proteomics studies show that CADD generates pABA from a protein-derived tyrosine (Tyr27), a residue that is ∼14 Å from the dimetal site. We propose that this self-sacrificial reaction occurs through O 2 activation by a probable Fe:Mn cluster through a radical relay mechanism that connects to the "substrate" Tyr, followed by amination and direct oxygen insertion. These results provide the molecular basis for pABA formation in C. trachomatis , which will inform the design of novel therapeutics.

Hedera helix has been reported to contain a wide range of metabolites and produce many pharmacological effects. This research demonstrates the determination and evaluation of the phytochemical profiling of H. helix grown in central Vietnam. Methanolic extract of ivy had been analyzed by ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-TOF-MS/MS). MS, and MS/MS experiments were manipulated using both negative and positive ionization modes to provide molecular mass information and production spectra for the structural elucidation of compounds. A total of 46 compounds including 24 triterpene saponins and other compounds were successfully identified of which four established saponin structures have been reported for the first time. Most of the existing chest X-ray datasets include labels from a list of findings without specifying their locations on the radiographs. This limits the development of machine learning algorithms for the detection and localization of chest abnormalities. In this work, we describe a dataset of more than 100,000 chest X-ray scans that were retrospectively collected from two major hospitals in Vietnam. Out of this raw data, we release 18,000 images that were manually annotated by a total of 17 experienced radiologists with 22 local labels of rectangles surrounding abnormalities and 6 global labels of suspected diseases. The released dataset is divided into a training set of 15,000 and a test set of 3,000. Each scan in the training set was independently labeled by 3 radiologists, while each scan in the test set was labeled by the consensus of 5 radiologists. We designed and built a labeling platform for DICOM images to facilitate these annotation procedures. Objective: People are increasingly encouraged to self-manage their chronic conditions; however, many struggle to practise it effectively. Most studies that investigate patient work (ie, tasks involved in self-management and contexts influencing such tasks) rely on self-reports, which are subject to recall and other biases. Few studies use wearable cameras and deep learning to capture and classify patient work activities automatically., Materials and Methods: We propose a deep learning approach to classify activities of patient work collected from wearable cameras, thereby studying self-management routines more effectively. Twenty-six people with type 2 diabetes and comorbidities wore a wearable camera for a day, generating more than 400 h of video across 12 daily activities. To classify these video images, a weighted ensemble network that combines Linear Discriminant Analysis, Deep Convolutional Neural Networks, and Object Detection algorithms is developed. Performance of our model is assessed using Top-1 and Top-5 metrics, compared against manual classification conducted by 2 independent researchers., Results: Across 12 daily activities, our model achieved on average the best Top-1 and Top-5 scores of 81.9 and 86.8, respectively. Our model also outperformed other non-ensemble techniques in terms of Top-1 and Top-5 scores for most activity classes, demonstrating the superiority of leveraging weighted ensemble techniques., Conclusions: Deep learning can be used to automatically classify daily activities of patient work collected from wearable cameras with high levels of accuracy. Generalized erythrodermic psoriasis (GEP) is a rare and potentially life-threatening variant of psoriasis. Possible triggers that have been identified to date include poorly controlled psoriasis, medications, abrupt discontinuation of anti-psoriatic treatment, and underlying systemic illnesses. However, vaccines have rarely been reported to exacerbate GEP. Herein, we report two unique cases with GEP exacerbated following a dose of the BNT162b2 mRNA vaccine for COVID-19 (as their second dose, the first being the mRNA-1273 vaccine). Based on our observations and a literature review, vaccination was considered the most likely trigger of GEP due to the close temporal relationship between the second vaccination and the onset of GEP., (© 2022 Wiley Periodicals LLC.)

This paper presents a 12-b successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for biopotential sensing applications. To reduce the digital-to-analog converter (DAC) switching energy of the high-resolution ADC, we combine merged-capacitor-switching (MCS) and detect-and-skip (DAS) methods, successfully embedded in the subranging structure. The proposed method saves 96.7% of switching energy compared to the conventional method. Without an extra burden on the realization of the calibration circuit, we achieve mismatch calibration by reusing the on-chip DAC. The mismatch data are processed in the digital domain to compensate for the nonlinearity caused by the DAC mismatch. The ADC is realized using a 0.18 μm CMOS process with a core area of 0.7 mm 2 . At the sampling rate f S = 9 kS/s, the ADC achieves a signal-to-noise ratio and distortion (SINAD) of 67.4 dB. The proposed calibration technique improves the spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) by 7.2 dB, resulting in 73.5 dB. At an increased f S = 200 kS/s, the ADC achieves a SINAD of 65.9 dB and an SFDR of 68.8 dB with a figure-of-merit (FoM) of 13.2 fJ/conversion-step.

