In this paper, a close-form reliability analysis for two-unit system consisting of an intermittent operation (IO) component and a continuous operation (CO) component is developed. While the CO component continuously works, the IO component alternatively works in both operation and standby modes. The deterioration of the CO component could lead to increase working frequency of the IO component, which in result, could speed up the deterioration process of the IO component. Ignoring this deterioration interaction in deterioration modeling and reliability analysis could lead to inaccuracy in lifetime prediction and maintenance planning. Therefore, a deterioration model for the IO component is developed taking into account the deterioration between components. Reliability model of the IO component and the whole system are then derived.

This article describes the design and fabrication of an angle tilt adjustment device that automatically adjusts the measured surface to parallel the surface plate. The device features a 150 mm × 150 mm worktable and enables independent tilt adjustment of the worktable surface in the X and Y directions via two worm-gear pairs driven by stepper motors. For high angular resolution around the OX and OY axes, the device employs a transmission ratio of 6781 from two motors to these axes. The experimental results reveal that the adjusted average nonparallelism between the measured surface and the surface plate reaches 0.001 mm. The results indicate that the device is fully capable of performing accurate measurements. The device is compact, easy to carry, and low in production cost, making it ideal for installation in small and medium mechanical workshops. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study was conducted to evaluate surface water quality using pollution indices including the organic pollution index (OPI), comprehensive pollution index (CPI), and water quality index (WQI), cluster analysis (CA), with the support of one-way analysis of variance (One-way ANOVA), and principal component analysis (PCA). Water quality data at 42 locations, with 22 water quality parameters including temperature, pH, turbidity, salinity, chloride, total dissolved solids, electrical conductivity, sulfate, dissolved oxygen, total suspended solids, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, nitrite, nitrate, ammonium, orthophosphate, coliform, E. coli, arsenic, cadmium, lead, and copper, were used for the evaluation. The results showed that all the pollution indices fluctuated spatially and temporally. The OPI index ranged from slight organic pollution to heavy organic pollution, and the OPI values in February and April were higher than those in other months. OPI values were classified as moderate with 54.76% of the locations and heavily polluted with 45.24%. Assessment based on the CPI revealed that 16.7% and 83.3% of locations were classified as moderately contaminated and heavily contaminated, respectively. The WQI classified 45% of the locations as poor and 55% of the locations as having average water quality. In particular, the water quality in August, October, and December was better than that in other months. PCA results showed that eight polluting sources were responsible for 77.1% of the water quality variation. The main surface water polluting sources could be natural sources (riverbank erosion, rainwater runoff), wastewater (domestic, agricultural, and industrial), water discharge from the national park, and livestock areas. Local environmental management agencies need to have appropriate solutions to improve water quality. Future research should focus on the contribution sources to surface water degradation. Bài báo trình bày việc thiết kế và chế tạo một đầu in dựa trên cơ chế đùn nhựa bằng trục vít ứng dụng khi in 3D FDM. Thiết kế nhằm tăng áp lực đùn nhựa phù hợp cho việc in ra sợi nhựa có đường kính từ mm. Thiết kế sử dụng một động cơ bước giảm tốc nối với trục vít đùn. Ống dẫn nhựa được gia nhiệt bằng bộ gia nhiệt điện trở. Đầu in chế tạo khi thực nghiệm có khả năng đùn nhựa với đường kính lỗ thoát nhựa nhỏ đến 0,1mm. Bài báo được trình bày từ lý thuyết tính toán đến chế tạo một cách chi tiết giúp các nhà thiết kế có thể áp dụng cho các ứng dụng khác có dùng vít đùn. Dựa vào đầu in đã thiết kế, nhóm nghiên cứu sẽ tiếp tục xem xét ảnh hưởng của các yếu tố vận hành đầu in đến kích thước, độ ổn định sợi nhựa được in ra và thực nghiệm kết nối đầu in với cơ cấu di chuyển trên máy in 3D FDM trong thời gian tới.

Nghiên cứu điều tra khả năng chịu nén của 05 cấu trúc điền đầy: Grid, Rectilinear, 3D honeycomb, Triangles và Cross khi in 3D FDM dùng vật liệu nhựa PLA. Mẫu thử được in theo tiêu chuẩn ASTM D695-15 để kiểm tra bền nén. Các mẫu thử được hiệu chỉnh theo tỉ lệ phần trăm điền đầy để đạt cùng khối lượng tại 3 mức 1,5 g, 2,1 g và 2,6 g; trong đó, sai khác khối lượng không vượt quá 1%. Kết quả, các cấu trúc Cross, Grid, và Triangles được xếp vào nhóm có khả năng chịu nén cao hơn so với nhóm cấu trúc 3D honeycomb và Rectilinear cho cả 03 mức khối lượng. Mặt khác, khả năng chịu nén có sự thay đổi thứ tự xếp hạng tại các mức khối lượng của mẫu thử. Điều này cho thấy, ngoài tác động của khối lượng mẫu thì còn nhiều yếu tố khác ảnh hưởng đến khả năng kháng nén của các cấu trúc điền đầy và cần các nghiên cứu sâu hơn trong thời gian tới.

Ngày nay, các nguồn năng lượng tái tạo đang được sử dụng rộng rãi trên thế giới và ở Việt Nam, không chỉ trong khai thác để phục vụ sản xuất điện năng nhằm giảm sử dụng năng lượng hóa thạch và ô nhiễm môi trường mà còn là một giải pháp để quảng bá nhằm thúc đẩy và nâng cao ý thức của con người trong việc sử dụng năng lượng xanh, sạch và hiệu quả tiết kiệm. Do vậy, trong bài báo này, nhóm tác giả đã đưa ra mô hình thiết kế, kết nối các nguồn tái tạo cũng như ứng dụng phần mềm để kiểm tra kết cấu, ổn định đồng thời tính toán, lựa chọn, chế tạo và lắp đặt một cây năng lượng bao gồm nguồn điện gió và mặt trời trong thực tế, nhằm phục vụ cho mục đích công cộng và quảng bá du lịch cho thành phố Đà Nẵng.
