In the realm of AI-driven education, it is pivotal to evaluate the viability of ChatGPT as a substitute for human teachers in English classrooms. This study aims to explore learners' behaviors, perceptions, and attitudes to ChatGPT usage in English language learning. Participants were 120 I.T. students in Vietnam -- the Korea University of Information and Communication Technology and the University of Da Nang- who were learning English as a non-specialized subject. Data collection was conducted with multiple choices, a 4-point Likert scale questionnaire, and in-depth interviews. The findings highlight students' need for teacher's instruction and physical classroom despite recognizing ChatGPT's efficacy for ESP vocabulary acquisition, translation, grammar checking, and paraphrasing. Students predominantly exploited ChatGPT to find instant solutions to English learning difficulties. The research underscores the importance of guiding learners to appropriately utilize ChatGPT, emphasizing the need for further investigation into plagiarism-detecting tools to mitigate potential misuse of the technology.

Amorphous silica (a-SiO₂), found in rice husk ash, is a valuable material due to its high silica content, large surface area, excellent pozzolanic properties, and strong binding ability with cement. These characteristics make it ideal for use as a supplementary cementitious material and a sustainable alternative for the partial replacement of ordinary Portland cement. This study aims to optimize the recovery process of amorphous silica from rice husks cultivated under various soil conditions (normal, drought, saline, and acidic soils), which are experiencing significant fluctuations due to climate change in many rice-producing countries. Experiments were conducted on rice husks under different pyrolysis conditions at temperatures of 700 °C, 800 °C, and 900 °C, with varying calcination durations. Through comprehensive analysis using Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD), along with the evaluation of amorphous silica recovery efficiency, we identified the optimal conditions for producing amorphous silica from rice husks. The analysis revealed that the highest recovery efficiency was achieved at a pyrolysis temperature of 700 °C for 1 hour. Under these conditions, the recovery efficiencies were 87.9% for normal soil RHA, 96.5% for saline soil RHA, 94.8% for drought soil RHA, and 95.6% for acidic soil RHA. The phase structure, surface morphology, and particle size of the RHA-derived amorphous silica, ground to micrometer sizes, were found to be similar to commercial products such as ordinary Portland cement and silica fume. This study provides a foundation for scaling up the production of amorphous silica from rice husk ash on an industrial scale, considering the relationship between optimal recovery efficiency and the origin of the rice husk ash, thus contributing to the development of environmentally friendly construction materials.

Risk management has become crucial for organizations in the current era. Therefore, this study assesses the impact of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) on an organization’s performance and examines how knowledge management and technology adoption mediate this impact, along with the moderating effect of supply chain resilience based on the resource-based view and dynamic capabilities theory. Utilizing a questionnaire-based survey, data were collected from 297 respondents in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, and Dong Nai, Vietnam, by cluster random sampling. The data were statistically analyzed using the partial least squares method. The results indicated a positive effect of ERM on financial performance, while the association with non-financial performance lacked significance. Knowledge management and technology adoption fully mediated the positive impact of ERM on non-financial performance and partially mediated its relationship with financial performance. Furthermore, supply chain resilience strengthened the positive link between ERM and financial performance. In conclusion, these findings contribute to advancing the comprehension of the mechanisms and dynamics involved in knowledge management and technology adoption as mediators and supply chain resilience as a moderator, regarding an emerging country. The study enriches the risk management literature and significantly contributes to enhancing firm effectiveness.

This academic paper investigates the intricate relationships among population dynamics, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and renewable energy consumption in Vietnam. The study used the Autoregressive Distributed Lag approach and fixed panel data method to examine the nexus between population, CO2 emissions and renewable energy consumption in Vietnam. The data is collected at the World Bank from 2000 to 2023. As the nation undergoes rapid economic development and urbanization, understanding the nexus between population growth, environmental impact and the transition to renewable energy sources becomes crucial. The study employs a multidimensional analytical approach that integrates demographic trends, environmental science and energy economics to unveil novel evidence into the complex interplay of these factors. The significant findings indicate a positive trajectory in renewable energy consumption, with notable contributions from solar, wind and hydropower sources. Concurrently, population growth, particularly in urban centres, correlates with increased CO2 emissions, emphasizing the role of demographic shifts in environmental impact. Policy implications derived from these results underscore the need for integrated strategies. Targeted policies promoting renewable energy in urban centres, incentivizing cleaner industrial practices and fostering community engagement emerge as crucial avenues for sustainable development. In essence, this study contributes valuable insights into the dynamic relationships among population dynamics, CO2 emissions and renewable energy consumption in Vietnam, offering a foundation for evidence-based policymaking and guiding future research endeavours in sustainable development.

