International audience; This talk presents advances in numerical methods for the simulation of single-phase flow, reactive transport and solid geometry evolution at the pore scale, involving dissolution, precipitation and crystallization, and will be structured in three parts.Firstly, we will present the semi-Lagrangian approach of the problem and the related models, involving particle/Lagrangian treatment of the transport phenomena and reactions, and underlying grids for the diffusion and flow computation. Frequent remeshing procedure is required in order to keep particles on a regular network, in order to avoid holes of information and particle accumulation. This remeshing technique is either high order but can generated sign changes, which is unacceptable in chemistry, or low order but leads to spurious diffusion. An a posteriori kernel selection will be provided in order deal with this difficulty.Secondly, we will describe the validation of the method by a dissolution process of 2D and 3D calcite cores (including experimental validation) with a benchmark approach. Five codes are used to obtain the solution to this benchmark problem, including Chombo-Crunch, OpenFOAM-DBS, a lattice Boltzman code, the present semi-Lagrangian method, and dissolFoam. These codes cover a good portion of the wide range of approaches typically employed for solving pore-scale problems in the literature, including discretization methods, characterization of the fluid-solid interfaces, and methods to move these interfaces as a result of fluid-solid reactions. Results from the simulations performed by the five codes show remarkable agreement both quantitatively based on upscaled parameters such as surface area, solid volume and effective reaction rate and qualitatively based on comparisons of shape evolution. This outcome is especially notable given the disparity of approaches used by the codes.Thirdly, we will focus on the simulations of precipitation and crystallization. This last aspect can include either the rheology of precipitation or the crystal growth, and the ability to manage the divergence of the velocity induced by the reaction and its related evolution of the global volumic mass. Indeed, in this context, a fast change of state from liquid to solid means incompressible but non divergence-free flows.

Desde el punto de vista práctico se ha desarrollado desde el inicio hasta las artes finales todo el conjunto de identidad corporativa para el festival, manteniendo una imagen neutral, dinámica y joven con el propósito de crear un festival, donde la música sea el medio para dar visibilidad a las diferentes realidades en cuanto a la sostenibilidad y nuestras acciones en eventos de gran envergadura, difundiendo la teoría del diseño sostenible como un medio para mejorar estos eventos. This Final Degree Project is a corporate brand project that has been created as a fictitious brand. The brand, Happy Whale Rock Festival, is based on the idea of a rock music festival based on the concept of sustainable design, located in the city of Ibiza. From a practical point of view, the whole set of corporate identity for the festival has been developed from the beginning to the final arts, maintaining a neutral, dynamic and young image with the purpose of creating a festival, where music is the means to give visibility to the different realities regarding sustainability and our actions in major events, spreading the theory of sustainable design as a means to improve these events.

Introduction: the treatment of infections following hip (THA) and knee prosthesis (TKA) by changing the implant in one or two stages with antibiotic therapy is a complex procedure that can be associated with complications. However, the occurrence of severe adverse events (SAEs) and their associated risk factor during this treatment has been little evaluated. Objective: the objective of our study was the description of SAEs in the medico-surgical management of hip and knee infections (PJI), and the identification of risk factors associated with their occurrence. Patients and methods: a retrospective study including patients treated for THA or TKA infection in a reference center for osteoarticular infections (CRIOA) with 1 or 2-stage implant replacement. The objective was to describe Grade ≥ 3 SAEs that occurred within 6 weeks of the start of surgical management of the infection (CTCAE classification, grade 3: Significant event