Description du sujet. Les systèmes agroforestiers (SAF) en périphérie des aires protégées fortement anthropisées apparaissent comme les systèmes de production les plus adaptés pour fournir une multitude de services écosystémiques tout en réduisant la pression sur les ressources naturelles. Ils constituent en effet d’importants puits de carbone dont le rôle compensatoire dans le processus d'atténuation au changement climatique reste peu connu. Objectifs. Évaluer le potentiel de stockage de carbone des SAF de la zone périphérique du Parc National de Bouba Ndjidda ainsi que la valeur financière de ces stocks de carbone. Méthode. Les données ont été collectées dans quatre types de SAF, à savoir les plantations éparses (PE), les haies vives (HV), les jardins de case (JC) et les jachères (JA). Un inventaire total des espèces ligneuses a été effectué et les données dendrométriques collectées dans 37 parcelles de 50 m x 50 m (8,5 ha). Les pools considérés pour l’évaluation des stocks de carbone sont la partie aérienne, la partie souterraine, la biomasse des herbacées et juvéniles, la litière et le sol. La biomasse ligneuse a été évaluée par des équations allométriques. Les analyses statistiques ont consisté en des tests de comparaisons multiples entre les stocks de carbone des différents pools des SAF d’une part et ceux des SAF entre eux d’autre part. Résultats. Les stocks de carbone totaux variaient de 26,9 t C·ha-1 pour les jachères (JA) à 31,9 t C·ha-1 pour les haies vives (HV). Les stocks de carbone moyen du sol représentaient 31 à 59 % du carbone total et diminuaient significativement avec la profondeur du sol. En termes de paiements pour services écosystémiques, les prix des stocks de carbone des SAF étaient estimés entre 986 et 1 170 USD·ha-1. Conclusions. Les SAF de la région soudano-sahélienne jouent un rôle écologique et économique important en contribuant significativement à la lutte contre les changements climatiques à travers le stockage du carbone.

L’objectif de cette étude était d’évaluer les apports nutritionnels et la dépense énergétique des athlètes congolais internés et engagés au Semi-Marathon International de Brazzaville (SMIB). 40 athlètes (femmes et hommes) âgés respectivement de 22,60 ± 3,45 ans et 28,48 ± 8,18 ans, ont participé à cette étude exploratoire. La méthode du « semainier de trois jours consécutifs » pour collecter les données alimentaires et la « formule de Harris et Benedict » pour calculer la dépense énergétique des athlètes étaient utilisées. Les tables de composition alimentaires ont servi pour convertir les macronutriments. Résultats: les pourcentages des glucides (68,27% et 61,4%) étaient normaux, tandis que ceux des lipides (14,39% et 16,49%) et protéines (17,34% et 22,11%) étaient loin des recommandations. L’apport énergétique des femmes était supérieur à la dépense (3423,4 Kcal vs 2256,01 Kcal). La quantité d’énergie apportée chez les hommes était inférieure à la dépense (2980,93 Kcal vs 3181,90 Kcal). Les performances (1h 11’33’’, 1h 13’58’’ et 1h 22’27’ et 1h 15’43’’) étaient faibles. Conclusion : la balance énergétique des athlètes était déséquilibrée, avec une alimentation hyperprotéique et hypo lipidique. Cette alimentation est source de fatigue nerveuse, de mauvaise récupération et constitue un facteur limitant de la performance sportive. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nutritional intake and energy expenditure of Congolese athletes interned and engaged in the Brazzaville International Half-Marathon (BIHM). 40 athletes (women and men) aged 22.60 ± 3.45 years and 28.48 ± 8.18 years respectively participated in this exploratory study. The “three consecutive day week planner” method of three consecutive days” to collect dietary data and the “Harris and Benedict formula” to calculate the athletes' energy expenditure were used. Food composition tables were used to determine the weight of foods and the conversion of their macronutrients. Results: the percentages of carbohydrates (68.27% and 61.4%) were normal, while those of lipids (14.39% and 16.49%) and proteins (17.34% and 22.11%) were away from recommendations. The energy intake of women was higher than the expenditure (3423.4 Kcal vs 2256.01 Kcal). The amount of energy provided in men was lower than the expenditure (2980.93 Kcal vs 3181.90 Kcal). The performances (1 h 11'33'', 1 h 13'58'' and 1 h 22'27' and 1 h 15'43'') were low. Conclusion: the energy balance of the athletes was unbalanced, with a high protein and low lipid diet. This diet is a source of nervous fatigue, poor recovery and is a limiting factor in sports performance.

