The autochthonous, i.e. local, red wine variety Prokupac is one of the most important varieties in Serbia. In the past, this variety was the leading one in the largest number of wine-growing areas of our country. The Prokupac variety is currently the most represented in the Tri Morave wine-growing region (Central Serbia), while the largest number of vineyards with this variety are located in the Župa wine-growing subregion. Due to its importance as an old and traditional variety, certain researches of this variety have been initiated in recent years in wine-growing areas where Prokupac is traditionally grown. Certain scientific activities were initiated to isolate different genotypes with improved production and use value, all with the aim of clonal selection of this variety. In this paper, some characteristics and quality parameters of the more promising Prokupac genotypes that were isolated in the Župa wine-growing subregion in the Aleksandrovac municipality are presented. More extensive research was carried out on grapes from the harvest of 2019, 2020 and 2021 with 16 selected genotypes, namely eight genotypes from the Latkovac locality and eight genotypes from the Drenča locality. In addition to laboratory analyses of sugar, acid and pH content in the grape must, the theoretical alcohol content was also calculated. Furthermore, spectrophotometric methods were used to determine colour intensity A-420, colour intensity A-520, colour intensity A-620 and total colour intensity, as well as colour tonality. The analyses showed that certain main quality parameters from the research are within the value limits as in earlier research, but that the acid content is generally more optimal for red wine varieties compared to the research of that parameter carried out in the earlier period in other wine-growing areas (Fruška Gora and Čegar wine-growing subregions). Moreover, in our research, the sugar content of the grape is higher than the established values of that parameter in the grape must from the Čegar wine-growing subregion.

The paper presents the hydraulic calculation of pipelines and selection the pumping units for hydrotransport of drainage water of the Dam 4-1 from the planned well on the dam to the tailing dump.

The RTH flotation tailing dump, located in the old open pit RTH in Bor about 500 m southeast of the Flotation Plant, has been in continuous operational work since 1985. The flotations tailing dumps are important mining facilities that are constantly changed during their exploitation period. Due to the changes occurring in the tailing dump during its exploitation, it is necessary to perform a continuous technical and technological surveillance-auscultation in order to collect parameters in real time to predict the phenomena, which will enable the normal exploitation of tailing dump. This paper presents the current state of the flotation tailing dump RTH, based on the auscultation monitoring program, carried out in the period August 2020 to February 2021. As for the normal exploitation of the flotation tailings dump in safe and stable conditions, a special attention is paid in this paper to the stability analysis of the dams I and II, as well as the sand dyke between them.

Background/Aim: The objective of the study was to compare cytological diagnoses using transepithelial cytology (oral brush biopsy) with histopathological diagnoses obtained by incisional biopsy in patients with benign lesions, oral potentially malignant disorders and oral squamous cell carcinoma. Material and Methods: The study included 57 patients. Brush biopsy was performed after local anaesthesia administration using the cervical brush. It was immediately followed by an incisional biopsy. Modified Bethesda System was used for cytological analysis and correlated with histopathological diagnoses according to intraepithelial neoplasia. Results: Good agreement was shown between cytological and histopathological diagnosis (kappa = 0.791). The sensitivity of the study was 92.85%, specificity 100%, positive predictive value (PPV) was 100% and negative predictive value (NPV) 93.54%. Conclusions: Oral brush biopsy, which allows the collection of epithelial cells of all layers can provide fast, precise and efficient cytological results which are in good agreement with the 'gold standard' - incisional biopsy followed by histopathology.

This study aimed to compare the biological properties of newly synthesized cements based on calcium phosphate with a commercially used cement, mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA). Strontium (Sr)-, Copper (Cu)-, and Zinc (Zn)-doped hydroxyapatite (miHAp) powder was obtained through hydrothermal synthesis and characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry (EDX). Calcium phosphate cement (CPC) was produced by mixing miHAp powder with a 20 wt.% citric acid solution, followed by the assessment of its compressive strength, setting time, and in vitro bioactivity. Acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) was added to the CPC, resulting in CPCA. Biological tests were conducted on CPC, CPCA, and MTA. The biocompatibility of the cement extracts was evaluated in vitro using human dental pulp stem cells (hDPSCs) and in vivo using a zebrafish model. Antibiofilm and antimicrobial effect (quantified by CFUs/mL) were assessed against Streptococcus mutans and Lactobacillus rhamnosus. None of the tested materials showed toxicity, while CPCA even increased hDPSCs proliferation. CPCA showed a better safety profile than MTA and CPC, and no toxic or immunomodulatory effects on the zebrafish model. Black pepper is one of the most used spices around the world, with numerous biological activities. Precisely because of the frequent use of this spice, the aim of this research was to determine the elemental composition of black pepper fruit ethanol extracts (BPEEs). The presence of heavy metals in spices is of particular importance because it can lead to the accumulation of these elements in human organs, which can further cause various health problems. The preparation of samples was done by dilution of the initial extracts with distilled water to a concentration of 0.5 mg/cm3. In the group of spice macroelements, the concentration of potassium is the highest of all the tested elements (20.412-26.370 mg/g of dry extract). From the group of heavy metals, bismuth was the most present in the range of 0.134-0.156 mg/g of dry extract, while lead, cadmium, and mercury were detected in smaller amounts. The extracts that contained elevated levels of certain heavy metals should be consistently monitored. However, it is crucial to develop effective procedures for removing already-extracted heavy metals from BPEEs. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Language is most effectively acquired through communication. In order to practice speaking skills, it is necessary to encourage students to communicate regardless of the method of teaching used by the teacher. Communication does not necessarily occur in class when teachers ask usual questions concerning information from text materials and students give typical answers which are grammatically correct and in full sentences. Communication in class occurs when a teacher initiates real, genuine conversation about the attitudes and opinions of the speakers. In spontaneous, everyday speech, speakers tend to use short, intermittent sentences, as well as various skills of interaction and conversation, such as false starts, parataxis, reformulations, hesitation devices and others. The aim of this paper is to investigate how much genuine communication happens using teacher-centered method, in comparison to pair and group work in two senior grade classes of primary school. We will first analyze the two teachers' teacher-centered classes example and try to determine the kind of communication that takes place there. Then we will compare the quality and quantity of communication, as well as the number of participants in it, with the results obtained with the same students in group tasks. The goal is to determine which method of work and the way in which it is performed encourages the development of students' communicative competence.

