The microbiological quality of air in working environments is a very current topic. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of a machine equipped with EPA filters and photocatalytic activity. This type of treatment combines a physical action with a chemical activity. The latter occurs thanks to the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), responsible for a marked bactericidal activity. The search for new sanitization techniques pushes companies to invest to improve the quality of work of their employees. Many tools are sold on the market, but it is important to check their actual effectiveness. Monitoring the activity of air treatments is always very complex, due to the variability and heterogeneity of airborne microorganisms. This study was conducted in a typical working environment, to better simulate normal conditions of use. To avoid potentially pathogenic contamination, microorganisms typically recountable in the air matrix were not used, but the species of bacteria Lactococcus lactis was used. These microorganisms are also naturally present in the outdoor environment and represent a population of bacteria that could potentially cause indoor air pollution. The results confirm the effectiveness of this type of treatment. It was not possible to determine the impact of the catalytic feature installed.

The increasing focus on the health of individuals has forced a strong acceleration on research and development of new technologies to abate the microbiological component. The pandemic generated by the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has imparted an even greater impetus in this direction. In large and busy environments, it is essential to implement existing air purification and surface cleaning techniques, to reduce the concentrations of microorganisms present as much as possible: for the abatement of airborne bacterial loads, physical methods (e.g., HEPA filters) are used, while, for surfaces, chemicals of different compositions (detergents and bactericides) are often used. The use of ultraviolet radiation is proving to be a very viable alternative for this purpose. The use of UV lamps coupled with automated systems allow constant service to prevent the spread of microbiological populations. The study reported here aims to verify the features of the bactericidal action produced by the ARIS-K2 robot. This specific machine is equipped with 6 UV-C mercury lamps, which emit electromagnetic radiation at a wavelength value of 253.7 nm. Ultraviolet light is divided into three categories, depending on the wavelength: UV-A (315-400 nm), UV-B (280-315 nm) and UV-C (100-280 nm). UV-C radiation is demonstrated to have the greatest microbicidal effect. The conducted study analyzes the survival of bacterial populations distributed on surfaces at varying distances from the robot and in the presence of obstacles. The results were also analyzed considering the dose-exposure time relationship to which the colonies were subjected.

Resumo A partir de novas tecnologias como a adição de microfibras de celulose nas argamassas, pode-se obter uma melhoria do desempenho de revestimentos no estado plástico, principalmente porque as microfibras apresentam características hidrofílicas. Contudo, as características físicas e químicas dessas adições, bem como a concentração empregada nas misturas, devem ser controladas para manter um comportamento adequado para as argamassas. O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a influência da inserção de microfibras de celulose no teor de ar, na retenção de água e na reologia de argamassas. Foram empregados três tipos de microfibras em três teores. Os resultados mostraram que as adições alteraram as características dos materiais e, por isso, há um limite de inserção de microfibra e que é importante analisar as características da microfibra, a fim de atender o desempenho ideal para cada aplicação de argamassa. Abstract New technology, such as cellulose microfiber addition, can improve the performance of fresh mortars moret due to the the fibers’ hydrophilic characteristics. However, the additions’ physical and chemical characteristics, such as the ratio used in the mix, should be controlled to keep the mortars’ behavior suitable. The aim of this work is to evaluate the influence of cellulose microfibers on mortars air ratio, water retention and rheology. Three types of microfibers with three different ratios were used in this research. The results showed that the additions modified the materials’ characteristics and, for these reasons, it should have a limit of microfiber insertion, and, it is important to analyze its characteristics in to attempt the ideal development of each mortar application.

This article proposes a reflection on the degree to which European unification has reduced the differences between member states. On the one hand there are the cultures of family, secularisation, education, cultural patterns of consumption, trust in the political system, on the other hand life chances, in terms of work, poverty, life expectancy. The analysis showed, in the comparison between member states, structured and significant convergences and divergences, emblematic, for Italy, Spain, and some ex-Soviet countries, of an incomplete and contradictory transition.

