Abstract

The data of cosmic ray NEVOD-DECOR experiment on the investigation of inclined muon bundles for a long time period (May 2012 - March 2021) are presented. The analysis showed that the observed intensity of muon bundles at primary cosmic ray energies of about 1 EeV and higher can be compatible with the expectation in frame of widely used hadron interaction models only under the assumption of an extremely heavy mass composition. This conclusion is consistent with data of several experiments on investigations of muon content in air showers, but contradicts the available fluorescence data on $X_{\text{max}}$ which favor a light mass composition at these energies. In order to clarify the nature of the "muon puzzle", investigations of the muon bundle energy deposit in the detector material were carried out. For the first time, experimental estimates of the average energy of muons in the bundles of inclined air showers initiated by primary particles with energies from 10 to 1000 PeV have been obtained.

Abstract

The article gives a description of an experimental laboratory test bench for dynamic testing of the operation of an electric submersible pump (ESP) and vibration characteristics of its units. The aim of the research is to determine the section of the pump unit causing a sharp increase in the overall vibration of the whole pump unit. The measurement of the input module vibration characteristics in the air mode demonstrate that the radial vibration acceleration of the fit-up increases by 23%, while the axial one more than doubles. In the water mode, the radial acceleration is within the limits of 5.8 m/s², the axial vibration having increased by a factor of 2.8. The research conducted by digital technology proves the results obtained earlier. It points out that the increased vibration is indeed, which is caused by the body of the input module affecting the vibration of the assembled pump unit, thus increasing the axial vibration of the input module by a factor of 2.8 if compared to the radial vibration. The measurement of the vibration characteristics of the pump with both new and worn parts in different modes has revealed the following patterns: the nature of vibration fluctuations is not in line with the linearity of the system; no resonance phenomena are observed in many of the experiments; the quasiperiodic signals are interrupted by sudden value deviations, which is typically characteristic of non-linear systems in the mode close to chaotic vibration. It is also backed up by the high harmonic components (subharmonics) in the signal spectrum.
