- Abstract
The effectiveness under laboratory conditions of Cinnamon (Cinnamomum verum) on the Tetranychus urticae mite was evaluated. This species is of great economic importance because it affects all types of crops such as vegetables, fruit trees, and ornamentals. The damage consists of the removal of the cellular content, leaving the cell practically empty. T. urticae has presented resistance problems to various chemicals, which is why alternatives have been sought to reduce its population in crops. One of them, the use of botanical products, for this, an investigation was carried out in laboratory conditions, evaluating the effect of cinnamon in different presentations against the mite. The treatments were made up of: T1 water (5 mL), T2 based on cinnamon powder (1 g) T3 cinnamon infusion (5 mL) T4 Abamectin (Vertimec®) 0.6 mL; T5 ethanolic extract of cinnamon (5 mL at 5%) and T6 control without application. A mortality in females and eggs was registered after 24 hours of: cinnamon powder 11.66 ±11.69; 6.66 ± 2.58; infused cinnamon 60.00 ±14.1; 36.66 ± 14.024; ethanolic extract 38.33 ±16.02; 7.50 ± 6.89; water 20.00 ± 14.14; 0.00 ± 0.00; Abamectin 46,667 ± 20.65; 5.00 ± 3.16. The control obtained 0% mortality in both females and eggs. For the biological cycle test, the total development time of the mite was 11.01 ± 0.69, presenting in the egg state 5.11 ± 0.60; larval stage 2.18 ± 0.46; protonymph 1.96 ± 0.44 and deutonymph 1.75 ± 0.43. The treatment that obtained the highest percentage of mortality was the one represented by cinnamon infusion.

- Abstract
Bananas are widely grown in Ecuador, being the most exported crop, however, fruit production is reduced by phytosanitary diseases such as black Sigatoka. Management of this disease includes mostly chemical synthesis fungicides that contribute to environmental pollution. For this reason, this experiment was carried out in the central zone of the ecuadorian coastal region, to evaluate at field level the effect of inducing resistance substances against the evolution of “black Sigatoka” in the dry and rainy seasons. The experiment was deployed in a complete randomized block design, with five treatments and 4 blocks. The treatments studied were T1: Jasmonic acid, T2: Salicylic acid, T3: Carophilaceas extract, plus chemical (T4) and absolute (T5) controls. The infection rate, leaf area and functional leaves were measured at both, flowering and harvest stages. Additionally, net bunch weight was also evaluated. Jasmonic and salicylic acid showed a negative effect on the infection rate in both production periods. In terms of net bunch weight, Salicylic Acid registered the best average, compared to other treatments. Finally, this experiment showed that these resistance inducers can be implemented in disease management programs, as well as to increase crop yield, thus reducing the use of chemical products whose indiscriminate use creates resistance and environmental contamination., El banano es ampliamente sembrado en el Ecuador, siendo el producto agrícola más exportado, sin embargo, la producción de la fruta se ve reducida por enfermedades fitosanitarias como la sigatoka negra.

- Abstract
This book is concerned with the importance of Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Usability, user participants, and Sustainability in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry throughout the world. ICTs have become a crucial instrument for communication, entertainment, commerce and research and this increased usage is presenting new environmental and sustainability issues as we try and meet the ever-growing needs of both businesses and individuals. Sustainability and sustainable design must become central to the design of new technologies to make a concerted effort to tackle the environmental concerns we face now and in the future. Development frameworks, tools and models are used and explored, and the New Participative Methodology for Sustainable Design (NPMSD) is introduced as a way of identifying key factors needed in developing more sustainable systems including new smart technology and portable devices. In this book, the sustainable step in the design stage is evaluated and assessed by 11 countries: namely, Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, India, Norway, Singapore, South Korea, Sweden, UK, and USA. The new results are generated confirming that sustainable design awareness should be considered by designers, and users to minimize and reduce the carbon emissions, raw materials usage, and global warming, since these problems should be tackled soon, otherwise, it will be too late to solve it. Further research is needed in the future to implement and assess the sustainable design step with large IT companies to ensure compliance with environmental standards and rules for sustainable systems.Sustainable Design is an invaluable resource for students and researchers, designers and business managers who are interested in the human-centered, environmental concerns of sustainable technologies.