The current study aimed to examine the effects of mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) and vitamin E (VE) on the growth, intestinal microorganisms, and structure, ammonia, and pathogen resistance of golden pompano, Trachinotus ovatus. Four diets were used: Control (un-supplementation), VE (0.01 % Vitamin E), MOS (0.4 % mannan oligosaccharide), and MOS+VE (0.40 %MOS+0.01 %VE) for 56-day. The results revealed a synergistic effect of MOS+VE on increments of growth rate of pompano. The total aerobic bacteria significantly increased in fish fed supplemented diets, with the highest counts was in fish fed MOS+VE. The Vibrio counts was significantly diminished in fish supplemented diets, with a minimal counts was in fish fed MOS+VE. Intestinal morphology (villus length, villus width, and villus surface area) of pompano fed MOS+VE and the mixture of MOS+VE significantly improved, with the best results observed in fish fed the combination (MOS+VE). Both MOS and VE enhanced protein and reduce lipid; however, fish fed combination (MOS+VE) had the highest performance in terms of protein content. The nutrient utilization (PER, PPV, LER and LPV) were significantly enhance in fish fed VE or MOS, but the highest of those values were in fish fed MOS+VE). Pompano can tolerate best against ammonia and pathogen, when supplemented with MOS and VE in their diet. The survival of fish fed MOS or VE were significantly higher under ammonia and pathogen infection, but insignificantly difference between them. It is recommended to add 4 g.kg−1 MOS and 0.1 g.kg−1 VE to the diet of pompano.

Ensuring patient safety in healthcare necessitates the sterilization of medical devices. However, traditional autoclaves are impractical for certain medical settings due to their size, bulkiness, and time-consuming nature. To address this, a compact and portable alternative called a cassette autoclave was developed. This paper presents the design and manufacturing process of a high-speed cassette autoclave for medical devices. The autoclave features small dimensions, lightweight construction, and user-friendly operation. It achieves remarkable speed, sterilizing devices in approximately 3.5 minutes. Made of durable stainless steel, it includes a digital control panel for seamless management. Extensive testing and validation ensure compliance with sterilization standards. The results highlight the autoclave's effectiveness and safety, making a significant contribution to medical device sterilization.

Lotus plants have emerged as a relatively new commodity in the food industry in Vietnam, with significant economic potential from its diverse applications in medicine, cosmetics, food, and decoration. Vertical coordination, involving strategic alignment and collaboration among different actors in the value chain, plays a critical role in supporting the small-grain grower-trader relationship. This study aimed to investigate the factors driving the adoption of vertical coordination mechanisms within lotus-grain value chains and to assess the impact of different coordination strategies applied by farmers on their well-being in central Vietnam. Employing a multinomial endogenous switching regression methodology, the study offers nuanced insights into the adoption patterns and impacts of various coordination strategies, controlling for both sample selection bias and unobservable factors. The results highlight the importance of trust, input management, and strategic decision-making in enhancing yield and revenue outcomes among smallholder farming households. Trust between farmers and traders significantly influences the adoption of such strategies in agricultural transactions. Higher trust levels correlate with an increased likelihood of adopting verbal, input, or written contracts. The positive impacts of input contracts on lotus grain yield and revenue, highlighting the importance of effective input management. These findings deepen our understanding of vertical coordination within lotus-grain value chains and assist stakeholders in making evidence-based decisions when selecting vertical coordination strategies for sustainable value chain management.

Digital literacies are critical for adults from migrant and refugee backgrounds as they settle in a new country. However, institutions, leaders, and teachers often feel uncertain about how to teach digital literacies. Using the notions of digital literacy practices and assemblages, this article reports on a qualitative case study and explores how 30 adults from migrant and refugee backgrounds navigated challenging digital literacy practices related to settlement in Australia. This research found that to deal with challenges, the participants brought together different personal, social, material, symbolic, temporal, and spatial resources. However, sometimes the required resources were not available, which constrained the participants' practices. Some participants were aware of the need to find new solutions but they often did not know how this might be done. In contrast, some participants were reluctant to take a risk. The article concludes with implications for EAL practice by suggesting strengths-based pedagogies for digital literacies.