Background and Objectives: To investigate the safety and efficacy of a dual-wavelength 1064/532-nm picosecond-domain laser for tattoo removal in Vietnamese patients., Study Design/materials and Methods: This prospective clinical study enrolled 30 subjects with 52 decorative tattoos treated with up to six treatments of laser removal at intervals of 6-8 weeks. Safety and efficacy were assessed at each treatment session and at 4 weeks after the final session. A "good" response was defined as at least 75% clearance of tattoo pigments., Results: A significant reduction of tattoo appearance was achieved in all subjects. 88.5% of tattoos exhibited a "good" response to treatment by the end of the six sessions and more than 36% of tattoos exhibited better than "good" responses. Adverse events were common in the early period after treatment but did not persist in most patients. Only one case of prolonged hypopigmentation was reported., Conclusions: Treatment using a 1064/532-nm picosecond laser is an effective approach for removal of decorative tattoos, which poses a minimal risk of long-term adverse events in patients with Fitzpatrick skin type III or IV. Ni-doped TiO 2 nanoparticles have been synthesized by a modified sol-gel method. The crystal phase composition, particle size, and magnetic and optical properties of the samples were comprehensively examined using x-ray diffraction analysis, transmission electron microscopy, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area analysis, Raman spectroscopy, magnetization measurements, and ultraviolet-visible (UV-Vis) absorption techniques. The results showed that the prepared Ni-doped TiO 2 samples sintered at 400°C crystallized completely in anatase phase with average particle size in the range from 8 nm to 10 nm and presented broad visible absorption. The bactericidal efficiency of TiO 2 was effectively enhanced by Ni doping, with an optimum Ni doping concentration of 6% ( x  = 0.06), at which 95% of Escherichia coli were killed after just 90 min of irradiation. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations revealed good agreement with the experimental data. Decades of ongoing research have shown that background modelling is a very powerful technique, which is used in intelligent surveillance systems, in order to extract features of interest, known as foregrounds. In order to work with the dynamic nature of different scenes, many techniques of background modelling adopted the unsupervised approach of Gaussian Mixture Model with an iterative paradigm. Although the technique has had much success, a problem occurs in cases of sudden scene changes with high variation (e.g., illumination changes, camera jittering) that the model unknowingly and unnecessarily takes into account those effects and distorts the results. Therefore, this paper proposes an unsupervised, parallelized, and tensor-based approach that algorithmically works with entropy estimations. These entropy estimations are used in order to assess the uncertainty level of a constructed background, which predicts both the present and future variations from the inputs, thereby opting to use either the incoming frames to update the background or simply discard them. Our experiments suggest that this method is highly integrable into a surveillance system that consists of other functions and can be competitive with state-of-the-art methods in terms of processing speed.

Type 2 copper active sites, one of the several important copper active sites in biology, were recently found in the novel superfamily of polysaccharide monooxygenases (PMOs) that cleave recalcitrant polysaccharides via an unprecedented oxidative mechanism. The copper center in PMOs is ligated by the bidentate N-terminal histidine residue and another conserved histidine residue, forming a unique T-shaped core termed as Histidine brace . This core serves as the foundation for diverse structures and electronic properties among PMO families and subfamilies. Understanding of the copper active site in PMOs is limited to the static solid structures obtained with X-ray diffraction (XRD), whereas in several families, the copper center exists as a mixture of species in solution as indicated by electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy. To obtain further details on the copper active sites in PMOs, we carried out density functional theory calculations and molecular dynamics simulations on Mt PMO3* that were previously studied with XRD, EPR, mutagenesis, and activity assays. The results reveal the fine-tuning of the binding of the distal ligands by both proximal and distal H-bond-forming residues. Q167 forms H bonds with the proximal O Tyr ligand of Y167 and the equatorial aqueous ligand (O eq ). T74 forms a H bond with the distal aqueous ligand (O dis ). Removing these H bonds by mutating Q167 or T74 to alanine results in great fluctuations of the axial ligands. Strengthening the proximal H bonds by mutating Q167 to glutamate confines Y167 to the copper centers. In all mutants, the residence time of O dis is significantly reduced. Q167A, Q167E, and T74A mutants were previously shown to have a significantly reduced activity. Our results indicate that well-tuned H bonds are required for the activity of PMOs.

