IntroductionWound healing is a complex process involving multiple stages, including inflammation, proliferation, and remodeling. Effective wound management strategies are essential for accelerating healing and improving outcomes. The CELLADEEP patch, incorporating iontophoresis therapy and microneedle technology, was evaluated for its potential to enhance the wound healing process.MethodsThis study utilized a full-thickness skin defect model in Sprague-Dawley rats, researchers compared wound healing outcomes between rats treated with the CELLADEEP Patch and those left untreated. Various histological staining techniques were employed to examine and assess the wound healing process, such as H&E, MT and immunofluorescence staining. Furthermore, the anti-inflammatory and proliferative capabilities were further investigated using biochemical assays.ResultsMacroscopic and microscopic analyses revealed that the CELLADEEP patch significantly accelerated wound closure, reduced wound width, and increased epidermal thickness and collagen deposition compared to an untreated group. The CELLADEEP patch decreased nitric oxide and reactive oxygen species levels, as well as pro-inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNF-α, indicating effective modulation of the inflammatory response. Immunofluorescence staining showed reduced markers of macrophage activity (CD68, F4/80, MCP-1) in the patch group, suggesting a controlled inflammation process. Increased levels of vimentin, α-SMA, VEGF, collagen I, and TGF-β1 were observed, indicating enhanced fibroblast activity, angiogenesis, and extracellular matrix production.DiscussionThe CELLADEEP patch demonstrated potential in promoting effective wound healing by accelerating wound closure, modulating the inflammatory response, and enhancing tissue proliferation and remodeling. The CELLADEEP patch offers a promising non-invasive treatment option for improving wound healing outcomes.

Human skin-derived ECM aids cell functions but can trigger immune reactions; therefore it is addressed through decellularization. Acellular dermal matrices (ADMs), known for their regenerative properties, are used in tissue and organ regeneration. ADMs now play a key role in plastic and reconstructive surgery, enhancing aesthetics and reducing capsular contracture risk. Innovative decellularization with supercritical carbon dioxide preserves ECM quality for clinical use. The study investigated the cytotoxicity, biocompatibility, and anti-inflammatory properties of supercritical CO2 acellular dermal matrix (scADM) in vivo based on Sprague Dawley rat models. Initial experiments in vitro with fibroblast cells confirmed the non-toxic nature of scADM and demonstrated cell infiltration into scADMs after incubation. Subsequent tests in vitro revealed the ability of scADM to suppress inflammation induced by lipopolysaccharides (LPS) presenting by the reduction of pro-inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, and MCP-1. In the in vivo model, histological assessment of implanted scADMs in 6 months revealed a decrease in inflammatory cells, confirmed further by the biomarkers of inflammation in immunofluorescence staining. Besides, an increase in fibroblast infiltration and collagen formation was observed in histological staining, which was supported by various biomarkers of fibroblasts. Moreover, the study demonstrated vascularization and macrophage polarization, depicting increased endothelial cell formation. Alteration of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) was analyzed by RT-PCR, indicating the reduction of MMP2, MMP3, and MMP9 levels over time. Simultaneously, an increase in collagen deposition of collagen I and collagen III was observed, verified in immunofluorescent staining, RT-PCR, and western blotting. Overall, the findings suggested that scADMs offer significant benefits in improving outcomes in implant-based procedures as well as soft tissue substitution.

Rau mầm là loại rau thu hoạch sau khi hạt nảy mầm được từ 5 - 10 ngày tùy thuộc vào từng loại rau để đảm bảo năng suất và thành phần dinh dưỡng chứa trong chúng. Trong nghiên cứu này, chúng tôi khảo sát vitamin, protein, tro, hợp chất sinh học và hợp chất kích thích sinh trưởng có trong cây rau cải mầm ở ngày thứ 5, 7 và 9. Kết quả cho thấy, năng suất, hàm lượng protein, tro, vitamin A, B3 và K tăng theo thời gian thu hoạch. Trong khi đó, vitamin B6 không có mặt trong cây rau mầm cải ngọt và vitamin B3 mới bắt đầu xuất hiện ở ngày thứ 7. Hai hợp chất Glucosinolate và Isothiocyanate giảm mạnh theo thời gian thu hoạch. Rau mầm cải ngọt ở tất cả các ngày thu hoạch đều không chứa chất kích thích sinh trưởng IAA và cytokinin 6-BA. Thu hoạch rau mầm cải ngọt vào ngày thứ 7 sau khi gieo trồng để đảm bảo trong cây chứa đầy đủ các chất cần thiết cho con người.

One of the most notable signs of an aging face is the nasolabial folds (NLFs), which often diminish emotional well-being and self-confidence. To address this concern, many people seek solutions to improve their appearance, often turning to fillers. The ULTRACOL100 device, a tissue restoration material, has been previously investigated and shown to exhibit significant efficacy in both in vitro and in vivo studies. In this research, we aim to explore the safety and effectiveness of the clinical trial of ULTRACOL100 in improving the skin in the NLF area over an 8-week observation period. Male and Female adults with nasolabial folds received two injections of ULTRACOL100, with a 4-week interval between treatments, on one side of their faces. On the other side, they received control materials (REJURAN®, JUVELOOK®, or HYRONT®). The assessment of skin improvement in the nasolabial fold area for each subject took place before and four weeks after each application. Various skin parameters, such as roughness, elasticity, moisture, transparency, trans-epidermal water loss, tone, radiance, skin pore size, and skin density, were measured to evaluate the outcomes. The application of the ULTRACOL100 device significantly reduced the skin roughness, the trans-epidermal water loss, and the skin pore size and increased the skin’s elasticity and internal elasticity, as well as the skin’s moisture, transparency, skin tone, radiance, and density. This study comprehensively investigates the effectiveness and safety of the ULTRACOL100 device, comparing it with three commercial products (REJURAN®, JUVELOOK®, and HYRONT®). The ULTRACOL100 device showed comparable performance in improving the appearance of the NLF area among this study subjects.