without a life-threatening condition, grade 4; life-threatening, grade 5: death). Results: one hundred and eighteen patients were identified between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2017. The average age was 71 years (range: 43-90 years) and 66 patients were male (55.9 %). Seventy-three patients (61.9 %) had THA infection and 45 (38.1 %) had TKA infection. Patients had the following comorbidities: heart disease (n = 47, of which 18 patients on VKA and 6 on DOACs), immunodeficiency or history of neoplasia (n = 37), diabetes (n = 18), obesity (n = 16) or chronic kidney insufficiency (n = 8). We observed 191 all-grade adverse events, including 71 SAE in 50 patients (42.3 %). Sixteen SAEs had an evolution of the infection. The remaining 55 SAEs occurred in 41 patients (34.7 %). This consisted of 47 SAE grade 3 and 8 SAE grade 4. These 55 SAEs were distributed as follows: 17 bleedings requiring transfusion, 9 cardiopulmonary, 7 antibiotic-related, 8 infectious, unrelated to osteoarticular infection, 5 acute renal failures and / or ionic disorders, 4 mechanical surgical complications, 4 neurological or digestive SAE and 1 hematologic SAE. The risk factors identified were two-stage management, with OR 4.27 95% CI [1.31-13.92], p = 0.016 and obesity with OR 3.49 CI 95 % [1.01-11.98], p = 0.047. Conclusion: the occurrence of SAE is frequent within 6 weeks following a change of joint prosthesis for infection and is related to the frequency of comorbidities in this population. The risk factors significantly associated with these SAEs are obesity and prosthetic change in two stages., Introduction : le traitement des infections de prothèse de hanche (PTH) et de genou (PTG) par changement de l’implant en un ou deux temps avec antibiothérapie correspond à des procédures complexes qui peuvent être associées à des complications. La survenue d’événements indésirables sévères (EIS) et leur facteur de risque associés au cours de cette prise en charge a été cependant peu évaluée. Objectif : l’objectif de notre étude était la description des EIS lors de la prise en charge médico-chirurgicale des IPA de hanche et de genou, et l’identification des facteurs de risque associés à leur survenue. Patients et méthode : Étude rétrospective incluant les patients traités pour infection de PTH ou de PTG dans un centre de référence infections ostéo-articulaires (CRIOA) avec changement de l’implant en 1 ou 2 temps. L’objectif était de décrire les EIS de grades ≥3 survenus dans les 6 semaines suivant le début de prise en charge chirurgicale de l’infection (classification CTCAE ; grade 3 : évènement significatif sans mise en jeu du pronostic vital, grade 4 : mise en jeu du pronostic vital, grade 5 : décès). Résultats : cent dix-huit patients ont été identifiés entre le 1er janvier 2013 et le 31 décembre 2017. L’âge moyen était de 71 ans (extrêmes : 43-90 ans) et 66 patients étaient de sexe masculin (55,9 %). Soixante-treize patients (61,9 %) avaient une infection de PTH et 45 patients (38,1 %) une infection de PTG. Les patients avaient les comorbidités suivantes : cardiopathies (n = 47, dont 18 patients sous AVK et 6 sous AOD), immunodépression ou antécédent de néoplasie (n = 37), diabète (n = 18), obésité (n = 16) ou insuffisance rénale chronique (n = 8). Nous avons observé 191 événements indésirables tous grades, dont 71 EIS survenus chez 50 patients (42,3 %). Seize EIS correspondaient à une évolutivité de l’infection. Les 55 EIS restants sont survenus chez 41 patients (34.7 %). Il s’agissait de 47 EIS grade 3 et 8 EIS grade 4. Ces 55 EIS se répartissaient comme suit : 17 saignements nécessitant transfusion, 9 de nature cardio-pulmonaire, 7 liés aux antibiotiques, 8 de nature infectieuse sans lien avec l’IOA, 5 insuffisances rénales aiguës et/ou troubles ioniques, 4 complications mécaniques chirurgicales, 4 EIS neurologiques ou digestifs et 1 EIS hématologique. Les facteurs de risque identifiés ont été la prise en charge en deux temps opératoire, avec un OR à 4,27 IC95 % [1,31-13,92], p = 0,016 et l’obésité avec un OR à 3,49 IC95 % [1,01-11,98], p = 0,047. Conclusion : la survenue d’EIS est fréquente dans les 6 semaines suivant un changement de prothèse articulaire pour infection et est en relation avec la fréquence des comorbidités dans cette population. Les facteurs de risque significativement associés à ces EIS sont l’obésité et le changement prothétique en deux temps opératoire.