Herein, we present an energy efficient successive-approximation-register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) featuring on-chip dual calibration and various accuracy-enhancement techniques. The dual calibration technique is realized in an energy and area-efficient manner for comparator offset calibration (COC) and digital-to-analog converter (DAC) capacitor mismatch calibration. The calibration of common-mode (CM) dependent comparator offset is performed without using separate circuit blocks by reusing the DAC for generating calibration signals. The calibration of the DAC mismatch is efficiently performed by reusing the comparator for delay-based mismatch detection. For accuracy enhancement, we propose new circuit techniques for a comparator, a sampling switch, and a DAC capacitor. An improved dynamic latched comparator is proposed with kick-back suppression and CM dependent offset calibration. An accuracy-enhanced bootstrap sampling switch suppresses the leakage-induced error <180 μV and the sampling error <150 μV. The energy-efficient monotonic switching technique is effectively combined with thermometer coding, which reduces the settling error in the DAC. The ADC is realized using a 0.18 μm complementary metal⁻oxide⁻semiconductor (CMOS) process in an area of 0.28 mm². At the sampling rate f S = 9 kS/s, the proposed ADC achieves a signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SNDR) of 55.5 dB and a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 70.6 dB. The proposed dual calibration technique improves the SFDR by 12.7 dB. Consuming 1.15 μW at f S = 200 kS/s, the ADC achieves an SNDR of 55.9 dB and an SFDR of 60.3 dB with a figure-of-merit of 11.4 fJ/conversion-step.

Two types of lipase, Candida rugosa lipase (CRL) and porcine pancreas lipase (PPL), were used to hydrolyze virgin coconut oil (VCO). The hydrolysis process was carried out under four parameters, VCO to buffer ratio, lipase concentration, pH, and temperature, which have a significant effect on hydrolysis of lipase. CRL obtained the best hydrolysis condition at 1 : 5 of VCO to buffer ratio, 1.5% of CRL concentration, pH 7, and temperature of 40°C. Meanwhile, PPL gave different results at 1 : 4 of VCO to buffer ratio, 2% of lipase concentration, pH 7.5, and 40°C. The highest hydrolysis degree of CRL and PPL was obtained after 16 hours and 26 hours, reaching 79.64% and 27.94%, respectively. Besides, the hydrolysis process was controlled at different time course (every half an hour) at the first 4 hours of reaction to compare the initial hydrolysis degree of these two lipase types. FFAs from hydrolyzed products were isolated and determined the percentage of each fatty acid which contributes to the FFAs mixture. As a result, medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs) made up the main contribution in composition of FFAs and lauric acid (C12) was the largest segment (47.23% for CRL and 44.23% for PPL).

Free fatty acids (FFAs) were obtained from hydrolyzed virgin coconut oil (VCO) by Candida rugosa lipase (CRL). Four factors' influence on hydrolysis degree (HD) was examined. The best hydrolysis conditions in order to get the highest HD value were determined at VCO to buffer ratio 1 : 5 (w/w), CRL concentration 1.5% (w/w oil), pH 7, and temperature 40°C. After 16 hours' reaction, the HD value achieved 79.64%. FFAs and residual hydrolyzed virgin coconut oil (HVCO) were isolated from the hydrolysis products. They were tested for their antibacterial activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, which can be found in contaminated food and cause food poisoning. FFAs showed their inhibition against Bacillus subtilis (ATCC 11774), Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), Salmonella enteritidis (ATCC 13076), and Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 25923) at minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of 50%, 60%, 20%, and 40%, respectively. However, VCO and HVCO did not show their antibacterial activity against these tested bacteria.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [K(C(5)HF(6)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)](n), is composed of two 3,5-bis-(trifluoro-meth-yl)pyrazol-ide anions, two potassium cations and four water mol-ecules. The water mol-ecules and 3,5-bis-(trifluoro-meth-yl)pyrazolide anions act as bridges between the potassium cations. Each potassium cation is surrounded by four O atoms [K-O = 2.705 (3)-2.767 (3) Å] and four F atoms [K-F = 2.870 (7)-3.215 (13) Å]. The water mol-ecules and the 3,5-bis-(trifluoro-meth-yl)pyrazolide anions are connected by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming layers in the ab plane. All -CF(3) groups show rotational disorder between two orientations each.

The title compound, [Na(CF(3)O(3)S)(C(12)H(24)O(6))], features a sodium cation that is coordinated by eight O atoms in an irregular hexa-gonal bipyramidal environment. The equatorial positions are occupied by the six O atoms of an 18-crown-6 ether ring. In the axial positions, there is one O atom of a trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion and an ether O atom of a symmetry-equivalent crown ether ring. In this way, centrosymmetric dimers are formed.
