Abstract

Optical charging spectroscopy (OCS) of BSO crystals reveals that traps exist in the 0.2 to 1.1 eV energy range. The number of trapping levels measured from OCS exceeds that from thermally stimulated current method. Polarity changes in the discharging current indicate that trapping levels can function as hole and electron traps. Trapped carrier concentration in deep levels depends exponentially on irradiation temperature.

Abstract

The thermal spray is a domain connected to the welding process that obtains layers with special properties by using ferrous and non-ferrous add-on materials or ceramic ones, polymers, composites and others. Depending on the selected material, the obtained layers gain several types of resistance, such as: resistance to abrasion, corrosion, thermal shocks, electric and thermal insulator. This paper analyses the different aspects of the high-velocity thermal spray such as High Velocity Oxygen Fuel, High Velocity Air Fuel and Cold Spray, with their advantages and drawbacks, both from a technical and financial point of view. We will discuss their applicability in the automotive industry for producing new high-quality prices or for reconditioning weathered surfaces. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Summary: Arthroscopic subacromial decompression is traditionally performed through a posterolateral viewing portal and a lateral working portal. We describe the same procedure by using a posterolateral viewing portal and a posteromedial working portal. Because this portal is in the same sagittal plane as the ipsilateral acromioclavicular joint, it allows performing an arthroscopic excision arthroplasty of this joint. Abstract

The pneumatic muscle is system based on a contracting membrane, which, under the action of compressed air increases its diameter and decreases its length. The current paper present a finite element analysis of a pneumatic muscle used as actuator for one isokinetic equipment designed for rehabilitation. Traditional rehabilitation devices are usually driven by electric motors, which are typically rigid in nature and may cause discomfort or even pain during continuous passive motion. The study focuses on the influence of the powder cladding with electric charges upon the adhesion strength of the layers that were deposited through the process of recondition by thermal spraying. The flame and metallizing system CastDyn DS 8000 and Proxon 21021 powder had been used. By this procedure, we have in view, the improvement of the exploitation period of the pieces but also a diminution of their prices,and, thus, it is necessary to increase the physical, chemical and technological characteristics of the deposited layers.
