Modern HEP experiments require immense amounts of computing power. In the BaBar experiment at SLAC, most of it is provided by Solaris SPARC systems. AutoClient, a product of Sun Microsystems, was designed to make setting up and managing large numbers of Solaris systems more straightforward. AutoClient machines keep all filesystems, except swap, on a server and employ CacheFS to cache them onto a local disk, which makes them Field Replaceable Units with performance of stand-alone systems. We began exploring the technology in Summer 1998, and currently operate online, reconstruction, analysis and console AutoClient farms with the total number of nodes exceeding 400. Although the technology has been available since 1995, it has not been widely used, and the available documentation does not adequately cover many important details of AutoClient installation and management. The recovered sedimentary organic matter from the Tithonian-Berriasian Chia Gara Formation was studied from three selected wells of Ajil-12 (Aj-12), Hamrin-1 (Hr-1), and Tikrit-3 (Tk-3) in Northern Iraq. Amorphous organic matters appeared to be the dominant components of the organic matters within the formation with more than 93%, whereas phytoclasts and palynomorphs comprised only few percentages. As no intensive variations observed in the percentages of the determined organic matters along the studied Chia Gara Formation except a slight increase in phytoclasts and palynomorphs in its uppermost part, therefore the formation considered to be representing only one mainpalynofacies type that subdivided into two secondary palynofacies. Using Tyson's APP ternary, the formation appeared to be deposited in a distal suboxic-anoxic basin. As source rock, the formation in the studied locations contains moderate to very good quantity of organic matters which compose mainly of type II and Type III kerogen (separately or mixed). The whole formation has the ability to generate oil or gas except the upper part of the formation in the location of the well Aj-12 in which less than the lower limit of the required S2 values for considering as source rock is recorded.

Introduction. The work of police officers mainly with the antisocial part of the population increases the conflict between the three sides of self-esteem — I (real, ideal, social), which can contribute to the emergence of cognitive dissonance and the choice of maladaptive coping, and, conversely, the predominance of maladaptive coping, will indicate the presence of a conflict of interests between the three I and an increase in the risk of developing adaptation diseases in police officers. The aim is to determine the influence of the self-esteem structure on the adaptability of defense mechanisms when choosing coping strategies. Materials and methods. On the basis of the theoretical self-assessment model developed by the authors, experimental testing data on Khaimah and Budassia of 85 police officers of various services aged from 22 to 45 years are considered. Results and discussion. The work has shown that the orientation of copings depends on the problem being solved and coping strategies can be combined, it is impossible, in this case, to speak unequivocally about their problematic or emotional orientation. Along with the predominance of adaptive emotionally-oriented coping, maladaptive coping was also identified: 10.5% (suppression of emotions and emotional discharge;) and 8.5% (active avoidance), which, with prolonged accumulation, can pose a threat to health in the form of adaptation diseases, which indicates the need for a psychologist to conduct psychoprophylaxis. Conclusions. In extreme situations, self-esteem as a Self-concept is an evaluation indicator, and can participate in sublimation processes, i. e. in the processes of activating protective mechanisms in case of sudden threats to the life and health of employees; quantitative and qualitative assessment of the level of expression of self-esteem, i. e. the determination of its adequacy and adaptability, with participation in coping strategies, is an informative experimental part of this theoretical model and confirms the assumptions existing in the literature about the resourcing of self-esteem as a Self-concept under stress. More people with adequately normal and adequately inflated self-esteem tend to get into the ranks of the police, which contributes to the predominance of their choice of adaptive coping strategies in the form of optimism (88.2%)., Введение. Работа полицейских преимущественно с асоциальной частью населения усиливает конфликт между тремя сторонами самооценки — Я–реальное, идеальное, социальное, что может способствовать возникновению когнитивного диссонанса и выбору неадаптивных копингов. И, наоборот, преобладание неадаптивных копингов будет свидетельствовать о наличии конфликта интересов между тремя Я и увеличении риска развития у полицейских болезней адаптации. Цель — определение влияния структуры самооценки на адаптивность защитных механизмов при выборе копинг-стратегий. Материалы и методы. На основе разработанной авторами теоретической модели самооценки рассматриваются экспериментальные данные тестирования по Хайму и Будассии 85 полицейских различных служб в возрасте от 22 до 45 лет. Результаты и обсуждение. Ориентированность копингов зависит от решаемой проблемы, и копинг-стратегии могут быть комбинированными. Однозначно говорить об их проблемной или эмоциональной ориентированности нельзя. Наряду с преобладанием адаптивных эмоционально ориентированных копингов выявлены и неадаптивные копинги: 10,5% — подавление эмоций и эмоциональная разрядка; и 8,5% — активное избегание, которые при длительном накоплении могут создать угрозу здоровью в виде болезней адаптации, что говорит о необходимости работы психолога по проведению психопрофилактики. Выводы. В экстремальных ситуациях самооценка как Я-концепция является оценочным показателем и может участвовать в процессах сублимации, т. е. включения защитных механизмов при внезапных угрозах жизни и здоровью сотрудников. Количественное и качественное оценивание уровня выраженности самооценки, т. е. определение ее адекватности и адаптивности, при участии в совладающих стратегиях является информативной опытной частью данной теоретической модели и подтверждает предположения, существующие в литературе, о ресурсности самооценки как Я-концепции при стрессах. В ряды полицейских стремятся попасть лица с адекватно нормальной и адекватно завышенной самооценкой, в связи с чем, как правило, преобладает выбор ими адаптивных копинг-стратегий в виде оптимизма (88,2%).

