Abstract

RMN+ECI2D+DLR:CGE:CLO:EPU; International audience; H2 production from renewable sources is a potential key solution to energetic transition. Glycerol is interesting due to the high H-content. In the present study Pt and Ni supported TiO2 photocatalysts where tested during reforming of alcohol solutions. Combined GC analysis helps to identify intermediates and understand the reaction kinetics.

Abstract

SSCI-VIDE+CARE+CGU:MHM:PVE; International audience; Several studies have shown that volatile organic compounds (VOCs) can be concentrated in the car, enclosed and confined at rates higher than those of outdoor air [1]. Thus, the air quality is almost always less good inside and is degraded according to external parameters, ex. confined areas of traffic (eg tunnels) [2] or depending on the season (increase in VOC by 40% during summer, due to high temperatures). The presence of these VOCs in vehicle cabin air is responsible for allergies, respiratory problems, skin problems. As people spend a lot of their time in their vehicle [3], for example, in France, 73% of active population (18 million people) use their vehicles every day to go to work and spends an average of 78 minutes per day that is 3 years and 4 months of their life! [4], it is essential to develop an efficient device to remove them. Indeed, most of the actual depollution systems are based on adsorption of these compounds to store them.The QAIcar project aims to develop an air handling equipment dedicated to the automotive interior allowing to destroy microorganisms and VOCs.The project includes 3 innovations:- the coupling of catalysis at room temperature with photocatalysis- the development of a bactericidal luminous textile which will serve support for the coupling of catalyst and photocatalyst.- the concept of a compact reactor integrating the active luminous textile into a multilayer.This project brings together three academic laboratories, IRCELYON, CIRI and LMFA, a small and medium-sized enterprise, Brochier technologies, a mid-size companies, EFI Lighting who is the project leader and two big groups, St; Gobain CREE and the automotive manufacturer, PSA Group.In the poster will be describe the existing locks motivating the project, the objectives, the consortium and the structuring of the project as well as the first results[1] Delaunay C., Goupil G., Ravelomanantsoa H., Person A., Mazoué S., Morawski F., , Pollution atmosphérique 2012 ; 215 : 247 – 258[2] De Pas A., Boissavy-Vineau M., Bull. Abstract

SSCI-VIDE+CARE+MHM:PVE:CGU; International audience; The photocatalytic process is an efficient method to remove chemical and microbiological pollutants from indoor air in automotive cabin. In the present work, luminous textile was used at first as light source in the photocatalytic degradation of a mixture of pollutants and compared to classical UV lamp. Then, it was used both as light source and a (photo)catalytic support. In this case, the durability and the deposition quality have been optimized in order to preserve good photocatalytic efficiency. This innovative textile combining light source with photocatalyst has advantage of allowing the development of compact reactor with considerable gain of energy.

Abstract

After about ten years of research, Self-cleaning glasses have been commercialized in 2001. The principle is based on the photocatalytic properties of a submicronic layer of TiO2 deposited on their surface. Under UV solar irradiation and in presence of oxygen, they are able to degrade organic stains adsorbed at the surface. The present work aims to provide a better understanding of the interactions between TiO2 layer and real stains, as well as to evaluate the photocatalytic degradation kinetics of model pollutants by the glasses. The influence of different parameters such as the temperature, the characteristics of the irradiation, the nature of the different pollutant families has been studied and correlated to the performances of the glasses.; Après une dizaine d'années de recherche, les verres autonettoyants ont été commercialisés en 2001. Leur principe est basé sur les propriétés photocatalytiques d'une couche submicronique de TiO2 déposée à leur surface. Sous l'action du rayonnement solaire et en présence d'oxygène, ils sont capables de dégrader les salissures organiques adsorbées en surface. Le présent travail a pour but d'apporter une meilleure compréhension des interactions entre la couche TiO2 et les salissures réelles, ainsi que d'évaluer les cinétiques de dégradation photocatalytique de polluants modèles par les verres. L'influence de différents paramètres tels que la température, les caractéristiques de l'irradiation, la nature des familles des polluants a été étudiée et corrélée aux performances des verres.

Abstract

In the context of designing a photocatalytic self-cleaning/low-fouling membrane, the stability of PVDF-PVP-TiO 2 hollow-fiber membranes under UV irradiation has been studied. The effect of irradiation power, aqueous environment composition and fouling state on the properties of the membranes has been investigated. With this aim, SEM observations, chemical analysis and tensile strength measurements have been conducted. The results indicate that pristine membranes that undergo UV irradiation in ultra-pure water are significantly degraded due to attacks of OH° radicals. However, when methylene blue, used as a model pollutant, is introduced in the aqueous environment, OH° radicals preferentially react with this molecule rather than the membranes, successfully preserving the original properties of the latter. The presence of an adsorbed BSA layer (pre-fouling by immersion) on the surface of the membrane delays membrane aging, as the BSA layer is degraded by radicals instead of the membrane material. The degradation of the BSA layer also validates the self-cleaning properties of the membrane. However, when membranes are pre-fouled by filtration of a 2 g/L BSA solution, delay to aging is less. This is because OH° radicals do not reach BSA molecules that are trapped inside the membrane pores, and therefore react with the membrane material.

Abstract

Monobasic ethers of 1,2-dihydropyrrolo[1,2-a]indole, 6H-isoindolo[2,1-a]indole, and 6H-benz[5,6]isoindolo[2,1-a]indole and bis-basic ethers of 6H-isoindolo[2,1-a]indole were prepared using an intramolecular Wittig cyclization as a key step. All these compounds were firstly evaluated for their cytotoxicity effects against L1210 cell line. Only the tetracyclic bis-basic ether 14d displayed submicromolar cytotoxic effect. Moreover, despite the fact that the presence of these two amino side chains in 14c, 14d, and 14f led to strong DNA binding effect, they are not topoisomerase II inhibitors. Among the monobasic ethers 14a, 14b, 22, and 29, which do not bind to DNA, the pentacyclic analog 29 exhibited micromolar cytotoxic activity against L1210 and HT-29 cell lines and induced a weak topoisomerase II inhibition.
