En el presente documento se describen los aspectos más importantes asociados a la aplicación software DVEBreeder. Esta herramienta ha sido creada expresamente para facilitar el proceso de selección de socios en las Empresas Virtuales Dinámicas utilizando, para ello, dos tecnologías procedentes del ámbito de la Inteligencia Artificial, como son los Sistemas Multiagente y los Sistemas Expertos. En dicha aplicación el proceso de selección se realiza en base a un modelo que engloba y amplía las posibilidades de los distintos enfoques existentes en la literatura, y en el que se hace uso del reciente concepto de Entornos de Gestación., Departamento de Informática

Intelligent Transport Systems are fundamental to enterprise competitiveness, especially in terms of the efficiency improvement of Logistics and Freight Transport. Although these areas are commonly associated with the private sector, the public sector has a significant role regarding regulation, and the planning and maintenance of public transport infrastructures. In this paper, two innovative areas in which public and private sectors collaborate are described: namely, gateway facilitation technologies, and some projects focused on an innovative management of freight transport.

In recent years, developing experiential learning has fulfilled the requirement that engineering students fully understand the concept of Lean Manufacturing, or Lean Production, by demonstrating the advantages and disadvantages of some of their key principles. Learning Factories have been developed to provide students and industrial participants with hands on instruction to learn a manufacturing system that produces small-scale models. In our paper, we describe the Lean School developed in conjunction with an industry partner (Renault) to improve the capabilities of our College of Engineering students and of workers in companies located in the Castile-Leon region.

In the last few years, a group of teachers of the School of Engineering of the University of Valladolid, have been involved in an innovation and continuous improvement process in order to update our teaching activities. On the one hand, we aim to promote the learning process of the existing paradigms in the business organization field. On the other hand, our goal is also that our students can acquire and develop the specific and generic skills that they will need in their future in their professional activity. This endeavour has led us to the implementation of a portfolio of innovation projects e.g. the creation and use of different learning methodologies, the development of tools for supporting teaching activities. This paper is intended to concisely describe the key elements of this innovation effort.

espanolEl Lean Manufacturing es una filosofia de produccion que ha resultado ser una pieza clave para asegurar la supervivencia de numerosas empresas. Por eso, los ingenieros del futuro han de conocer y trabajar las herramientas y tecnicas propias del lean a fin de que puedan utilizarlas en su actividad profesional de la forma mas eficiente. Para lograrlo, ademas de contar con talleres formativos, es necesario emplear otros instrumentos docentes basados en las nuevas tecnologias, dado su caracter motivador y sus amplias y conocidas ventajas. En este sentido, la gamificacion y, en particular, el uso de los videojuegos, constituye un enfoque innovador y atractivo. Partiendo de esta idea, en el presente documento se describe un ejemplo de aplicacion del videojuego Minecraft para favorecer el aprendizaje de la metodologia 5S, una herramienta esencial en el exito del Lean Manufacturing EnglishLean Manufacturing is a production philosophy that has proven to be a key piece to ensure the survival of many companies. Future engineers have to learn to use the Lean tools in order to develop their professional activity more efficiently. To achieve this, in addition to training workshops, it is necessary to use teaching tools based on new technologies, given their motivating character and its widely known advantages; in this regard, the use of videogames is an innovative and attractive approach. Starting from this idea, this paper describes an application example of how we have used the videogame Minecraft to favor learning of 5S methodology.

A diario surgen multitud de situaciones de maltrato infantil que, por lo general, reciben una respuesta inadecuada, bien porque dicha respuesta no es lo suficientemente rápida o bien porque no se adaptada a las necesidades y características concretas de la situación considerada. Para conseguir una respuesta adecuada, todas las entidades y organismos involucrados en la prevención, detección e intervención de situaciones de maltrato deben trabajar en red de forma coordinada. Partiendo de esta idea, nuestro trabajo se orienta a facilitar la creación de Organizaciones Virtuales Dinámicas que den una respuesta ágil a las distintas situaciones de maltrato que se puedan presentar. Para ello hacemos uso de dos tecnologías procedentes del ámbito de la Inteligencia Artificial, como son los Sistemas Multiagente y los Sistemas Expertos.

The large quantity of free available information, easily accessible on the Internet, enables to avoid wasting scarce resources to reinvest something existing, which commonly known as duplicative or unproductive R & D. Small and medium enterprises should be made aware that they should apply Competitive Intelligence methodologies to be competitive. This paper analyzes the waste of resources caused by reinventing what already exists and justifies the need to establish a Competitive Intelligence methodology. Precisely, it proposes a global competitive intelligence methodology focused on knowledge management and technological watch based on patent analysis.

Child abuse is a serious and worldwide problem that our society must try to completely eradicate. This goal, undoubtedly ambitious, requires an intensive work in the education of every individual and, of course, in the recognition of the children’s rights. Although in recent years significant progresses have been made in this sense, we must do everything in our power to adequately protect children, responding promptly and in a personalized way to each abuse situation. For this purpose, we must employ all the available resources and, furthermore, search for new solutions and tools. In order to provide an adequate response, all those stakeholders (both entities and people) that are involved in the prevention, detection and intervention activities should work together creating collaborative networks in which they provide what they really do best, i.e., their core business. However, network collaboration must face numerous challenges in order to become an effective instrument. Every abuse case is unique, so networks must involve different components in each new situation, and even these components can change during the performance: it is necessary, therefore, a dynamic and flexible networking model that allows the continuous evolution of resources and services, as well as the incorporation of new ones. These inter-collaborative problems in child abuse domain are difficult to solve without considering the new organizational models and, of course, the Information and Communication Technologies that make them possible. In this way, the Dynamic Virtual Organization (DVO) is probably the best organizational response to the problem. In a DVO a set of business partners come together dynamically, on demand, and in accordance with the requirements of a specific problem, disappearing when those needs have been met. DVOs are rapid creation and fast dissolution organizations, constructed ad hoc the opportunity of collaboration.

Many researchers agree that a key element in the VE succeed is the search, identification and selection of partners. This task is complex and is deeply influenced by the negotiation needs. This paper presents a simple but operational model of the selection process, in which partners are selected from a VE Breeding Environment. This model is the core of the multiagent platform that we have developed specifically for the selection of partners in the DVE context, which we also present in this paper.

RESUMENPara que la Tercera Misión de la Universidad (3MU) tenga éxito, ésta debe adaptarse a la nueva realidad digital incorporando aquellas herramientas que faciliten tanto la gestión del conocimiento como su posterior transferencia. Las nuevas tecnologías aportan un amplio abanico de posibilidades, facilitando desde la localización de los clientes hasta la difusión de los productos, pasando por la promoción de redes de contactos, las entrevistas, el posicionamiento, etc. El presente documento, además de discutir brevemente los conceptos asociados a la 3MU, analiza cómo la Web 2.0 y las herramientas digitales actuales pueden apoyar y potenciar esta labor.ABSTRACTThe success of the Third Mission of Universities (3MU) depends on the ability of the Universities to adapt to the new digital reality and incorporate the tools that facilitate both knowledge management and its subsequent transfer. The new technologies provide a wide range of possibilities, facilitating both the location of customers, and the distribution of products, the contact networking promotion, interviewing, positioning, etc. This document, besides reviewing briefly some of the concepts related to the 3MU, examines how Web 2.0 and today's digital tools can support and strengthen this work.