This study aims to evaluate the physical fitness and motor ability of Brazzaville’s U19 footballers according to playing position. Method: A cross- sectional study was conducted with a total of 33 U19 football players aged 18.75 ± 0.95 years. Data collection consisted of anthropometric measurements, physical fitness (YYIR1 distance and VO2max) and motor ability (agility, explosive power and upper limbs strength) and the playing positions. Agility, explosive power and upper limbs strength (Barrow moter ability test) whereas YYIR1 distance and VO2max (YO-YO intermittent recovery level 1) were measured on three separate days. The data were analyzed using SPSS software 25.0. Results: Explosive powers as well as upper limb strength were significantly higher in goalkeepers than in midfielders, attackers and defenders (p < 0.001; p < 0.001). The place of a balanced diet in sport has proven to be very important. The objective of this study was to assess the nutritional knowledge of athletes in the Brazzaville athletics league. Our study was conducted on a sample of 50 athletes including 29 Boys and 21 Girls from the events combined with an average age of 23.50 ± 3.32 years and 21.33 ± 9.41 years respectively. The method used was the Abbreviated Sports Nutrition Knowledge Questionnaire (ANSKQ) to collect data related to nutrition knowledge from athletes. The results showed ignorance of ranking products for carbohydrate, fat, and protein gain respectively by 62.06% of Boys and 47.61% of Girls, 51.72% of Boys 80.95% of Girls, and 51 72% of Boys versus 61.90% of Girls). Similarly, 51.72% of Boys and 52.38% of Girls ignored the percentages of a balanced diet. Knowledge of what to eat to perform was low in 62.06% of boys and 66.66% of girls. The type of ration established was based on traditional experience in 65.51% of boys and 42.85% of girls. The level of nutrition knowledge was low in 51.72% of boys and 52.38% of girls. This justified the non-respect of meal intake and meal times before sport practice respectively in 82.75% of boys and 95.23% of girls. Hence the non-participation in the composition of the menus of 100% of Boys and 100% of Girls. In conclusion, Congolese athletes have a very low level of knowledge in the field of nutrition. However, a low level of knowledge in nutrition is associated with a negative impact on sport performance.La place de l’alimentation équilibrée dans le domaine sportif est avérée très importante. L’objectif de cette étude était d’évaluer les connaissances en nutrition des athlètes de la ligue d’athlétisme de Brazzaville. Notre étude a été menée sur un échantillon de 50 athlètes dont 29 Garçons et 21 Filles des épreuves confondues avec un âge moyen respectivement de 23,50 ±3,32 ans et 21,33 ±9,41 ans. La méthode utilisée était le Questionnaire Abrégé sur la Connaissance en Nutrition Sportive (ANSKQ) afin de collecter les données liées aux connaissances en nutrition auprès des athlètes. Les résultats ont montré l’ignorance de classer les produits pour le gain glucidique, lipidique et protéique respectivement par 62, 06% des Garçons et 47,61% des Filles, 51,72 % des Garçons 80,95% des Filles, et 51,72% des Garçons versus 61,90% des Filles). De même, 51,72% des Garçons et 52,38% des Filles ont ignoré les pourcentages d’une alimentation équilibrée. La connaissance de ce qu’il faut manger pour performer était faible chez 62,06% des Garçons et 66,66% des filles. Le type de ration établie était basé sur l’expérience traditionnelle chez 65,51% des Garçons et 42,85% des Filles. Le niveau de connaissance en nutrition était faible chez 51,72% des Garçons et 52,38% des Filles. Ce qui a justifié le non-respect des prises des repas et des heures repas avant la pratique sportive respectivement chez 82,75% des Garçons et 95,23% des Filles. D’où la non-participation à la composition des menus de 100% des Garçons et 100%des Filles. En conclusion, les athlètes congolais ont un niveau de connaissance très bas dans le domaine de nutrition. Background: Pubertal development and sexuality in prime adolescence can individually or both affect academic performance during the secondary cycle. Objectives: The present study aims to examine the relationship between pubertal maturation, sexuality and academic Performance of secondary school students. Methods: Data were collected via a cross-sectional survey after the release of the first quarter results. The sample was composed of 418 students (195 boys and 223 girls aged 13.96 ± 0.97 and 14.26 ± 0.85 years old respectively). The pubertal development scale and sexuality at prime adolescence scales were used to collect data. Academic performance was assessed based on quarterly cumulative GPA. Chi-square and Pearson's correlation tests were used and responses were structured into subcategories regarding factors of pubertal development, sexuality and academic performance. Results: The pubertal development of girls was more advanced than that of boys; the boys scores on the "going out with someone" scale (P ≤ 0.05) and on the “flirting with the aim of having sexual relations” scale (P ≤ 0.01) whereas girls scores on the "giving priority to love" scale (P ≤ 0.05). In general academic performance was above mean and below mean respectively for boys and girls. Pubertal development and sexuality were negatively correlated with academic performance mostly in girls. Conclusions: The developmental stage was more pronounced in girls. Boys were ahead in sexuality and the mean of their academic performance was higher. The interactions of development and sexuality and their combined effect negatively influenced the academic performance of girls and boys with gender-specific degrees.