Trata, o presente artigo, do estudo do instituto da negociação coletiva trabalhista por meio de um breve histórico e de sua conceituação, passando por sua contextualização, importância e utilidade em relação ao Decreto-Lei 5.424, de 1º de maio de 1943. O estudo aborda, ainda, os efeitos causados pela inovação legislativa trazida pela Lei 13.467, de 11 de novembro de 2017, denominada “reforma trabalhista”, comparativo que se dá não só pela análise da modificação dos artigos da Consolidação das Leis do Trabalho (CLT), mas também pelas novas formas a serem adotadas frente à reformulação das bases teóricas e principiológicas introduzidas no ordenamento jurídico brasileiro e pela investigação acerca das perspectivas doutrinárias sobre as modificações implementadas.

RESUMO O presente artigo tem por finalidade analisar com base na pesquisa bibliográfica se é aplicável o Estado de bem-estar social no Brasil e se pode ser efetivo. Discorre sobre como se originaram o Estado liberal (burguês) e o Estado social ou de providência (intervencionista), posicionando-os na história, tanto das revoluções quanto das crises que os embasaram, traçando seus conceitos, características, aplicação e crises. Buscar demonstrar o contexto histórico, com base nas Constituições brasileiras, desde a imperial de 1824 até a democrática de 1988, a origem do Estado de bem-estar social no Brasil, até que ponto tem respaldo para ser aplicado, se pode ser efetivo ou não. ABSTRACTThe purpose of this article is to analyze, based on bibliographical research, whether the State of social welfare in Brazil is applicable and can be effective. It discusses how the liberal (bourgeois) state and the social or providential state (interventionist) originated, placing them in the history of both the revolutions and the crises that underpinned them, tracing their concepts, characteristics, application and crises. Seeking to demonstrate the historical context, based on the Brazilian Constitutions, from the imperial of 1824 to the democratic of 1988, the origin of the welfare state in Brazil, to what extent has support to be applied, whether it can be effective or not . RESUMO Discorre o presente texto brevemente sobre a origem e desenvolvimento histórico da franquia no âmbito do direito privado, sua definição doutrinária e legal, regulação normativa pela Lei n. 8.955, de 15 de dezembro de 1994, distinção e semelhanças com o contrato de concessão, e, a possibilidade de aplicação na Administração Pública, com suas vantagens, desvantagens e limitações. Apresenta também opinião doutrinária favorável e contrária à implementação do modelo de contrato de franquia no âmbito da Administração Pública indireta. Considera a aplicação da franquia no caso da Copel e das agências dos Correios, bem como as perspectivas para a utilização em larga escala de tal sistema. Tomosynthesis (DBT) has proven to be more sensitive than digital mammography, but it requires longer reading time. We retrospectively compared accuracy and reading times of a simplified protocol with 1-cm-thick slabs versus a standard protocol of slabs + 1-mm-spaced planes, both integrated with synthetic 2D. We randomly selected 894 DBTs (including 12 cancers) from the experimental arm of the RETomo trial. DBTs were read by two radiologists to estimate specificity. A second set of 24 cancers (8 also present in the first set) mixed within 276 negative DBTs was read by two radiologists. In total, 28 cancers with 64 readings were used to estimate sensitivity. Radiologists read with both protocols separated by a 3-month washout. Only women that were positive at the screening reading were assessed. Variance was estimated taking into account repeated measures. Sensitivity was 82.8% (53/64, 95% confidence interval (95% CI) 67.2–92.2) and 90.6% (95% CI 80.2–95.8) with simplified and standard protocols, respectively. In the random screening setting, specificity was 97.9% (1727/1764, 95% CI 97.1–98.5) and 96.3% (95% CI 95.3–97.1), respectively. Inter-reader agreement was 0.68 and 0.54 with simplified and standard protocols, respectively. Median reading times with simplified protocol were 20% to 30% shorter than with standard protocol. A simplified protocol reduced reading time and false positives but may have a negative impact on sensitivity. • The adoption of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) in screening, more sensitive than mammography, could be limited by its potential effect on the radiologists’ workload, i.e., increased reading time and fatigue. • A DBT simplified protocol with slab only, compared to a standard protocol (slab plus planes) both integrated with synthetic 2D, reduced time and false positives but had a negative impact on sensitivity.

