Astrophysics - Instrumentation and Methods for Astrophysics - Abstract
The Astropy Project supports and fosters the development of open-source and openly-developed Python packages that provide commonly needed functionality to the astronomical community. A key element of the Astropy Project is the core package $\texttt{astropy}$, which serves as the foundation for more specialized projects and packages. In this article, we summarize key features in the core package as of the recent major release, version 5.0, and provide major updates for the Project. We then discuss supporting a broader ecosystem of interoperable packages, including connections with several astronomical observatories and missions. We also revisit the future outlook of the Astropy Project and the current status of Learn Astropy. We conclude by raising and discussing the current and future challenges facing the Project., Comment: 43 pages, 5 figures. To appear in ApJ. 5. EVALUATION OF NEW MOLECULES OF INSECTICIDES AGAINST WHITEFLY AND THRIPS ON TOMATO.

Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is one of the most popular and widely grown vegetable crop of both tropics and subtropics of the world. It is a member of the family Solanaceae. Low tomato yields have been ascribed to a variety of issues, including poor seed quality, pest infestations and severe weather conditions. Insect pests are the most important of all known causes, causing significant losses at any stage of crop development. Many tomato producers are complaining about losses owing to sucking pests. Therefore, the study was carried out to compare the efficiency of different chemical insecticides against whitefly and thrips of tomato at Main Agriculture Research Station, Dharwad, Karnataka, during rabi, 2021-22. The experiment involved the treatments such as, T1-Thiamethoxam 25 WG @ 0.25 g/l, T2-Dinotefuron 20 SG @ 0.4 g/l, T3-Diafenthiuron 50 WP @ 1.0 g/l, T4-Acetamiprid 20 SP @ 0.2 g/l, T5-Flonicamid 50 WG @ 0.3 g/l, T6 - Spiromesifen 22.9 SC @ 1.0 ml/l, T7 - Spirotetramat 24 SC @ 0.5 ml/l, T8 - Untreated check. Among the various treatments imposed, the flonicamid 50 WG @ 0.3 g/l and dinotefuran 20 SG @ 0.4 g/l were found effective in reducing the whitefly and thrips population. Highest fruit yield was recorded in flonicamid 50 WG @ 0.3 g/l (39.00 t/ha) followed by dinotefuran 20 SG @ 0.4 g/l (37.00 t/ha). Similarly, the highest net return was registered in flonicamid 50 WG @ 0.3 g/l (1.83 lakh/ha) followed by dinotefuran 20 SG @ 0.4 g/l (1.60 lakh/ha). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present experiment was conducted to assess the effectiveness of vermicompost, neem cake, pongamia cake, neem oil and pongamia oil on the activity of tomato thrips, whiteflies and mites under field conditions at the Main Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad during rabi 2021-22. The results indicated that crop amended at planting with vermicompost (2.5 t/ha), neem cake (125 kg/ha), Pongamia cake (125 kg/ha) and followed by foliar spray of Azadirachtin 10000 ppm @ 2 ml/l was effective in keeping the density of sucking pests in check, being comparable to recommended insecticide. Significantly highest tomato yield (35.25 t/ha) was registered in the crop receiving VC (2.5 t/ha) + NC (1.25 q/ha) + PC (1.25 q/ha) - Azadirachtin 10000 ppm @ 2 ml/l. This was on par with VC (2.5 t/ha) + NC (2.5 q/ha) - Azadirachtin 10000 ppm @ 2 ml/l (34.10 t/ha). The untreated crop yielded the lowest (30.00 t/ha) tomato fruits. The research highlights the utility of organics in managing sucking pests of tomato that has potential export value. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

9. Use of Public Library Services by Differently abled Persons: A Pilot Study of City Central Library, Dharwad

- Abstract
In this article, an attempt has been made to investigate whether differently abled persons effectively using public library services or not. For the study, 50 questionnaires were distributed to differently abled persons and finally 43 (86%) questionnaires were considered for analysis based on the merit of the filled questionnaires. The analysis of the data revealed that, differently abled persons use City Central Library services very rarely and majority rather all of them were physically disabled persons. Another finding is that, Information needs of differently abled persons are same as other abled persons. It is rather disappointing that majority i.e. 69.77% of information needs of differently abled persons remain un-satisfied. Inaccessibility, Lack of reading materials in alternative formats, special services and Lack of assistive technologies with access to computers are the major problems faced by the differently abled persons. The study concludes with some of the important suggestions for development of information resources, services and infrastructure facilities of the CCL in order to provide better services and to improve the collection to satisfy the needs of differently abled persons.

- Abstract
In this article an attempt has been made to investigate the use pattern and information needs of young users. For the study 200 questionnaires were distributed to the young users of City Central library, Dharwad, aged between 18-35 years and 196 duly filled questionnaires were received back with the response rate of 98%. In that, 180 (90%) questionnaires were found to be suitable for the analysis. Findings of the study revealed that City Central library plays a vital role in the life of youngsters and they are visiting the library regularly. Library usage and information needs of youngsters are mainly related to employment (81.11%) and education (66.57%). The study concludes with providing some of the important suggestions for overall development of information resources, services and infrastructure facilities of the CCL in order to provide better services to young users.

The Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) provide list of high quality open access journals. In this paper, the authors consolidates the e-journals originated from G7 member countries and analyses them based on country, trend, subject, language and top level domain. It assesses the current scenario of open access publishing trend in G7 member countries during 2002-2017. The data has been tabulated and analyzed as per the defined objectives of study.