Pesquisa do Estado do Amazonas The Amazon region is comprised of a variety of aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, being inhabited by human societies. In this variety of environments are aquatic ecosystems such as rivers, lakes and streams. They can also be found terrestrial ecosystems such as upland forests, occupying no wetlands and transition environment forest between the lacustrine fluvial plains and land, making flood lands, as in the environment of the Great Lake system in the Municipality Manacapuru - Amazonas, inhabited by farmers. To understand the survival of these inhabitants the study aimed to analyze the agro-ecosystem landscapes food production from farm families. It was adopted in the survey the theoretical approach of the dialectic of systemic complexity, and to survey the empirical data, we used the case study combining various techniques: field diary, interviews, photographs and mental map. The place described by family farmers demonstrates the knowledge which they had acquired in their courses in aquatic and terrestrial environments. With the appropriation of common environmental goods they reproduce the food-producing landscapes, featuring the agro-ecosystem. In different agroecosystems units is the production of various foods, used by farming families. The operation of the production units is proposed by the farmers themselves, as they are autonomous and have the power of decision, so they decide how all activities should be performed, establishing what should be produced and how it should be produced. From these factors it can be concluded that the production of food is diverse and caters to feed demand from families, being the result of farmer knowledge to appropriate the various existing environmental goods in the environmental system, as well as in adapting to the conditions set in periods of flood and drought water. O funcionamento das unidades de produ????o ?? proposto pelos pr??prios agricultores, pois s??o aut??nomos e possuem o poder de decis??o, desta forma estes decidem como devem ser executadas todas as atividades, estabelecendo o que deve ser produzido e como deve ser produzido. The use of various definitions defining HIV wasting syndrome has made it difficult to determine its actual prevalence. Despite the use of highly active antiretroviral therapy, it is estimated that the prevalence of HIV wasting syndrome is between 14% and 38%. HIV wasting syndrome may stem from conditions affecting chewing, swallowing, or gastrointestinal motility, neurologic disease affecting food intake or the perception of hunger or ability to eat, psychiatric illness, food insecurity generated from psychosocial or economic concerns, or anorexia due to medications, malabsorption, infections, or tumors. Treatment of HIV wasting syndrome may be managed with appetite stimulants (megestrol acetate or dronabinol), anabolic agents (testosterone, testosterone analogs, or recombinant human growth hormone), or, rarely, cytokine production modulators (thalidomide). The goal of this review is to provide an in-depth evaluation based on existing clinical trials on the clinical utility of dronabinol in the treatment of weight loss associated with HIV/AIDS. Although total body weight gain varies with dronabinol use (–2.0 to 3.2 kg), dronabinol is a well-tolerated option to promote appetite stimulation. Further studies are needed with standardized definitions of HIV-associated weight loss and clinical outcomes, robust sample sizes, safety and efficacy data on chronic use of dronabinol beyond 52 weeks, and associated virologic and immunologic outcomes. Cultivation independent microbial ecology research relies on high throughput sequencing technologies and analytical methods to resolve the infinite diversity of microbial life on Earth. Microorganisms live in communities driven by genetic and metabolic processes as well as symbiotic relationships. Interconnected communities of microorganisms provide essential functions in natural and human engineered ecosystems. Modelling the community as an inter-connected system can give insight into the community's functional characteristics related to the biogeochemical processes it performs. Network science resolves associations between elements of structure to notions of function in a system and has been successfully applied to the study of microbial communities and other complex biological systems. Microbial co-occurrence networks are inferred from community composition data to resolve structural patterns related to ecological properties such as community resilience to disturbance and keystone species. However, the interpretation of global and local network properties from an ecological standpoint remains difficult due to the complexity of these systems creating a need for quantitative analytical methods and visualization techniques for co-occurrence networks. This thesis tackles the visualization and analytical challenges of modelling microbial community structure from a network science approach. First, Hive Panel Explorer, an interactive visualization tool, is developed to permit data driven exploration of topological and data association patterns in complex systems. The effectiveness of Hive Panel Explorer is validated by resolving known and novel patterns in a model biological network, the C. elegans connectome. Second, network structural robustness analysis methods are applied to study microbial communities from timber harvested forest soils from a North American longterm soil productivity study. Analyzing these geographically dispersed soils reveals biogeographic patterns of diversity and enables the discovery of conserved organizing principles shaping microbial community structure. The capacity of robustness analysis to identify key microbial community members as well as model shifts in community structure due to environmental change is demonstrated. Finally, this work provides insight into the relationship between microbes and their ecosystem, and characterizing this relationship can help us understand the organization of microbial communities, survey microbial diversity and harness its potential.

L'école maternelle est définie comme le lieu d'accueil de la petite enfance. En France, les enfants qui la fréquentent sont âgés de deux à cinq ans. Hors de la famille, l'école maternelle est par conséquent le lieu de la première éducation pour la très grande majorité des enfants en France. À cette fin, l'école maternelle va beaucoup s'appuyer sur la capacité d'imitation et la capacité d'invention de l'enfant, si particulièrement développées à cet âge-là, ainsi que le plaisir de l'action et du jeu, dans le choix des activités qu'elle va proposer aux élèves. La pratique des activités de coopération à l'école maternelle est un enjeu majeur aussi bien sur le plan éducatif que sur le plan psychologique, car elle semble être en même temps un élément déclencheur de la conscience collective chez le jeune enfant, et la conséquence du développement de ses compétences sociales et relationnelles.