Background Acute pharyngitis is a frequent illness presenting in outpatient settings. Antibiotics are only recommended for bacterial pharyngitis caused by group A β-hemolytic streptococci (GAS); however, infections with non–group A β-hemolytic streptococci (NGAS) have similar clinical presentations and are common in young adult populations. The objective of this study was to analyze the performance of a current (expert) diagnostic algorithm for GAS pharyngitis, the Centor score, and compare it to alternative models developed to predict GAS and NGAS in a college student population. Methods Electronic health records were obtained for all patients who received a streptococcal rapid antigen detection test (RADT) and/or a bacterial throat culture (n = 3963) at a southeastern US university in 2014. Bivariate and multivariable regression models (least absolute shrinkage and selection operator [LASSO] and stepwise-selected) were fitted to assess and compare their diagnostic performances for GAS-positive and NGAS-positive infections. Results Prevalence of GAS was 18.8%. In the subset of RADT-negative patients who received bacterial throat cultures (n = 313), growth of NGAS occurred in 34.8%, with group C streptococci the most frequent isolate. Mean Centor score was higher for NGAS (3.2) vs GAS (2.9) infections (P = .0111). The area under the curve (AUC) for GAS prediction was 0.64 using the Centor score and 0.70 using the LASSO model. For NGAS, the most important features were cough, pharyngeal erythema, tonsillar exudate, and gastrointestinal symptoms (AUC = 0.63). Conclusions GAS and NGAS pharyngitis were indistinguishable among college students in this study utilizing a commonly applied decision score. Alternative models using additional clinical criteria may be useful for supporting diagnosis of this common illness., Group A and non–group A streptococcal pharyngitis infections were indistinguishable among college students in this study utilizing a commonly applied decision score. Diverse approaches to helical flux compression generator’s (HFCG) inductance, resistance, and armature expansion calculations are evaluated. Comparison of simulated and experimentally obtained results is provided. Validity criteria for different simulation models are proposed. Consideration of armature acceleration under the pressure of detonation products and magnetic pressure is shown to be beneficial for accuracy of HFCG simulation. Control of HFCG temperature during simulation enables detecting the critical points of system operation.