Le Parc National de Waza est une aire protégée de renommée internationale. Il est l’un des plus emblématiques que compte le Cameroun, mais fait face à des pressions anthropiques et d’origine naturelle qui menacent l’intégrité de ses ressources. La présente étude avait pour objectif d’améliorer la connaissance de la flore et de la végétation ligneuse afin de permettre de mieux bâtir les stratégies de gestion de ce parc. Pour y parvenir, un inventaire de la flore ligneuse a été réalisé en 2016, avec la méthode des transects couplée à celle des quadrats de 25 m x 50 m. Le comptage et la mesure des paramètres dendrométriques, ainsi que les observations effectuées à l’intérieur de ces quadrats ont permis d’étudier les différents paramètres qualitatifs et quantitatifs de la ressource ligneuse, dont la richesse spécifique et les indices de diversité. Il en ressort que le parc abrite 38 espèces appartenant à 33 genres répartis dans 19 familles. L’indice de Shannon Weaver est de 2,95 et l’équitabilité de Piélou est de 0,56. Ces indices montrent que l’écosystème reste encore relativement riche, même si les menaces de la dégradation de ses ressources sont perceptibles. Il importe de mettre sur pied les stratégies efficaces de gestion de cette aire protégée et de sa périphérie afin de limiter les menaces auxquelles elle fait face. English title: Diversity of the woody plants species within the Waza National Park (Cameroon) Waza National Park is an internationally renowned protected area. It is one of the most emblematic in Cameroon, but faces anthropogenic and natural pressures that threaten the integrity of its resources. The purpose of the study was to improve knowledge of the flora and woody vegetation in order to better build management strategies for this park. To achieve this, an inventory of the woody flora was carried out, using the transect method coupled with that of 25 m x 50 m quadrats. The counting and measurement of dendrometric parameters, as well as the observations made inside these quadrats, made it possible to study the various qualitative and quantitative parameters of the woody resource, including specific richness and diversity indices. It appears that the park is home to 38 species belonging to 33 genera distributed in 19 families. The Shannon Weaver index is 2.95 and the Piélou fairness is 0.56. These indices show that the ecosystem is still relatively rich, even if the threats of the degradation of its resources are perceptible. It is important to set up effective management strategies for this protected area and its periphery in order to limit the threats it faces.

I propose a comprehensive analysis of what has been commonly referred in the literature to as split, discontinuous noun phrases or split topicalization. Based on data from Basaá, a Narrow Bantu language spoken in Cameroon, I partly capitalize on previous authors such as Mathieu (2004), Mathieu & Sitaridou (2005) and Ott (2015a), who propose that this morphosyntactic phenomenon involves two syntactically unrelated constituents which are only linked semantically in a predication relation in a small clause (Moro 1997, 2000; Den Dikken 1998). According to these analyses, split noun phrases are obtained as a result of predicate inversion across the subject of the small clause. Contrary to/but not against these views, I suggest that what raises in the same context in Basaá is rather the subject of the small clause as a consequence of feature-checking under closest c-command (Chomsky 2000, 2001), and for the purpose of labelling and asymmetrizing an originally symmetric syntactic structure on the surface (Ott 2015a and related work). The fact that the target of movement is the subject and not the predicate of the small clause follows from agreement and ellipsis factors. Given that the subject of predication is a full DP while the predicate is a reduced DP with a null head modifier, the surface word order is attributed to the fact that noun/noun phrase ellipsis is possible if the elided noun is given in the discourse and is recoverable from the morphology of the stranded modifier. This paper offers a theoretical contribution from an understudied language to our understanding of this puzzling nominal construction.