This study evaluates several machine learning models used in predicting student performance. The data utilized in this study was collected from 253 undergraduate students participating in five classes within one of three courses offered by VnCodelab, an interactive learning management system, to provide insights into student performance. Leveraging the data-rich environment of the interactive learning management system proposed earlier, this study focuses on training a predictive model that forecasts student grades based on the comprehensive data collected during the teaching process. The proposed model capitalizes on the data obtained from students' engagement patterns, time spent on exercises, and progress tracking across learning activities. This study compared five different base classifiers— Random Forest (RF), Logistic Regression (LR), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes (NB), and k-nearest Neighbor (k-NN), and an ensemble learning method Stacking Classifier —utilizing a dataset comprising 13 features. The research assesses the model's accuracy, reliability, and implications, contributing to the evolution of educational evaluation by introducing predictive assessment as a transformative tool. The results indicate that the Stacking Classifier accurately predicts students' grade ranges, surpassing individual base classification models by effectively combining their predictive capabilities. Integrating data-driven forecasting into the educational ecosystem can transform teaching methodologies and foster an informed, engaged, and empowered learning environment. This approach cultivates a proactive learning community by empowering students with real-time academic progress forecasts. Educators benefit from data-informed insights that facilitate more effective and objective performance evaluation.

This research illustrates the application of the MCDM (Multi-Criteria Decision Making) method in education, specifically in the context of selecting supportive equipment for classroom instructors, as detailed below. The study aims to determine the optimal equipment to assist instructors in their teaching activities. The research is centered around classrooms within a university in Vietnam. Two MCDM methods, namely the FUCA (Faire Un Choix Adéquat) method and the CURLI (Collaborative Unbiased Rank List Integration) method, were employed to select the most suitable equipment options available in the market. The recommended quantities for the respective equipment are 4, 12, and 5, with 5, 12, and 10 evaluation criteria for each type. Notably, the optimal solutions obtained through the FUCA method align with those derived from the CURLI method for each type of equipment. The findings of this study can be leveraged to conduct further research on teaching methodologies, textbook selection, equipment choices for practical exercises, and various other aspects within the field of education.

Acacia hybrid (Acacia mangium Willd. × A. auriculiformis A. Cunn. Ex Benth.) dominates plantation wood production in central Vietnam. Dependence on a single species may increase biological risks. The potential of eucalypt as an alternative was examined by comparing the growth and survival of acacia hybrid and eucalypt hybrid (Eucalyptus urophylla S.T. Blake × E. pellita F. Muell.) clones in Quang Tri province at three planting densities (1333, 1667 and 2222 trees ha−1). The experiment was planted on an eroded shallow soil common in the region. At age 5 years, survival of acacia (74%) was higher than that of eucalypt (67%), a consequence of high mortality from wind damage for one eucalypt clone. Eucalypt was taller by about 2 m, but stem diameters of acacia and eucalypt were very similar. For both taxa, diameter decreased significantly as planting density increased. Across planting densities, mean standing volume was 107 and 108 m3 ha−1 for acacia and eucalyptus, respectively. Linear regressions of stocking at 5 years on volume accounted for over half of the variance in acacia and eucalypt plot volumes, demonstrating the strong effect of stocking on yield. There were similarly strong effects of stocking on stem diameter. Acacia hybrid plantations of nearby small growers had stockings at age 5 years that averaged over 2500 stems ha−1. Growers planted at higher densities and allowed their trees to multi-stem. Their standing volumes at age 5 years ranged from 83 to 102 m3 ha−1. Understanding how to reduce tree mortality would assist growers to choose planting densities and stand management that optimise growth, log diameter classes and net returns.

A characterization of near-field impulse responses based on electromagnetic (EM) near-field data from an EM solver to explore features of the propagation process on a well-known wideband traveling wave antenna—double-slot Vivaldi antenna—is presented in this article. The intensity, propagating time and partitional response characteristics facilitate interpretation of the propagation process and impacts of the antenna partitions on the process. The EM energy flows guided, reoriented and scattered along a sequence of antennas transmitting and radiating segments were recognized. The geometric features of near-field wavefront surfaces supported evaluation of the EM flow proportions and antenna directivity. Impact of the structural section on radiation was also assessed by the partitional far-field response characteristic in frequency and time domains. Supported by many complementary characteristics in the analyses, inherent features of the propagation process were emphasized and false flags were minimized. By this approach, the simplification for the near-field propagation model contributed to enhancing the insight of near-field propagation processes on the double-slot antipodal Vivaldi antennas and enabled optimizing the antenna structure details.

The purpose of this paper is to unpack the meanings and implications of mobility through the experiences of a group of Vietnamese women who decided to do doctorates in Australia. Drawing on the Deleuzian concepts of rhizome and becoming, our analysis of interview data suggests that mobility is made of multiple connections and is in constant movement, extending often reductive "push-pull" discussions of academic mobility. Each aspect shaping mobility connects to another that is multiscalar and multitemporal, where family, education ideologies, gender norms, economic globalization, neoliberalization within higher education, and the histories and biographies of mobile people come together. Power relations are immanent within structures associated with these connections and the women and mobility come together to create aspirations for educational, professional, and personal becoming. The paper offers a more nuanced understanding of international academic mobility rather than relying on economic perspectives and invites innovative approaches in supporting international doctoral students.