Background/Aim: Geographic tongue (GT), a benign self-limiting condition (inflammation) is commonly seen in practice. Although quite easy for clinical diagnosis, in clinical practice it is commonly misdiagnosed and treated as Candida infection. The main aim of this study was to compare the prevalence of Candida spp. on tongue in patients with GT and subjects with clinically healthy oral mucosa. Additional aims were to evaluate subjective symptoms, uncontrolled usage of prescribed or non-prescribed antifungal topical medications and the presence of the cancerophobia or other health concerns in patients with GT.

Background/Aim: The aim of this study was to examine prevalence of different Candida spp. at diabetics and nondiabetics wearing dentures without clinical signs of Denture Stomatitis (DS) and to study if some local and systematic factors are confounders for harboring Candida at these subjects. Material and Methods: Total of 60 subjects wearing partial or complete upper acrylic denture having at least half of palatal mucosa covered by denture were selected and stratified into three experimental groups: systematically health subjects; patients with diagnosed Type 2 Diabetes (T2D) and good glycoregulation; and T2D subjects with poorly regulated blood sugar level. Cotton swab samples were obtained from each patient from hard palate mucosa and denture surface. Swab cultures were made on Sabouraud dextrose agar and ChromAgar Media for distinciton of various Candida spp. Density growth was also measured. Results: Frequency of Candida spp. findings were similar between groups. At healthy subjects, only C.albicans was detected. At diabetics, C.albicans was the most common isolated species, followed by C.glabrata and C.tropicalis. Negative finding of yeasts on palatal mucosa, but positive on denture surface were detected at all groups, with the highest frequency (33.4%) at diabetics with poor glycoregulation. Denture surface was heavier colonized than hard palate mucosa. Duration of diabetes in years were only independent predictors for harboring Candida spp. at denture surface (Exp B=1.186, CI=1.047-1.344, p=0.007). Conclusions: Prosthesis of denture wearers without DS may serve as reservoir of Candida spp. Presence of more pathogenic and resistant non-albicans species are related to diabetics, even without clinical signs of DS.

The purpose of the flotation process control is optimization the concentrate grade and recovery, while maximizing profits. Consequently, the research into modeling and control of this process has always been an important area in control engineering practice. This paper presents the results of development and validation the predictive models, based on the ANFIS hybrid system. Models predict the values of copper concentrate and tailings grade as well as copper recovery in the flotation plant 'Veliki Krivelj'. The copper content in the feed ore, collector consumption in the rough flotation stage and consumption of frother, were selected as the independent variables. Other technical and technological parameters, relevant for the process of flotation concentration were considered constant. The results of the models validation have showed that the models provide the good predictions of changes in the copper concentrate grade, while the predictions of changes in the copper recovery and tailings grade are somewhat poorer.

In order to provide better and easier loading of useful component and overburden, the drilling and blasting belong to the important work operations at the open pits. Borehole drilling represents a source of harmful respirable mineral dust beside the applied measures for its prevention at the place of creation. Dust emissions during borehole drilling depends on a method and speed of drilling, borehole diameter, mechanical rock properties and applied method to capture dust in order to suppress the dust concentration in the working and living environment of the open pit.

The paper analyzes forces acting on a piece of raw material in a jaw crusher with a simple motion of the moving jaw, and based on this defines the formula to define the optimal number of revolutions the eccentric shaft. Under the optimum number of revolution the eccentric shaft, the number of revolutions is assumed to ensure that the crusher achieves the maximum crushing capacity.
