Wereldwijd wordt de auditmarkt gedomineerd door 4 internationale auditkantoren, namelijk PwC, Deloitte, KPMG en Ernst & Young. Deze groep van auditkantoren wordt ook wel de Big4 genoemd. Ook in België zijn deze vier auditkantoren dominant aanwezig. 50% van alle ondernemingen gevestigd in België worden gecontroleerd door één van de Big4 auditkantoren. Dit is een aanzienlijk percentage aangezien er in België meer dan 200 verschillende auditkantoren actief zijn. In deze masterproef wordt er dieper ingegaan op de vraag of auditsectorspecialisatie binnen de Big4 auditkantoren een invloed heeft op de kwaliteit van de financiële verslaggeving van de cliënten. Het doel van deze masterproef is na te gaan wat het effect is van auditsectorspecialisatie van de Big4 auditkantoren op de kwaliteit van de financiële verslaggeving binnen een onderneming in de Belgische context.

Entrapment and fracture of coronary angioplasty hardware are rare complications of percutaneous coronary artery interventions; however, when such incidents occur, they frequently require surgical treatment. Percutaneous retrieval should be attempted before surgical retrieval unless hemodynamic stability is a problem. Surgical intervention should focus on grafting the affected coronary vessel(s) and ensuring that there is no hardware in the aortic root that could serve as a nidus for thrombus formation. The book challenges the ‘counter-limits’ (controlimiti) doctrine devised by the Italian Constitutional Court, in the light of the developments that have taken place within the EU framework over the last decades. The subject matter becomes the looking glass through which the author verifies ‘whether’ and ‘to what extent’ the judicial cooperation system based on the mechanism of preliminary ruling under article 267 TFEU is suitable to allow a reassessment of the ‘counter-limits review’ and, more generally, capable to ease the settlement of constitutional conflicts between national and EU legal orders. A thorough examination of the perspectives involved helps to prove the existence of a ‘judicial dialogue’ as to the question of constitutional limits to the primacy of EU law, and to deepen the decision-making process of EU Member States’ Constitutional Courts when fundamental constitutional principles are at stake. Leveraging on this background, some recent rulings are investigated to verify, on a case-law basis, the balancing of values carried out by national and EU Courts.