As fibras de celulose podem ser produzidas a partir de diversos tipos de espécies vegetais, sejam elas plantas ou madeiras dependendo da disponibilidade de cada região, no Brasil sua produção pode ser encontrada em praticamente todas as regiões tornando essa adição nas argamassas viável. Em função da sua cristalinidade e alto grau de polimerização a celulose costuma apresentar maior estabilidade aos efeitos de degradação mecânica e química quando comparadas aos componentes não celulósicos capazes de formar fibras, que também são aplicados como adição de argamassas. As argamassas de revestimento permitem que as edificações recebam o acabamento adequado além da proteção das estruturas aos agentes agressivos do ambiente, desta forma devem ser objeto de pesquisas que visem a melhoria do seu desempenho. Buscando evitar as manifestações patológicas que comumente surgem nos revestimentos e por consequência podem impactar diretamente na vida útil dos mesmos, a aplicação de fibras de celulose na mistura das argamassas pode contribuir de forma positiva no desempenho dos revestimentos tanto no seu estado plástico quanto em seu estado endurecido, as características reológicas das argamassas também podem ser modificadas através da adição de fibras, fazendo com que o produto final apresente melhorias como um todo para o uso na construção civil. Este trabalho verificará de que forma a fibra de celulose irá atuar no desempenho das argamassas, tanto no seu estado fresco como no seu estado endurecido. Palavras-chave: 1. Abstract: Currently the construction industry has been seeking the development of new and alternative materials that provide improvement of final product performance, increasing productivity, reducing cost, and focus on sustainability with the use of recyclable waste. The cellulose fibers can be produced from several types of plant species, be they plants or wood depending on the availability of each region, in Brazil its production can be found in practically all the regions making this addition in the mortars viable. Due to its crystallinity and high degree of polymerization, cellulose usually presents greater stability to the effects of mechanical and chemical degradation when compared to non-cellulosic components capable of forming fibers, which are also applied as mortar addition. Coating mortars allow the buildings to receive the appropriate finish in addition to protecting the structures from the aggressive agents of the environment. In this way, they must be researched to improve their performance. In order to avoid the pathological manifestations that commonly appear in the coatings and consequently can directly impact on their useful life, the application of cellulose fibers in the mixture of mortars can contribute positively to the performance of coatings both in their plastic state and in their state The rheological characteristics of the mortars can also be modified by the addition of fibers, so that the final product presents improvements as a whole for use in construction. Acidentes e Violências comprometem pessoas de todas as idades e ambos os sexos. No Brasil e no mundo é crescente o número de ví­timas com lesões intencionais ou não. As publicações têm se referido í s conseqüências fatais e suas diferentes causas porém pouco se conhece í respeito desses indiví­duos que,chegando ao primeiro atendimento,não evoluem para o êxito letal. Com o objetivo de relatar os diferentes fatores e informações envolvidos no atendimento í s ví­timas não fatais de acidentes e violências nos diversos serviços de emergência do Hospital Central da Irmandade da Santa Casa de Misericórdia de São Paulo, foram aplicados 6.393 questionários padronizados referentes í s causas externas de morbidade e mortalidade no Estado de São Paulo. Foi realizado um estudo multicêntrico e transversal em várias unidades hospitalares do Municí­pio e Estado de São Paulo, relataram-se o perfil sócio-demográfico, as circunstâncias do evento, as conseqüências fí­sicas imediatas, tipo e localização das lesões e o encaminhamento após o 1º atendimento de emergência da ví­tima: a digitação dos dados foi elaborada e tratada em banco de dados especí­fico, desenvolvido por meio do Epi-info-Windows-322. Houve predomí­nio do sexo masculino, na faixa dos 20 aos 40 anos de idade, de raça branca, de residência predominante no Municí­pio de São Paulo e com escolaridade do 1º grau. Pouco mais da metade dos eventos ocorreu em via pública ou em local de trabalho; o meio de deslocamento mais utilizado foi o ônibus além da deambulação. As quedas e os acidentes de trânsito predominaram, enquanto as violências aparecem registradas sem especificação. Quanto aos tipos de lesão, ¼ referem-se í contusões e cortes, seguidos dos TCE. As regiões do corpo mais comprometidas foram o segmento cefálico e os membros superiores. A maioria dos socorridos (90%), teve alta após o atendimento. Conclui-se que os resultados referentes ao tipo de lesão estão de acordo com a literatura especializada e, no que se refere í utilização dos serviços de emergência do Hospital Central da ISCMSP,foi possí­vel traçar o perfil do usuário que nos procurou durante o perí­odo de pesquisa.,bem como avaliar o atendimento das suas necessidades.Descritores: Serviços médicos de emergência, Violência, Acidentes, Morbidade, Fatores socioeconômicos