This research consists of the study of the practices of the actor and storyteller Rolando Boldrin (1936), which opportunize the occurrence of the spectacular phenomenon with his audience in the musical program Sr. Brazil (aired since 2005 by TV Cultura de São Paulo). The concept of spectacular used in this work is defined by Jean Marie Pradier, in his studies of Etnocenology, as the peculiar physics of the spirit, which manifests itself in a way of acting that differs from everyday behavior. This study also establishes relationships between current practices and the way they were developed along the professional career of this actor and his experiences in theater, music, radio, television and cinema. In this operation, were used as sources the monitoring and observation of recordings of the television program in which he operates, the interviews with Boldrin already published in printed form and videos available on the internet, plus a complementary interview, held by me in the final half of the research process. This work also evaluates the strategies for the production of data in the observation of situations where the spectacular can be recognized and appropriate, during the monitoring of recordings of the television program and in the process of conducting the supplementary interview. The methodology used was based on the approach of Virginia Kastrup on the cartografia method, in association with references of the work procedures of the documentarian Eduardo Coutinho and my own experience as a documentarian. One of the contributions of this research is the observation of the strong influence of the oral culture of guitar storytellers from the northwest of the State of São Paulo and the work as a radio actor, on the way Boldrin provokes the manifestation of the spectacular phenomenon in the recordings of his program, which is shown on open-signal television and on national television for all Brazil.

- Abstract
This book is to explores a variety of facets of online learning environments to understand how learning occurs and succeeds in digital contexts and what teaching strategies and technologies are most suited to this format. Business, health, government and education are some of the core sectors of society which have been experiencing deep transformations due to a generalized digitalization. While these changes are not novel, the swift progress of technology and the rising complexity of digital environments place a focus on the need for further research and novel strategies. In the context of education, the promise of increased flexibility and broader access to educational resources is impelling much of higher education's course offerings to online environments. The 21st century learner requires an education that can be pursued anytime and anywhere and that is more aligned with the demands of a digital society. Online education not only assists students to success-fully integrate a workforce that is increasingly digital, but it helps them to become more comfortable with the use of technology in general and, hence, more prepared to be prolific digital citizens. The variety of settings portrayed in this volume attest to the unlimited opportunities afforded by online learning and serve as valuable evidence of its benefit for students'educational experience. Moreover, these research efforts assist a more comprehensive reflection about the delivery of higher education in the context of online settings.

- Abstract
The volume consists of twenty-five chapters selected from among peer-reviewed papers presented at the CELDA (Cognition and Exploratory Learning in the Digital Age) 2013 Conference held in Fort Worth, Texas, USA, in October 2013 and also from world class scholars in e-learning systems, environments and approaches. The following sub-topics are included: Exploratory Learning Technologies (Part I), e-Learning social web design (Part II), Learner communities through e-Learning implementations (Part III), Collaborative and student-centered e-Learning design (Part IV). E-Learning has been, since its initial stages, a synonym for flexibility. While this dynamic nature has mainly been associated with time and space it is safe to argue that currently it embraces other aspects such as the learners'profile, the scope of subjects that can be taught electronically and the technology it employs. New technologies also widen the range of activities and skills developed in e-Learning. Electronic learning environments have evolved past the exclusive delivery of knowledge. Technology has endowed e-Learning with the possibility of remotely fomenting problem solving skills, critical thinking and team work, by investing in information exchange, collaboration, personalisation and community building.

The research assumes that the actor's work in Cinema facing adversities that are characteristic of cinematic production system. Among them is the need to act with the technological apparatus used for recording image and sound. Moreover, the dynamics of working in an audiovisual production does not encourage interaction between the cast and crew at the time that the scene takes place, it’s not intended to establish a sensitive communication link between the dramatic act and other gifts in "set" of the filming. The here and now of the actor's work on the film scene is under constant risk of having a little participatory assistance during your event. The objective of this work is to study some ways in which different directors and researchers have dealt with this issue, using as theoretical tools of analysis the concept of spectacle from the perspective of Ethnoscenology. To undertake this study is necessary to perform an appropriation of the concepts of spectacle and theatricality in the relationship between staff, cast and technical apparatus in cinematic staging. In that appropriation of concepts some experiments scenic setting in Theatre and Cinema of the researcher will also be used as support material. The intention of this research is to make a contribution to the discussion about Ethnoscenology and work of actor/director - Film and Theatre - in a perspective that presents twists of theatrical art with the art of cinema.
