It is important to establish both the cyber threats drone users face and security practices to combat those threats. Privacy will always be the main concern when using drones. Protecting information legally collected on drones and protecting people from the illegal collection of their data are topics that security professionals should consider before their organization uses drones. Abstract

In this article, we provide details of the suite DensToolKit-v2, which consists of a set of cross-platform, optionally parallelized programs for analyzing the molecular electron density (ρ), as well as different fields and chemical indices derived from it. Notably, with this version, the user can compute the Non-Covalent Interaction index, the Density Overlap Regions Index, and fields related to single-spin-type molecular orbitals, such as the spin density. In addition, DensToolKit-v2 includes several programs for analyzing other less-known fields, such as the Density Matrix of order 1, the two-electron pair density function, and the Fourier transforms of these fields, that is, functionals in momentum space. A new sub-program to compute integrated properties of each of the fields released in the suite is included. A simple graphical user interface is released, which eases the visualization of ρ critical points topology. Most interestingly, this version includes a program that renders estimations of pKa's of carboxylic acids and pKb's of amines (primary, secondary, and tertiary) through refined relations between experimental data and the molecular electrostatic potential computed at isosurfaces of ρ. Details related to the speed of the programs and a few examples of how to use the program in workflows are discussed, and the source code is released through a git repository under the GPLv3 terms. Abstract

This research presents the design and implementation of an Internet of Things (IoT)-based solution to measure the percentage of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) inside domestic stationary tanks. The IoT-based sensor, in addition to displaying the percentage of the LPG level in the tank to the user through a mobile application (app), has the advantage of simultaneously sharing the acquired data with an LPG filling plant via the Internet. The design process and calculations for the selection of the electronic components of the IoT-based sensor are presented. The methodology for obtaining and calibrating the measurement of the tank filling percentage from the magnetic level measurement system is explained in detail. The operation of the developed software, and the communication protocols used are also explained so that the data can be queried both in the user's app and on the gas company's web platform safely. The use of the Clark and Wright savings algorithm is proposed to sufficiently optimize the distribution routes that tank trucks should follow when serving different home refill requests from customers located in different places in a city. The experimental results confirm the functionality and viability of the hardware and software developed. In addition, by having the precise location of the tank, the generation of optimized gas refill routes for thirty customers using the heuristic algorithm and a visualization of them on Google Maps is demonstrated. Abstract

The growing challenge of antibiotic resistance has intensified the search for new antimicrobial agents. Promising alternatives include peptidoglycan hydrolases (PGHs) and certain ribosomal proteins, both of which exhibit antimicrobial activity. This study focuses on a Lactiplantibacillus paraplantarum strain, isolated from fermented meat, capable of inhibiting pathogens such as Listeria innocua, Salmonella Typhimurium, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Weissella viridescens. The highest growth and antimicrobial activity were observed at a high nitrogen concentration (5.7 g/L). Two antimicrobial proteins were identified: the 50S ribosomal protein L14 (RP uL14) and 6-phospho-N-acetylmuramidase (MupG), a PGH. Partial purification and characterization of these proteins were achieved using SDS-PAGE, zymography, and LC-MS/MS. Transcriptional data (RT-qPCR) showed that higher nitrogen concentrations enhanced MupG expression, while increased carbon concentrations boosted RP uL14 expression. These findings highlight the importance of nutritional sources in maximizing the production of novel antimicrobial proteins, offering a potential path to develop effective alternatives against antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Abstract

There is considerable interest in understanding and controlling topological defects in nematic liquid crystals (LCs). Confinement, in the form of droplets, has been particularly effective in that regard. Here, we employ the Landau-de Gennes method to explore the geometrical frustration of nematic order in shell geometries, and focus on chiral materials. By varying the chirality and thickness in uniform shells, we construct a phase diagram that includes tetravalent structures, bipolar structures (BS), bent structures and radial spherical structures (RSS). It is found that, in uniform shells, the BS-to-RSS structural transition, in response to both chirality and shell geometry, is accompanied by an abrupt change of defect positions, implying a potential use for chiral nematic shells as sensors. Moreover, we investigate thickness heterogeneity in shells and demonstrate that non-chiral and chiral nematic shells exhibit distinct equilibrium positions of their inner core that are governed by shell chirality c.