Este trabajo constituye un peldaño más para fortalecer la cultura de servicio en Ecuador. Si con este proyecto se logra crear un espacio donde empresarios tengan la apertura para recibir reconocimientos y reclamos por parte de los consumidores digitales: y, por otro lado, que dichos consumidores puedan canalizar sus opiniones de manera formal, adecuada y estructurada, esto ya constituirá un avance en la incipiente cultura de reclamo que hoy existe en Ecuador, donde el empresario tiene temor a compartir con la comunidad sus áreas de mejora y más temor de que los consumidores generen reclamos no procedentes, por eso optan por crear una estructura interna para que los problemas se resuelvan a puertas cerradas. Este prototipo es el primer paso para poder crear espacios donde ambos perfiles maduren sobre expectativas justas sobre calidad de servicio, de manera que sea un ganar-ganar para ambas partes. Para el desarrollo del prototipo se ha delimitado el campo al área de servicios y los conceptos aplicados incluyen calidad de servicio, recuperación de servicio desde la perspectiva de la justicia percibida que genera reacciones de Reconocimiento y Condena por parte de los consumidores, así como criterios de valoración de servicios centrados en satisfacción, intención de compra y recomendación , lo cual gracias al boca a boca digital permite potenciar negocios a través de los comentarios de sus consumidores. The volumes on World War I which are published here are the result of a series of seminars held at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Florence between 2014 and 2015. Starting from the occasion of the war’s 100th anniversary, the authors wished to take stock of some specific aspects of the studies related to World War I. Historians, military analysts, political scientists and sociologists have also questioned the meaning of the fracture which inaugurated the 20th century and, consequently, the basic features of the new policy of the 'short century', in both an Italian and European perspective.I volumi sulla Grande Guerra che qui si pubblicano sono il frutto di una serie di seminari tenuti presso il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali dell’Universita di Firenze tra il 2014 e il 2015. A partire dall’occasione del centenario, si e voluto fare il punto su alcuni aspetti specifici degli studi relativi al primo conflitto mondiale. Storici, analisti militari, politologi e sociologi si sono altresi interrogati sul senso della frattura che ha inaugurato il Novecento e, di conseguenza, sui tratti di fondo della nuova politica propria del ‘secolo breve’, in una prospettiva sia italiana che europea.

Severity of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) can be graded using the classification released in the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) report. Such classification is essentially based on spirometry and does not recognise the role of other measures. The aim of this study was to assess whether the GOLD stages correlate with the extent of pulmonary emphysema and other ancillary computed tomography CT features in a population of smokers with stable COPD.Based on clinical assessment and lung-function testing, patients were classified according to the GOLD criteria. CT scans were visually evaluated for extent of emphysema and airway abnormalities.A total of 43 patients were enrolled. The amount of emphysema was described as minimal in six patients with stage 0, and as moderate in seven patients with stage 0. In stages I and II, the extent of emphysema ranged from minimal to severe, whereas we observed the presence of severe emphysema in most patients in stages III and IV. According to the regression model, only CT emphysema extent independently predicted the GOLD stage (r2 = 0.58; p0.001). The cutoff value of emphysema extent of 31.5% allowed us to distinguish patients with a GOLD stageor = III.Although we found a significant correlation between CT emphysema extent and GOLD stages, different percentage of emphysema extent can be observed among each GOLD stage. The upper limit of 31.5% of emphysema extent may indicate a boundary for a clinically worsening status.