Background/Aim: Chitosan-based functional materials have attracted considerable attention worldwide for applications in wound healing, especially in skin wound healing, due to their efficiency in hemostasis, anti-bacterial, and skin regeneration. Various chitosan-based products have been developed for skin wound healing applications, but most of these face limitations in either efficacy or costeffectiveness. Therefore, there is a need to develop a unique material that can handle all of these concerns and be utilized for acute and chronic wounds. This study investigated mechanisms of new chitosan-based hydrocolloid patches in inflammatory reduction and skin formation by using woundinduced Sprague Dawley Rats. Materials and Methods: Our study combined a hydrocolloid patch with chitosan to achieve a practical and accessible medical patch that would enhance skin wound healing. Our chitosan-embedded patch has shown a significant influence by preventing wound expansion and inflammation increment on Sprague Dawley rat models. Results: The chitosan patch significantly increased the wound healing rate and accelerated the inflammatory stage by suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokines activity (e.g., TNF-a, IL-6, MCP-1, and IL-1ß). Moreover, the product was effective in promoting skin regeneration, demonstrated by the increase in the number of fibroblasts through specific biomarkers (e.g., vimentin, a-MA, Ki-67, collagen I, and TGF-ß1). Conclusion: Our study on the chitosan-based hydrocolloid patches not only elucidated mechanisms of reducing inflammation and enhancing proliferation, but also provided a cost-effective method for skin wound dressing. Speaking skill plays a crucial part of the curriculum in any language teaching, yet it is considered one of the most difficult aspects of language learning. Speaking is a significant skill with complex constituents that need to be mastered by the learners, including vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, and interactive communication so that they can obtain success in their life, work, and study in this globalized world. Nevertheless, EFL language learners are finding it difficult to convey their thoughts effectively in the target language, and creating a successful speaking lesson has always been a challenging task for the teachers. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of utilizing video recording on EFL students' speaking skills and performance at Thai Nguyen University of Economics and Business Administration (TUEBA). It also attempts to explore the students' perceptions of the utilization of video recording in completing speaking assignments. The research involves 26 freshmen of the advanced program at TUEBA randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The data were collected based on the pretest, posttest, and questionnaire for analysis. The divergence between the pretest and posttest scores revealed that the experimental groups possessed higher achievements as a result of employing video recording. In addition, the survey respondents showed positive attitudes toward the application of video recording in fostering their oral skills. The results from the study are expected to provide grounds for suggestions and recommendations for the teaching and learning speaking for both the advanced program and the standard one at TUEBA. Crocin là sắc tố màu tự nhiên, thuộc nhóm carotenoid ưa nước được chiết xuất từ quả dành dành. Chất màu crocin được ứng dụng trong thực phẩm và dược phẩm. Trong nghiên cứu này, nhóm tác giả tiến hành nghiên cứu các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến quá trình chiết xuất chất màu tự nhiên crocin và bước đầu thu nhận chất màu ở dạng bột kết hợp maltodextrin. Dịch chiết thô crocin thu được đạt giá trị 10,49 ±0,17 mg/g CK sau khi tiến hành chiết tại các điều kiện: dung môi chiết (tỉ lệ ethanol/nước (40/60, v/v)), nhiệt độ chiết (70oC), thời gian chiết 45 phút, số lần chiết (1 lần). Bột màu dành dành được nghiên cứu không bổ sung maltodextrin và bổ sung maltodextrin hỗ trợ cho quá trình hoàn nguyên đạt hàm lượng crocin 10,15 ± 0,31 mg/g CK và 10,14 ± 0,27 mg/g CK tương ứng.

End-to-end food traceability system for dairy products have been overlooked despite being important to everyone since they are consumed widely all over the world. In Vietnam, there is not much reliable traceability solution for domestic dairy brands that offers consumers the opportunity to self-validate their purchase. Thus, the authors are motivated to conduct a research on “How can technology such as Blockchain help address the food safety issues in the Vietnamese domestic dairy sector?” with the hope to contribute to new research development that have not been actively exploited but also to have practical benefits. This research is based on inductive approach with qualitative design using data gathered from multiple secondary sources. A framework combining blockchain and related technologies has been recommended specifically for the Vietnamese domestic dairy sector to address the food safety and traceability issues.

The larvae of Hermetia. illucens have a high probability of coming into contact with microorganisms such as bacteria and fungi. Therefore, the survival of H. illucens is primarily the protection of their own against microbial infection. This effect depends on the development of the innate immune system. Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs) exhibit antimicrobial activity against other bacterial strains and can provide important data to understand the basis of the innate immunity of H. illucens . In this study, we injected larvae with Enterococcus. faecalis (gram-positive bacteria) and Serratia. marcescens as (gram-negative bacteria) to test the hypothesis that H. illucens is protected from infection by its immune-related gene expression repertoire. To identify the inducible immune-related genes, we performed and cataloged the transcriptomes by RNA-Seq analysis. We compared the transcriptomes of whole larvae and obtained a DNA fragment of 465 bp including the poly (A) tail by RACE as a novel H. illucens immune-related gene against bacteria. A novel target mRNA expression was higher in immunized larvae with E. faecalis and S. marcescens groups than non-immunized group. We expect our study to provide evidence that the global RNA-Seq approach allowed for the identification of a gene of interest which was further analyzed by quantitative RT-PCR, together with genes chosen from the available literature.
