PURPOSE: The paper fits into the social aspects of disability. The main objective of the study is to determine the change coefficient, which would make it possible to predict economic aspects related to the social demand for the number of Sheltered Employment Workshops (SEW) on the Commercial Labor Market (CLM)., DESIGN/METHODOLOGY/APPROACH: The study uses source literature analysis, empirical and quantitative research: time series analysis and linear regression analysis. The time series analysis made it possible to study the dynamics and needs directions of the number of Sheltered Employment Workshops (SEW) on the Commercial Labor Market (CLM). Linear regression analysis was used to investigate the correlation between SEW and CLM. Empirical research was enriched with an own survey that confirms the social trend., FINDINGS: The results of the research confirmed the hypothesis. Studies have shown that the change coefficient is decreasing, which coincides with the social feeling of the surveyed group of respondents., PRACTICAL IMPLICATIONS: The article will define the determinants of the social and political aspects of the disability community in Poland. These determinants include the number of Sheltered Employment Workshops (SEW) on the Commercial Labor Market (CLM), the percentage of respondents in the surveyed group expressing their social feelings, and political state., ORIGINALITY/VALUE: Based on the analysis of the literature, a research gap was identified in terms of the social aspects of disability in the concept of labor market. This study will contribute to the knowledge on the labor market condition, including the group of people, who still are not integrated part of our community. The study also contributes to the open discussion on the possibility of professional activation of people with disabilities and can be used in the creation of the state, local government and local policy in the studied area., peer-reviewed

La pandèmia de la COVID-19 ha tingut un impacte important en la inclusió laboral de les persones amb discapacitat intel·lectual. Aquest article es proposa analitzar de quina manera ha afectat el Coronavirus en l’àmbit laboral d’aquest col·lectiu. L’estudi s’emmarca en el context català, a partir de les experiències de vuit persones amb discapacitat intel·lectual i la de tres preparadors professionals que els acompanyen en el seu recorregut laboral, mitjançant el treball amb suport (TAS), d’una entitat que ofereix serveis de suport de formació i inserció laboral a l’empresa ordinària per a persones amb discapacitat intel·lectual i/o malaltia mental. Els resultats obtinguts permeten detectar les diferents barreres i suports laborals existents durant la COVID-19, i també millores per optimitzar la inclusió laboral del col·lectiu en entorns normalitzats The COVID-19 pandemic has had a major impact on the employment of people with intellectual disabilities. This article aims to analyze how Coronavirus has affected the this group’s woekplace . The study is centered on the Catalan context, based on the experiences of eight people with intellectual disabilities and three professional trainers who accompany them in their careers, through work with support (TAS), an entity that offers training support services and job placement in the ordinary company for people with intellectual disabilities and / or mental illness. The results obtained show the different barriers and the existing work supports during the COVID-19, and also presents improvements to optimize the inclusion of the group in normalized work environments

The literature review aims to answer the research question: what are the characteristics of current good practice in employment programs for people with disabilities? The paper reviews literature from 2013 to 2018 to identify the barriers to and facilitators of meaningful employment for people with disabilities. Eight good practice characteristics, derived from the literature, are explored in detail. Characteristics identified are interconnected and do not exist in isolation from each other. These characteristics include: consultation with people with disabilities; focus on capabilities; senior management support; inclusive recruitment and hiring practices; workplace adjustments/customised supports; mentoring/natural support; reducing bias in the workplace; and increasing knowledge of disabilities amongst staff.

This report explores how businesses and employers can make meaningful and sustainable employment possible for people with disability. The research selected nine disability employment programs—from Austria, Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America—on the basis of their international commendation. The characteristics which drove success of these programs were determined by in-depth interviews with key figures as well as interviews with employees and analysis of inhouse reports and data. The five key areas critical to the success of these programs, and the five corresponding recommendations for future programs and employers, are articulated.
