Abstract

In this paper, the effect of flexible and rigid porous wall on the detonation propagation velocity in hydrogen-oxygen mixtures is investigated systematically. The roles of hydrogen concentration, initial pressure, porous wall geometry and porosity are considered in detail. Pressure sensors are used to record the time-of-arrival of the detonation wave, and the average velocity of the detonation wave can be obtained. The results indicate that the detonation propagation limit in a tube filled with porous materials is shorter than the value obtained in a smooth tube, and the velocity deficits increase obviously with the increase of the porosity and thickness. In the detonation limit, the velocity of detonation wave decreases firstly and then rises after passing through the absorption wall, which is due to the reflection of the shock wave on the surface of the wall. The reaction rate is increased quickly by introducing the local disturbance in the reaction zone, compensating the adverse effects of the porous wall. Compared with changing porosity, increasing thickness has a more significant effect on detonation attenuation. Abstract

This article introduces a one‐step leapfrog three‐dimensional (3D) split‐field finite‐difference time‐domain (SF‐FDTD) method designed for analyzing periodic structures under oblique incidence, aiming to improve computational efficiency. Initially, it introduces new variables to substitute the field components postsplitting. After that, it applies time‐centered approximate difference method to precisely adjust the time step for each iteration. It eliminates the need for empirical coefficients when performing calculations with lossy materials. Finally, it derives the implementation of the convolutional perfectly matched layer (CPML) for the proposed method. The proposed method is both easier to implement and more resource‐efficient, significantly cutting down CPU usage and memory consumption. Numerical results confirm its improved efficiency. Abstract

As an essential intracellular immune activation pathway, the cGAS‐STING pathway has attracted broad attention in cancer treatment. However, low bioavailability, nonspecificity, and adverse effects of small molecule STING agonists severely limit their therapeutic efficacy and in vivo application. In this study, a peptide‐based STING agonist is first proposed, and KLA is screened out to activate the cGAS‐STING pathway by promoting mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) leakage. To precisely activate the cGAS‐STING pathway and block the PD‐1/PD‐L1 pathway, a multi‐stimuli activatable peptide nanodrug (MAPN) is developed for the effective delivery of KLA and PD‐L1 antagonist peptide (CVR). With rational design, MAPN achieved the site‐specific release of KLA and CVR in response to multiple endogenous stimuli, simultaneously activating the cGAS‐STING pathway and blocking PD‐1/PD‐L1 pathway, ultimately initiating robust and durable T cell anti‐tumor immunity with a tumor growth inhibition rate of 78% and extending the median survival time of B16F10 tumor‐bearing mice to 40 days. Overall, antimicrobial peptides, which can promote mtDNA leakage through damaging mitochondrial membranes, may be potential alternatives for small molecule STING agonists and giving a new insight for the design of novel STING agonists. Abstract

Osteoarthritis is an age-related degenerative joint disease; it is mainly because the cartilage tissue between bones is worn and thinned, which leads to the damage of the periosteum and bone including the surrounding ligaments. Clinically, its manifestations are mainly joint pain, swelling, stiffness, and even partial loss of function, which seriously affects the quality of life of patients. The main clinical manifestations are elbow joint pain and limited movement. Elbow articular cartilage degenerates and falls off, and the more serious manifestation is subchondral hyperosteogeny and sclerosis, which leads to unsmooth articular surface and narrow joint space. Finally, elbow joint pain is severe with different degrees of mobility disorder, elbow joint extension and flexion range is getting smaller and smaller, and elbow joint pain is getting more and more serious. In this paper, the segmentation of left and right elbow images is completed based on gray projection through the analysis of image gray distribution. After obtaining the region of interest of elbow joint, the extraction algorithm of elbow joint hard bone edge is studied. Firstly, the extraction of elbow joint hard bone contour edge is completed based on active shape model algorithm combined with image characteristics. Finally, according to the extraction results of hard bone contour edge, this paper realizes the automatic diagnosis of multiple elbow arthritis indexes and compares with the results given by the image set, which proves that the whole algorithm has good adaptability and accuracy.

47. RIS-Aided Passive Detection for LSS Targets: A GNSS Multipath-Assisted Scheme

Abstract

The complex topography of urban canyons with many reflectors and scatterers makes it challenging to detect low-altitude, smaller, and slow-speed targets. In this paper, we present a novel multipath-assisted passive detection scheme based on the global navigation satellite system signals in urban canyons. We first propose an information-level target detection scheme, where a binary hypothesis test is conducted according to variation in the received signal given the presence or absence of targets in the environment. To take usage of multipath components (MPCs) in the proposed scheme, we introduce virtual anchors to model reflected signals’ propagation paths. We also introduce the reconfigurable intelligent surface to artificially improve the reflective environment and enhance the quality of received MPCs. The detection performance indicators are analyzed theoretically. Simulation results show that the proposed schemes respectively reach 90% and 94% detection probability at a signal-to-noise ratio of 5 dB. The RIS-based method outperforms the multipath-assisted method when the RIS error is less than 0.41 m.