The purpose of this chapter is to study the fundamental provisions of the concept of knowledge economy. The authors use the systemic and dynamic approaches to studying socio-economic phenomena and processes. Also, the method of analysis of causal connections, the method of comparative analysis, induction, deduction, formalization, etc. are used. The authors conduct comparative analysis of knowledge economy and other types of economy, study the essence of the process of transition to knowledge economy through the prism of evolution of modern economic systems, and present a conceptual model of knowledge economy. As a result, the authors substantiate the evolutional point of view that treats knowledge economy as a pinnacle of the evolutional path of modern economic systems. The authors show that uniqueness of knowledge economy consists in the fact that it places human capital into the center of economic system, which allows satisfying public material needs and implementing the existing human potential (labor, intellectual, and innovational) of development, thus satisfying non-material needs of employees. This takes knowledge economy to the pinnacle of the evolutional path of modern economic systems.

The purpose of the work is to determine the top-priority directions of implementing the new Internet technologies on the territories of rapid economic development by the example of modern Russia. In order to determine the effectiveness of application of financial tools for stimulating the growth of territories of rapid economic development, the authors use the classical method of evaluation of effectiveness, which supposes finding the ratio of results to expenditures. The indicators of the result include the volume of manufactured product in the territories of rapid economic development and the volume of taxes paid into state budgets of these territories, and the indicator of expenditures is the volume of investments into territories of rapid economic development. The authors come to the conclusion that financial tools (investments) of stimulating the growth of territories of rapid economic development are peculiar for low effectiveness, as they lead to high load on the federal budget. Non-financial tools – including Internet technologies – have wide perspectives and high effectiveness in the sphere of stimulating the acceleration of growth rate of territories of rapid development. The authors determine top-priority directions of implementation of new Internet technologies on the territories of rapid development and develop the mechanism of activation of growth of the territories of rapid economic development on the basis of implementing the new Internet technologies by the example of modern Russia.

The purpose of the work is to develop the concept of economic stimulation of creating highly-efficient jobs from the view of a modern human by the example of modern Russia. The authors determine the level of modern human’s interest in creation of highly-efficient jobs through the prism of three various roles in socio-economic system of Russia. The information and analytical basis of the work consists of the materials of the sociological survey performed by the All-Russian Public Opinion Research Center in 2016, the materials of the report by the United Nations Development Programme on Human Development Index and the INSEAD, WIPO, Cornell University on innovational development of economy, as well as the materials of the International Monetary Fund and the Federal State Statistics Service for 2016. The data are processed with the help of the systemic, logical, dynamics (trend), and comparative analysis, as well as general scientific methods of the research, such as synthesis, deduction, induction, formalization, etc. The authors prove the thesis that the process of economic stimulation of creating the highly-efficient jobs in the economic system, studied by the modern science from the positions of entrepreneurial structures, should be viewed through the prism of human – both within and outside of these structures. The authors determine the key barriers on the path of successful economic stimulation of creation of highly-efficient jobs in modern Russia and offer practical recommendations for overcoming them, on the basis of which the concept of stimulation of creating the highly-efficient jobs from the point of view of modern human is created.

Design and experimental study of a detonator using a lengthy exploding wire fuse are proposed. A shock-wave unit using electrically exploding wire for initiating high-explosive charges to create axially symmetric detonation front is developed. The detonators are made and tested in two designs. The design details and the results of experiments are reported.

BABAR, the detector for the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric e+e- B Factory operating at the upsilon 4S resonance, was designed to allow comprehensive studies of CP-violation in B-meson decays. Charged particle tracks are measured in a multi-layer silicon vertex tracker surrounded by a cylindrical wire drift chamber. Electromagentic showers from electrons and photons are detected in an array of CsI crystals located just inside the solenoidal coil of a superconducting magnet. Muons and neutral hadrons are identified by arrays of resistive plate chambers inserted into gaps in the steel flux return of the magnet. Charged hadrons are identified by dE/dx measurements in the tracking detectors and in a ring-imaging Cherenkov detector surrounding the drift chamber. The trigger, data acquisition and data-monitoring systems, VME- and network-based, are controlled by custom-designed online software.
